"Here you go, let's get you comfy, if that's even possible." Dee helped Ryo out of the borrowed wheelchair, lowering him carefully onto the sofa, and propping him against the pile of pillows he'd put there earlier. Quickly removing Ryo's shoes, he helped his partner lift his legs onto the cushions before spreading a blanket over him. "Don't want your feet gettin' cold."
"Thanks, Dee." Ryo smiled up at him, dark eyes shadowed with weariness and pain. "You didn't have to do all this though. I can manage."
"I know ya can, but you shouldn't have to, not when I know it'll only make ya hurt more, even doped up on painkillers." Ryo had finally been discharged from the hospital, having spent several days there after being trapped in a collapsing building.
As much as Dee hated seeing his lover injured, because he honestly wouldn't have wished this on his worst enemy, he had to admit he liked feeling useful. Most of the time, Ryo didn't seem to need him at all, perfectly capable of taking care of himself. Now though…
"I do appreciate it."
"Good, 'cause like it or not, I'm gonna fuss over ya until you're fully recovered."
