Chapter 24
Authors Note : What a ride and its far from over yet.
The cost was so much more then i could bear.
We all began with good intent.
Love was raw and young.
"Lucas. The babies. What's going on.?" Brooke asked. Her voice soft.
Lucas took a deep breath. Taking her hand in his. Tears pooling in his eyes.
"Our son is perfect. He's in the nursery. I can have him brought in soon. Our daughter." Lucas began to say.
"I remember she has my stubborness. She wanted to have all the spotlight. I have their going home outfits ready to go."
"Ethan is going to be so excited. He's been keeping track of days and he made a list of all the stuff he wants to do with them."
"He said she could join the tree house too." Brooke said.
"What's happening with her.? The birth took a turn i know something happened. Just tell me Luke." Brooke insisted.
"They don't know if she's going to make it. They are doing what they can but. Pregnancy complications. We knew something could happen. You almost died Brooke."
"They had move me out of there. You're eyes closed. There were machines going off."
"It took all my strength and self control to leave the both of you."
"I had to choose. You or her. I never wanted to have to decide." Lucas explained. The emotion in his voice thick.
Brooke's face went blank. "We talked about this. Hours before i went into labor!" "I had my life! You were supposed to pick her.!" She exclaimed.
"Our son needs you and so do I." Lucas replied. Tears falling from his eyes.
"I asked you for one thing Lucas. Why couldn't you just let me go!" Brooke exclaimed. Tears falling from her eyes. As she pulled her hand from his.
"Brooke. Please. Try to understand what i had to do."
"I'm going to have our son brought in." Lucas replied.
He quickly composed himself and left the hospital room. Heading towards the nursery.
