The Moon's Brother and the BS Game 7 - or 'Help, I am supposed to be a background character, but I have to be a MC for my silly sister's sake!' (Sailor Moon Xover, Gamer!SI!Shingo Tsukino)
It was morning and for the very concerned mother of a very missing girl, the day started with relief.
Her baby girl, who had been kidnapped by the very monster she had been looking more into but failed to get authorization to properly hunt down, had been found together with other children that were taken by the 'Rat Demon'.
She was so overjoyed she almost got to the police station still wearing her combat uniform. Very awkward, but she was still able to pull through with her civilian outfit.
"Mama!" Her beloved daughter squealed as she was allowed to check on her after she was done talking with a police officer on the matter.
People that were trained to handle demonic circumstances as they greeted her with a salute and a nod, recognizing who she was by her special documentation.
"Yuki-chan, I was so worried about you," The woman replied happily, holding back a few tears as she finally got hold of her baby girl.
Many had told one Mizuki Shiranui to take a break from her job ever since her husband had passed away in a mission, but the woman was as dedicated to her job as she was to her personal life. It pained her to accept this, but it was her duty to be active and help those in need of assistance against demons.
Still, what mattered now was that her daughter was fine, and that she could get some clues on how the kids got freed as the police wasn't willing to create a report just yet as they were handling damage control with normal families involved in the case.
Once they were back in her car, however, Shiranui hummed calmly and decided to finally nip the bud that was her daughter's awareness of her own kidnapping.
"Yuki-chan, did you tell the nice officers how you got freed and brought to them?"
Lil' Yukikaze beamed and nodded. "Yes, mama. I told them that Knighto-san and Lil-chan helped us out of the nasty place we were."
'Knighto-san' and 'Lil-chan'? Curious names, but rang no bells of recognition in the veteran Taimanin's mind.
"Hmm? Those names are surely odd. Can you describe them to Mama so she can give you some more nicknames?"
The child nodded and gave her best recollection of the event.
So, to begin with, her original assumptions were right. A Rat Demon had taken residence in the local sewers and caused a major hysteria by hunting down human children.
She couldn't tell for sure if this was a planned occasion or if a random portal had allowed a lowly-life demon to pass through and cause chaos, but Shiranui could tell the threat was dealt with by an odd partnership.
Lil-chan was easily remarked as a Succubus, a young one that didn't seem to have any affiliation with the offending demon- which was odd considering this one felt like a stray one too.
Knight-san was an anomaly alright. Part of her wanted to say he was a demon, but when Yukikaze mentioned something about feeling nicer around him compared to Lil-chan, Shiranui could tell this was actually a human.
A young one at that, a small boy roughly close to Yukikaze's own age, just a bit taller than her, that's all. Which was bad considering a young boy was wandering around and fighting scary demons on his own.
Sure, Taimanin were trained at a young age, but training roughly started around twelve and proceeded up to adulthood or even beyond that in some rare cases. To think a child would be involved in this- a young Succubus too… Yes, Shiranui wasn't planning to let this mystery go unresolved just yet.
After all, she may not find these two misfits dangerous, but she had a lot of 'thank you's to profess to them once she found them for saving her baby girl. With that in mind, still, Shiranui decided to let the seemingly-unfazed daughter of hers enjoy some quality playtime with her friends, Tatsu-chan and Rin-chan.
It wasn't going to hurt to let her be a child some more before Taimanin training started.
Lilim was freaking me up.
Part of me was relieved that I just happened to find the 'nicest' Succubus ever, but having to deal with someone as naive and childish as Lilim left me in a very nervous mood.
The girl was still a succubus and one that was handling her hunger because 'her parents were the opposite of the same species so she did not need semen to survive'. The notion was plain bullshit, and yet she was clearly finding strength by eating normal food as the leftovers of the next morning's breakfast proved when I gave those to her.

And yes, I actually took her in. For one night. Only one.
She was a bit sad I wasn't just keeping her around as some sort of pet, but I told her it was either that or being caught and having to handle the notion of being found sleeping in the same room with a young boy.
No amount of magic would have prevented her from being caught, not with Luna around and being an extra pair of magical eyes to keep track of anomalies in the home.
Despite that, I still gave her the chance to sleep in my room. Why? Well, first, she helped save the kids and, second, she gave me the sad story that she is sleeping in cardboards nowadays.

Sad, but not enough to get all the privileges of sleeping in my room as she didn't get to sleep in my bed. I gave her the rolled up futon that I had in my room in case of sleepovers.

The Succubus just took it as some sort of blessing as she was still sleeping when I went out of my room for breakfast, carefully took some slices of the bacon I had for breakfast, and then brought them to Lilim in my room without anyone noticing.
Thankfulness was overused on the occasion, but Lilim didn't try to break from our agreement of this being a 'one-night circumstance'. Opening the window, the reinvigorated Succubus spread her wings and flew away, magic covering for her presence as she went… wherever she was planning to go.
I didn't ask and, frankly speaking, I didn't care. I didn't know her enough to give a crap in that regard, so I just focused on what to do today.
After all, we were still dealing with Sailor Moon crap and since today was the day when Usagi got her bullshit powers introduced to her in a rather unceremonious way, I knew for a thing that we were going to face the first real enemy of this lengthy quest to carry her to a happier future.
And, if I remember correctly, it all starts with her mom's friend having a jewelry store.
Now, I am not sure how much of the first episode would go as intended. Usagi hadn't changed much from her 'starting point', but Luna wasn't that unaware on how to tackle the blonde.
I wanted to believe that was going to draw a less expecting approach from the cat and pressure the girl less than she did in the original circumstances of her first transformation.
Before I handled that sort of thing, however, I decided to focus on other matters. Such as finally tackling Science. And I tackled it very hard.

The goal was getting to the point where I should be able to handle the technological insanities produced by either SEELE and Zanzibar Land's scientists. It was within reach, and I planned to get that done to create things to further aid me.
A Metal Gear REX and RAY to rely on as Megazords? Now, that sounded quite sweet.
Still, it was a pipe dream for the time being. And the obscene amount of resources I would need to create and improve these would be absolutely insane. I thought of using the Sahelanthropus too, but the project sounded like a hot potato at the moment between lost blueprints and its legacy being one of the darkest due to its use and its creators.
But let's not dwell into the ideal and return to the gritty present.
The day went through as usual, but I waited patiently for something in particular to happen as I carefully set myself to stare by the window for any signs that Usagi was ready to go for her first mission and-
I heard it. Maybe Shingo originally was meant to be there because I could perfectly hear Usagi's transformation. Muffled, yes, and maybe I was hearing it because I expected it but… boy, this was going to be fun to turn on her when she learned I was aware of it.
But, for the time being, that was not the case. I half-expected Usagi to 'fly' to where Naru was being attacked, but I was stunned when I heard her bolt from her room to the front door, managing to dodge mom as she was possibly busy with the dish-washing while Luna tagged along the chase.
I moved to the window and I saw Sailor Moon was running really fast away from home, the feline rushing fast right behind her and- I had to fucking move!
I pushed the window open for a moment as I shifted in my Moon Knight form and… hooked my way on the nearest rooftop.
Using the Grappling Hook was one of the funniest experiences possible as the 'Moon Hook' wasn't just Batman's standard grappling hook, it was flexible on how to move from Point A to Point B, could easily handle my weight and it was fast in deploying and returning.
If I had another one of those, I could move just as fast as Spiderman could with his web-shooters, but for now I could move roughly at a slower pace since I had it acting from my right hand.
Chasing Usagi was a challenge in on itself as the girl was zooming fast due to her power-up granting her some insane stats boost from the looks of it and-
How the fuck does someone as curvy and short as she is move so fast?!
Much to my relief, the long run found a closure in the Jewelry Store that I remembered the first episode's clash to happen. There was a small issue however as I stopped by a small section of the rooftops that gave full sight of the large glass showing the interior of the place.

So, in layman's terms as I had seen the Game works like: there is a good chance I don't need to intervene in the fight, but it was not fully confident that Usagi could do it on her own. I remained there as backup much to my chagrin but… one thing stuck to me the most.
I have been keeping track of small details while expanding my stats, and the 'directly' in that parameter gave me an idea when the Youma inside the shop ordered all the 'zombified' women to converge on the shop.
One issue that Usagi faced in her first fight was being besieged by numerous foes at once- it was enough to drive panic attacks to anyone starting this sort of job and… I realized I just had the perfect tools to make sure they didn't present any trouble to Usagi.
One thing that the Game didn't explain in the Moon Knight Skill is that the Moon Cutters came in two variants for me to use: Lethal and Non-Lethal. The Lethal version was the standard cutter as it was meant to tear into a target's flesh.
The Non-Lethal version was made with 'duller' cutters meant to be used as projectiles that hurt but didn't wound or kill. Which was now convenient while handling the rows of dummified women trying to get to Sailor Moon.
While the girl nervously noticed the approaching horde, the group inside the building also took notice of how each member of that approaching brigade was tripping and falling, the darkness of the hour providing me with the proper cover to hide away the projectiles as they hit the back of many heads, inducing concussions by Game's logic alone.
One moment Usagi was worried about this development, the next one she looked relieved as the numerical disadvantage had been hurled out of the window by a mysterious benefactor. I was nicely perched away from anyone trying to spot me, and I did see a certain mask wearing tuxedo dum-dum trying to spot the source of that intervention but…
It's night. No one has night-vision.
I was 'white' with my costume being a sore spot, that much I could tell and was not obnoxious about it, so I still had to hide behind some covers while Usagi took care of the villain.
Without as much pressure as she had in the original circumstances she had in her first fight, Sailor Moon successfully handled her first Youma and claimed a solid victory.

I left shortly after, deciding against tagging along to keep an eye on her as I didn't want to get caught lurking by Luna. I doubted the cat was just going to let this event pass unnoticed, and I preferred for Mamoru to take the responsibility if he was dumb enough to claim dibs. I didn't care as I was more focusing on keeping my sister safe and my job was done for the night.
I turned up back home from the window I kept home, went to give a good night to mom and dad, then waited for Usagi to be back to tell her that too and… finally came back to my bedroom and found a certain futon rolled out with a familiar Succubus sitting on her knees begging for another nice and warm indoor night sleep there.
"...Fine. But I will not provide you with a meal for breakfast."

She showed she had something to cook for later as she 'found a way to make money'. When I asked what it was about, she said something about people wanting to take pictures of her as a 'cosplayer'.
Mostly men from the looks of it and… it was beyond my interest.
Lilim slept quietly, and I slept wonderfully as I knew the first fight was dealt with and… many more waited. It was dreadful to know that this was just the first of hundreds of steps, but I was glad it was a good step and I planned to make the rest even better whenever possible.
