Ryo was in a gloomy mood. It wasn't any one thing, more a combination of a particularly distressing case, the fall weather being wet and miserable instead of crisp and bright, and a mild case of the seasonal sniffles.
Dee hated to see his baby looking so down though, and was determined to cheer him up. If he could just give Ryo something to laugh at… But what?
Then he remembered something he used to do as a kid, inspired by a British Sc-Fi show he'd been a big fan of back then… That had always been good for a laugh.
He shuffled into the lounge, toilet plunger in one hand, Ryo's whisk in the other, and a saucepan on his head, the handle pointing forwards.
"I AM A DALEK! EXTERMINATE!" he intoned, in his best Dalek voice.
Ryo looked up from his book, stared at Dee for a long moment, then burst out laughing.
"You're so weird!" he gasped, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes. "Take that saucepan off your head before it gets stuck!"
"Least I made ya laugh!" Dee replied, returning his Dalek weapons to where they belonged. Then he reached for the saucepan. "Uh, Ryo…"
