As the Hogwarts Express journeyed toward the magical castle, Harry, Daphne, and Tracey spent their time getting to know each other better. Harry was thrilled to have found such good friends on his first day at Hogwarts. He discovered that Daphne and Tracey were both witty and intelligent, each with unique interests and talents.

When they finally arrived at Hogwarts, the excitement in the air was palpable. The first-years were led to the Great Hall, where the Sorting Hat ceremony would determine their houses. Harry was eager to be sorted, but he couldn't help but feel a bit anxious too.

As the Sorting Hat began its song, Harry listened intently. The hat's verses described the values and traits of each house, and Harry found himself drawn to two in particular—Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Daphne and Tracey sat on either side of him, both seeming equally excited about the Sorting.

When it was finally Harry's turn, he walked up to the front, feeling a mixture of nerves and anticipation. The Sorting Hat was placed on his head, and the magical voice inside his mind began to speak.

"Ah, a curious mind you possess, young one. You have the thirst for knowledge and the cunning of a true Slytherin. But there's something else, a burning ambition to prove your worth, not just to yourself but to the world. Where to place you, I wonder?"

Harry's mind raced as the Sorting Hat deliberated. He had always admired the intelligence and wisdom of Ravenclaw, but he also knew that Slytherin valued ambition and resourcefulness.

Finally, the Sorting Hat made its decision. "RAVENCLAW!"

Harry breathed a sigh of relief as he took off the hat and walked to the cheering Ravenclaw table. He was proud to be part of the house known for its wit and intellect, where he knew he could pursue his thirst for knowledge.

As the Sorting continued, Daphne was sorted into Slytherin, and Tracey joined her.

"I won't bore you with an old mans weezing so tuck in" said the headmaster Dumbeldore. Fleamont had told Harry to be catious of the man, he held too many secrets.

Soon they were led to their common room in the second tallest tower

"Alright, this is the common room and the Eagle on the entrance will give you a diffrent riddle every time. solver it to get in or wait for someone to solve it. said Jones, a prefect that Harry had gotten to know.

"Boys will be in groups of 3 to the right and girls in 3s to the left. Breakfast starts 6:00 am to 8:30 am Classes start at 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, lunch is 12:00 pm to 1:00pm, dinner starts 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, curfew at 10:30 pm you have to be back in your common rooms by then. Got it?"

Everyone nodded in agreement

"Good now off to bed" said Pucey and people hurried to get a room with their friends

"Hey, you wanna get a dorm together" said Eddie an outspoke and chill guy along with Marcus a rather quiet man.

The night that followed, Harry quickly settled into his new dorm at Hogwarts. His roommates in Ravenclaw, Eddie and Marcus, quickly became friends, Eddie was the kind of hotheaded and outspoken person and marcus more reser and quiet. They didn't treat him to differently even with all the 'Boy who lived' nonsence.

The next week at Hogwarts brought with it more challenges for Harry, Eddie, Marcus, Daphne, and Tracey. As classes continued, it became evident that Professor Snape, the Potions master, held a deep and unexplained hostility towards Harry.

During a Potions lesson, Snape singled out Harry for minor mistakes, criticizing him harshly in front of the class.

Snape: "Mr. Potter, how many times do I have to tell you? Stir the potion clockwise, not counterclockwise! Are you incapable of following instructions?"

Harry felt a mix of frustration and confusion. He had done his best to follow the instructions precisely, but it seemed like nothing he did was good enough for Snape.

Daphne and Tracey exchanged concerned glances, and Eddie clenched his fists, clearly not happy with how Snape was treating their friend.

Eddie: "Hey, Professor, ease up! It's just a potion. No need to be so hard on him."

Snape's sneer only intensified, "That's 15 points for DISRESPETING a professor and detention this Friday.

In Defense Against the Dark Arts, the new teacher, Professor Quirrell, was an odd and nervous man, constantly fidgeting and stammering during his lectures.

Professor Quirrell: "T-t-today, w-we'll b-be learning the knockback jinx."

Despite his nervous demeanor, Professor Quirrell seemed knowledgeable about the subject and did his best to teach the class.

"Hey, What's up with him?" asked Eddie, "Hagrid told me he had a nasty encounter with a Vampire."

Throughout the week, Snape's hostility towards Harry persisted, and it became clear that he held a grudge for reasons unknown to Harry. Despite this, Harry remained determined not to let it affect his studies or friendships.

Near the Ravenclaw common room, Harry, Eddie, Marcus, and Daphne discussed the strange events of the week.

"I don't understand why Professor Snape seems to have it out for me. I've done nothing to him." said Harry

"It's rather odd, isn't it? He acted all goody and mentor like to the Slytherins, But don't let it bother you, Harry. Some people are just bitter and unfair." responded Daphne

"She's right, mate. Don't let him get to you. We've got your back." said Eddie adding his own 2 cents.

Harry smiled gratefully, appreciating the support of his friends.

One evening, during a study session in the library, Daphne noticed Harry engrossed in a particularly 4th year book on advanced charms.

Daphne: "Hey, Harry, how's that book treating you?"

Harry looked up, frustration on his face. "I found the Augmenti charm fascinating. It can conjure water from thin air. Imagine the possibilities!"

"Indeed, it's quite useful, especially when you're thirsty and don't have water nearby. But I must admit, I wish there was a spell to conjure food too. I could go for a nice sandwich right now." replied Daphne

Harry chuckled, understanding her sentiment, "that's exactly what I was thinking about, but I think food is a bit trickier to conjure. The magical laws have their limits."

Daphne nodded thoughtfully, appreciating Harry's logical perspective.

"You're right. Magic always has its rules and limitations. But I suppose it keeps things balanced and ensures we don't take its powers for granted." said Daphne

"You two, library time is over put those books back and return to your common rooms" Said the librarian Madam Pince.

"Bye, Harry see you tomorrow" said Daphne before heading to the Slytherin common rooms.

As the Halloween season approached, the atmosphere at Hogwarts became more festive. Decorations adorned the castle, and the students were buzzing with excitement for the Halloween feast.

On Halloween night, the Great Hall was beautifully decorated with floating candles and pumpkins. Everyone was enjoying the delicious feast when a sudden commotion interrupted the festivities.

Professor Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, rushed into the hall, looking pale and terrified.

Professor Quirrell: "T-Troll! There's a t-t-troll in the d-d-dungeon!", and then he fainted

The students gasped, and panic spread through the hall. The professors quickly took charge, directing the students to return to their respective common rooms while they dealt with the troll.

As Harry, Eddie, Marcus hurried to the Ravenclaw common room, they were met with concerned faces from their housemates.

"Everyone, stay calm and follow the instructions. We'll be safe there." said a prefect named Dean

Once in the common room, they listened to the distant sounds of commotion as the professors and caretaker handled the troll situation.

"I hope they get rid of that troll quickly. It's got no business being in our castle." said Eddie

"Agreed. Let's stay put and wait for further instructions. We'll be okay."

Hours passed, and eventually, the professors gave the all-clear, confirming that the troll had been dealt with and the castle was safe again.

The next morning, the students were relieved to find out that everyone was unharmed, thanks to the quick and efficient response of the Hogwarts staff.

"Hey, look Quirrell is limping" mentioned Harry

"So" said Eddie

"C'mon, What happened, he didn't even fight the Troll, Its gotta be something else" said Harry

"Like what?" asked Marcus

"Maybe it's that Cerberus" Harry replied without thinking

"Cereberus?!, there's one in the school" exclaimed Eddie

Harry sighed this is exactly why he learned Occlumency, to prevent lapses of judgement. "ya, its on the third floor corridor, Hagrid let it slip"

As Harry mentioned the Cerberus, Eddie, Marcus, and Daphne exchanged concerned glances.

"Wait, you mean the three-headed guard dog from the ancient Greek mythology? Why would Hogwarts have that?" Eddie asked.

"I don't know all the details, but Hagrid mentioned something about it guarding something valuable on the third floor corridor. It seems like a highly protected area," Harry replied.

"That sounds dangerous. But why would Professor Quirrell be involved with it?" Daphne questioned.

"I'm not sure, but I've noticed he seems to be acting odd and secretive. Maybe he knows something about the Cerberus," Harry speculated.

"We should be careful and not get involved in something that dangerous," Marcus suggested.

"Yeaaaaa, Sure" said Harry suspiciously
