Stay

Chapter 2

authors note : I have a storyline planned. Some things that happened in the show will happen. Others will be my idea. Thank you.

I think when it's all over. It all comes back in flashes.

It's a kaleidoscope of memories.

It just all comes back.

"Life and circumstances change all the time. Just because you're on you're own right now doesn't mean it will stay that way for the rest of you're life."

"You're only 23 after all. I've never known Brooke Davis to quit or throw a pity party. I doubt you're starting now. I'm glad you can be so honest with me." Lucas proclaimed.

"I came back to town because i want a family."

"I have money. Success. Status. But none of that really means anything if you're alone. I had that high rise in New York."

"I ate breakfast and dinner in it alone every day when i wasn't working. I thought at some point that feeling would sink in."

"I had everything i wished for yet i wasn't happy. I was miserable."

"So i boarded a plane and moved home. Opened my store."

"There's a void in my life. I want to be a mother." Brooke admitted.

"I wish i could help. Or offer advice here. I know what it's like growing up with a single mom and it's all on you. I know you can handle it." Lucas replied.

"Actually honestly. You can help me." Brooke began to say.

...

Nathan spit out his morning coffee. As the brothers sat down for their weekly catch up once a week outing.

"She wants you to pretend to be her husband. For how long?" Nathan asked.

"Single parents can adopt but it'll look better if she's in a couple."

"So she wants to adopt. It'll look better all around." Lucas explained.

"Alright i can understand that. Marriage of convenience"

"Name and title only. " Nathan replied.

"I agreed. "It's not like i have anything going on. I was left at the alter. Peyton and I are in a weird place."

"Brooke is a good close friend." Lucas added in.

...

"You know i came home for Lucas and you want him as you're husband.?" Peyton questioned.

"In name only. I explained this. Lucas is doing me a favor."

"We're friends." Brooke stated matter of fact.

...

A marriage of convenience is a marriage contracted for reasons other than that of love and commitment.
