(Momma you're home.) Ethan said. With a smile as he came down the stairs.

Brooke engulfed him into a hug.

(I am. I brought home dinner. Could you set the table and get out the drinks for me?) Brooke asked.

Yes momma.) Ethan replied.

(Hopefully the Brendan and Brenda are up from their naps by now.)

(How did everything go today?) Brooke asked.

As Lucas entered the entryway. (I'm savoring it all. They will return to school in another week. And then I plan to go back to my house. I need to face reality. Stop crowding you.) Lucas announced.

(You're not crowding me. I already told you. My home is you're home.) Brooke replied.

(I know and I don't deserve how amazing you've been.)

(Can we talk after dinner?) Lucas asked.

Lucas didn't want to bring up his Peyton encounter at dinner.

That was family time. And they all enjoyed that.

But once the meal was over and the children were upstairs having their dessert.

Lucas requested that they talk privately.

(Peyton came by to see me. And mentioned that Ellie and Brenda had some playdate set up. She wanted to confirm it.) Lucas mentioned.

(Brenda never mentioned a playdate. And I thought you wanted nothing to do with her.)

(Maybe she's changed. I don't really know her anymore. And if Brenda and Ellie are friends.)

(I should make an effort to make sure she isn't a stranger. We can be adults about this.) Lucas proclaimed.
