Chapter 42
Hours Later
Lucas was tossing and turning. Unable to shut out her voice.
(It was the only way Lucas.) Peyton said.
He is unable to stop himself. The gun he brought with him kills her. He makes sure of it. And at last it's quiet.
His hands shaking as he calls Brooke. He can't get the words out all at once.
His mind is consumed with thoughts. But he feels empty inside.
(It's Peyton.) He says. Before ending the call.
Eventually Brooke gets to his home. It was his week with them.
The front door is broken into. She goes inside and calls out to Lucas.
She finds him upstairs. In the hallway.
Lucas is unable to go near near the rooms again.
(What happened! Where are they!) Brooke exclaimed.
(She killed them.) Lucas says.
Brooke cries turn to screams as he keeps her form going into the bedrooms.
(Let go of me!) Brooke exclaimed. Crying and pushing against him.
Beating his chest.
Brooke 's raw emotion is all he can see and hear.
Lucas then wakes up in a cold sweat. His pillow wet with tears. He leaves the guest room and checks in on the children who are fast asleep
The nightmares were returning. They left Lucas in a panic painful state.
Brooke awoke to the echo of Lucas pacing in the hallway.
