The Phantomhive Girl

Chapter 9: Jack the Ripper Case Part 1

In the Phantomhive Manor...

Celine was with Ciel in his study as Sebastian came forward holding a large wad of letters.

"Young Master, these are the letters we received today."Sebastian declared with a smile.

Sebastian placed the large wad of letters on the desk causing Celine to take a quick glance at the letters before going back to her book.

"It's the social season again, isn't it?"Celine questioned.

"These people really have nothing to do."Ciel grumbled in irritation while untying the string that was binding the bundle of numerous envelopes."They spend the whole day hosting meaningless balls, courting and dancing...London's life is so dull."

Ciel continued to mutter incoherent complaints to himself causing Celine to giggle quietly behind her hand since she was amused at her brother's withdrawing behaviour for gatherings.

"Celine."Ciel spoke up.

"Yes, big brother."Celine answered.

Celine closed her book and faced her older brother from her spot by the window with a smile on her face.

After placing the letters in a neat pile, Ciel took a portion and waved it towards his younger sister.

"Review."Ciel ordered.

Celine stood beside Ciel's chair, placing her book on the desk as she eyed the wax seal on the first envelope.

"The Earl of Warwick."Celine replied.

Ciel glanced down the envelope to confirm if she was correct and tossed it to the side.

"Continue."Ciel insisted.

Sebastian waited for the Phantomhive siblings to continue after writing down the recent name his young mistress said under the rejected list which would might end up to be the list of all the senders of today's letters.

"The Baron of Bath."Celine added. "The Countess of Cardolan..."

The bluenette flawlessly identified all the wax seals from the letter that her older brother continued to toss away to the side, all ending up in the rejected list until they reached the very last letter.

"This is..."Celine started in awe.

Celine and Ciel shared a surprised look before glancing down at the wax seal again.

It was a letter from Queen Victoria.

Afterwards...

The Phantomhive siblings and Sebastian took a horse drawn carriage to journey through the streets of London to head to their Townhouse.

Sebastian was in the driver's seat while Ciel and Celine were tucked inside the compartment opposite to one another.

Celine's eyes widen a bit when she saw the familiar blue ring on her brother's thumb but didn't say anything.

"Sebastian must've fixed it."Celine thought with a hint of relief.

When the carriage came to a complete stop in front of the Townhouse, Sebastian opened the door for Ciel and Celine to come out.

"I hate this."Ciel retorted."There are too many people in London."

"Well, I find them actually intimidating."Celine complained with a sigh.

Sebastian merely smiled as he opened the door for the two siblings.

"There is no helping it, my lord and mistress."Sebastian declared."It's tradition for the nobility to migrate on mass to town from the country every season."

"The season, eh?"Ciel questioned."A waste of time if you ask me."

"Getting away from the manor could prove a nice change of pace."Sebastian complemented."It's a break from those four at least. We can enjoy a little peace and quiet for a time."

"Some peace and quiet does sound nice."Ciel responded.

"That's good."Celine agreed with a hint of joy."The absence of disasters and explosions is just what we need."

Sebastian opened the door to the parlour.

The Phantomhive siblings looked inside the room with their butler, only to find Lau, Madam Red and Grell looting through their home in search of tea.

"Goodness sake!"Madam Red complained."Where do they keep the tea in this house?"

"I can't find it either."Lau added while holding a vase.

"Don't be silly!"Madam Red retorted."Of course, it's not in there!"

"Madam Red? Lau?"Ciel said in shock."Why are you here?"

"Ciel, Celine, you're both early, dears."Madam Red remarked.

Lau looked at Ciel.

"Your sudden appearance here in town, must mean..."Lau started.

"The queen's guard dog has a new scent to follow."Madam Red declared.

When the Phantomhive twins and their companions sat down, Sebastian prepared Jackson's Earl Grey tea with fresh pastries on the table.

Celine slowly munched on her slice of blackberry cornmeal cake as Ciel lowered down his tea cup.

"He struck again."Ciel declared."Another prostitute was found gruesomely murdered in white chapel. These killings are far from normal. The level of violence we're seeing is unprecedented."

"The most recent victim was a woman named, Mary Anne Nickles."Sebastian commented."It appears there was a special type pf blade used on her. She was torn up beyond recognition."

"The murderers distinctive style of killing has earned him a unique nickname from the press."Ciel complemented. "Jack The Ripper."

"A frightening name, eh?"Lau said.

Celine wiped away the crumps in her mouth with a napkin before looking at Ciel.

"Was this the reason why you hurried to London, big brother?"Celine questioned. "So that you would be able to confirm the situation?"

"Exactly, Celine."Ciel answered. "I hurried into town to look into the situation."

Lau placed down his cup of tea and smiled.

"But are you sure you'll be brave enough to stomach the crime scene?"Lau asked.

"What do you mean by that?"Ciel said.

Lau walked up to where Ciel and Celine were.

"The sight of the dismembered body will certainly be horrific."Lau complemented. "And one can only imagine the stench. Blood and gore everywhere. Surly it would be more than enough to drive some men mad. Are you prepared to see such a thing? You're just a young boy after all."

Then Lau looked at Celine.

"And what of you, Lady Phantomhive?"Lau asked."Will you have the courage to see such a disturbing scene?"

"My brother came here to relieve the Queen of her troubles."Celine declared in a sharp tone."I also requested for my involvement of my own accord, in courtesy of her kindness. Don't ask foolish questions."

"You're right."Lau agreed. "So sorry."

Outside...

Whitechapel was bursting with people who wanted to see the murder, but the police inspector known as Fred Abberline stood at the entrance of the alleyway to stop anyone who tried to get in.

Fred had shaggy auburn hair and blue eyes. He wore a dark grey trench coat with a green tie and a bowler hat.

The inspector's eyes moved away from the papers he was checking when he saw the Phantomhive twins and their companions walked forward.

"Sorry children, I'm afraid a crime scene like this is no place for a child."Fred stated. "Now why don't you just run alone home."

"We're here to see the victim's body."Ciel declared.

"The body?!"Fred said in shock. "Surely, you're kidding me."

"Abberline!"Sir Randell said as he walked forward and notice the two siblings."Well if it isn't Lord and Lady Phantomhive. What are you doing here?"

Abberline looked at Sir Randell.

"You know these kids, sir?"Abberline asked.

"We're here to help sir Arthur, it seems your investigation is dragging a bit."Ciel sneered and showed the queen's letter."You know who sent me here of course."

"Ugh!"Sir Randall scowled.

Ciel took the papers that Fred held to look at them with Celine.

"It seems you haven't found any major clues yet."Ciel complemented.

"Hmm...that is most unfortunate."Celine said in disproval.

"We, at Scotland Yard, are more than capable of handling this case I assure you."Sir Randell declared as he took the papers from Ciel."No need for you two to interfere."

"Splendid."Ciel replied and looked at his sister. "Shall we go, Celine?"

"Yes, brother."Celine answered and smirked at the two men."Good luck with your investigation, gentlemen."

The Phantomhive twins joined the others and walked away from the crowd.

"Hmm…now what, dear?"Madam Red asked.

"Now we go see someone, who may prove useful."Ciel admitted.

"My lord, you mean-"Lau started.

"Yes, indeed."Ciel responded.

Celine gulped nervously, knowing who her brother was referring to.

The group arrived in front of an undertaker's parlour, where a large black coffin lay beside the door and a sign topped with a skull on it.

"So, where are we?"Lau asked.

"You don't know, then what was all that about?"Madam Red retorted.

"It's a funeral parlour run by an acquaintance of my lord and lady."Sebastian stated.

"The Undertaker?"Madam Red said.

"If we're looking for answers then this is the place."Ciel responded.

"And surprisingly happens to be a friend of our family name."Celine declared with a nervous smile.

The group then entered the parlour and arrived inside a dark room that had coffins laid shut on the floor and propped up on tables.

A sinister chuckle entered the air as Celine nervously hid behind Ciel and held his shoulders.

"He he he he."the Undertaker's voice cackled."Welcome, I thought I'd be seeing you before long."

Suddenly, a coffin in front of the Phantomhive twins opened, revealing a pair of glowing green orbs belonging to a man with long grey hair wearing black robes and had long black nails.

"My lord, it's so lovely to see you."the Undertaker admitted.

Madam Red, Lau and Grell looked at the Undertaker in shock while Celine remained hidden behind her older brother.

"Do I finally have the pleasure of fitting you and your charming sister in one of me coffins today?"the Undertaker asked with a hint of excitement.

"No, that isn't why I'm here."Ciel replied calmly. "I wanted to-"

The man placed a finger to Ciel's lips.

"No need to say. I'm already aware. Very well aware."the Undertaker sneered."One of my recent customers was a bit unusual shall we say? I helped though. I made her look beautiful again."

Celine stopped hiding from her brother and cleared her throat.

"We would like the details, please."Celine insisted with a firm tone.

"I see now."Lau remarked. "So the funeral parlor is only your cover business. How much is it, for information?"

The Undertaker stared at Lau with his hidden eyes and leant over him, giving everyone a fright except Sebastian.

"I have no need for the queen's coins."the Undertaker admitted. "There's only one thing that I want from you."

The Undertaker gives a flashy grin at the Phantomhive twins and went up to them causing Ciel and Celine to become mildly disturbed.

"Please my lord, give it to me and I'll tell you anything!"the Undertaker insisted hysterically."Give me the extraordinary gift of true laughter! Just one joke and all me information is yours!"

"Lunatic."Ciel muttered.

Celine looked at Ciel.

"It's hard to believe that he is still good at his job."Celine whispered uncomfortably.

"Leave it to me my lord. Here is my joke, it's a classic."Lau responded."On which side does a tiger have the most stripes? On the outside. Get it, ha ha. Ha ha."

The Undertaker didn't laugh causing Madam Red to step out of the shadows.

"My turn. I live for gossip."Madam Red declared."So this story will make you laugh so hard you'll simply curl up and die."

Sebastian covered Celine's ears while the bluenette covered Ciel's to prevent him from hearing their aunt's inappropriate joke.

Mouth masks were placed on Lau and Madam Red's mouths causing the Undertaker to look at Ciel and Celine.

"Now, my lord and lady, it looks like you two are the only ones left."the Undertaker stated. "I gave you a special discount last time but I'm not going to do it again."

Ciel growled in annoyance while Celine sweat dropped before Sebastian sighed as he pulled the edge of one of his black gloves.

"It can't be helped."Sebastian responded and looked at the group."Everyone, please wait outside. No matter what happens, do not attempt to listen to this."

Outside the shop, the Phantomhive twins and their companions waited patiently while sweat dropping at the silence.

Then an eruption of laughter from the inside sent the sign crashing down from its fixture.

Sebastian opened the creaking door and gave them a bright smile.

"Please do come back in now."Sebastian declared."I believe he will tell us everything we want to know."

The group looked round him and saw Undertaker slumped over a table with drool leaking from his mouth.

"Oh my heh."the Undertaker mumbled in glee."I've now seem the face of ultimate bliss."

Celine sweat dropped and looked at Sebastian, who lifted a finger to his lips and winked at her.

"An interesting pattern I've seen these days."the Undertaker complemented."I've often get customers who are incomplete."

Ciel, Celine, Madam Red and Lau were gathered around the Undertaker, clutching beakers of tea with the tea bags still in them.

"Incomplete?"Sebastian asked.

"Yes."the Undertaker answered."The uterus is missing which is quite odd."

Everyone became shocked at this little piece of information as Celine paled and slowly drank her tea.

"The killer makes a big mess of the body, but that particular part is always precisely excised."the Undertaker declared.

"He did it on a road that was public though, not high traffic."Sebastian commented. "Wouldn't an amateur have a difficult time carrying out such a complicated procedure quickly enough?"

"You're a clever one, butler."the Undertaker remarked."This is exactly what I was thinking."

The Undertaker moved over to Celine and placed a hand on her slender throat.

"You see, first he slits her throat with a sharp weapon."Undertaker explained and his hand hovered over Celine's stomach."Then he rips into her right here and takes her precious womanly part."

Celine froze in horror as the Undertaker touched her cheek with one of his fingernails before letting go.

"There will be more slain, I'm certain. Sadistic killers like this one don't stop until someone makes them."the Undertaker exclaimed and looked at Ciel with a grin."Will you stop him? Can You sniff him out, like a good little guard dog?"

"I am bound by the honour of my family."Ciel answered."I eliminate any threat the queen asks me to, by any means I find necessary. This information narrows down our suspects."

Afterwards...

Ciel, Celine, Madam Red, Sebastian and Lau were bundled inside the carriage with Grell at the reins and moving the horses in the busy street.

"His information narrows down our suspects."Ciel commented.

"I think the plausible reason for extracting organs one after the other might be because the murderer is involved with some manner of ritual or even black magic."Celine suggested with an troubled look."Doesn't that seem a bit unrealistic, after all, considering that this is a murder case..."

"I was thinking the exact same thing, my lady."Sebastian commented. "First of all we look at the necessary skill set, crossing out anyone out with an alibi for the nights on which this occurred. We should concentrate our investigation on people involved with secret societies."

"As if that narrows the field? Why even I would have the medical skills necessary for this."Madam Red replied. "Besides which, the season is ending soon. Any doctors who follow the nobles to the city will be returning to the country and then-"

"Then we'll have to conclude the investigation quickly."Sebastian replied with a malicious smile.

"Impossible."Lau said with a frown.

"I should be able to do this much at least, otherwise what kind of butler would I be?"Sebastian asked with a smirk.

Lau and Madam Red looked dumbfounded while Ciel and Celine simply smirked.

Sebastian smiled at Ciel and Celine.

"I'll make up a list of viable suspect and begin questioning then for you immediately my lord and lady."Sebastian stated.

The butler opened the door, catching Grell's attention as he stepped out, hanging by the door's opening and smiled at the group.

"Now if you would excuse me."Sebastian remarked.

Ciel was even waving his hand to shoo Sebastian away while Celine was waving to bid him safe travels with a smile on her face.

With that, Sebastian disappeared behind the closed door.

Madame Red and Lau pressed their faces up against the glass with shocked looks, but Sebastian was no where to be seen.

"He knows that we're moving right?"Madam Red questioned.

"Sebastian will take care of it for now."Ciel responded. "We can head home and have a cup of tea while we wait."

A While Later...

After a number of twists and turns in the streets and extending their patience indefinitely, Ciel and Celine returned to the townhouse with the others, safely but not promptly.

Lau was the first to step down, letting out a relieved sigh.

"We're finally back."Lau said."My back hurts."

"We only arrived so late because Grell went the wrong way!"Madam Red growled in anger.

"I doubt it will be the last time."Celine mumbled in a grim tone.

"I'm sorry!"Grell apologised in shame."I'm terribly sorry!"

"Calm down, Madam Red and Celine."Ciel instructed."Let's first have a cup of afternoon tea and rest, all right?"

Lau opened the door and was about to step in until he noticed someone already inside, ready to welcome them.

"Welcome back."Sebastian greeted with a bow. "I've been waiting for everyone for a while."

Sebastian momentarily paused to take a step back, allowing the Phantomhive twins and their companions to enter.

"This afternoon I've prepared black tea in the drawing room."Sebastian declared as Ciel handed him his hat."Today's dessert is a European Pear and Blackberry Buckle."

"Okay."Ciel said simply.

"Yummy."Celine replied with a hint of excitement.

"Hold on!"Madam Red shrieked."How are you here?"

Sebastian looked at Madam Red while Ciel and Celine continued on to climb the stairs.

"I finished up my little errand so I made my way home to edify you."Sebastian admitted.

This caused Lau, Madam Red and Grell to drop their jaws in shock.

"You made the suspect list already?"Madam Red questioned in disbelief.

"Well, yes."Sebastian said while holding three rolled up papers in his arms. "I made a list of names based on what we discussed, and then I contacted them all and asked them the relevant questions."

"Come now, Sebastian."Madam Red answered with a smirk. "That's impossible even for you."

Then the ribbon of the first bundle slid off as Sebastian flawlessly narrated one suspect after another with a brief background and their alibi.

"Richard Oswald, doctor of the Duke of Bailey was at the White Horse pub with his friends, he has no connection to secret societies."Sebastian stated. "Madam Heavitt, surgeon at the Royal London Central Hospital was at the Stipple inn, she has no connections to secret societies. William Somerset, doctor to Earl Chambers was at a party hosted by Viscount Harwood. From this information, I have narrowed down our list to one possible suspect."

Ciel and Celine had paused just at the middle of the first flight of stairs, impressed at how their butler had baffled their aunt and the two men.

"Are you certain you're just a butler?"Madam Red asked, giving a smug look. "Not a secret military intelligence officer?"

"See, my lady."Sebastian answered with a smile. "I am simply one hell of a butler."

Later that Day...

It was night time and the group were now travelling inside a carriage.

Sebastian pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose while dressed in an elegant tutor's attire.

"The Viscount Druitt. Also known as Aleister Chamber."Sebastian exclaimed. "He graduated from medical school but has never gone into practice. Lately he's thrown several parties at his home. But behind the scenes of these same soirees are secret gatherings that only his intimates may attend."

"I've heard he's into black magic and those occult sorts of things."Madam Red admitted.

"So your suspicion is that he's holding these parties to perform ritualistic sacrifices of local prostitutes."Lau said.

"Tonight is the last party of the season..."Celine started.

The carriage slowed to a halt in front of the manor's entrance and the door was opened by a waiting servant outside, who offered his hand to help Ciel.

Ciel took his hand and was the first to step out of the carriage.

"Which means this is our last chance."Ciel finished.

Inside the Viscount's Manor...

The group first gathered into their own area before fulfilling their main purpose of attending this party last-minute.

Ciel wore a off the shoulders designed soft pink muslin dress with a bustle and several frills, counting the one lining the bottom of the white underskirt, black ribbons trimming down the frills and the center of the dress and a pink and black striped bow ties off just under the a-line. On his head was a matching hat lined with pink roses which positioned over his left eye with long pigtails wig and around his neck was a white frilled pink choker. There were a pair of soft pink low heel pumps on his feet.

Celine wore a sleeveless elegant ball gown with a pastel blue layer over a pastel pink layer and the blue covering was dressed with crystal roses on clear thorn branches patterns. Around her neck was a ornate light blue diamond necklace and a pair of translucent blue gloves on her hands. Her bluish grey hair was braided in a French ponytail that had a little cyan blue ribbon attached on the end. There was a stylish blue hat with a pink feather on her head and on her feet were a pair of purplish blue crystal high heeled shoes with pale pink roses.

Madam Red wore a strapless red dress with black trimming, a beautiful jewel necklace choker around her neck and a black feather boa. There was a feather clad red hat on her head, black lace elbow length gloved hands and a pair of red low heel pumps on her feet.

Celine's eyes widen at the lovely ballroom view in front of her.

"Wow."Celine whispered in gentle excitement."The party looks so grand."

"We're not here to have fun, Celine."Ciel reminded sternly."So don't let your guard down."

Madam Red hugged Ciel over the way he was dressed.

"So cute!"Madam Red gushed and wrapped her arms around Ciel."Really! Super cute!"

"Let go of me!"Ciel snapped as his face turned a bit red in embarrassment."Why do I have to be dressed like this?!"

"Does it not suit your taste, after all?"Madam Red pouted childishly."There were more than enough dresses to choose from Celine's wardrobe. But for some reason, she never wore this one. A lot of cloth was used to make that in France."

"Why would I like it?!"Ciel argued.

"My, oh my."Sebastian said with a smirk. "A lady should not be shouting so loudly."

"She must be calm and always make a good first impression."Celine added in a teasing tone.

Ciel glared at Celine.

"Celine..."Ciel warned in a growling tone.

"Right, you have to obediently follow instructions!"Madam Red sneered mischievously. "Lau's role is my lover."

Madam Red gestured her fan towards Lau, who wore a suit and tie rather than his usual garment.

"Ciel and Celine will be my twin nieces visiting from the country."Madam Red explained."Sebastian will be the girls' tutor and Grell can remain as he is."

"And just why do I have to act like your niece?!"Ciel demanded with a glare."You already have Celine for that role!"

"Because ever since Celine was born, I've always wanted twin daughters who would look lovely in mix matching long flowing dresses!"Madam Red remarked happily. "Both of you look so adorable!"

"For that reason?!"Ciel scowled in annoyance.

Celine chuckled nervously as Madam Red spoke to Ciel.

"You don't want them knowing you're a Phantomhive now, do you?"Madam Red questioned and smiled."Besides, I've heard Lord Druitt has an eye for any pretty little thing in a skirt and we do want to catch his eye right?"

Ciel and Celine became disgusted at their aunt's words.

"By any means necessary. You do remember saying that, do you not sir?"Sebastian asked. "If you fail to get through his defences, the young mistress will have to cover for you."

A cold shiver ran down Celine's spine while Ciel narrowed his eyes at Sebastian upon hearing this, but the tutor simply gave them a smile.

"Well then, shall we go...ladies?"Sebastian questioned.

Sebastian lead Ciel and Celine through the crowd of people to look for the Viscount Druitt.

"This is terrible."Ciel complained."This dress is heavy and my feet are in pain."

"At least your dress is not a little too revealing, big brother."Celine stated with a shy expression.

"You have nothing to worry about, my lady."Sebastian assured with a charming smirk. "You'll look exquisite in any dress you wear."

A small blush crept up on Celine's face at Sebastian's words.

"Not helping, Sebastian."Celine retorted.

"First things first, we need to locate this murderous Viscount."Sebastian declared.

"At least Elizabeth isn't here."Ciel responded."I would never want her seeing me like this."

"Well, 'sister'."Celine snickered lightly."Since we both know Lizzy, she would say..."

"Oh! That dress is so adorable!"

Sebastian, Ciel and Celine snapped their heads towards the direction where they heard the familiar female voice.

Elizabeth was just a few feet behind them!

"I adore all the dresses here!"Elizabeth admitted happily."They're lovely!"

"Crud!"Celine thought in shock."Lizzy's here!"

"Seb-"Ciel stuttered.

"Sir, I uh mean mistress please calm down."Sebastian instructed. "Let's move quickly."

"Oh!"Elizabeth squealed and pointed at the siblings."You two in the pink dresses! Your dresses are just beautiful!"

"Moving this way now."Sebastian stated.

Ciel and Celine panicked as Sebastian quickly led them away before Elizabeth could reach them, delving into the crowd while making sure that none of their faces were recognised.

"Hmm, where are they?"Elizabeth asked.

Elizabeth ran up to where she saw the two 'sisters' last, but they were no where to be seen and decided to search for them in another direction.

As Elizabeth left, at a nearby table, Ciel, Celine and Sebastian's heads peeked from the side.

"This isn't good."Sebastian said."I didn't expect her here."

"I hope Edward is not here."Celine replied with a hint of fear."He would be in for a shock to see me dressed so inappropriately."

"If someone was to see the head of my family dressed this way..."Ciel muttered.

"The Phantomhive name would be ruined for generations."Sebastian concluded.

A big blush crept up on Ciel's face before glancing at his younger sister and butler.

"Let's go join Madam Red."Ciel suggested.

The Phantomhive siblings and their butler went to where Madam Red was, but found their aunt sitting on a chair while surrounded by adoring men while Lau and Grell were fanning her with large leaf shaped fans.

"Oh ha ha!"Madam Red laughed."You are such a dear!"

"Would you look at that."Celine muttered in disbelief.

"Looks she's having a grand old time."Ciel retorted in annoyance.

Ciel and Celine panicked more when Elizabeth spotted them.

"Ahh!"Elizabeth spoke up, making the siblings flinch. "There!"

"Come this way, my young mistresses."Sebastian instructed.

Sebastian lead the two siblings to another direction before he stopped briefly in front of a waiter and pointed Elizabeth out to him.

"You there."Sebastian responded. "That young lady over there requires lemonade."

"Yes, certainly sir."the waiter answered with a nod.

With Elizabeth successfully distracted even for a short while, Sebastian and Ciel were able to lose her and momentarily stepped out to the balcony.

Celine, however, went to stuff her face when she saw a table filled with lovely cakes and pastries to eat.

"Aunt Francis would usually scowl me if I stuff my face with cake during a party."Celine stated with a light laugh."But a slice or two wouldn't hurt."

The Phantomhive girl picked up a slice of strawberry mont blanc cake and started eating it in delight.

"What a beautiful rose like you doing all the way here by herself?"A man's voice asked.

Celine nearly choked and quickly swallowed her cake down before turning around to see the Viscount Druitt behind her.

"Hello there, Lord Druitt. I'm Rosaria."Celine greeted with a fake smile and curtsied."I'm just stopping by here to have some refreshments."

Viscount Druitt picks Celine's hand and kissed it, but the bluenette felt relieved that she had gloves on.

"Pardon me, if I frightened you."Viscount Druitt said with a flirtatious expression."But I couldn't resist seeing the beautiful face of the young lady attending my ball."

"Oh well..."Celine started.

Suddenly, music started playing in the ballroom and couples began to dance the waltz with their partners.

Viscount Druitt offered his hand out to Celine.

"Would you do me the honour in accompanying me in a dance, my lady?"Viscount Druitt asked.

"Yes."Celine answered with a small smile. "Of course, my lord."

Celine took the Viscount's hand and the two of them began to dance together.

The bluenette kept giving a fake smile to the Viscount and became surprised when saw Ciel dancing with Sebastian.

It seemed the dancing skills was really paying off.

Sebastian frowned a little when he saw Celine dancing with the Viscount, but he had to make sure that his master won't get caught and recognised by Elizabeth so that his reputation won't collpase.

"Cut across like sew..."Sebastian started.

When the dance was over, Ciel slumped over after the dance with Sebastian kneeling over him.

"How could you become exhausted so easily, my lady?"Sebastian asked.

Sebastian helped Ciel up as someone lightly clapped and the two of them saw Viscount Druitt with Celine.

"Your dancing is exquisite like a lovely little robin, my sweet lady."Viscount Druitt declared.

"Young mistress, allow me to fetch you something to drink."Sebastian responded.

Celine smiled at Viscount Druitt.

"Thank you for the dance, Lord Druitt."Celine answered with a curtsy. "It was an honour."

"The pleasure was mine, my beautiful rose."Viscount Druitt answered with a nod.

Celine smiled brightly and walked away with Sebastian, leaving her 'sister' with the Viscount.

"Ah, good evening, my Lord Druitt."Ciel greeted with a small curtsy.

"I do hope you're enjoying the party, dear robin."Viscount Druitt said gently.

Viscount Druitt kissed Ciel's hand, much to his displeasure, but the Phantomhive boy continued his innocent act.

"Oh yes, certainly."Ciel answered. "It's a wonderful party but my lord, I've been waiting to speak with you all evening."

Viscount Druitt smirked. "Oh?"

"I'm bored to death of dancing and eating."Ciel admitted unhappily.

"What a spoiled princess you are, little robin."Viscount Druitt replied and wrapped his hand around Ciel's waist. "Looking for something more, entertaining?"

Ciel shivered in disgust at feeling the Viscount's fingertips glide to the rest of his hip.

"Endure it. Ciel, you can do this. You have no choice now."Ciel thought with a calm but irritated tone."After all those horrible horrible lessons. You can handle it. After all, if Celine can survive this torture, I can too!"

Ciel looked at the Viscount with a sweet smile.

"You know of other amusements?"Ciel asked kindly."I'd be most interested."

"Of course."Viscount Druitt flirted and grasped Ciel's chin. "I'd be happy to show them to you robin, my sweet little thing."

"UGH!"Ciel thought in anger."WHEN THIS IS ALL OVER, I SWEAR I'M GOING TO KILL THIS CREEP!"

"Oh really, like what?"Ciel asked in a curious tone.

The Phantomhive boy felt a distant stare as he became lost in his thoughts.

"I have to find out his secret before this dance is over."Ciel thought and notice Elizabeth looking at him not so far from where he was standing. "And if she sees me..."

"You want to know?"Viscount Druitt asked.

"Yes, I'm simply dying to my lord."Ciel answered and thought. "If Elizabeth comes this way, I'm doomed."

"You might be a bit young yet."Viscount Druitt declared.

"Hurry!"

"Now don't tease me, my lord."Ciel responded sweetly. "I'm a lady not a little girl."

"Hurry!"

Suddenly, the music stopped which made everyone stop dancing causing Elizabeth to head over where Ciel was.

"The dance is over."Ciel thought in panic. "She's coming!"

Viscount Druitt lifted up Ciel's chin.

"What has you so distracted, my little butterfly?"Viscount Druitt asked.

"Ah, it's nothing, my lord."Ciel assured and thought."This is it. My life is over."

Just then, a large cabinet was slammed down in between Elizabeth and Ciel.

Sebastian, wearing a white mask decorated with red swirls over his eyes, kneeled before the audience.

"Ladies and gentlemen if everyone would all please gather around, this evenings magic show will now begin."Sebastian announced.

Elizabeth gasped in awe while Celine sighed in relief, knowing her older brother was safe from being discovered by his fiancée.

Sebastian looked at Lau.

"Pardon me sir, would you kindly assist me?"Sebastian asked.

Lau smiled. "Assist you? Certainly."

"I don't recall scheduling any parlor tricks this evening."Viscount Druitt said in confusion.

"Now is my chance."Ciel thought firmly.

Ciel looked at the blonde haired man gives him a cute pouty look that Celine would usually do to get what she wants from boys.

"My lord, I've seen more than enough parlor tricks, can we go please?"Ciel begged with a pretty innocent look and thought."Ugh! This is awful!"

"Yes."Viscount Druitt answered with a smirk. "Anything for you, my sweet."

Ciel glanced away for a moment with a dismayed and disgusted expression on his face.

Celine notice Ciel going away from the ballroom with the Viscount Druitt before looking back at Sebastian, who was instructing Lau on what do for the magic trick.

"A normal cabinet, once I've climbed inside, shut it tightly and bind it with these chains."Sebastian instructed as he held the sword to the cabinet."Then simply run it through with the sword."

Then Sebastian went inside the cabinet as Elizabeth, Celine and the crowd watched him.

"I shall emerge perfectly unharmed."Sebastian declared. "This is no mere trick or illusion. Prepare for a performance of true magic."

Sebastian shut himself inside the cabinet and it surrounded itself in chains

"Well, here goes nothing."Lau replied as he held the sword.

Lau started plunging the sword through the top of the cabinet causing everyone to gasp.

When Lau was finished running out of swords, the chains shattered and Sebastian came out of the cabinet with a smile on his face, but was unharmed from the swords.

Celine and the crowd applauded at Sebastian.

"Amazing!"

"True magic!"

"It was intense, but remarkable!"Celine complemented with a smile.

Madam Red walked up to where Celine stood.

"Sebastian!"Madam Red remarked in amazement. "How incredible!"

"Yes, indeed."Lau agreed. "For a moment there I thought I'd killed you."

"It actually hurt more than expected."Sebastian admitted."I didn't think you would aim straight for my head. Anyone else would have died."

"So what's the trick to it anyway?"Lau asked.

Madam Red glared at Lau.

"You stabbed him that many times without knowing!?"Madam Red snapped.

Celine frowned at her aunt arguing with Lau again as Sebastian glanced at them over his shoulder.

"Like I told you."Sebastian answered simply. "There were no tricks or illusions, just magic."

Viscount Druitt led Ciel to a darkened parlour.

"We're going somewhere I'm sure you'll find very amusing, I know I do."Viscount Druitt exclaimed. "Please."

Ciel went inside the room with the Viscount causing him to smell a strange aroma in the air.

"What is that smell? It's suffocating."Ciel thought and began to feel dizzy. "Damn him."

Ciel slumped against the closed door and slipped unconscious as the Viscount stared at him.

"See, aren't you enjoying yourself?"Viscount Druitt asked sinisterly."Little robin."

Flashback...

Celia winced uncomfortably as Sebastian helped Ciel place on a corset.

"You're doing great, Ciel."Celine assured with an awkward smile. "Relax."

Ciel let out a groan as Sebastian pulled the laces of the corset tighter.

"That's it!"Ciel shouted in agony."You're going to kill me!"

"I doubt any woman has ever been killed by a corset alone."Sebastian responded simply. "Have they, my lady?"

Celine ticked her tongue and smiled nervously as Ciel gagged in pain since Sebastian continued tightening his laces.

Ciel awoken to find himself tied up and blindfolded, when he hears Viscount Druitt's voice.

"And now what you've all been waiting for, tonight's crowned jewel."Viscount Druitt announced.

The curtain lifted up to reveal Ciel tied inside a cage.

Gathered around the disguised boy and his cage were ladies and gentlemen wearing masks while the Viscount stood on the stage with a black see-through band over his eyes.

"I'm sure she'd make a lovely decoration, or sweet little pet."Viscount Druitt admitted. "You can keep her whole and healthy, or sell her for parts if you'd like to. Her eyes are two different colours but for the discerning collector, that will add to her unique attraction."

"Black market auction."Ciel thought.

"The bidding shall begin momentarily."Viscount Druitt declared.

"So that's what he's doing."Ciel thought firmly."He removes the prostitutes organs and sells them at his parties?"

"We'll start at 1,000 ginnies."Viscount Druitt instructed.

Druitt's assistant reached through the bars of the cage and untied Ciel's blindfold.

"2,000."

"3,000."

"3,500."

"5,000."

Ciel opened his eyes to call out to Sebastian.

"Sebastian, come get me now."Ciel ordered.

The candle lights went off causing the whole room to become dark before Sebastian came and takes out the Viscount and the other people.

When the butler was done, the candle lights went back on again.

"Really, sir?"Sebastian asked in disbelief."Are you good for nothing but getting yourself captured? How sad."

"As long at the contract remains in place, you'll follow me everywhere whether I ask you to or not, won't you?"Ciel questioned with a cold gaze.

Sebastian walked up to Ciel and opened his cage.

"This type of contract is sealed by a mark a demon places on his prey."Sebastian admitted."The more noticeably placed the mark is, the tighter the demon and prey are bound to one another. The demon served..."

"And in exchange the prey can never escape."Ciel finished.

"Yes, I will be with you everywhere."Sebastian complemented and untied the ropes that were on Ciel."Until the end. I shall be at your side no matter what. Even should I perish in this world, I'll still be there in the very depths of hell, my lord. This is how I differ from humans: I do not lie."

"Good."Ciel responded."You will never lie to me no matter what. Understood?"

"Yes, my young lord."Sebastian responded with a smile.

Ciel looked at the Viscount Druitt.

"I suppose this solves the Jack the Ripper case."Ciel commented."Well. That was easier than I had expected."

"I imagine Scotland yard will be here before much longer."Sebastian sneered and lifted up Ciel. "We should take our leave. Well miss, are you ready?"

Removing his glasses, Sebastian dashed off and leapt out of the window into the moonlight.

Celine covered her mouth to yawn tiredly as she left the manor with Madam Red, Lau and Grell in tow.

"Ugh! Unbelievable!"Celine retorted with an unhappy look."My brother leaves a party with Sebastian and doesn't tell me. I hate it when he does that."

"Well, Ciel is the Queen's Guard Dog, Celia."Madam Red remarked."But he does still care about you. You are his sister after all."

"You're right, Auntie."Celine agreed with a smile."Thank you."

Celine, Madam Red, Lau and Grell went inside a carriage before it headed off into the road in the middle of the night.

The Next Morning...

The morning newspaper showed that another killing from Jack the Ripper has happened.

This meant Aleister, who was at the party all last night, couldn't be the murderer.

"Jack the Ripper strikes again?"Lau read.

"I could have sworn this was the end of this."Celine admitted sadly."I guess I was wrong."

Madam Red frowned. "So the Viscount wasn't our man after all."

Ciel gritted his teeth in anger since he realised he hasn't solved the case of Jack the Ripper while Sebastian looked at him with a calm look.
