Stay
Chapter 58
Lucas brought it up. The idea of us going to dinner alone and I knew what he was implying but I still wanted him to say it.
That this impending time together was different. And it was the start of something more.
(I would label it a date but I know how you like non-exclusive. So we can just call I dinner alone.)
(On a rooftop. Overlooking town. At one of you're favorite restaurants.) Lucas replied.
(I accept. And I'll be fashionably late. And you will be nervously early.) Brooke replied.
(What makes you think you make me nervous?) Lucas asked.
(I know you alot better than you think. This is no pressure no expectation.) Brooke replied.
(Just reconnecting.) Lucas said
...
Haley happily smiled as Lucas revealed the dinner him and Brooke were planning to have.
(Nate and I would love to have the kids over. It's been too long plus. Our children are going to be with Grandma Deb.) Haley announced.
(That would be great. I'll let Brooke know. Thank Nathan for me.) Lucas replied.
...
Later on that day
Brooke tried on outfit after outfit and still couldn't find the right one.
Why are you nervous. He's you're ex husband. And he won't care what you have on. Brooke thought to herself.
(What are we doing?) Brenda asked. As she entered her mom's bedroom.
(I'm trying to figure out what to wear.I have an outing to get ready for with daddy.) Brooke explained.
Brenda placed on one of mom's hat's and put on one of the pair of shoes that were around.
The bed and near the closet were covered in clothing.
(Ethan told me and Brendan that you and daddy were going on a date.)
(What's that.?) Brenda asked.
...
(It's about time the two of you came to you're senses.)
(I think enough time and growth has happened so this can work out.)
(I hope it does.) Rachel said.
The expression on Lucas's face softened.
(Thanks. And I'm sorry for what I said back then and what it caused.)
(There is no excuse for what I said. I know I hurt you and you didn't deserve that.)
(Why didn't you tell her I mean even now she still doesn't know?) Lucas questioned.
The expression on Rachel 's face softened.
(It would do no good to anyone to know that. Relapsing was a choice. I made.)
(Regardless of you're words. I'm Brooke 's friend but I'm also yours.) Rachel explained.
...
Ethan found it searching through the mail. For a magazine he had subscribed too.
An envelope with his name on the front. But the last name wasn't Scott.
He took the envelope and his magazine. And went straight into his bedroom.
He placed his backpack by the front door. Sat down on the bed.
And tore open the envelope.
Dear Ethan.
I've wanted and tried to write to you so many times. I wasn't sure if I would ever mail this.
Ethan Samuel Walker. When I looked into you're eyes when you were born. I gave you that name.
You are the greatest thing you're dad and I ever did.
We got tore apart and I'm sorry about that. You're dad and I made alot of mistakes.
But there has not been a day in 12 years. That we didn't miss you and love you.
If you can find it in you to forgive us. Meet me and we'll make up for lost time.
Love mom.
