I woke up beady eye this morning, things been promising in my new life here in the valley; I no longer held the heavy heart of the loss of my father and focused on the new day forward. All of them will know that my family's name will live on forever.

Nudging the door aside, I looked to the mailbox had more mail inside. Opening it and taking the note, I read it:

"You've been going down those mines quite deeply. So, how about a challenge? If you can slay ten slimes then that'd warrant you a member of the Guild. It shouldn't be much of a challenge for the likes of an Initiate like yourself.

Good Luck!

- Marlon."

I actually wonder what rewards, I'd get for helping Marlon so I tucked it to the back of mind, next time I dive down into the Mines.

However, I had more important matters to attend to and made my way to the Blacksmiths to finally get back my new Watering Can. As I walked up to the counter, Clint reached down from below and sets the final result on the wooden surface.

"There ya go, one upgraded Watering Can. Now you won't have to make frequent trips to the lake anymore. Haha!" He chuckled as I gave it a close examination.

I must commend the man; the craftsmanship was expert like and did a fine job giving it a great new look.

"This looks great! Thanks Clint." I said and walked out of the shop with my head held high. Heading back into the farm, I wasted no time watering the crops and it wasn't hard to notice the results. With each swing, the water could reach a little further, making it less tedious to tend to each sprout as it came.

Hopefully, they'll be ready for when the time comes to selling them. However, since I had some spare change… and the fact that I still have those gifts to give to the Juminos, so I promptly popped into Pierre and shopped for more Parsnips, some Green Beans and Cauliflower.

"Nice selection you got there. The Greenbeans need a bit of extra work but they regrow new fruit every few days and the Cauliflower… they take a good while but it'll be worth it. I heard Maru is a keen fan of them… best keep one for her." He winked as I bought the seeds and had them planted on the farm. Green Beans needed something to scale so I stuck a good wooden pole in the ground and kept it watered. Hoping they'd all prosper into wonderous vegetables for Pelican Town. As for the Parsnips, I happened to have learned that if I used some of the Trees' sap, I could use the Fertiliser to nourish the soil and up the chances of getting some better crops. Scattering the enrichment into the dirt, patting it down with my boot. I eagerly watered them and left the fields be as I ventured into Pelican Town to spend the wanning hours of the day.

And that was when I met Harvey, the town doctor. He was a little miffed when he heard about that an actual pilot moved in but he finally finds the courage to sit next to me on the bench by the park.

"So… you're the new farmer huh?" The man said as he twitched his glasses. "That I am… the name's Robbie McSopwith." I introduced myself.

"Well… as I have heard. It's not unusual to have someone move into that old parchment of land not long ago but it's great to see that it's being put to good use.

Though, is it true that you're an actual aviator?" He asked.

"Well, that is true. I've passed my flight course with flying colours." I smiled proudly.

"That… that's a remarkable achievement… heh… unlike myself." The doctor sighed. "I wanted to be one myself but my poor eyesight kept me from achieving it. Not to mention that I am not keen on heights." He spoke.

"Well… I don't know why or where did you get the idea. I'm short sighted too but that didn't keep me from taking it on. Though, having been taught by my Pa did help in some regard but yeah." I answered as I twirled my thumbs.

"If you actually flew… what did it feel like? Up there…" The man said.

"Actually, you feel free, free from everything below. To experience this sense of freedom in the sky was invigorating. I had hoped to carry on the family torch but since my father's passing, I couldn't.

Which is why I want to buy the land over there, by the Museum. I want to clear the forest and build my new farm there and have a runway for which I could fly my plane." I said as I lifted my spirits, something the doctor was in awe.

"You actually own a plane? Well, you happen to be a pilot but that's awesome. I hope you bring it over here soon so I can have a look at one close up. If I couldn't fly one, then I can surely go see one." Harvey chirped gleefully.

"Well, maybe when I do get that farm. I could even get you set up for a ride too." He smirked.

It certainly got the doctor on edge as he gulped.

"Oh… I-I think I'll pass the offer up… t-thanks for asking though. Well, my break is almost up, better head back into the surgery. It's been great meeting you Robbie. Oh, and make sure to turn up for your appointment. I gotta make sure you're in tip top health too. Even if you got a bit of exercise running about your farm.

Bye!" Harvey went and departed to leave me to think on the bench to ponder about my week… everything has happened to me so fast and I've only just managed to move in. I think this is the place to stay after all.

Only then did Lewis sat down next to me.

"Hey Robbie, how was your first week so far?" He asked.

I looked to him and made a smile.

"It's been turbulent for the first few days but, thanks to the townsfolk, they helped me come out of my grieving… I never felt any more positive about my new life here in the Valley. So many things have happened so quick.

I think I'm going to like it here… I wanna stay here forever and make a new farm." I answered with glee.

"Is that so? Well, you sure made my day knowing that we've been a hospitable lot. Everyone helps each other even if they're going through difficult times. You'll make a fine resident here in Pelican Town and your dad would be so proud to hear about it.

So, you're after that land deed, I see? Hmm… Joja wanted to for their 'Forest regeneration project' but so far, they've not answered. If I don't hear from them, and you pay the costs up front, then the land is yours." He answered, which gave me the hope I need if I ever want to secure my future of a McSopwith.

"Well, goodnight Robbie. I hope you have a great night." He said and I parted to head back to my farmhouse to sleep. The next few days would probably be the same boring routine: Water crops, smelt ore, visit town, visit the mine, etc etc. But tomorrow… it would make the important day. The day when the tubers finally mature.
