Author's note: Just a reminder. This is not an example of a healthy Charlie and Santana relationship this is a very toxic, very problematic relationship. It will remain a problematic relationship. I said it. I do love the reviews though. Made me happy so here's another chapter.
Tina had never been a religious person, but now that she was in some seedy bar with even seedier people watching Santana work on her 8th shot of tequila, she had found religion quickly as she prayed to whichever deity that she wouldn't have to betray her friend. She knew Santana would never hold it against her, but that didn't mean she wanted to do it. She had always tried to remain neutral when it came to Charlie and Santana but she was going to have to pick a side, and there was no betting against Charlie.
She was tempted to try and reach out to Santana to warn her, but there was no way that she would be able with Kara and a few of her most trusted Fury's monitoring her. And even if Kara didn't give a shit about her trying to help Santana, which she suspected that Kara didn't, she was certain that Charlie was watching. And growing more incensed as Santana was flirting with someone who looked suspiciously like Charlie at first glance. It was the hair cut, she was blonde, built, even the facial features were similar enough. What was worse was that Santana seemed totally enamored by this fake Charlie. This was going to end in disaster and quite possibly her death.
Her attention shifts back to Santana, as she watches helplessly as Santana grabs the woman by the hand and pulls her up while also paying for the drinks. She hopes that they're only going to dance, but when Santana tugs the woman out of the bar and towards the elevators she sighs and immediately touches her communication device. "She's leaving with someone, your Majesty."
She doesn't receive a response and frowns before she exits the bar and pauses when she notices the woman and Santana practically dry humping as they wait for the elevator. She bites her lip, but decides that she's done all that she can for Santana. If Santana wanted to come out of this alive, well she would need to calm Charlie down and if anyone could do it was probably Santana.
"Leave it."
Tina glances at Kara who is wearing glasses. "Is that supposed to be a disguise?"
"Glasses are the perfect disguise."
Tina opened her mouth and then closed it and shook her head, she wasn't going to get into it. "I tried to alert her Majesty—"
"Yeah, I know. She's already waiting. We need to contain everyone, I'm trying to convince her not to turn this place into a crater in the ground, but I'm afraid that Santana doomed all of these innocent degenerate sex addicts to their death just because she's in love with Charlie and simply won't explain it to Charlie like she's five. Which is probably the only way that she'll understand this. Well at least they'll have died because of what they love." Kara shrugged. "Her Majesty wants a list of all the people who were intimate with Santana."
Tina sighed and closed her eyes, "Understood."
~ O ~
Charlie blew out a puff of smoke, watching as it forms a lazy O, before it breaks apart. It was dark in the room, which was for the best since she had trashed it the moment that she had arrived. The bed was destroyed, if Santana had put any money down for a deposit she certainly wouldn't be getting it back, not that it mattered. This entire den of sin wasn't long for the world.
She hears a thump against the door and crosses her legs as the door swings and she can't help but watch as the blonde fumbles a bit trying to turn on the lights. She can't help but roll her eyes and the lights flicker on. It's almost comical to watch Santana realizing what is going on before the other woman does, as her back goes rigid and she immediately shoves the woman away and turns around and drops to a knee in a deep bow.
"What the fuck is going on? Who the fuck are—" Realization dawns on the woman as Charlie's eyes glow in response. The woman turns to look at Santana who refuses to look at her and she immediately tries to copy the position she's in.
Charlie doesn't say anything immediately as she just takes another long drag of her cigar and leans back in the chair. "What's your name?" She finally asks.
"C-Carol," She mumbles quickly, keeping her eyes on the ground. "I didn't know. I thought she was just—I mean—"
"What's that saying—ah, right ignorance of the law is no excuse." Charlie said as she got up and made her way towards Carol, removing the cigar from her lips as she gently slid a hand under Carol's chin and forced her to look at her. When she was in the right position she touched Carol's forehead, locking her muscles into place. She could see the strain of the fight as Carol attempted to break free, but there was no escape, not unless she willed it. She tilts her head at Santana, "Watch."
"Charlie—" Pain explodes on her face, and it takes Santana a moment to realize that she's been backhanded.
"I think you've lost the right to call me by name, don't you think?" Charlie questions. "I said watch. I never asked for you to open that whore mouth of yours Santana."
Tears sting Santana's eyes, Charlie had never hit her before at least never like this and never first. It was always a response to her getting physical, but she had crossed the line this time. ""Yes, your Majesty."
Charlie brings the cigar to her lips again and takes a long drag, creating a rather large cherry, which she inspects for a second. "You need to watch and see what you made me do, Santana. Everything that is about to happen is your fucking fault." Charlie said as she reached down and pressed the cherry of her cigar into Carol's eye. There is no screaming, Carol's mouth was sealed shut and she had paralyzed her vocal cords, all you could hear and smell was Carol's left eye burning, the sizzling is soon replaced by a pop as the pressure in her eye from the heat causes a gooey mess to run down her face.
Charlie removes the cigar and frowns and tosses it to the ground before simply digging her thumb into Carol's other eye. She exhales slowly as she removes her thumb and wipes it clean on Carol's shirt before she flicks Carol in the forehead, causing her entire body to explode, splattering all over the broken room and on Santana. She glances down at the mess and at Santana for a moment.
This wasn't the first time she'd seen Charlie do that, but it was the first time that she was certain that the threat was directed at her. "Your Majesty—mercy."
Charlie smiled, a big wide toothy grin. "No. I'm going to kill everyone that touched you, that saw you and turn this entire degenerate hotel into a hole in the ground. I told you that you were mine, and you go and do this."
If there was one thing Santana knew Charlie hated, it was excuses, and truthfully she didn't have one. She just needed to get Charlie past her rage, "I—" She flinches as Charlie grabs a fist full of her hair and yanks it back so she can look up at her.
"I don't want to hear your voice Santana, unless it's you confirming the number of sex addicts and whores that you let touch you. Do I make myself clear?"
Santana swallows and nods causing Charlie to release her roughly and she needs to catch herself as Charlie returns to her seat and waits. Tina had warned her, and she doubted very much that Tina had ratted her out unless Charlie had asked a direct question. "I have their names, I got the names of everyone I slept with, I will give them to you just—spare the rest of the people here. They didn't see what was yours, they didn't touch me. They aren't deserving of your wrath. Please."
Charlie taps on the arm of the couch and stares at Santana, "You want me to show them mercy?"
"Yes."
"Showing them mercy means that your punishment would be so much worse. Are you willing to deal with that?"
"Yes." Santana said immediately. "I'll do anything you ask."
"Your softness is a weakness Santana," Charlie said as she raised a hand and touched her communicator. "Kara, pull the Fury's out of the way and you clear out as well. Santana has graciously agreed to give me the names in return for mercy for all the corrupt sex addicts."
There is a pause before Kara sighed. 'Understood.'
Charlie leans back in the chair for a moment and taps her temple, "You were the last person I ever expected to betray me, and I don't even know how to look at you right now. Send the list of names to Tina, and then we'll leave."
"I didn't—" Santana bit her lip and flinched when Charlie's eyes glowed in response. "Yes your Majesty." She begins to get to her feet.
"Crawl."
Santana freezes, and turns to look at Charlie.
"This is what you wanted wasn't it?" Charlie says. "Crawl."
Her cheeks burn with humiliation as she returns to her knees and begins to crawl to get what she needed to hand to Tina, the only thing she could do was hope that her obedience brought Charlie back down to Earth. She finishes quickly and crawls back to Charlie, kneeling at her feet with the list she had written.
Taking the piece of paper Charlie scans the names and pauses for a second, "Fifteen people? Fuck you're a much bigger slut than I realized. Which one of these degenerate did you like the most?"
Santana burned with humiliation, "I—they weren't great. I faked my orgasms."
"Given your hair trigger when it comes to cumming, I don't believe you Santana and lies—"
"They weren't you!" Santana interjects. "None of them were you."
The words hang in the air for a moment and for one brief second, confusion crosses Charlie's face. "Then why would you let any of them fuck you? Why would you whore yourself out to any of these fuckheads? When they couldn't do what I could do? All I need to do is snap my fingers," Charlie said, doing just that as she watches as Santana's eyes widen and her hips buck. "And you'll cum."
Santana gasps in pleasure, her cheeks flushed with shame as the door opens and she looks up to see Tina standing at the doorway. Charlie had never brought people into their sexual games and certainly not any of the Fury's."
Tina immediately averted her gaze, "Your Majesty."
Charlie flicked the list at Tina, "Every last name on that list. You know what to do."
"Yes your Majesty," Tina said, catching the document and turning and leaving without sparing Santana a glance.
"Answer the question."
Santana immediately shook her head, she couldn't admit it. She had no idea how Charlie would react, and she doubted that it would make the situation better. "Forgive me."
"Answer the question."
"I can't," Santana admits.
"The correct word is won't," Charlie said as she got up, it didn't matter she would drag it out of Santana. "Come along."
Santana for once hesitated, it was brief but the anger and rage that flashes through Charlie's eyes—there was an emotion that she couldn't place that also flickers across Charlie's face for the briefest of moments, "If you're going to kill me, then just do it. I can't—I can't crawl in front of the Fury's I just can't—"
"It is rather bold to assume that your position is safe, given the fact that you betrayed me Santana." Charlie interjects abruptly. "And if I wanted you dead—" Charlie gestures to the bloody mist that was Carol. "You begged me for mercy for these poor unfortunate souls, and you promised me that you'd do anything. So if I want you to strip naked in front of the other Furies spread your legs, and start masturbating like the horny little slut you are—"
"Charlie, please." When Charlie glares at her and the tension becomes unbearable she hangs her head, "Your Majesty, please."
"Are you going to answer the question?" Charlie questioned.
"I can't."
"Then get on your hands and knees Santana, and fucking crawl," Charlie hisses pulling away from Santana, she needed to get away. She was close to fucking snapping, her fingers itched, she needed some fucking release and Santana was testing what was left of her frayed patience.
She can hear it in Charlie's voice, the low cracking. There would be no coming back from this, and she closes her eyes and begins to crawl towards the doorway. Before she can actually reach the door, a portal opens up underneath her sending her crashing into Charlie's bed and she glances up to see that Charlie has at least checked to make sure she didn't break her neck. But the portal closes up leaving her in the dark.
Almost immediately she tries to flame up, just so she could see which dungeon Charlie had thrown her into. But as the seconds pass, and nothing happens she quickly realizes that Charlie had taken her abilities away.
~ O ~
"Well that certainly explains why Mazikeen was complaining, you've been ruining all of her fun. Oh you've gone and killed Dromos—oh well. Between you and I he was an ambitious git. Maze is going to be disappointed, she had this whole plan for him."
Charlie's eyes glow and she turns to look at Lucifer, who was nudging a corpse with his foot. "Lucifer."
"When a Ruler of Hell comes, it's only good manners that they announce themselves before they go on a killing spree of my demons. I mean I'm not upset, but there may be others that would take offense. I'm sure you'll huff and puff about you'll kill them all but doesn't that get old?"
"He was plotting against me."
Lucifer looked at the corpse of his demon for a moment and then back at Charlie, "He's a demon, that's literally what they do," he points out flatly.
"Well he should fucking know better," Charlie grumbled and dropped her sword. "He was weak, compared to the Elder Gods that I slew—everyone is weak. My agitation grows—"
"Well I did warn you there would be consequences for killing an Elder God, and you killed several and were bathed in their blood. Their powers became yours, and I believe you have yet to truly scratch the surface, but be aware there are celestial beings with far more power than even I can fathom, and when they come there is no fighting. There is merely punishment, if you're lucky it's death. If you're not—" Lucifer shrugged. "Even dear old Dad needed to mind himself." Lucifer hummed. "Did you bring—"
Charlie opened a portal and pulled out a bottle of some high end bourbon and tossed it at him.
"Careful, you can't get this down in hell and I have to stay down here," Lucifer grumbles.
"So you don't want a case of it?"
Lucifer's eyes glow a bright red, "A gift for me, so tell me Empress Charlie of Earth what is it that you truly desire?"
Charlie's eyes glow in response and she looks away, breaking the hold he had over her. "I don't make deals with devils, Lucifer. You know that, it's why I've never made a deal with you. But I do owe you for—" Charlie gestures to one of the demons that she had killed.
Lucifer frowned, it's brief for a moment before looking around. "Where's your shadow?" When Charlie looks away, "Ah so that's why you're here. I'm a dear friend Charlie, there's no point in hiding your desires from me."
"Fulfilling my desires has left me alone. I desired the seat of Empress, fulfilling that desire—it doesn't taste as sweet as I thought it would. And I am alone, Santana has betrayed me."
Lucifer opened a bottle of bourbon and inhaled the aroma deeply, "Well, yes, betrayal from the ones we love always hurts the most. Do you have any idea how many times Mazikeen betrayed me?"
"She's a demon, that's literally what they do," Charlie retorts, throwing his words back in his face.
"Well, ever since she started to produce hellfire, she may as well be one of those demons. No mortal should be able to deal in hellfire, it eats at the soul. You are an anomaly that I am still curious about." Lucifer hums before taking a sip and letting out a groan. "What would I have to do for a case?"
"I don't make deals with devils," Charlie reminds him as she opens another portal and snaps her fingers as several massive casks appear. There were literal tears in Lucifer's eyes and she can't help but roll her eyes, "I do not love Santana."
Lucifer pauses for a moment, and he stares at her. "Well it doesn't matter if you lie to my face, I can see the deepest desires of your heart. What did she do anyway? Try and come for the crown?"
"She showed people what was mine, she allowed them to touch what was mine. And there's a part of me that wants to destroy her, to make her into an example. But the practical side of me realizes that losing Santana means that my Fury's will be without a leader, and I can't trust Kara to do it. She wouldn't last very long in hell; the lack of a sun makes her a liability."
"Was she aware—"
"She knew what she was doing, she hid it from me. She knew that I would not approve and did it anyway, and she refuses to tell me why. She can't. She fucking won't and it makes me want to break her and find out the reason."
"She's in love with you."
"Everyone loves me, I'm the Empress."
Lucifer pauses, "Ah, I can see why Linda found me a difficult patient. You know that isn't quite true. You're an Empress by definition you have enemies that do not love you and wish for your downfall."
"I meant all my loyal subjects—"
"You were exiled, came back, killed your grandmother, your grandfather, your parents, and your three sisters—Charlie my dear, I say this knowing that it will probably make you upset but you are not loved, you are feared."
Charlie looked up at the dreary sky, hell didn't have a sun. It didn't have stars, when she looked up all she could see was the vast nothingness. It was meant to put things in perspective, "Everybody lies." She decides after a moment. "I want your ability. The ability to see into the hearts of men."
Lucifer smiled, "You don't want this ability, I barely want this ability. To see what men truly desire, I mean yes, usually it's me naked. I mean look at me, Empress."
Charlie glances at him, "I don't see it."
"I will have you know—" Lucifer exhaled, "No, you've never liked men. I shouldn't be offended. But the heart of man is dark and twisted, and sure most people will want to fuck you but you'll also see what is that they want from you. They take and they take, and don't get me started on the hearts of those that simply want to watch the world burn. No this power isn't the boon that you think it is and I will not trade it for some cheap booze."
"That is top shelf booze," Charlie scoffs. "As if I'd drink anything less. I do not have a need for those that fear me. And quite frankly I do not actually need my Fury's to protect me." Charlie mused. "Thank you Lucifer for your clarity."
"I fear that you may not have taken the correct message from my words."
"For once, I disagree. Thank you Lucifer, I threw something in there for Mazikeen, as an apology for taking her prey."
Before Lucifer can respond Charlie simply disappears leaving him all the booze she had brought from Earth. "Well I mean you could have made sure that you actually had it," he mutters mostly to himself. She'd probably be back. Hopefully with more booze.
~ O ~
Falling through a portal was never fun, and the bright lights hurt her eyes as she blinks and realizes that Charlie is sitting on her throne with Kara beside her. She glances at Kara who immediately looks away. There would be no reprieve, and she never should have expected Kara to save her. Which meant that she needed to plead directly with Charlie who had an unreadable expression on her features, but she needed her powers back. She had never felt so vulnerable without them, and she had no idea what Charlie had planned for her. "Your Majesty—"
"Tina."
Tina appears and drops several bags in front of Santana with her back to Charlie she quickly mouths a quick apology before she withdraws.
It's her stuff, her go bag, and everything she has so she can follow Charlie on the drop of a hat. She looks up at Charlie as her heart breaks, "Your Majesty—Charlie, I have been loyal to you."
"Get out. I don't give a shit where you go, or who you decide to whore yourself off to for protection. Never show your face in front of me again." Charlie said as she stood to her feet and simply walked out.
Santana gets to her feet ready to follow Charlie regardless, if she just explained herself and her jealousy maybe Charlie wouldn't just discard her—but before she can take a step Kara is in front of her shoving her to the ground. "Move. I just—"
"Make me." Kara says watching as Santana desperately tries to flame up. "She took your abilities away, which makes you—useless to her. What were you thinking?"
Santana gets up, she'd been trained by Granny Goodness she didn't need her powers, but when she tries to get past Kara again she's knocked back down, and she cries out in pain as she lands hard on her wrist, and clutches it.
"Shit, I forgot how weak most people are. But you aren't going to get past me without your abilities, and you certainly aren't going to get to her." Kara frowned. Lena was more durable and she didn't have any powers.
"I know you hate me, but if she just lets me explain—I can't—please. Just let me talk to her. Please."
"And let you make this situation infinitely worse? You were her favorite, she favored you above everyone else. She showered you with attention, with her affection, as twisted as it is. Look I don't really care why you did what you did but even now she's still protecting you. The Fury's are gone. There is no one left, there is no reeducation, there is no nothing. She dissolved her entire security force, She paid every Fury two years' salary and she dismissed everyone just like that. I'm not even sure if I have a job anymore, so you need to fucking go. So I'm not exactly in the mood to break the rules for you. You need to go. You've done enough."
Santana's jaw dropped and she tried to look past Kara, "What—I just, how long was I in there for?"
"It's been three days, Santana, she fired everyone yesterday. She has no staff, and she emptied her harem. You need to leave and find somewhere safe. There are at least 2 dozen ex-Fury's who want your head. They just lost one of the better paying jobs, not to mention the prestige of being a Fury. What did you think was going to happen here when she found out? It's Charlie she always finds out."
"I didn't want to be her concubine."
"Guess what, you're no longer her concubine. You're just like everyone else to her. Nothing." Kara stated. "Tina will help you get to where you need to go, and keep you safe long enough for the ex-Fury's to calm down and use their heads." Kara shakes her head. "You were the most powerful woman in the country before you went on your idiotic sexcation. You were untouchable, why do you think the Wakandans and everyone approached you? Everyone knows how Charlie is. How she can get, and yet they knew you were the only one who got her to see reason. Hell even the Fury's were changing their tune about you. Dani didn't command the same respect that you did, and nobody, not even myself can keep Charlie in check. I can maybe stop her worst impulses. But you knew exactly what to say to make her stop and get past her impulses, and now she doesn't have you. We're all fucked because you couldn't just tell her that you love her. It was never going to be Charlie who said it first, she views love as a weakness but if it was you—" Kara shook her head. "I've said more than enough, you know how to contact me if you need me. But I'll only save your ass once. I mean you did take one of my eyes." Kara said with a scoff. "You're lucky Lena finds pirate-me sexy."
"I can fix this, just let me—" But before she can finish, she finds herself at a bus station before all of her bags and things are thrown at her feet by Kara.
"I hope you find what you're looking for Santana. And I hope to god it's worth the fact that the world will go up in flames because of you."
~ O ~
There's a brief knock on the door, and Santana hesitates for a moment and glances at the gun that Tina had given her, it was her only sense of protection, and she kept it nearby at all times. It wouldn't do much to stop most of the top Fury's but it would stop someone who had similar abilities, still she picks it up and points it to the ground as she slowly makes her way to the door. She glances through the peephole, it wasn't the best neighborhood, but she wasn't exactly rolling in money at the moment, and there weren't a lot of nice apartments in decent neighborhoods that would allow traitors into the building, and she was persona non-grata nearly everywhere.
But instead of an angry ex-Fury, the only person at the door appears to be her mother, and she marks a face. She didn't want to talk to her. She wasn't sure what she had expected from her parents, they had never exactly been supportive, but when it had been announced that she was a traitor, her parents had kicked her out. She had brought shame to the family and her parents weren't going to let her taint their careers.
To be discarded by the woman she loved and her parents, it hurt, it burned more than anything. She begins to pull away, she could at least understand Charlie's anger, she had just expected them to fuck it out. She hadn't expected Charlie to surgically remove her from her life.
"Santana, I know you're in there. Your mail is still coming to the house, you need to change your address. Our house was vandalized already, and I've been removed from several high profile cases, due to your actions."
The words sting and she can't help but open the door letting it hit the wall as she glares at her mother, "I get it, you're upset with me but I just lost everything, all my friends, I've lost my family I've lost—I lost her, so this guilt trip about how your life is over, rings a bit false. My reputation is in tatters and I can't even get a semi-decent job because I've been labeled a traitor!"
"Then perhaps you should have thought of that before you decided to betray the Empress. What did you think would happen?"
Santana narrowed her eyes, she was done being lectured by a woman who only cared about what others thought of her. "You want the truth? I thought she'd fuck me. That's what she always did when I pissed her off, and she was very good at it. Like that's the problem, everyone keeps telling me that I wasn't good enough for her, and that I was just her whore, but I've seen how she treated her whores, and I was special and I let everyone else get into my head. I felt that I needed to find someone because at some point she would trade me in for a younger model. I got insecure and I fucked a bunch of people, I figured she'd get upset, she'd be wonderfully vicious in bed, and eventually forgive me. It didn't cross my mind that she would consider it treason."
"This isn't a mere lovers spat, if it were she wouldn't have taken your abilities. A daughter who doesn't have any power? You were our only child and we pinned such hopes—"
"Yes, your hopes. I didn't ask to be born and I'm not going to let you make me feel like shit. I fucked up. But nothing I did was deserving of having everything I worked for taken away."
Maribel tossed the envelopes at her daughter, "They called her the Mad Dog of the Imperial family for a reason. The only person who could hold onto her leash was the former Empress. If you didn't think for a second that your actions could cost you everything, then you deserve everything that you received." With that Maribel turns and leaves, she doesn't feel safe in such squalor. She was certain that this place had roaches, not to mention whatever pests. Everyone had a home, no one said that the home had to be up to standards. But this was a fitting place for a traitor, especially someone with no abilities.
Santana sighs and wipes away the angry tears before picking up the letters and closing the door. She sinks down with her back to the door and flicks through the letters she's received before stopping one that looks like it's from the Imperial Family and immediately tears it open carefully. Maybe Charlie had changed her mind, maybe she was asking her to come back. It's a simple piece of paper and she quickly unfolds it, realizing that it's a check for services rendered, and she quickly scans the document, and she can feel her heart shatter further.
For Services Rendered.
It had the Imperial stamp, it had Charlie's stamp on it. This had crossed Charlie's desk and it had been stamped, which meant that she knew about it. Charlie read everything that came across her desk, it would have been so easy to simply tear up the money. She was a traitor, even if there was no bounty on her head, it was a death sentence. Charlie had simply chosen a slow death for her, to die in a self-imposed exile where she would simply fade into the background.
And she was still loyal. She wasn't furious at the Empress, how could she be? Kara had been right, Charlie was never going to be romantic, she was never going to tell her how much she meant to her. But the other Fury's jealousy was proof that she had been important to Charlie. The fact that she was still alive was also further proof that she had held a special place in Charlie's heart, even if the Empress wasn't aware.
Kara had acted out of turn multiple times, and had even challenged Charlie publicly, and yet Kara had been forgiven. It had cost Kara an eye—at least until Charlie got bored of making pirate jokes and fixed it for Kara. She had been Charlie's favorite knight, her only knight and she wanted to be back by her side. She needed to earn her place back at her side.
She glances at the check for a moment, she'd use it to get to the only person who could help her. Whether or not Illyana would was another thing entirely.
