Here is the second Chapter for you. I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 2

"What are you idiots doing? I thought you guys had done your job."

"We did,..."

"Then why is this Williams guy jumping around all healthy? I just saw him outside his ex's house." "I don't get it, the Camaro went off the cliff. The way he looked, nobody survives that."

"I don't know what you guys were doing, you probably pushed the wrong guy off the cliff. Now up and do it right this time."

Danny and Chin have unloaded all the boxes. Kono and Rachel are unpacking them with Grace and Charly. The two kids are beside themselves with joy that their parents are finally reunited. Chin and Danny help out until Rachel shoos them out of the house.

"What do you say, Danny, shall we pay Stan a visit?" Danny nods. He considers trying Lynn's cell phone. But then he dismisses the idea. Chin is right. Network coverage is really bad at Manoa Waterfall. They get in the Silverado and drive back to Rachel's and Stan's house one more time. As they pull up the driveway, two beefy guys are just coming out the front door. I wonder if this is supposed to be Danny's whuppin'. Danny stops the Silverado right in front of the two. Completely unimpressed, the two continue on and pay no attention to them at all. Irritated, Danny looks after them and then enters the house with Chin.

"Stan?" No answer. Chin and Danny draw their guns and check the whole house. In the pool, they find what they are looking for. Stan is lying face down in the water, bleeding. Without thinking twice, Danny jumps into the pool, pulls him ashore and immediately starts life support. Chin calls for an ambulance and the HPD. When Stan is taken away in the ambulance, Chin and Danny first sit in the backyard, confused.

What is the meaning of all this? Why is Stan being attacked when he's trying to get back at Danny?

When Steve comes to his senses again, his head is pounding and everything else hurts, he can hardly move. His legs are jammed under the dashboard and something is stuck in his side. He feels his left side is wet and cold, and when he feels it with his hand it is red with blood afterwards. Steve breathes as shallowly as he can, as soon as he tries to take a deep breath the pain in his side explodes. Without moving much, he looks around. The Camaro is stuck on a ledge, the hood pointed slightly downward. Hopefully it's hanging tight enough; he's unlikely to survive another fall. Where's his damn cell phone, he can't see it anywhere. It probably flew out of the car in the fall. He looks at his watch, he should have been at Lynn's hours ago, maybe she already called Danny, where is he? They must be looking for him by now. He tries to relax, with the weird part in his side he doesn't quite want to succeed.

Briefly they drive by Danny's house so he can put on something dry, then they want to go to Stan's hospital and question him. In the car, Danny tries Steve's cell phone again. He's starting to get worried after all. Steve has been unreachable for hours now. To his knowledge, the hike to the waterfall only takes an hour. Chin is also worried by now. At the risk of being reprimanded, Danny dials Lynn's number.

A moment later, he has her on the line.

"Danny?"

"Lynn, good to reach you, can you give me Steve for a minute please?" He hears her voice change.

"Sorry, but the Lord stood me up this morning. I'm out on my own."

"How he stood you up?"

"The way I say it. I waited for him for over half an hour and then I drove."

Furious, Danny hangs up. This couldn't be true now, so why didn't Lynn call? Something must have happened, because if Steve was anything, he was reliable. Briefly, he informs Chin of what he heard and turns the car around to head to HQ. Stan can wait.

They try to locate the Camaro via the table. However, the Camaro no longer sends a signal. So they try Steve's cell phone, where was it last connected to a cell tower? The computer throws out a relatively large area that includes the coastal road that leads to the neighborhood where Lynn lives. So it appears he was on his way to Lynn's house as planned when he sent the text message, but then what happened?

A bad feeling spreads in Danny's stomach area. What if he wrote because someone was following him. After all, he was driving his car. Chin apparently has a similar thought.

Without many words, they both run to the car and drive down the road that Steve presumably took. They drive the entire distance to Lynn's house. Nothing. Nowhere to be seen is the Camaro. Danny turns around and drives back the way they came.

Suddenly, Chin puts his hand on Danny's arm.

"Pull over. See that up ahead?"

Danny brings the Silverado to a stop. There's broken glass of various colors on the road.

"Chin, over there!"

Danny points to the broken guardrail. In a flash, they both jump out of the car and run to the broken guardrail. Far below they see the Camaro, or rather what is left of it. It's stuck on a ledge. "STEVE!"

Danny already wants to climb down to him, but Chin holds him back.

"Danny, that's not a good idea. You'll kick too much debris loose and it'll all end up down there. The way the Camaro is hanging there, it doesn't take much to make it crash further. We need a recovery team."

"But Chin, Steve may need help, he's been down there for hours."

"I know, Danny, I want to help him too. But we need to keep a cool head and not put him in any additional danger." He pulls his cell phone out of his pocket and makes the emergency call.

"Do you have to do everything yourself?"

He hasn't had such incompetent staff in a long time. First they push the wrong guy off the cliff and then they drown another wrong guy. He draws his gun and pulls the trigger twice. Then he leaves the house, gets into his Mercedes and heads for the detective's house.
