Chapter 34
authors note : You can only distract yourself with love making for so long until. You have to face reality. And that's difficult for both of them. But they have to face it. No matter where it leads.
Forgiveness is never easy. Bitterness is easy. Hatred is easy. But forgiveness, that's a tough one
We had used the bed as a retreat. But once morning arrived we couldn't avoid what we weren't talking about.
She went go shower in one bathroom. And i used the other.
I finished first and got dressed. Brooke was still in the shower.
I just needed to get this off my chest and leave it there.
I went to my side of the bed and got my cellphone from the end table. I decided to take the call in the hallway.
It didn't feel right doing it in our suite especially after what we shared only hours earlier.
I clutched the phone to my ear.
"It's me. I wanted to check in with you. I heard about the seperation and i'm sorry." Lucas said.
Peyton thought her cellphone would fall from her hands.
She hadn't expected to hear from Lucas at all.
"Thank you for checking in on me. He left us Luke." Peyton admitted.
"What happened Peyton i thought everything was working out.?" Lucas asked.
He wasn't you. She wanted admit but didn't.
"We just didn't work out. Everyone in this town basically hates me besides my dad." Peyton said.
"You aren't completly alone Peyton. You have Ellie and you'll have me. I was that kid raised by a single mom so i want help when and if you need it." Lucas proclaimed.
Peyton felt her heart jump into her throat.
"I'll be seeing you." Peyton said. As the call between them ended.
"There you are. What were you too.?" Brooke asked with a smile.
"Checking in on the kids. We should order breakfast then head out and check out everything this island has to offer." Lucas proclaimed.
