Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.

Koyuki frowned as she looked down at the piles of paperwork. Sometimes she felt like she got the short hand of the stick, for starters she was in charge of every piece of technological advancement, her pride and joy were the modified body suits that were made a year ago, half of asguard shinobis already had one and those that didn't will. Then came her second favorite, the naval force. It took sometime but they were finally strong enough to stand a decent chance against places like Mizu that had the best Naval force in the shinobi world, although they weren't the best they still needed to train their shinobis in the art of naval warfare but everything was a start.

Then came the one she was having the most trouble with, their train system. While vast and technologically advance, the easy way of transportation was becoming an hassle to maintain not to mention fund. The special minerals needed to make the train chakra conductive were running scarce and the amount they had left was going to run out in the next ten years, which was unacceptable. Then they had the problem of chakra, it took ten shinobis to power one train and that was for one stop then a second unit will have to take their place and then that was one stop then the first unit will take over, so and so fourth. If they figured out a way to make the train use less energy they could use some of those shinobis for combat and not just have them sit down for however long the ride was. Then came maintenance, repairing the tracks close to home was no problem, but the ones that were located in foreign land, yeah they were nearly impossible to get too without a fight, and asking for clearance was well, how do you tell a kage about a train that leads directly to their village without having them think you plan to invade? You can't. But it was also Naruto favorite form of transport.

"What has you so down? Are you not satisfied with the improvements?" Dr asked. After he pledged his loyalty to Koyuki his life has turned for the better. Where before everything was rushed and to be undercover now he could announce to the village what he created, he was even considered a village hero and would be sent gift from time to time, not to mention with the extra funds he's been getting the only thing that could stop him from accomplishing what he wanted was what his mind could come up with. And he had plans for devices that fly, and traveled under water, and could travel through the land. No, this was his moment and he would bask in the glory, he would be the precedent for all future designs and people in the future would look at his work for inspiration and asked how could a mind so old think of technology so advanced. He was in a league of his own.

"I was just wondering what actions have you taken to make the train system more economical, and less draining." She asked as she looked over the new designs for the body suits.

"Well, I haven't really done anything. We could only use what we got and from my last report you could see that I am making due of that. The minerals and resources needed to make a cheaper and less draining train is still decades away, just making this one took many years of training. Not to mention making any changes to the train means making changes to the tracks and the overall structure, so if your looking for economic this is the best option." Dr explained.

"I understand that, but I'm sure there are other alternatives and energy sources we could use." Koyuki replied. Dr nodded.

"Yes, but we have a good thing why change it? After all its not broken, no one has complained and other villages are asking for patent permission. why not continue using it."

"Because its to expensive, and if you would like to build all the other things you be bragging about one of these inventions needs to be reduced or eliminated, and the only one I think is less helpful is the train system, so is either you fix it as perfect as it is, or say good bye to the birds. Understood?" Koyuki said calmly, although you could tell she was just a little irritated.

"I'll see what I could do."

"Thank you."

"How do you like the new body suits?" Koyuki looked over the designs before using her pen to write over a couple of things before signing it at the bottom.

"Approved. I would like these to be in circulation in the next two years, and these would have to be mass produced I want everyone in every village to have one. Including the civilian police."

"Done. And I do have a plan to reduce the train system, but it won't be easy." Koyuki nodded.

"Lay it on me."

"Have you heard of a little thing called electricity?"

Sasuke was just a little annoyed with the way things were going, one their mission to find water boy was cut short. Orochimaru got word that the three tails was free and wanted their unit to investigate it. Now, that wasn't so bad, it might cut into his training but one thing was for certain he would be able to test his new power, where strong things laid usually strong things surrounded it. It was just the way of life, but his relationship with Guren was strained. She believed he was a mindless hot head that was pampered by Orochimaru, in other words she was jealous. He believed she needed to focus more on finding the three tails and not protecting the little boy they picked up a couple of villages ago.

He was left in the dark about most of the mission details, but he didn't mind. He was smart enough to know that the kid was some type of key to the beast, Orochimaru didn't invest in anyone that wasn't useful. It was a cruel way of looking at things, but it was sadly how things worked, and how he liked it. He's been thinking more and more about his goal. His plan for vengeance to kill Itachi was slowly becoming more real, but then he remembered what his late sensei said. Everyone in Konoha must also die, but his will wavered a little on that. While it was true they walked around like nothing happened, like they don't owe his clan everything they had was infuriating the fact remained that he held no ill will for some of them. In fact he barely knew some of their names.

But if he had too kill Itachi, he might as well carry on with the whole mission and not just half of it. Then the idea of Nami came too his head. His girlfriend, although he doubt she'll consider him the same after what he did, but she needed to believe that he was unsavable that what he did was because of his own anger and disgust with the village and not because he was trying to demonstrate what it meant to be with a guy like him. His path would lead her to nothing but pain, both physical and mental, and she experienced both and if by anyone then why not his hands.

If working with Orochimaru taught him one thing was that compassion got you killed, pity got you laughed at, and self doubt made you a failure. He had no desire to be any of those things, and over time he started to adapt to the their barbaric way of living, even his dark room was beginning to feel like home, and he had about seven of them. He had to hand it to the snake he had a way of moving that really interested him, one time they even stayed in a underground bunker in Konoha and no one even noticed. Hiding in plane sight, the only thing that made him question Orochimaru true motives was why didn't he try to assassinate Tsunade. He basically went to war to kill the Minato but Tsunade didn't interest him in the least, could this mean that he actually considered Tsunade to be worthy of having the title of Hokage? Who knows. After all a snake was unpredictable that's what made them so dangerous.

For Naruto the time spent with Konoha crew was beginning to become more a hassle, then an a good bad time. And the reason was simply, they didn't know how to work together. And he's not talking about with him, the team itself was sloppy, and the dynamic of the team was just abysmal. Lee was a tai jutsu artist, so was Kiba. Which meant they were all close range, Hinata was mid-range but even she was more of a up close and personal fan. Then he had Shikamaru, his only ace. And when I mean only ace, I mean only ace. The guy was smart and could fight any type of battle, be that long range or short. But you wouldn't want to place your strategist in that type of situation. No, Shikamaru was just as important as a field medic.

"What has you so bothered Naruto? Tsunade is on her way to seal the beast and you have done nothing but sit around and look angry." Lee asked, his level of an enthusiasm a little downplayed as he didn't feel as energized as he once was. He believed this mission would be a lot harder then expected but so far it has been nothing but patrol, and they found no signs of enemies, or that a battle even took place. For all intents and purposes, they were there more for fun then for actual combat. But why go through the pain of paying Konoha.

"This mission just wasn't what I cracked it up to be. I thought there would be more explosions." Naruto said. Lee nodded. Kiba frowned as he took a seat. He was a little pissed that he got caught up in this mission as well, he could've been spending his time training instead of just jumping from tree to tree looking for ghost.

"I agree with you too Naruto-kun." Hinata said as she leaned against the tree. They were about four feet from the lagoon the three tails was trapped in. Except for the occasional roar and the amount of time they had to channel chakra to their feet to avoid falling over from the beast sending sonic blast after sonic blast, it had been a quite docile experience.

"What do you think they're going to do with it?" Shikamaru asked. He already had a good idea.

"Seal it into someone. I wonder who it would be, I don't see anyone on their team looking nervous." Naruto said looking over at the mizukage who was staring hungrily at the lagoon.

'So that's her plan, she wishes to recreate Minato idea and seal the beast into herself. How amusing.'

'She's most likely going to come after you right after, the energy won't be as stabilize and judging from the amount of power the three tails is giving off, I doubt he'll be so happy to be sealed again. Which means he'll impose his will on her, and most of her anger is directed at you, which means you better saddle up. This one is going to get messy.'

'Did she think I was joking when I said, I'll blow her and the mist village to smithereens or do my words not hold enough weight?'

'I suggest you beat her up a little, but leave the mist alone. You already have enough enemies and the friends you do got don't like you very much. Plus Akaktsuki might still be waiting around, and if you're weaken after you complete your objective you'll be easy pickings.'

'Aw you do care.'

'No, I just don't feel like giving you my chakra, which you will beg for when they do come.'

'Will you?'

'You say it like I have a choice.'

'I heard asking was still the polite thing to do.'

'Oh jeez, what's the point of asking if I would've said no and you still would've done it?'

'Never know. I could be flexible.'

'No you can't.'

'When wasn't I flexible?'

'Whaenthat poor little girl begged you to stay in Asgard and not send her on the mission that killed her.'

'Low blow bro.'

From the corner of his eye he saw Hinata making her way towards him. To be honest for the duration of the mission he had made it his goal to avoid any conversations with her. Not that he didn't want too, it was just he was tired of hearing her beg. There was no way he was going to be allowed back to konoha now, he would have to first start apologizing to a lot of people, and he honestly just didn't have the patience for it or wanted too. The world already hated him, what would one more do? Would it be painful to deal with at first? Probably but then he'll go home wrap up with Koyuki and the only thing that will remind him of Hinata would be the glow of the moon at night.

"Hey Naruto." She came off as forward and a little frustrated but it was to be expected.

"Sup?"

"Care to go on a walk with me?" Naruto thought it over, if he said no she'll sit next to him and make him talk. There were to many eyes here, and he had a feeling he knew what she wanted to talk about. Her timing was always perfect.

"Lead the way." He got up dusted his pants and followed the blue haired girl into the woods. The setting was almost beautiful for a scenery aficionado like himself, but then the dread of knowing eventually he would have to catch up with her and hear her talk made it just a little less glamorous.

"You know." So it begins. He walked a little faster till he was walking shoulder to shoulder with her.

"Know what?"

"What I want to say."

"I don't read minds, I just know what I know from past experiences, and the past tends to repeat itself."

"Always so sweet with your words, were you always like this or has the fame swelled your brain?"

"I guess a little bit of both, I just have no reason to hide it anymore." Hinata frown.

"Even with me?" Naruto looked at her.

"If your asking if I was pretending to act a certain way with you before, the answer is no." Hinata read between the lines.

"But you did keep things from me."

"Like everyman with a future like mine."

"What future?" Naruto smirked.

"I see you still don't believe I could do it." Hinata shook her head.

"You could barely hold three villages together." Naruto nodded.

"Yeah but they're together right?" Hinata shrugged.

"But they're brittle and easy to pull apart." Naruto frowned.

"Enough small talk. Plus your one to talk, your clan is full of contradictions." Hinata frowned but knew that her next words were going to be the defining moment of their little stroll. If she defended her clan then he would gear the conversation in that direction and that direction only. So she decided to get to the point.

"I know you don't love Koyuko, your just using her for economic strength and a pleasure bucket." Naruto raised one eyebrow.

"Pleasure bucket?" Hinata just looked at him. Naruto smirked. "I don't know what you're talking about I love my wife slatch fiance. I think she is spectacular."

"Spectacular enough to post pone the wedding three times, let your ex stay in the same village, book a room in the same hotel and rumor has it you asked Tsunade to place me on this mission."

"I thought your abilities would suit the mission."

"Why can't you admit it already, you're still in love with me." Naruto frowned.

"A childish reason to pull us away from an S-rank mission." Hinata stood shock for a second before clearing her throat.

"Then why-"

"You're still just a little girl Hinata. You need to understand that people aren't what they appear. And that things like love and want don't exist. You must do what you got to do to survive and prey that in twenty years it all works out. So if you asked me to talk to just remind me of all the good times, and the amount of memories we shared, and serenade me with your pity tears I might actually consider asking Shikamaru to send you back to Mizu for they could hold you, while the real ninja complete the mission." Naruto snapped, growing a little impatient. Did she not see that what he was doing was for her. She was the only one that he told his goal too. So she more then anyone should understand why he's doing the things he's doing.

"Your nothing but an arrogant idiot, with a head to big for his shoulders." Hinata said before reaching into her pocket and showing him the rose. "What does this mean to you?"

Naruto sighed before the crystal surrounded it fell to the floor, and the rose instantly shriveled and the leaves fell one by one.

"Do you understand now?" Then Naruto walked past her stepping on a couple of the petals. Hinata looked at the rose on the floor before sighing.

"I wonder if brother Neji is having a better time then me."

For Hinata one thing was certain, Naruto had made his choice.

'I wish peace finds you.'

Naruto walked deeper into the forest then he wanted to but the reality was that what Hinata said bothered him.

"You know, its okay to feel sometimes."

"Not now Kurama. Plus what a demon like you know about feeling?"

"I feel enough of your emotions to know that you're sad, angry, and hungry." Naruto nodded.

"I skipped lunch."

"That Hinata girl, she's not a bad person. I think she's one of the few humans in this world that I feel no malignant emotion. That Koyuki girl pretty much stinks of it." Naruto smirked.

"Kurama the couple councilor, so you try to ale my aching heart but you didn't move a muscle when I had a knife stuck in my thigh." Kurama snorted.

"Like something like that is worth my time."

"But my feelings are?"

"I got to share them with you, so yes. I prefer sober, not giving a fuck you over this sad dimwitted melancholy semi sober you."

"Who uses melancholy in a sentence?" Kurama shook his head.

""You could pretend with them, but I'm inside of you. I know everything, you can't hide anything from me. It was just my way of telling you that your giving up something good.

"I'll take your words into consideration, but for now we must endure."

"And endure we both shall."

by the time Naruto made it back to camp he saw Shikamaru walking up to him.

"Naruto get ready the mist is making their move." Shikamaru said. Naruto looked and noticed that they indeed were tired of waiting. Four shinobi were spread out across the lagoon forming a type of square, with the Mizukage squarely in the middle, directly above where the three tails last came out from. He was actually a little interested. This was a bold move, even for a rash headed woman like Mei. Not waiting for Tsunade, my she must really not like me. The next moment the Lagoon glowed blue followed by an array of seals marking over the majority of it, he then saw Mei raise her hand and slam it into the water.

and then shit went bad. The seal fell apart and the beast knocked out the farthest people and Mei was saved in the nick of time by her bodyguard.

"It didn't work. What now?" Shikamaru asked as his knee trembled at the amount of power no longer being contained. Naruto smirked stepping forward.

"Don't go soft on me now, the fun just started. Plus, something inside of me just doesn't like the way the three tails is talking."

The next second Naruto was seen high above the three tails with a small orb in his hands, the next second the orb turned ten times his size almost equivalent to the size of the beast, before Naruto brought it down. The three tails used all his tails to block it before it exploded. Team Konoha covered there eyes and when they opened it they saw the three tails besides the steam coming from his tails was unbothered. Naruto was standing a couple of feets away from it with his arms crossed. The image was amazing to say the least.

Naruto frowned, he survived that. It was his knock out move.

"Your one tough bastard." The beast yelled something out and Naruto just nodded.

"Yeah, yeah I know you want to kill me. Take a number, and a seat theres a long line of people like you around." The next moment the beast turned into a ball before rotating and charging at Naruto who was doing nothing but stand there. The next moment Naruto jumped and delivered a summer slaught kick to the beast and it plunged into the water before it unfolded, and just as it unfolded his three tails came together and an energy blast was fired at Naruto.

Naruto smirked as he saw the menacing bomb.

'Fast.'

Deciding he rather not be incinerated he activated his Sekai, time seem to stop for a moment as an invisible barrier stopped the blast in mid stride but eventually it was too much and broke through it.

'Fuckin bitc-' The attack hit Naruto dead on, who went flying through a couple of trees before the mountain side exploded. The explosion shaking the floor.

The Konoha team was in shock, here was Naruto not much older then them fighting against the three tails and they were having trouble just telling their brain to remember to breathe. The aired seem to turn cold as a chilled feeling crept around the area. The next moment a blur charged through from the same direction as the mountain and delivered what they thought was a punch to the beast. The beast howled before being sent flying, the next moment the beast was set ablaze with green fire. They covered there ears as the beast yelled in pain.

"Yeah guys we might have to call it a day, and lick our wounds and come back tomorrow." Naruto said as he appeared before them. His clothes were next to none existent and his hair was smoking but besides that he looked fine.

"Why you got him? Look its rolling and the water won't even put it out." Naruto nodded at Kiba observation.

"Yeah but I didn't come here to fight the three tails, I came here to fight some very bad people. Plus, my fire won't bother it forever his shell hard as diamond." Naruto said showing them his hand which was completely mangled.

"So fall back and come back tomorrow? With a better strategy." Naruto nodded. Naruto eyes activated before he turned around and looked at the beast. There was a red glow in the beast eyes before it slumped over and the fire receded.

"That'll make sure the beast doesn't run. I got a bone to pick with him. Lets go."

Mizu

"Anarchy i tell you, straight Anarchy!" Naruto yelled as he paced back and fourth in the Mizukage office. His hand was wrapped up in bandages and so did half of his upper body.

"What exactly has you so upset Naruto. You managed to subdue the beast." Mei asked a little put off by Naruto reaction, after she got easily disposed.

"Upset? Upset is half of what I feel and then half of that. I am furious! I am appalled that a beast like that managed to hurt me!" Naruto yelled before pointing at his mangled hand. "You see this?!" He said waving his hand around.

"Unacceptable." Before using said hand to slam on the desk. He quickly rolled on the floor in pain before releasing a sigh and laying flat.

"Shikamaru, what's the word on Konoha?" Naruto asked. Said Nara who was perched up against a wall looked up.

"Estimated arrival will be between tonight and tomorrow. Tsuande is only bringing Sakura and Ino. Which means if you're expecting back up."

"No, that's perfect. we need them here. I need some one to fully heal my hand. And then I need someone to fully heal the beast after I'm done with it."

Everyone sweetdropped.

"What exactly has changed for you? You couldn't beat it a couple of hours ago what makes you think you will next time?" Naruto narrowed his eyes at Mei.

"You dare challenge me?"

"Yes."

"Well this is what changed." He said pointing at his hand, which was bleeding through the bandages.

"What does your fucked up hand have to do with anything?"

"It doesn't. I'm talking about I was hurt. And when I'm hurt we come back ten times better, and four time stronger, and two times faster."

"I'm sure you've used the same speech before." Kiba barked.

"Maybe a couple of time, but every time I did what I said I will do, and do what I said I will."

"Huh?" Mei interrupted.

"I know. Now listen, it's obvious I can't beat the turtle shit alone." They all looked at him like he just said the sky was blue.

"So I'm going to need all of your help." They all nodded.

"What do you want from us exactly?" Mei asked.

Naruto looked at her.

"From you, I need that force field thingy."

"Done."

He looked at Shikamaru.

"From you I need a plan. A good plan. That revolves around me. Or is all me. You decide but those are your only two options."

Shikamaru sighed but nodded.

"Hinata, stop looking at me and help Kiba. I don't know what it is but something tells me he's going to need help and you're going to have to be it." Hinata nodded. Kiba just growled.

"Lee."

"Yosh!"

"You stay back and protect Mei."

"But-"

"And the rest of you get ready to die."

"Huh?"

"Yeah I mean we're going against a tail beats one of us is going to die. Or a couple why not some cannon folders?"

"Fuck you."

"Now that's what I like to hear. You see the good thing about not caring about no one. Is not giving a fuck what others think of you."

"The moment this mission ends, I'm going to try to kill you." One of the Anbu said almost everyone in the room nodded their heads in agreement.

"You're funeral." Naruto said smirking as his eyes morphed into the Sakai.

"Just make sure you don't get any blood on my shoes. They were a gift from Koyuki."
