A.N. — There's probably half-a-dozen drabbles this month I'm looking forward to/proud of. This... isn't one of those. That's what happens when it's a filler day in a month sparse for canon events. But hey, at least this chapter connects to one of May's themes.

157. Innsmouth

Octopi were known as some of the smartest creatures in the sea. Innsmouth, with his Octopus quirk, wasn't living up to the hype.

Innsmouth had a bevy of helpful traits at his disposal, yet chose criminality. He would've made a good rescue hero like Selkie and his crew; instead, he found himself pitted against them. He let his siblings take care of the biggest threat first, then resorted to hostage-taking rather than using his ink-spraying ability to obscure his getaway like any good octopus would. When faced with Selkie himself, the leopard seal proved superior to the cephalopod.
