The next day rolls around smoothly. Olga walks into a new place, this time, she does away with her trench coat, exposing her dark exorcist uniform. She was on her way for a meeting with the Jujutsu higher-ups.
She isn't exactly thrilled by the prospect of having to meet old men that literally hide behind closed doors. She understands that this society has to maintain a level of secrecy, however, to her, the Jujutsu higher-ups come off as weak individuals.
Why hide behind a door when you have the strength to protect yourself?
The mentality was different within the Secret Church as Olga's superiors did not cower in showing their faces during important meetings.
It was a simple truth that anyone within the Secret Church had nothing to lose because of their belief in the Lord, so they were a fearless bunch.
This aspect of the Secret Church has also made Olga think of them as die-hard fools, blinded by their faith.
"What are you thinking so deeply about, sister Olga?" Satoru said as he planted himself right in front of Olga, seemingly coming out of nowhere.
Olga stared unimpressed at the man in front of her. She didn't care to correct him in his address to her.
"Are you going to show me the place?" She's straight to the point.
He grins, taking her hands in his before commenting. "Your hands are rough sister Olga, do you not put cream on them?"
"I don't have the time," Olga responded coldly.
Olga could feel a sudden spike of curse energy as they were transported to another location. She knew this had to be one of Satoru's cursed techniques since she knew he possesses the power to move or manipulate matter was exclusively his. In a blink of an eye, they shifted to a place with a secluded entrance.
"Apparently I'm not allowed to teleport myself in there which is irritating, so we'll have to go there on foot, Olga," Satoru explained as he let her hand go.
She notes the change in his address to her, but doesn't bring it up.
Olga nods her head as she follows Satoru into the traditional Japanese 3-tier level building.
As soon as they step inside, the door behind them immediately closes shut as they are whisked into a black whirlpool with the only illuminated thing being the doors that formed a circle and the light shining onto the inner circle.
The concentration of cursed energy in the place was high as if someone had casted a domain. Though Olga may have stretched that assumption. It wasn't a domain, it was just the wonders of different sets techniques casted in that room that gave it such an ominous atmosphere while being dense with cursed energy.
She depicts the scene before her simulating an interrogation room of sorts. Though the setting was different it felt just like any other courtroom, where Olga would be put on the pedestal as they bombard her with questions. The men behind the doors would criticise her based on her answers, but she could care less about their opinions on her.
"Olga you'll–" Even without Satoru's direction, Olga already knew where to take her place in this setting.
She stands at attention in the spot-light, her gaze lowered to the ground, closing her eyes only momentarily.
Getting this over and done with was her biggest priority now.
An instrumental gong resonates in the room as a booming voice begins the meeting. "THE REVIEW OF THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SECRET CHURCH COMMENCES"
The first round of questions begins.
"Olga, as the representative of the Secret Church, what is your purpose in seeking to monitor the curse vessel? And what evidence do you have to support your claim that he requires your observation?"
Olga reopens her eyes, already anticipating the question. "The Secret Church does not intend to involve themselves in this matter. It is my personal request to be here. Observing Itadori Yuji was because he has the infamous cursed spirit residing within him. Sukuna poses a threat unlike any other. If he were to regain his full strength, your best wouldn't be able to exorcise him due to unforeseen circumstances, I am willing to take on that task,"
Satoru lets out a dramatic gasp at Olga's statement. "Hey, don't underestimate my abilities. I'll be the one to exorcise Sukuna. It doesn't matter if he is at 20 fingers, I am definitely stronger."
The woman simply rolled her eyes at the enigmatic sorcerer. Sighs were also clearly audible. Even if his claim was the truth, she would still exorcise Sukuna should a situation calls for it.
To Olga, it was part of her duty as a holy exorcist.
However, she wouldn't try killing Sukuna immediately should he take over Yuji.
Moving on to the next question.
"Olga, as the strongest holy exorcist of the Secret Church, what skills or abilities do you possess that would be of use to the jujutsu sorcerers?"
She brushes her fingers on her lips as she contemplates this particular question. Olga didn't seem to panic as the question, to her, was something she had expected. She puts her hands down as she concludes a way to frame her answer.
"The teachings of the Secret Church are absolute and sacred for a holy exorcist. In my oath as a woman of the Lord, I am not permitted to share such information." She rolls up the sleeve of her uniform, brandishing the crimson marks decorated on her arms. "The oath is the the only miracle holy exorcist are allowed to possess,"
"Then how exactly useful can you prove to be?" An old man's raspy voice draws.
With a calculative turn, she faces the door that she heard was the source of the voice. "I am sorry if you misinterpret what I meant, the miracle that is this oath cannot be divulged to anyone, however, a person may be able to witness the oath in action. So if a situation arises, I will be prepared."
Her tone was not explicitly criticising but to Satoru, he found it entertaining to watch as someone else besides him, openly challenged the higher-ups like this.
"It is a matter of faith. But I am not asking you to trust in me blindly. By all means, look at me with contempt. But if I am regarded with a little bit of your trust, my abilities will speak for itself," She explains.
Olga's words hang in the air. The higher-ups seem to contemplate her response, their expressions hidden behind closed doors. After a tense moment, another voice speaks up.
"Olga, it seems that you hold firm to your faith and the secrecy of your abilities. We will consider your request to monitor the curse vessel and your potential contribution to the jujutsu sorcerers. However, we have one more question for you."
Olga maintains her composed posture, waiting for the final inquiry.
"What is your true objective in involving yourself with the curse vessel? We have reason to believe that there may be ulterior motives behind your request."
The question hits Olga directly, and for a moment, she stays silent.
But an unreadable smile stretches on her face.
"I won't lie, I'm doing this all for leisure."
The room falls into complete silence as Olga's unexpected response hangs in the air. The higher-ups behind the doors exchange perplexed glances, unable to fully comprehend her statement.
Satoru, who had been observing the entire exchange with great interest, couldn't help but burst into laughter. His amusement echoes through the room, breaking the tension.
"Oh, I like this one!" Satoru exclaims, chuckling. "She's refreshingly honest."
"Life is too short to take everything so seriously, wouldn't you agree?" Her smile disappears.
The principal, who had been quietly observing the proceedings, raises an eyebrow at Olga's response. He wasn't quite sure what to make of her answer, but he sensed that there was more to it than a mere leisurely pursuit.
The voice from behind the doors, tinged with a hint of skepticism, speaks up once again. "Ms. Olga, we appreciate your candor, but we require a more concrete explanation for your involvement with the curse vessel. The potential risks and consequences are significant, and we cannot simply rely on leisure as a justification."
Olga's expression turns serious as she addresses the voice. "I understand the gravity of the situation, and I assure you that I am fully committed to fulfilling my duty as a holy exorcist. My true objective is to ensure the safety of both the curse vessel and the people around him. The church's teachings have instilled in me a sense of responsibility, and I believe that my presence here can contribute to that goal."
This was the general drilled-in answer for holy exorcists. Although to the Jujutsu higher-ups, Olga was able to convince them with just this much.
The room falls into silence once more as the higher-ups contemplate Olga's response. After a moment of deliberation, the voice from behind the doors speaks again.
"Very well, Ms. Olga. We will grant you permission to monitor the curse vessel, but under strict supervision and guidelines. Your actions will be closely monitored, and any deviation from the agreed-upon terms will result in immediate termination of your involvement. Do we have your understanding?"
Olga nods her head, her determination evident in her eyes. "Affirmative."
With the decision made, the entrance door to the room slowly creaks open, signaling the end of the meeting.
"We shall be watching you, Ms. Olga," one of them says, their tone filled with both caution and curiosity.
Olga gives a respectful nod before turning to leave the dark room with Satoru following closely behind her. As they step out into the open area, Satoru can't contain his excitement any longer.
"I must say, Olga, you certainly know how to make an entrance. Leisure, huh? That's a new one," he says, his tone filled with amusement.
Olga's expression turns expressionless despite the words she uttered. "Life is too short to be bound by expectations, Satoru. Sometimes, a little unpredictability is… worthwhile,"
