It's the day of the last harvest. Both for spring and my crops. All of them have sprouted at last. I had a good strawberry produce, a couple days before and the residents say that it made the most fantastic of Jam but, now that all of the crops have been sold off and uprooted, I let Robin move my farmhouse with the aid of her companion so I could get started immediately.

Then… I got a letter…

It was from Ma.

I woke up the morning to see it in the Mailbox, I've opened the letter to read it.

"Hey, Robbie.

I heard you went off to find a new life, I hope the people of Pelican Town have been treating you well. I'm sorry for leaving you at short notice but, when your father died, I didn't know what to do. I've nearly spent almost all of the money, in his will, on booze but then, when I thought of you, I realised just how much of a mother I was to my only son. I'm sorry that you had to grieve about your father in silence, you were his favourite and beloved but at least Grandad made sure that you got a fresh start, Peggy told me about that.

As for me, I am in rehabilitation to hopefully find some redemption in my life but as long as my baby boy is doing well, then that's all that matters. I hope to visit you someday so I could see what you've achieved so far.

Hope this finds you well, my sweetheart.

Love you.

Ma xxxx"

I clenched the letter and gripped it against my chest.

Oh ma…

At least she's coping well and haven't gotten completely consumed by the drink. I could feel a little bit of tears welling in my eyes but I rubbed and sniffed it away. I glanced up to the sky and I took off my hat.

"I'll make you both proud, Ma and Pa."

After a minute's silence, I pulled my hat back on and ventured down to across the Museum where I saw the significant progress, the two were doing. Much of the land in the deed have been peeled away and Robin's friend was just removing the last of the stumps and flattening the land. Robin stood holding a clipboard and noticed my arrival.

"Mornin' Robbie… you look a little rosy red. Did something happen?" She asked me.

"I got a letter from Ma. She wrote to me about her state." I said and she read it herself.

"Huh… at least she's got the strength to come out of becoming an alcoholic. We have one here already who's bad enough, haha." She chuckled but sighs, stroking my cheek. "You've done well so far enough and she'd be so chuffed when she hears that you've moved to a new plot.

Speaking off, weren't you going to Zuzu City to fetch your biplane? I told Lewis that you had her put into storage at the airport, when your family sold the land. Why don't you go and bring her here, you'll see what I got for you when I get back." She said with a smile.

Oh yeah… Blue Betty is in Zuzu City. It's been a while since I've grown used to the country life but I guess I have no choice.

"Ok but, can you let Abigail know? She wants to see as well." I said.

"Oh? Well I'll call Seb and see if she can tell Abigail to come over. You go head into the city, the bus is coming in a couple minutes." Robin laughed and I promptly ran over to the Bus Stop, eagerly waiting to ride it back to the city. As the coach pulled in, I climbed aboard where, quite frankly, it's the same driver.

"Oh hoho, don't like the valley?" He joked.

"Nope, I am fully integrated in the community." I said with a smile and took my seat.

"Haha, not everyone seems keen on going to the Valley but, you seem to have a reason to." The man said and drove me on back to the city. I leaned against the window to see the slow transition from the pristine blue sky to the grey murky smog. I am going to regret choking on them fumes but, I can always visit Aunt Peggy and catch up.

When I finally arrived at the stop closest to her place, I hopped off and entered her apartment, scaling the steps to her number, pressing on the buzzer.

"Oh! Good Heavens! Robbie?! Oh, my Yoba come in!" She spoke in shock as I was led in. "You are a farmer now cos you're wearing them ol' duds. How do they feel?" She asked. "Comfy, good enough for the farmin' life." I said with a smile.

"Good to hear, go and sit down, I'll brew us a cup of tea." She spoke and I headed to the living room where, rather surprisingly, there she was my. My ma.

She blinked in shock, in the same way as I did, and spluttered out a response.

"R…Robbie? Is that you? Holy, c'mere!" She cried and allowed me to dive into her arms.

"You smell like dirt, dear. How's the farm life treating you… Oh, this is such a surprise." She spoke, sobbing slightly and took a flannel to dab down her emotions.

"Never better, I got your letter… I'm glad you're still ok, ma." I commented, also joining in on the emotional outburst.

"Me too honey but you've been doing great, last time I heard." She said with a smile.

"Yeah, everyone in Pelican Town were so friendly. I managed to get Grandad's farm running and made a great profit. They say that the crops were amazing." I answered.

"Well, he'd be darn glad that it's being put to good use." She said.

"There's the other thing… why I'm here… I ain't going to be there for long." I spoke lowly, which made her frown.

"You're not… well… I guess your great-grandad did say you weren't the one for farming…" She sighed, still rubbing the corners of her eye.

"Not that… I'm moving to a new land opposite town. Ma, I'm going to fly Blue Betty back and I'm going to cropdust again."

Joy never sung ever better in her heart and she smiled again.

"You are? Robbie… oh my god Robbie, I could never be so proud of you." She spoke delightfully, embracing me again as Peggy lurched on the doorframe with the tea.

"Your father would be so proud of you, finally you're going to be what a McSopwith will become. I hope she helps you a lot. Some of the relatives have pooled some of grandpa's fortune into keeping her in the airport but, now that you're going to take her home then they can be assured that the family will live on." She said wth a smile and sat me down so we can have tea.

"Well, I am recovering now, the drink did help me forget much of the worst of the griefing but thanks to your aunt, I was able to come to terms with myself. I am going to move in with her and find work. I can't see why we could go back to Hummingbird Plains since Joja has taken over almost much of the land. The important thing is that you're taking on the reins and carrying it on in Stardew Valley.

You can be sure that I'm going to be fine with Peggy. Like I said in the letter, we might go up and visit to see what you've been doing, and see the new farm.

But, I just want to say. Well done Robbie, we are all very proud of you." She said and laid a hand on my lap, I held it with one of my free hands.

"Your gloves are gritty… that's surely a good sign." She commented as I sipped the last of the beverage.

"Well, let's not keep you for long, you got a farm to take care off. We'll see you soon again, dear." Ma said as I got up to leave. "Hey Robbie…"

I looked at her.

"I love you." And I blew a kiss. "I love you too Ma."

With my two relatives in good care, I went down to the airport and talked to the receptionist at the terminal.

"Welcome to Zuzu City International… are you here to book a flight?"

"No, I'm here to pick up my plane." I asked.

"Oh? Ohhh, yeah, her, she's currently in storage in Hangar 02. You can take the airport bus over. There's been no overflight plans for this day. The door's right behind me." She said with a smile and slides out a contract.

"Sign here though, I gotta officiate the withdrawal of your aircraft with the flight folk." She asked and I signed with my signature. "Thanks. You may go in but still, this is a live airport still so please follow what the staff say. I'd hate another accident involving a plane engine."

It seems that she lacks some emotion, maybe the city has been draining much of the cityfolk of personal identity. Even her humour seems dry and officially-registered. Nonetheless, I went through the terminal and out onto the airport's ramps where a Bus was waiting and drove me alongside the huge hangars that lined the opposite side of the area. Planes of all kinds of sizes sit inside the opened buildings; Private Jets, Jumbo Jets, the big commercial ones that the rich folk can use.

Then there was Hangar 02 and the shuttle grinds to a halt.

"Here we are kid, hope you have fun." The driver lowly spoke as I got off. With the key given by the receptionist, I opened the padlock and parted the huge doors aside, revealing my pride and joy sitting in.

An earlier vintage biplane modernised to standard; Including the much needed crop-dusting apparatus. I slowly, and silently strolled around her, feeling her pristine control surfaces and tail. The colours and marking of a blue and white livery. It's been good to be reunited with my old friend.

"Sorry, if I keep you waiting, Betty." I sighed as I sat on one of the wings for a bit and reminisce the great trips, we'd have together.

"Well, we can't idle on borrowed time, let's get you home." I said to her and scaled into her cockpit, a nice soft, comfortable seat to mount myself in and I checked her controls. Making sure her ailerons, elevators, flaps and rudder were all in working order and checked that she was fueled up and ready. Now there was the moment of truth, the engine start. I got out to the front and began to pull on end of the propellor, giving it a good few yanks until she spluttered into life making a great wind to blow in the face. The ignition fumes choked out of her exhaust until it smoothened out into a comforting purr. I pulled aside the chocs and sat them inside a convenient little bay inside her fuselage and got back in.

Now there was the moment of securing myself in and pulled the straps over my shoulders and clipped myself in. Then I grabbed my headset and pulled them over my ears, calling out to the tower to approve my takeoff.

"Zuzu Tower, Blue Zero One requesting taxi to depart to the West."

Then they spoke out through the radio in response.

"Blue Zero One, taxi to Runway One Niner approved, proceed and contact again for takeoff clearence. Zuzu Tower,"

"Taxi to Runway One Niner, Blue Zero One."

After the momentous exchange, I did up my chinstrap and took off my glasses, setting them inside my cockpit, as I pulled down my goggles. They were special as they used the same lenses as my glasses so I could see, as if I had my spectacles on still.

Then, I pulled on the throttle lever, making her bellow louder and felt us pushing forward, rattling against the tarmac as we taxied down onto the start of Runway 09

"Zuzu Tower, Blue Zero One holding short of Runway Zero Runway, requesting take off, depart South."

There was a minute silence until the tower spoke once more.

"Blue Zero One, takeoff clearence approved. Maintain own course, Zuzu Tower. Have a good day."

"Blue Zero One cleared for take off."

Approved for take-off, I pulled her throttle stick all the way back and her engine screamed into a mighty billow and the sheer speed almost took me off balance but thank Yoba I was strapped in. Wind began to billow in my face as we flew down the runway and, when I felt us lifting, I gently pulled back on the stick and I was finally airborne. Me and Betty were finally in the sky once again. Today marking the start of a new Era for the McSopwiths.
