Been about three years since I dated you

"This is really happening. He's going to be here in just a few days."

"They are going to approve us for the adoption. Once he's here. They will check back in 6 months. I can't believe it."

"I'm nervous and excited. I want him to like me." Brooke proclaimed.

Lucas reached out taking her hand in his. "He'll love you in time. Sounds like he's had a rough start and may test rules and boundaries. That's to be expected with little kids but especially in a situation like this." He replied.

"So we have to stay married for at least 6 months. Once that's over. We can get the marriage annueled and we can both move on." Brooke explained.

"That's not so impossible. Well I can head out at night. Once he's asleep. He's going to be staying in the only spare bedroom. Sleeping on the couch would be weird." Lucas replied.

"It would be alot more strange for you to just leave at night. We can just share my bed. Upstairs. It's big and we each have own seperate sides." Brooke explained.

"We can be adults about this and not make things complicated or uncomfortable." Lucas replied.

Brooke swallowed hard. " We dated as teenagers. That was another lifetime ago. I want this arrangement to work but i don't want me and him to become you're obligation or burden."

"You don't owe us anything." She explained.

"I want to make this work for you and him. To make it believeable."

"Playing pretend. I can do that." Lucas replied.

"Maybe a little too well? What exactly was that. The two boys and a girl. Growing our family. You were just saying what they wanted to hear right.?" Brooke asked.

"Of course what else would that be.?" Lucas replied as he turned from her and left the home.

Lucas sighed deeply Once he arrived at his house.

Peyton was there awaiting hin on the porch.

"Are we going to talk about the kiss we shared before you're wedding to Lindsey."

"You kissed me back. I asked if you still loved me."

"You didn't say no. Which tells me i have a chance."

"Lindsey's out of town now. This is our chance Luke."

"I messed up. I said no to proposal back then. But things are different now. I should of said yes." Peyton admitted.

"I don't hate. It was hard letting you go and losing you."

"True love Always." Lucas proclaimed.

"We have making up to do." Peyton insisted.

Lucas then explained what his new reality with Brooke would look like.

Peyton' eyes bugged out of his head.

"6 months. Of you and her playing house with a kid."

"That's not fair to me. You don't need to put you're life on hold for a stranger." Peyton replied.

"What do you want from me then?" Lucas asked.

"We should be making up for lost time not wasting it on some kid that you have no obligation too."

"You aren't Brooke's boyfriend. Or husband for that matter." Peyton stated matter of fact.
