Brooke decided in that moment to take Ellie to the store with her for the day.
Brooke noticed after awhile. Brenda 's mood and spirit lifted.
Brooke left the store with Brenda by her side. They went to the cafe for lunch.
Brooke waited for their to go order while Brenda clung to her mother's side.
Brendan was more outgoing. Brenda was more shy especially around strangers.
Once they got back to the store. Brooke made a point to wait until they finished eating before bringing up where this outburst came from.
That wasn't like her daughter at all.
(How are you feeling mini B?) Brooke asked.
(Better. I love being with you.) Brenda replied.
(Why don't you like going to school anymore?) Brooke asked.
Brenda 's smile then turned to a frown.
(They all follow her and leave me out.)
(She doesn't like me. She's mean to me momma.) Brenda said.
Brooke felt a wave of anger wash over her just hearing some kid target her daughter.
She had to take a deep breath.
(Who's mean to you honey?) Brooke asked.
(Ellie Sawyer. And she gets the other kids to be mean too.) Brenda revealed.
Brooke felt something inside her snap.
Brooke engulfed her little girl in a hug.
Brenda hugged her back.
(I just want her to leave me alone.) Brenda confessed. Tears falling from her eyes.
Brooke wiped away her daughter's tears.
Looking into her eyes as she spoke.
(Momma 's going to fix this. I promise.) Brooke reassured her.

Felt so strange. It would take time for this to feel like his house again.
