If you've read any of my Torchwood drabbles, you'll know I live for variety and anything goes, though my writing is primarily on the fluffy side.

Summary: Drake is in a panic over JJ's imminent birthday.

Drake cornered Dee as soon as he arrived at the precinct.

"Thank God you didn't leave yet! I need your help!"

"Yeah? Well, always happy to help out an old friend if I can. What's the problem?" Shrugging into his coat, Dee leaned casually against the edge of his desk. He had to wait for Ryo anyway; his partner was filling the Chief in on the details of their latest case.

"It's JJ's birthday in just over a week and I have no idea what to get him!"

"Why're ya askin' me? He's your boyfriend; I figure you gotta know him way better than I do."

"Yeah, in a way, but we've only been together a few months, and JJ had a crush on you for years. Didn't he ever tell you about things he likes?"

"Probably, but I never listened. Look, Drake, one thing I know about JJ is he's a sappy romantic. Get him flowers, a stuffed toy animal, and a good bottle of wine, somethin' like that, then spend the day pamperin' him. Go as over the top with the romance as ya can and he'll love it."

"Okay, great! I knew I could count on you!"
