chapter 32.
So what's been up?
This chapter is going to be dark, and will pave the road of Naruto, Sasuke and Nami.
Titled:
The road we all must take. Heads up, Naruto will not stay in Konoha pass the next 2-3 chapters.
"Nanashi." Naruto whispered as he woke up. 'why? Why must it always be like this. First Uzu, then grandpa, Hinata, now Nanashi.'
"Wake up. It's your watch now." Nanami said, before she froze in placed as she stared into Naruto eyes, they were cold, and lonely, but what got her so shaken up was the emptiness of them. He wasn't looking at her, he was staring into her very soul, and she fought hard to stop her knees from quivering but was failing miserably.
'why must everyone I know die! Why can't I protect anyone! What have I've been doing.' Naruto continued his inner monologue as he stared into the night sky, averting his eyes from the brunette.
'You are letting yourself be blinded and not look at the obvious truth.' Naruto eyes narrowed.
'Asura.'
'I see you've been busy in my absence. You also found out the truth? Who told you? Was it Indra.' Naruto ignored the being and pushed forward.
'What truth? There is no truth. There is only lies, lies forged by you and your brother.' Naruto said, as he relived the memory of Nanashi battle with Pein. ' Nanashi was the closest thing I had to Uzu, and he's gone, the last connection I had to my grandfather, he was the reminder that Uzu wasn't completely dead! Where is the truth in his death?' Naruto growled.
'We could not control the world Naruto, even I died. Your mom will die, Nami will die, Minato will die, and you will die as well. People die, and there are people that have lost a lot more then you.'"
Naruto clenched his hands.
'You don't know anything, you are nothing but a liar. I know the true story behind who you are, I know of the endless wars you and your brother have started way past your death. And here you are alive, talking to me about death, you are nothing but a corpse to me.' Naruto said coldly as his Sekai glowed brightly into the night sky.
'Maybe I am. And this will be the last conversation you and me will ever have. I believe I chose wisely putting my faith in you. Regardless of the path you take, I believe you will realize the truth with time. Goodbye, Uzumaki.'
Naruto didn't bother replying.
'Pein, Mitsu, Madara, what ever you call yourself, Iwa. All of those who have wronged my family will fall. But not now, I am not strong enough, I am not smart enough yet.' With that Naruto turned his head to a different annoyance.
"If you are going to get rest I recommend getting it now. I am in no mood to be grilled for the remainder of the night." Naruto said. Nanami blushed at getting caught.
"Are you always this mean or are you just naturally an asshole." Nanami said back, before continuing. "Is that really how you want to talk to someone that is debating joining your cause." Nanami said. Her eye twitched as she got no reply, before she decided to steer the conversation in another direction.
"What is your path anyway? Let me guess you want to save the world?" No reply. Nanami frowned.
"Are you deaf or something I'm talking to you!" No reply. She huffed as she turned around and tucked herself into her futon.
"I have no intentions of saving the world, and before you ask I have no intentions of destroying it either." Nanami smirked as she finally got a reply.
"Then what exactly are you doing? You are a member of the Namikaze clan, and future clan head of the Uzumaki clan, your father is the Yondaime Hokage, you are basically royalty, how could a person like that not be happy with the life they already have. You want to revive a clan that is already dead, and build a place where they could once again live in? What happens then? What happens after that? What is to stop someone else from destroying that place you built?" Nanami asked as she stared at the back of Naruto.
"I don't know." Nanami frowned.
"You don't know? That is the answer to all my questions? What kind of leader are you? I mean, You are a leader right? How do you expect me to want to follow you when you're heading in no particular direction with no plan. Your ideas are in the right place but your mind isn't thinking. You are just a kid, playing ninja, and will end up dead." Nanami said her face red.
Naruto turned around his Sekai glowing, as he stared into the light blue eyes of Nanami.
"How many people have you lost Nanami?" Nanami looked down at that question.
"I lost my parents in the purge during the civil war." Naruto nodded.
"Then you more then anyone should understand my pain. I didn't just lose my parents, I lost my whole clan, my village, I lost the history, I lost everything. In the future nobody will ever remember the Uzumaki clan, nobody will remember your parents, and nobody will care. The only people that will remember will be you and me." Naruto said before shifting his eyes to the sky, a picture of Nanashi went across the dark canvas.
"My Sensei died yesterday." Naruto said, shocking Nanami. "He was an Uzumaki just like me. The last male Uzumaki. You want to know what were his last words to me?" Nanami nodded.
"For we are born in others pain, we disappear in our own. To anyone else, that could mean anything but to me it means everything. While I was born into this world, and there has been many things out of my control, I will not let it become who I am. The only thing I am in control of is my own destiny, and my destiny leads me back home. And if anyone tries to take a part what I am trying to build, I will brake down everything they have built, I do not wish to revive the dead, I wish to have their deaths avenged, and if anyone tries to get in the way of that, I will not hesitate to kill them, friend or foe."
Nanami nodded as she soaked in what he said. Before scoffing.
"So you are an avenger?" She didn't get a reply, and seeing as the blonde kept looking at the sky she figured the conversation was over. With that she fell asleep.
Naruto continued his watch before looking up at the sky.
"I am not an avenger." Naruto said looking into the sky. "I am something much more worst."
Sasuke cursed a felt the curse seal pulse again. He could feel the power coursing threw his veins. He looked over at Nami and frowned.
Flashback
"Sasuke." Nami whispered.
"I know." Sasuke said as he went through a short line of handsigns.
FIRE STYLE: GRANDFIREBALL JUTSU!
A massive ball of flaming hot fire shot out of Sasuke mouth, its direction pointed at a random tree. The tree was instantly engulfed before the fire died down to reveal three corpse on the ground. All three with Sound insignia. Nami and Sasuke looked over the bodies.
"Sound ninja." Nami said. Sasuke nodded before he easily turned around and blocked a Kunai aimmed for Nami's head.
"Protecting your comrades how noble of you Sasuke-kun!" A feminine voice said. Nami and Sasuke looked up, standing on the branch of a tree was a Kusa nin.
"You must be arrogant if you think attacking us alone was smart." Sasuke said. The Kusa nin, tilted her head to the side before she chuckled.
"Hehehe, underestimated by a genin, now that's something to laugh at." Sasuke and Nami immdiately frowned, they managed to read between the lines, the person they were facing was not a genin, which means she was either an intruder or part of the exam.
"What do you want with us?" The Kusa nin smiled before unleashing her killing intent.
"I want to kill you!"
Nami fell on to one knee as the killing intent this woman was giving off was off the charts, she started to see images of her death. Sasuke wasn't holding off any better as he was sweating and barely able to stay standing.
"Are you scared now Sasuke-kun? Good. All prey should be. Now onto the fun part." With that she launched three Kunai's all aimmed at Nami
Nami cursed as her body was still paralyzed, if only she could put up her dragon armour.
Thump!
Nami was wide eyed, standing infront of her with three Kunais enlodged in his back was Sasuke.
Nami fought but failed the urge to blush as Sasuke was looking straight into her eyes, a look of concern but most of all security. She could see the strength hidden in his eyes, and the way his bangs framed his face was making it even harder.
"Don't be afraid Nami." Sasuke said, before he turned around. "Remove them." She did so almost immediately. Jerking away every Kunai and Sasuke not making one sound.
"Kukuku Sasuke-kun very noble, noble indeed, not unlike your brother." If Sasuke was peeved by the mentioning of his brother, he didn't show it.
"Nami, this guy he's not who he saids he is. I could see kage level chakra flowing through him, it will be dumb if we both were to sacrifice our lives here. I could feel Sakura chakra approaching this location, I need you to stop her, if she comes here she will be killed. You are team leader, they need you. Now go, I got this." Nami couldn't believe it, was this the same Sasuke she grew up with? He was being so caring, and he risked his life for her.
"NAMI! GO!" Nodding she jumped away.
'Be safe Sasuke-kun.'
"Eliminating the ditraction? That way I could no longer use her as bait. Good thinking." The Kusa nin said. Sasuke didn't reply, instead he went through a series of hand signs.
FIRE STYLE: GREATFIREBALL JUTSU!
The Kusa nin frowned before going through her own signs.
EARTH STYLE: MUD WALL.
A giant wall came up just in time as the fire jutsu slammed into it. Before her instincts went haywire but it was to late, as she recieved a brutal kick to the back of the head that sent her tumbling across the floor. She didn't waste to much time in getting up as Sasuke was already back on her swinging his reaper blade. She easily avoided the swipe before, using a Kunai to block the next one, Sasuke swung again and the Kusa nin smiled before she pushed forward, blocking the blade, and instantly drew another Kunai and threw launched it at Sasuke. The blade goin right through him.
The Kusa nin was wide eyed before she realized what was happening.
"Genjutsu. KAI." The image seemed to distort before it fell apart. She was now back in the same position on the tree branch with Sasuke looking up at her with his sharingan on.
"You caught me in a gen-jutsu, not bad, but a smart ninja would've acted while I was trap not stay in the same spot expecting me to never notice." The Kusa nin said. Sasuke just smirked.
"What makes you think you are out of my genjutsu?" Before the image once again began to fade, and the Kusa nin looked around before she realized she couldn't move. She was tied to the same tree she was on by ninja wire, looking up she noticed Sasuke was holding the string by the teeth.
FIRE STYLE: GREAT DRAGON PROJECTILE!
The fire followed the string before it erupted forming the head of a dragon, that engulfed the nin. Sasuke held it for a little longer before letting it fade.
He smirked when he saw the fried corpse of the woman.
"Stupid bitch." He said turning around and began to walk away.
"Kuku, Sasuke-kun, you are strong! Your body will make a great vessel! In return for my defeat I shall give you a gift!" Sasuke frowned as he turned around and noticed the body he burnt the mouth was wide open, before a giant snake leaped out of it, he was so distracted by what was happening in front of him he never saw the small snake that was flying towards him from behind, before it sunk its fangs into his neck.
"You will come to me Sasuke. This power is just the tip of the iceberg, I could give you power that will destroy all of your enemies."
Flashback end
Sasuke frowned once again as he looked at Nami.
'Could he really have that kind of power?'
"Okay guy's the exams are about to end in the next hour. Don't let your guards down. We did it." Nami yelled.
Kage's room
"Finally these fucking shit is done. I have an ass cramp." The Tsuchikage said. As he got up to leave.
"Don't be so hasty, we still have to decide what happens with the participants from Konoha. That Hinata girl was revived, and the other two on her team were knocked out." The Kazekage said. The other kages nodded.
"What will you do Hokage-san?" The Mizukage asked. Minato smirked.
"Well she died, and lost her 20 points and when she was revived the 2o points came back, so I guess the chip considers her still in the race, the other two Shino and Kiba were both knocked unconcious, and the chip deducted their points so I can't do anything. Hinata is in, the other two out. Thank you all for coming, you have the liberty of going back to your hotel rooms, I will go announce the ending of the exams and your team will also meet you there. The rankings are up. Check it out." Minato finished pointing at the monitors, the raitings went like this, with how many people were left.

The Kage's looked at the list and smiled. All the small countries eliminated, and surpringly the only places that lost no genins were both Ame and Taki. Konoha still had the most genins participants, then came Kumo, Kiri, suna were tied both with only one team left.
The kages looked the standings and frowned. Many young lives were dead, but that was life of Shinobi. With that they all took their leave.
The Kazekage smiled as he looked at the team that survived.
'Good with Gaara still in the exams our plans are still in motion, to bad Kabuto failed in taking out that blonde brat but it's okay, his mission is complete.'
It didn't take him long to reach his hotel room, before taking his robe off, before reaching for his face and peeling it off. Revealing pale white skin.
"I hate when people sneak up on me." Orochimaru said as he looked behind him, his eyes going wide before a small smile broke into his face. "Oh my, where are my manners? If I would've known it was you that came to visit I would've gone grocery shopping. Here have a seat." With that Orochimaru snapped his fingers and a chair sprang from the floor.
"Mokuton?" The person said but took the seat offered.
"Yes, you seem surprised? Didn't I tell you many things have changed Danzou." Orochimaru said as he sat down on the couch opposite from the bandaged man.
"So, why did you come here and risk being spotted by the Anbu? Last time we talked we agreed to never speak again." Orochimaru said. Danzou nodded.
"I know about your plans to attack the village." Danzou said lacing Orochimaru with a solid glare, that only managed to bring a smile to Orochimaru face.
"And you came to stop me?" Danzou shook his head.
"We both know I am no match for you." Danzou said, and didn't seem bother by the smug look on the snake's face. "But The fourth is." This brought a smile to Danzou face as Orochimaru glared at him.
"You dare compare that man to me! Now you have three seconds to tell me why you came because believe me I have been dying to kill you since the moment I opened that door and felt your filthy chakra invading my personal space!" Orochimaru spat out. Danzou didn't seem concerned.
"I came to tell you to stop your plans, Konoha is my home and I will not let the tree fall. If you do as I say, I will not let the information of this attack be leaked but if you continue you will be forcing my hand, and you know bad things happens when hands are pushed." Danzou replied. Orochimaru just satred at him.
"What makes you think I won't just kill you?" Orochimaru asked. Danzou smirked.
"Because we both know I am a clone and the real me isn't nowhere around nor do you know where to find him. Now enough with the questions, what is your decision?" The next moment the clone was pierced through the chest with the sword of Kusanagi.
"Pathethic filth. My plans are to far ahead to be halted. Konoha will burn, regardless if they are aware of it or not."
The arena
Two flares went across the Arena sky before they exploded. Before a voice rang across the whole place.
"Dear participants! Thank you for participating, the exams are now over! A jounin should be at your location in a couple of minutes to escort you out. The chip on your shoulder should've been ejected by now and self detonated. In a second there will be a display of fireworks and it will show the standings of the village and how many people are left, it will show the names of does that died. Congratulations."
Three seconds later there was another flare, before the names went across the sky.
With team 7.
"So Shino and Kiba, and Sakura teammate are the only people we lost. I could live with that." Shikamaru said as he looked at the rankings.
"Dammit! How am I eliminated and Hinata is not? She fucking died!" Kiba yelled. The others just laughed at him, Nami gave a small smile when she saw Naruto name wasn't part of it.
With Naruto.
Naruto looked up at the sky and nodded when he noticed that none of his comrades were killed.
"Dammit they killed everybody else, we're the only team that's left out of the three Mai-sama brought."Chojuro said as he looked up at the sky. The others nodded, though none of them seemed to care as much as Chojuro did.
Nanami walked over to Naruto before tapping him on the shoulder, when Naruto turned his head in her direction she gave him a curt nod before walking back towards her team. A jounin arriving seconds later.
"I am here to escort you to the nearest exits follow me." They nodded but Naruto chose not to go with them. He said his goodbye before jumping onto a tree.
"I'm running late. Nami's gonna kill me."
With Nami.
"I am not leaving this forrest until NARUTO get's here is that understood Shinobi-san!" Nami yelled as she glared at the jounin.
"If you don't come willingly I will have no choice but to use force." The jounin said, reaching for his pouch. Before he heard multiple Kunai's being drawn.
"As fun as leaving this place sounds, I gotta agree with Nami here. We can't just leave Naruto alone, no matter how much of a prick he is." Kiba said as his Kunai was drawn. The others just nodded.
"I'm here, let's get out of this dump." Naruto said as he arrived on the scene, ignoring all of the others. Nami eye twitched.
"Where have you been? Baka!" Nami yelled as she walked up to Naruto. Naruto just shrugged.
"I got lost on the road of life." With that they all followed the jounin out. All of them noticing how Naruto didn't spare one look in Hinata direction.
"Another drink!" Anko yelled as she sat on the bar, it was early in the morning, but who cared. It's not like anyone cared for her.
"I think that's enough." Anko smirked at the voice.
"Kurotsuchi? Where have you been? Lying to people I'm sure." Anko said, Kurotsuchi smiled.
"You're drunk." She stated.
"Stating the obvious. What do you want?" Anko said her voice getting serious.
"What makes you think I want something? I just want to talk to a friend." Anko raised an eyebrow.
"A friend? You know are relationship is far from friends. I was just a pawn in your plans... how is that going anyways? Seen any Uzumaki's? I have." Anko mocked. Kurotsuchi scowled.
"The only Uzumakis I've seen are in the exams, and the others are protected around the clock, and I should't have to tell you why going after the Yondaime wife will be a bad idea." Anko nodded.
"Yeah she'll wipe the floor with you anyways, you won't even stand a chance." Anko said downing the new drink placed in front of her before getting up, stumbling a little but she managed to find her balance and made her way out. Kurotsuchi followed.
They stepped into the early chilly air of Konoha. None of them really talked to the other. Anko stopped before turning her head.
"What?" Kurotsuchi asked. Anko was glaring at two men sitting down in a restaurant, one was considerably bigger then the other one, they're black cloaks and straw-hats coveringing their faces.
"Nothing, that guy's chakra just felt familiar. Anyway's let's go to my place, then we could talk business."
With said two.
"You sure have a lot of friends Itachi." Kisame said as he bit off a piece of dango. Itachi didn't bother replying, instead opting to lick the stick that previously held many dango dumplings.
"Let's go Kisame." The smaller of the two walked out.
"Aren't you in a rush, don't tell me the great Itachi of the sharingan is scared." Kisame mocked holding up a dango stick, before using said stick to block a sendon. "Jeez I was just joking with you, no need to get so violent." With that the large man got up, before following Itachi out the store.
"So where to now?" Kisame asked, looking around. He was a little disappointed in konoha. The place looked way to happy and cheery to be a ninja village, and to think a place as mushy as this could be considered the strongest.
"We are going to find Morn and have them report back to us, I overheard some people talk about the end of the first round of the Chunin exam, with any luck we will face no challenges along the way. After that we will draw out the Kyuubi and test her out." Itachi said, Kisame grinned.
"Maybe we could shave a little off the top too." Itachi didn't bother responding. Before three blurs sped past him, and he didn't bother turning his head to know who it was.
"Wasn't that your little brother? And from what I remember he was tagging along with the Kyuubi jinchuriki. Looks like a family reunions is in the works." Kisame said grinning.
"Our objective is clear, test out the Kyuubi jinchuriki, and only the Kyuubi jinchuriki. " Itachi said the last part darkly. Kisame nodded.
"Yeah, I understand, stay away from your brother."
Previously with team 7.
The group of genin took the moment to look around, they were back in the room they started in. Looking around they noticed that the competition had been cut down tremendously.
"I guess these exams didn't go as well for everyone." Shikamaru said. Naruto took the moment to look around, one team from Suna, all the teams from Taki, 1 team from Kumo, 1 team from Kiri, 2 teams from Iwa.
"Only 36 genins left out of 96." Ino whispered, remembering her talk with Shikamaru before the exams began. And the worst part was she didn't even feel bad, she felt relieved, relieved that she was one of those that survived.
"What exactly will be the case with Hinata, she still counts but the way her mind is there will be no way she would be able to participate in these exams." Kiba said, before he looked at Naruto, who by the way, still didn't spare the female Hyuga a look.
"This is all your fault you prick!" Kiba said pointing at Naruto catching the attention of everyone in the room. If Naruto knew who they were looking at he didn't show it as he continued to stare at the podium where the Yondaime appeared.
"TEME! Don't ignore me!" Kiba said walking towards Naruto before he yanked his shoulder and forcibly turned him around to look at him. "It was because of you Hinata died, they were looking for you! They used Hinata as bait, if she wasn't your girlfriend she wouldn't have gone through that, she would've never lost her memory and you would've never used that Jutsu that erased her memory!" Kiba finished, and smirked when he saw Naruto look down averting his eyes.
"KIBA! That's enough!" Nami yelled, ready to intervene before anything got to serious. "The only thing that matters is that she's alive." Kiba scoffed.
"Is she? She has the mind of a 9 year old, she's the heir to the Hyuga clan, do you know how many countries want to get there hands on a pair of Hyuga eyes? And now here she is easy pickings, it's just a matter of time before someone snatches her up." Kiba finished. Nami looked at Shikamaru too see if he could talk some sense into him but saw the Nara look away, she looked around and saw that most of the Konoha nin were looking down or just averting their eyes, except for Hinata who was looking at Kiba strangely. Nami opened her mouth to say something but before she could, Naruto jumped in.
"A clan that could not protect their own heir shouldn't be looked at in such high regard." Naruto said shocking everyone. Including the new group that entered.
Kiba grit his teeth.
"You cold bastard! You finally open your mouth to speak and that is the first thing that comes out? If I wasn't sure the old Hinata wouldn't forgive me for shredding you limb from limb I will kill you right now!" Kiba said his teeth flaring. Naruto began to reach for his sword before a voice broke it up.
"Naruto there will be no fighting allowed outside of the exams, regardless if you are my son or from my own village breaking the rules will not be tolerated." Everyone turned to the podium where the Yondaime Hokage stood his formal robes on, two his right where the clan heads of the Hyuga clan and the Yamanaka clan. Two his left the red head woman from last time. Yondaime laced the two genin with a glare before Naruto stopped and placed his hands back at his sides.
"This isn't over Teme." Kiba whispered. The Yondaime nodded before he continued.
"Now. Congratulations the first part of the exams are done, I have to give it up to you guys I was expecting a lot more people to be eliminated but it seems the will of fire shines bright in all of you." The yondaime started taking a pause. "I will not prolong this any further I'm sure you are all tired and wish to go home and get a goodnights rest and eat something besides what you ate in the forest. Once again congratulations and I'll see you next time. You are dismissed. All except for Naruto and Hinata."
With that every genin team in the building left, leaving only the people on the podium and the two genins.
SMACK
Naruto picked himself off the floor after being slapped by his mom.
SMACK
Naruto managed too stay on his feet this time, though both his cheek were now glowing red.
"YOU BAKA!" Kushina yelled as she smacked him across the head. "What were you thinking! Do you even know what you did! Are you even aware of the severity of the situation! Do you know what you did by using that cursed scroll!" Before she smacked him again, this time while having tears stroll down her cheeks.
Naruto dusted himself off as the last smack sent him tumbling. Before he made eye contact with his mom, and Kushina heart almost sank. Naruto eyes told a story only a mom could read, she could see the sorrow and regret, and the pain.
"What did you expect me to do? Let her die?" Naruto said quietly. Kushina looked away.
"Saving anothers life at the cost of your own isn't being heroic Naruto." Kushian started before Naruto cut her off.
"Grandpa sacrificed himself in order to help the Uzu people escape, The nindaime Hokage sacrificed himself in order to save his squad, and Minato was willing to sacrifice himself in order to let his kids live. What makes me any different from them?" Naruto snapped, glaring into the eyes of his mother. Kushina frowned.
"So that's who've you become? A person that does things because others done it? Not once did you mention that you did it because you actually cared for Hinata and wanted her to live. Is that the ideals instilled in you by me?" Naruto looked away, before looking at Minato to prove a point. Minato sighed before looking down.
"Naruto, your mother has a point. The reasons we all did what we did, wasn't because we considered it the only thing we had to do, but because we were happy to willingly give up our life for the people we love. You rushed into the situation used a scroll that you don't know what entails, not even knowing if the process would work and leaving Hinata in this weaken state, not only that not once have you even looked in her direction." Every word hit Naruto like a knife stabbing into his heart.
"I'm afraid." Naruto said. Holding back tears. "I was afraid Hinata will hate me from heaven if I would've let her die, knowing I could revive her. I was afraid when she woke up and didn't recognized me, and I am afraid right now to look at her because she isn't the person I knew." By now tears were falling freely from his face, before Kushina walked up to her youngest son and kneeled down, wrapping her arms around his small frame.
"Sometimes you act so mature Naruto, we all forget how young you are my little Naru-kun. Don't worry you could sleep now." Kushian said before she pressed her finger into the back of his neck and Naruto fell slump into her arms.
Before she made a shadow clone and ordered her to take Naruto back to the house.
She turned around and faced the other three. Minato took the lead.
"Yamana-san let's hope you are right and her memories could be restored." before he disappeared and reappeared behind Hinata knocking her out. Inochi nodded.
"Nothing is impossible, I just need more information on the technique the kid used." At this all three men looked at Kushina. Kushina sighed.
"The technique is called the dead demon revival technique. The user is allowed to bring one person back from dead by offering his soul in return, but unlike anyone else that summons the god of death they're soul wont be taken as payment. They are allowed to live the rest of their life but when they die, they will be sent straight to the stomach of the shinigami too fight forever in its stomach. It's considered blood magic and was band from the clan after many people started doing it for mundane reasons, like bringing back a dog that died." The three men nodded.
"I see. That still doesn't explain why she can't remember anything. I guess I'll have to just go in and check." Inochi walked up to the girl laying on the floor before pressing his hand on her head and closing his eyes, forcing his way into the girls mind.
Hinata mind
Inoichi frowned as he looked around. There was big chunk of information missing, while lesser skilled mind walkers will see the brain as scrolls with codes ad they will have to spend time deciphering each code, meaning going over every single memory, he was a lot more advanced. Bringing his hand up to the brain, he raised his hands to where the Hippocampus the part of the brain that controlled memory and focused. He skimmed past most of the memory until he started getting to recent times, everything seemed fine until he started noticing a pattern, in each one of Hinata memory any part that involved Naruto was blocked out. He could see when they was at the academy, and the teacher will call Naruto name but it rang silent in Hinata mind, it was like he wasn't even there to her.
Then he would see the girl look at pictures and he will see all of the rookies but their will always be a blank spot, like if someone edited the frames. Deciding to look forward some more he came to the chunin exam, and he found himself looking up at eyes he thought only existed in folk lore, then the person brought his hands to her head and everything went blank for a couple of minutes before another frame came up and it was of Naruto, but it wasn't blocked out. Thinking he must of missed something he decided to go back to the kid, and not just skim through the frame but actually look at it.
He saw when team eight entered the arena, how they all jumped away, then he saw them talking to the team, before looking at the kid with the eyes, this time looking straight at the kids mind making sure to read his lips as he could not perceive sound, in another persons mind.
'I will use its power to see what's in her mind, and extract as much information about the blonde as I could.'
Was what Inoichi managed to make out and once the kid brought his hands to the girls mind she went blank then the frame with Naruto popped up again. This was bad. Sighing he let go of the girls brain and made his exit.
Outside world.
"He's waking up." Hiashi said as he got up from the floor, Inoichi was inside Hinata's mind for the better part of an hour. Kushina and Minato rushed over to the Yamanaka and looked at him expectantly. Inoichi sighed.
"Well I managed to figure out the problem, there was a kid in the exam he had the rinnegan." They all stared at him like he was mad. "I didn't believe it either but trust me it was there, the kid probably used one of the techniques granted to him by the eyes too in a way steal information from her mind." The group frowned at this. Minato was the first to snap out of it.
"So what's the verdict?" Inoichi sighed, before he smirked.
"I could fix it. You see the kid only took any general information regarding Naruto. This caused Hinata to have small lapse in her memories and since her and Naruto obviously spent a lot of time together her mind went into literal Naruto withdraw. It's like a bad hang over, where you can't really remember what happened the night before but with time it will come back to you." He sweetdrop when he noticed all of them looking at him with a deadpan expression.
"I mean, she lost all the memories connected with , while also dying and now her brain is rebooting." The others made a 'ooo' noise.
"I see, so she will recover?" Hiashi asked. Inoichi nodded.
"Yes she will, and before you ask no I can't do anything to help that, it will happen by itself but judging from the fact that she does have recent memories I'll give it about 2-5 days before all her memories are restored. Now all we could do is wait." The other three nodded before Minato looked at Hiashi.
"Seeing as she is your daughter what will you do about her still being in the exam?" Minato asked. Hiashi thought over it, while Neji was still in the exams having only a branch member oft he Hyuga present will be an embarrassment. Plus part 2 wasn't for another week, if Hinata isn't feeling better he will remove her but if she is, why not let her show off the power of the Hyuga?
"I believe it will be best to let her decide once she wakes up." Hiashi said, but then again she was still his daughter and as much as others thought he hated her, he wouldn't make her do anything she didn't want to. Not for him, or the clan. The others nodded finding his plan smartly thought out before Inoichi left, and Kushina leaving saying she had to get dinner ready for the kids. Minato left saying he had Kage things to do.
"If only your mother was here, this will be so much easier." Hiashi said picking Hinata off the floor and disappearing in a leaf shushin.
Naruto frowned as he woke up in his room, the pain of the words spoken to him earlier still leaving a bad taste in his mouth. He decided he needed some fresh air and walked outside and stood on his balcony and stared at the moon. Soon memories of his grandfather, his teachers, his friends and Nanashi went across his mind. With every new frame tears will pour, this was the first time he actually cried for the people that were taken from him. Then he took one last look at the moon, and Hinata face went across it, and like a flood the tears poured out. He could hear her voice going through his head.
'Naruto-kun, you should probably take a break.'
'Naruto-kun where are you?'
'Naruto-kun where are you? It's so dark.'
'Naruto-kun, I'm dying.'
'Naruto-kun why?'
Before Naruto eyes a stream of light shooting out from his eyes and stretching out for miles in the direction of the moon, before it died down. Then pain, unimaginable pain raced across Naruto body as he felt like his whole body was on fire, before he felt it, his eyes melding in his sockets, before a blue light flashed from his chest, taking the image of Nanashi before sinking into Naruto eyes. He fell to his knees, unable to close his eyes or remove them from the moon, his mouth hanging open. Never noticing his Sekai change from the ying and yang symbol to a blood red eight pointed star, in the middle of the star contained a small pyramid and inside the pyramid a small black circled appeared, they circled in his eyes for a little before blood began to pour out, and if Naruto couldn't swear Nanashi was dead he could've swore he heard his voice.
'Don't worry Naruto, I've entrusted you with this power, combining my sekai with yours, the results, even I do not know. Take care, I have great faith in you.'
With that Naruto fell over.
Before you start, it's not the sharingan. I want to go back to the origins of the eye, and why the Uzumaki have it and why it's so hard to activate. After all every eye power must come from a creator right? I mean Indra must've known about the Uzumaki clan, and he had to be curious right?
