That Odd Classroom 2 - or 'Yes, I am part of this nest of idiots' (Lord El-Melloi II's Classroom, SI)

War. War never changes.

The same goes for fucking stupid feuds born from stupid reasons. I had been aware this could have been the most plausible outcome, and that Waver would have come for my ass through the means of legal rules. And by that, I mean that he gave me a hard time compared to the usual.

A small yawn that I wasn't responsible for? Detention.

I made a few small errors in my homework for his classroom due to me not having the time to study with these detentions? I had to do it again perfectly to get it seen as average.

A theory we haven't even studied but were meant to know? I had to prepare an essay about it the next day and then…

The cycle repeated.

I was caught into it and I was stuck on how to handle it. Reines kept her strolling quite far from where she would usually nag me for, and I wasn't sure if it was because she knew the grief her 'brother' was causing or because she just didn't see a point in approaching me in that miserable state of mind.

What I knew, however, was that Zelretch's hands were tied. I know, the big ass Kaleidoscope powerful bastard couldn't just save my ass this time around, only telling me to endure as Waver had limits.

He sure had those, I didn't deny that, but he was also not the one that was pushing for me to be punished. I doubted Reines got ordered to behave in a certain way, but her family was reasonably punishing me through Waver.

If I ended up escalating this mess, then I would get more heat thrown my way. Others in the classroom could see and the comedic situations had suddenly fallen in frequency.

Could I blame it on Waver? No. But I could still hate the self-loathing bastard for being such a cunt to me.

A few days went by and I was able to go through that form of harassment without much of a worry as I may be in my younger body but my mind was made of tough stuff. Still, after a while, I just felt quite irked by the overall inability I had to study in that classroom and, out of personal grievance for my own education, I decided it was time to actually get something done to hit the core issue at once.

Two days, that's all it took. Well, that is long and asking Zelretch to use the Kaleidoscope to fish out a few things I needed for my 'resolution'. He may not be able to help me in the political and direct ways

I needed to easily end this mess, but he was willing to aid me if the plan was good and my 'prank' was quite the blast.

So, two days went by and it was time for a new lesson. I sit down at my usual seat, the twins having taken cover to other seats ever since I started being targeted by Waver, yet both looking as worried as they could be when I was no longer looking as if on the verge of blowing up.

The classroom filled up fast and many eyes were aimed at me as they expected more shit to hit the fan for yours truly. That expectation was cut short when, for some reason, Waver entered the room, greeted the class before starting his lesson and… ignoring me.

This was the first lesson in ages since I got freed from the harassment I had from day one as Lord El-Melloi II's student and I was happy to see that I got the mess sorted out just right.

More students started to notice the lack of irritated responses beyond what one would expect through Svin and Flat, both being equally shocked that they were once again the focus of some indignation. No one asked the real question, however, and the rest of the class passed really smoothly for me.

The only element that left me slightly nervous was Gray's perplexed look as she looked as if Waver hadn't told her what had gotten him to change attitude around him but… she could tell I was responsible for it.

I was just too happy and not hiding it. The relief was just too good to contain.

The lesson was soon over but before I could leave, Waver decided to stop me.

"Mr. Bukharin, please keep behind me. I have a word to share with you."

I turned and nodded at the teacher as I went to lean by the front desk near his. It took a while for the classroom to empty itself of other unimportant individuals to this talk but… someone else decided to tag along.

Reines looked wonderfully pissed and she looked ready to beat me up. Trimmau was standing beside her and soon the much awaited conversation started with Waver as he asked a very simple question.

"Mr. Bukharin, what have you done to change the opinion of the Archisorte House in your regard?"

"...I don't recall," I replied mirthfully.

Reines growled. "Did you use my signature to trick them into falling for a trap?"

Gray's eyes widened in surprise, while Waver blinked as he was well-aware of what I did.

"I think… yes. I think I did that."

The blonde's eyes narrowed at me. "Why?"

"I thought it was poetic. You put me in a position where I suffered a lot, so I used you to pull myself out of that bad spot," I answered calmly. "Plus, nothing wrong happened."

"You put the elders at gunpoint after using my own signature to have them drop all their defensive mystic codes."

"Yes and no," I corrected calmly, ignoring how pissed the blonde was. "I did trick them in being defenseless around me, but I would have never involved a gun in that trap."

I finished saying that while retrieving the item that was considered a gun. It was shaped like a handgun, yes, but it had a very unusual shape that Lord El-Melloi II instantly recognized and… forced him to facepalm.

Reines seemed confused by this reaction, while Gray merely stated the obvious.

"Is that a… toy gun?"

I pressed the trigger and the gun's cane glowed a bit as a childish noise that was meant to represent the weapon shooting at… nothing.

"Yup. Isn't it fun how senile some old fools can be at times. Thinking they have seen enough things to know how to handle all sorts of situations: they think they are at gunpoint or… that they are dealing with a seemingly easy-to-break kid that the heiress of their family is trying to play with and thus is a threat."

"Do you understand they will not just take this defeat that easily."

I shrugged. "I don't care. They can even come and piss on my grave if I die young, but I know they will not come for my sweet ass anytime soon."

I pulled out a copy of what I had them sign together.

"A Geas," Reines mumbled. "And a very complex one."

"Took me a few hours to get Zelretch to give me a book about those, and I learned it's very simple. So simple that I can make small-sized contract-tier of those that can be quite impossible to read but… I decided to give them an untouched one they can re-read to their hearts' content if they feel they are getting close to getting magically-killed by forced obligations."

"It's quite… a despicable but resourceful method of solving this sort of issue. Full mark."

"Thanks, and I suppose this is all you wished to discuss, sir?" I asked, smiling a bit more as I could now leave without fearing any detention to stop me from enjoying some free time before doing my homework, but first- "Oh, and before I leave."

I turned to look at Reines, she was still annoyed.

"If you think you're angry with me for using your signature, then you should know that I am even more pissed than you could ever hope to be at me, Reines. You literally put me in this bad spot and I had to be a really bad person for a time. You're not my friend," I relayed with a big smile on my face, ignoring the intrigued brow she raised at this comment. "And with that, I bid you all… Addio~!"

I departed out of the classroom, this time facing no worry as I broke from some stupid shackles for good. But while I was on my merry way, a certain someone wasn't outright satisfied with this outcome.

And it wasn't going to be a fun business for me to face in the near future.

"Dear brother, I believe this situation makes it clear that… I either marry him or kill him," Reines chirped, a pleased grin spreading on her face. "Say, would you give me your blessing for both~?"

"...Get out of my classroom, Reines."

A faux pout then a huff, and soon Reines was out of sight, driven by a newfound purpose while poor Waver shook his head at the situation and Gray… was most confused and yet interested on how this situation was going to develop from now on.

It would be sad if John died and… would it be also sad if he married so young?

This sure is a curious and yet complex circumstance to think over for the time being…
