Peyton was taken off guard by Lucas's announcement.

"We haven't been romantically involved since that kiss which feels ancient at this point. But there is no reason we can't be friends." She replied.

"Brooke put you up to this. It wasn't enough that i." Peyton began to say.

"Brooke isn't making me do anything. I choose to not have you in my life anymore. There is nothing more to then that."

"Grandma Karen let me taste test." Ethan announced. When arrived by his father's side.

"You're order will be ready in just a few minutes. Brooke called me and told me the news."

"I'm overjoyed for you and her." Karen said.

"Thanks mom. It's news we didn't expect but couldn't be more ready for." Lucas replied.

"Care to share Karen. What's the news that Brooke seems to be broadcasting.?" Peyton asked.

"I should go check on you're order." Karen replied. Ignoring Peyton.

Lucas sighed deeply hearing his phone ring.

"I'll be right back son. Stay right here." Lucas instructed.

As he made his way outside to the front of the cafe.

Peyton glared at the boy. "If i wanted Lucas would come back to me. He asked me to marry him. He loved me for a long time."

"Before he ever met Brooke." She said.

"Why do you call my parents by their first names. Their my mom and dad.?" Ethan asked.

"Because they aren't really you're parents. They felt bad for you so they decided to take care of you. Ask them." Peyton insisted.

She made her way out of the cafe with a satisfied grin.

"Sorry bud. I had to talk to my editor. It'll be just the three of us for awhile. The order should be ready now. I'm going to go pick it up." Lucas explained.

Ethan nodded his head in agreement. Lucas soon came back with the desert box and reached out to hold.

Ethan's hand. "I'm not a baby. I can walk to the car by myself." He replied.
