Stay
Chapter 41
authors note : I love this story. This family. More to come. Thank you.
The heart has a long memory
I dropped off Ethan at the middle school. Since it was closer to my work. And Brooke dropped off the twins at preschool. Since it was closer to the store. We shared custody fully and it took some adjusting on both sides but we had the system down by now.
Over the past couple of years Lucas had grown alot more comfortable with therapy and stopped seeing it as a chore and instead a part of his weekly routine.
The man laughed putting down his pen and notepad.
"I'm being honest. Very much so. I meant it. I have no interest in dating. My career is time consuming. My editor is all over me about drafts and deadlines. I have three kids i'm raising with my ex wife."
"Dating. A romantic relationship requires a level of commitment i don't have." Lucas admitted.
His session ended soon after that. He booked his next session before leaving the office. And making his way to work.

"She's in the back. Go right in." Brooke said.
Mouth made his way into the back room
There he found Rachel. At the sight of him. She lit up.
Mouth engulfed her into a hug.
"I'm here. What were you trying to say but didn't.?" Mouth asked.
Rachel took a breath and looked to him.
"I'm pregnant." Rachel announced.
The expression on Mouth's face softened.
"I hope it's a boy. I think one verison of me is enough." Rachel added in.
Mouth put his hand on her flat stomach.
"Mom and dad." He said.
Rachel put her hand on his. She never saw herself as the marriage or motherhood kind. But his love support and believe in her.
Tuned out the negative.

Hours Later
The Davis Home
"I want to hear everything about you're first day." Brooke announced. As the Scott children came through the entryway.
"We both do. " Lucas said.
His kids running towards him. This was their week with their mom. So they didn't expect to see him until next week.
Lucas hugged them tightly. "Snacks and drinks are waiting in the kitchen. But first go put away you're things. I'm hanging out until bedtime." He announced.
When she saw him with their kids. She knew him being the father was the best decision she had ever made. Along with marrying him.
But that didn't matter at this point.
Once the kids were out of sight and upstairs.
She looked to him. "You can stick around you know. For the kids."
"You know where the guest room is. I always have the drawers full of night clothes." Brooke suggested.
"I wouldn't want to intrude on you're time with them." Lucas replied.
"It's no problem. You're already staying for dinner." Brooke replied.
"Okay i will." Lucas said.
