A.N. — July kicks off with two canon birthdays; I covered the first of those yesterday. This month is full of runs of birthdays, with gaps in between. This creates chaos in the calendar. But today's student gets to keep his date. He's popular in the fandom, though I feel he's over-utilized. Happy birthday to Hitoshi Shinso, the gen-ed hero.

182. Hitoshi Shinso

In the middle of the night, when insomnia stole his sleep, was when Hitoshi dreamed the most. The silence of the wee hours used to be when he dwelled on all the times he'd been told his quirk was villainous. After his showing at the sports festival and proving himself in the joint training battle, the quiet darkness now seemed full of hope that all he strove for was attainable, that he future he'd longed for was within reach. Hitoshi had been fighting an uphill battle his entire life, but he'd never let anyone rob him of his heroic drive.

A.N. 2 — My other drabble idea had a more melancholy tone. First line: "Insults were the most effective trigger for his quirk to latch onto, but damn if it didn't make Hitoshi feel like the villain everyone made him out to be."
