A.N. — I've heard this movie villain called "discount All For One" before, and it fits. But these drabbles aim to make these characters developed, even if they come across as one-note. So I chose to explore this character's origins, rather than rehash Heroes Rising. Nine (whatever your real name is), have a happy birthday.

152. Nine

If Thor was a god, what did that make Nine? Merely a mortal, he was reminded, every time he overused Weather Manipulation.

Summoning storms and harnessing the wind could not slow the cellular degeneration ravaging his body. Yet even with that debilitating drawback, Nine still felt he was more worthy to rule than the weaklings currently in charge.

Those with power were destined to wield it over those who lacked it. And Nine, with a trio of like-minded followers and an experimental medical procedure to mitigate his body's failings, was poised to be the one perched at the pinnacle.
