All Drake needed was for someone to trade shifts with him. It was Christmas Eve, dammit, one of the most romantic nights of the year, and his girlfriend was going to dump him if he didn't spend it with her. Dee was his last hope!

Drake begged, pleaded, offered every bribe and incentive he could come up with, but Dee wasn't budging, which sucked. Dee wasn't even seeing anyone; what did he need the night off for?

Just when Drake was facing a miserable evening, not to mention a seriously pissed off girlfriend, Dee suddenly caved. Drake didn't know why, but he didn't much care. If he hurried he might be able to salvage his relationship after all. He wasn't holding out much hope of it lasting, things had been rocky between him and his girl for a while, but at least he wouldn't be spending Christmas alone. It was pretty much the worst time to get dumped.

As he headed out of the squad room a little lighter on his feet as well as lighter in the wallet department, he thought about the night ahead and smiled. He should've known Dee would come through. He was a good friend.
