171. Juzo Honenuki (Mudman)

A.N. — As in canon, here a 1-B student follows a 1-A student. I actually haven't looke to see how many of these birthday pairings exist on the calendar, but it offers me a chance to contrast the classes when they do happen. So today's character gets to play foil to yesterday's. Happy birthday, Juzo Honenuki.

171. Juzo Honenuki/Mudman

Softening wasn't a quirk that, on its surface, would get a student into UA. Yet Juzo had not only passed the recommendation exam, he was flourishing in Japan's most demanding hero program.

It wasn't just his mastery over his quirk that had Juzo riding high; his intellect was just as much of an asset. Besides his fluency in English (a godsend for his classmate Pony), Juzo was keenly aware of his capabilities. He was driven when it mattered and calm when it counted, never overextending himself. Juzo was a rarity: a first-year with the mindset of a seasoned pro.
