Jack kept a low profile even as the royals began speaking. He didn't go so far as to hide the ring on his finger behind his back, but he did shuffle off to the side as Alear, Diamant, and Alfred stepped forward, their weapons at the ready and pointed at Princess Ivy. The others of Alear's army and Brodia Castle's garrison prepared, with several pointing at the princess, standing alone near the gate as if she had stopped by for evening tea and not to besiege a castle.
"Stolen from your sister?" Alear asked loudly, the hand on his sword tightening so much that Jack wondered if Libération's grip would snap in half. "You do realize that they were stolen from Lythos Castle first? That Elusians tried to murder my mother?"
Ivy didn't seem to make any expressions at that; she barely emoted at all, in fact. Jack couldn't tell what she was thinking at all, though considering what he knew about her, he had an idea.
"I understand that, Divine Dragon," Ivy said, her voice soft for a moment. "I apologize for that, on behalf of Elusia. That attack was not authorized by me, but all the same, I am deeply regretful that it hurt you and your mother. Even so, I require the Emblem Rings, and that is my one demand - give them to me, and I promise you, I will be gone from this place."
"What makes you think we would give them to you? You must know why your country requires them, Princess Ivy," Diamant said.
Finally, a readable expression crossed Ivy's face; for a split second, Jack saw her lips curl back in a sneer.
"All too well, Prince Diamant," Ivy said, her voice deeper. "But even were this not a question of Lord Sombron regaining his power or not, I cannot abide Brodia having these Emblem Rings within its territory. It would be all too easy for you to use them to conquer and ravage Elusia, as you have done in the past."
"So, there's no way we can agree to a truce to stop the world being destroyed? All because of petty grievances?" Alfred asked, wiping his brow.
"Petty grievances?" Ivy repeated, scoffing. "I would have you look at our burned border before you make such awful attacks on my character, Prince Alfred."
"We aren't giving up the Emblem Rings," Alear said, brows furrowed and eyes focused. "Not to you, not to anyone. We will stop Sombron, whatever the cost."
Ivy closed her eyes. "I see. Then, this is how it must be."
Ivy's wyvern roared, and on cue, the gates at the far side of Brodia Castle were sheared open in a terrific, blue blast of magic. Azure flames licked at the doors even as they came crumbling to the ground, twisted and broken. And just like that, Brodia Castle was breached.
Jack quickly lost track of who was where after that. The only person he could center on was Veyle, who had stayed by him all throughout the quick verbal exchange between the royals. He saw her fling a dagger through the air, striking an approaching Corrupted in the throat. It carried forward momentum as it fell to the ground in a heap, and then dissipated into red particles.
"How the hell did they blow the door open like that?" Jack asked, mostly to himself, "That didn't happen when I last saw it!"
"I left the battlements before I saw anything being placed there…" Veyle said, putting her dagger away and taking out a dark tome. "I don't know what could have caused it, either. It wasn't natural. I could swear I have seen that before, somewhere."
"No matter, let's just focus on providing backup for your brother, yeah?" Jack said, holding his spear at the ready.
Veyle nodded, her youthful face the very picture of determination. "Yes!"
There was a certain zen to fighting that Jack had finally found. It may have only been because he was fighting mostly Corrupted - there were Elusian soldiers about, but many of the soldiers were being fought off by the others, leaving the Corrupted that surged down the center from the destroyed gate as his only target.
Jack and Veyle were joined by Lapis, and the three of them together fought off the Corrupted from reaching the ballista. The ballista sent bolt after bolt soaring through the air, catching wyvern, pegasi, and griffin alike and sending them to the ground in bloody heaps.
Even though he fought almost no differently from before, there was something different. The ring on his finger shone brilliantly, and Lucina was by his side, following his attacks with her own.
A Corrupted came up at Jack's side, and he was too slow to try and block the blow. Only, the blow never arrived; Parallel Falchion was there, keeping the axe the Corrupted held from striking him. Jack lunged his spear into the Corrupted's chest, and the undead monster shrieked as it was sent to the ground, only for Jack to send his spear through its red cyclopean eye, ending its struggles.
"Nice to have someone watching my back!" Jack said, wiping his brow as Lucina appeared by his side. "Hope it doesn't make me complacent, though."
"We shall work on that," Lucina said, nodding with a smile.
Jack chuckled before readying himself for another Corrupted that attempted to charge him, only for a blast of purple fell magic from Veyle to send the undead to the ground in bits and pieces. Lapis made short work of another with her swordsmanship, bringing to mind how Goldmary completely trounced him in their fight. The Corrupted was even wielding a spear.
The easy fighting didn't last, however. Someone came at Jack, a veritable blur that he could barely see in time to raise his weapon, let alone try and preemptively strike. Jack was sent back, but he felt a slow trickling sensation down his cheek. He didn't need to press his hand against it to know that he had been cut faster than he could even perceive.
Kagetsu.
"Hmm," Kagetsu hummed, his Wo Dao glinting in the warm light of the sun as he kept it pointed firmly on Jack. "Not bad. Not bad at all. A shame we have to meet under these circumstances."
"Wish I could say the same. Veyle!" Jack shouted.
Kagetsu was nearly blown apart right then and there, courtesy of a blast of fell magic from Veyle. Luckily, the Swordmaster narrowly avoided the blow by rolling across the ground. Getting to his feet, he focused his attention on Veyle, holding his Wo Dao level with her and charging.
Veyle threw her tome to the ground and took out her dagger, leaning to the side as Kagetsu's blade clashed against her own briefly, sending a small rain of sparks to the ground before she jumped back, holding her dagger in a reverse grip.
Not one to let events play out, it seemed, Lapis jumped in at that exact moment, engaging with Kagetsu and matching him blow for blow, though of the two, Kagetsu was probably slightly more skilled - at least, Jack thought so. Every feint, every parry brought another cut or bruise to either Kagetsu or Lapis, and before long, Jack had enough standing around as he charged.
Kagetsu had been so focused on Lapis that he didn't see Jack coming. Careful not to use the blade part of his spear like his instincts told him to, Jack slammed against Kagetsu with the force of a football player, smashing the Swordmaster into the wall. Jack could feel the man's breath leave his body.
Jack didn't stop there; he needed to get Kagetsu out of the fight, but he obviously didn't want to kill the guy. So, instead of going for the killing blow he'd been afforded by Veyle and Lapis, he threw his spear to the ground and punched Kagetsu across the face. The Swordmaster was knocked to the side, just in time for Jack to follow where he was looking to see that a Corrupted was barreling straight toward him. Jack jumped back, picking up his spear before doing so and blocked the blow meant for him, only to have the Corrupted fall to the ground, with one of Veyle's daggers sticking out of its back before it dissipated into red sparks.
When Jack looked back to where Kagetsu was still reeling from his punch, he was gone. The Wo Dao he had wielded, however, remained on the ground, whereupon he saw Lapis pick it up.
"War trophies?" Jack asked.
Lapis shook her head. "I'll be needing a sharp blade like this."
"Is the battle over?" Veyle asked, padding up to them both. "I don't hear as much-!"
Veyle was interrupted by the arrival of a wyvern rider, slamming against the ground with clawed talons, with its rider wielding a giant battleaxe. Jack felt his lips thin seeing that.
"This'll just never end, huh?"
Jack looked down at the hand with the Emblem Ring, and he let out breath.
"Alright, let's go. Emblem," he held his hand up to his chest. "Engage!"
Jack was engulfed in a brief flash of light, his spear disappearing and Lucina's rapier appearing in his hands. His feet left the ground, and the wings of golden accents and blue glowing weapons soon followed. He didn't need to see his own reflection to know that his hair changed color too. Jack smiled. He had to admit, the power that Engaging with an Emblem gave him was addicting; it felt good. He took no satisfaction from the fear he saw in the wyvern rider's eyes, though, even though they wore a helmet.
The wyvern rider slammed his battleaxe down, but Jack easily floated to the side of its position. He turned to the others as the wyvern reared its head back to bite him. "Fight with me! Let's go!"
Jack didn't know how 'Engage skills' worked since he was fighting alongside one in real life rather than in a game, but there was something instinctual about what he was doing - it was a lot like how he knew how to use a sword, a rapier no less, despite having no formal training so long as he was Engaged with Lucina. He noticed Veyle and Lapis' eyes light up, and they did as Jack asked.
Veyle jumped up in the air, throwing a dagger at the wyvern rider twice, one hitting the wyvern in the side of the head, the other hitting the rider in the stomach. Lapis was next, her knew weapon cutting through the air and the wyvern's neck as if it was paper. The wyvern's head slipped from its neck and fell to the ground, the body following soon after.
Jack flew through the air, rapier at the ready. The attacks had come so fast, the rider on top barely had time to react to the dagger planted in his stomach before Jack put an end to his pain. A single, straight stab through the heart, and the rider went limp. The rider and his wyvern fell to the ground in a heap.
Jack slowly felt the power fade after that, and soon enough, his feet were back on the ground, Lucina's rapier having disappeared. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to get his heart under control as he looked around.
The courtyard had become a graveyard; bodies lined the ground in heaps, and Jack saw no sign of Princess Ivy or any other Elusians. He turned to the great gate that had been blown apart by what looked like magic, his heart still beating in his chest as he wondered what in Elyos could produce something like that. There was nothing he remembered that could cause an explosion that looked like it. Jack scratched his scalp and turned to Veyle and Lapis.
"You guys okay?" Jack asked, putting his spear away as he approached them.
Lapis was holding her side, but gave a thumbs up. Besides looking a little dirty, Veyle didn't seem hurt at all. She looked at the bodies with a dull look on her face.
"Sometimes I wonder if this is all really necessary…" Veyle said, her voice small and slight. "These are all people with families back in Elusia, yes? Why must they be here, fighting for something that ultimately does not matter?"
"Because they're Elusians," Lapis said, "And we're Brodians. We've been at each other's throats for hundreds of years. I can't remember a time in our history where we weren't in some kind of conflict or other. Er, not that I know much history in the first place."
Jack shrugged. "I just try not to think about it, Veyle. Maybe you should try that too. I just- I really hope these guys knew what they were getting into. Sometimes I just wanna shake them, tell them what's going to happen if they continue to fight us, and try to convince them, but I know none of them would believe me."
"But what if we…?" Veyle began, before scowling and shaking her head. "No, you are right. It is… obvious that I take no pleasure in any of this. It sickens me."
Jack looked back to the bodies, only to hear Alear shout out an incantation.
"Free us, Emblem of Genealogy!"
Leif appeared after that, and Jack let out a breath.
"I don't feel anything," Jack mumbled, "nothing at all, really. I just… accept it as a reality and move on. It's not gonna get any better for a little while longer, but let's just make sure these sacrifices were not in vain, right?"
Veyle nodded. "Yes, absolutely."
"So, you really have no idea what could cause that explosion?"
Jack held his arms out to his side. "I'm absolutely certain I have no idea, yes, unless you know something about my memories that I don't, Alear."
Before Jack stood Alear, Alfred, Diamant, and Alcryst. Diamant was looking at the gates, his eyes narrowed, while Alcryst looked at Jack with large red eyes. Alear and Alfred were in similar positions, though Alear began pacing once Jack was done.
"I have seen power akin to that before," Diamant said, "there are rare mages in Elusia who can use siege tomes - books of terrifying power that can crack a castle in half like a walnut, or send entire battalions of soldiers into the depths of the afterlife. Somehow, though, that explosion didn't feel the same…"
"Princess Ivy seemed to know about it," Alfred pointed out. "Maybe it's a new device? A machine? Elusia is the Kingdom of Knowledge, after all."
"If such power can be called upon so easily, we should face them directly, away from collateral damage," Alcryst suggested, his expression hardening. "If you and father stay here, Diamant, I would not mind trying to root out whoever blew open our gates."
"Absolutely not. At least, not without me coming with you," Diamant said, before laughing. "It almost sounds like you're trying to get rid of me, always talking about going out on your own. What would Lapis say if she heard you talking like that?"
"W-what does Lapis have to do with this?" Alcryst asked desperately. "Both you and father are far too valuable to Brodia to risk, Diamant! If something happened to either of you, I d-don't think I'll be able to handle it!"
"We do need to figure out what to do next," Alear said, holding up Leif's Emblem Ring, "We've reclaimed another Emblem Ring, which means the enemy should only have a couple. I'm still of a mind that we should travel to Solm next, and recover whatever Emblem Rings they have; I doubt King Hyacinth will simply allow us to have Elusia's Emblem Ring, or any of the others they have stolen."
"There's a bit of a problem with that, Alear," Jack said, frowning. "Right now, probably within the next hour or so, there'll be a messenger from the border who'll say King Hyacinth is coming to challenge King Morion. I have a feeling if only King Morion is left here to defend Brodia, King Hyacinth will just-"
"Just 'what'?" A loud voice asked, coming from the castle. Jack whipped around so fast he felt a muscle pull in his neck and he winced. "Come now, boy. Do you have so little faith in us?"
Jack's lips thinned. "It's not a matter of faith. It's a matter of fate."
"Faith? Fate? All of it hogwash if you ask me," Morion said, standing before the others with his eyes focused on the blown-open gates to the courtyard. "Well, that's new. I take it no one knows what remodeled our gates?"
"Jack doesn't know," Alear said, his hand against his chest. "And we saw nothing and found nothing that would indicate what could have caused it. It's a complete unknown, King Morion, which is why I must stress that we follow the plan."
Morio grunted. "Plan? What plan? I'll tell you what the plan is. I heard enough from the boy over there. King Hyacinth plans to challenge me? And he's willing to invade Brodia to do it? Not a chance. I'll meet him on the battlefield."
Jack felt like tearing his hair out once King Morion said that. "Have you heard a single word I've said!? If you go out there, you'll die! No ifs ands or buts!"
Morion turned to Jack with a small glare. "My hearing's just fine, boy. No need to shout it at me again."
"He speaks true regardless, father!" Diamant said, standing forward. "I refuse to allow you to sacrifice yourself when Brodia still needs you- when we still need you! Don't do this!"
"I am very aware of the stakes, Diamant. Believe me. I am not just doing this to sate my bloodlust. You probably think I am, didn't you? Especially you, boy."
Jack bit his tongue. "The thought crossed my mind."
Morion laughed. "Then you know me quite well! Ordinarily, I wouldn't mind all this; going off to battle to face my old nemesis, not knowing which of us will leave the snowy battlefield alive… if I ever had a dream, that would be it. Unfortunately, it's more than just my honor at stake. I know that. Which is why you should see this as an opportunity."
Alear stepped forward, his face looking gaunt and lined, as if he'd gone through a hundred years of stress within a second. "What do you mean, King Morion?"
Morion held up his fist. "Give me that Emblem Ring, and I'll break the Elusian line. That's how Hyacinth gets me, right? Scrawny puke used an Emblem Ring, am I right? I use my own, and I pound him into the ground 'til he's nothing but dust. Then, you'll have a straight shot through to Elusia, then to Solm. I'll retreat and protect Brodia after that."
"That's… not a terrible plan," Alear admitted, "horrifically unsafe though it may be. Is there… really no way to dissuade you from this, King Morion?"
"I'm afraid not. I spent the last battle shivering in my castle, and I can't stand it," Morion said, before turning to Alcryst and Diamant. "And before either of you say anything, listen to me. Should the worst come to pass, even after everything he's done, know that I trust both of you to keep Brodia safe for me. And Alcryst? Keep Diamant safe, will you?"
If Alcryst's frown had grown any wider, his head would've split in half. Despite that, the younger prince of Brodia nodded his head. "I-I will, father."
"This is madness, father," Diamant said, rubbing his forehead. "Complete and utter insanity. Someone who can tell the future comes and says that you will die on that battlefield, and yet you go to meet it anyway? Where's the sense?"
"Fucking- Diamant's the only one who's making sense here! Which in itself makes sense!" Jack exclaimed. "I… I guess it may not be impossible that using an Emblem Ring will make it so you survive, but it's not safe-"
"Safe? What's that? We don't have that here in Brodia," Morion said. "I heard that you saved Queen Lumera, you know. If her death could be avoided so easily, the same should hold for me. Now! If you'll excuse me, I've got an army to muster."
King Morion walked off, though he placed his hands on his son's shoulders as he walked between them and back to the castle. Jack was caught somewhere between absolute shock and righteous fury.
"I think Jack's about to explode," Alfred commented. "You alright, buddy?"
Jack turned to Alfred, the vertebrae in his neck creaking with the motion. "Not really, no."
Alear began pacing again. "I don't like this much more than you do, Jack, but… his plan could work. And I've got a feeling no matter how much we doomsay, he won't budge on this."
"You're right about that, Divine One," Diamant stated, hand on his hip as he looked down at the ground. "When father sets his mind to something, he rarely lets anything stop him. There was one time where he was injured in battle, and he was ordered to rest for a week. A single day after, I saw him training in the barracks, bandages still covering half his body, swinging his sword as if he hadn't nearly been torn in half."
Alcryst placed a hand against his forehead as he staggered in place. "That was a very bad day…"
"King Morion is… a very enthusiastic man," Alfred said, "And with an Emblem Ring like Leif with him, well, maybe he's right. It would be easier to just go through Elusia rather than take a boat around Lythos. Don't have to deal with pirates, docking tolls…"
"Is the prince of Firene complaining about tolls?" Jack asked, rolling his eyes. "Good Lord."
Alfred laughed. "Yeah, I'm not exactly a miser but those tolls are killer, you know!"
"My point is," Diamant said, gaining everyone's attention again, "father will not pass this chance up. Above all else, I am hoping that a messenger from the border never arrives. At least then I have time to try and convince him not to go."
Jack's eyes narrowed as he saw someone enter the castle from the broken gate, orange hair whipping in the breeze as he charged forward - though, he didn't seem as if he had very good control of his horse. Jack had to keep himself from swinging his spear forward; he knew who it was, after all.
"P-Prince Diamant!" Amber exclaimed, nearly falling off his horse. "Someone from the border just came by- er, wait, that makes it seem like everything's fine. Rest assured, everything is not fine!"
"I see. Good work bringing this to my attention, Amber," Diamant said, and he said it in such a nonchalant way that Jack couldn't tell if he was serious or not. "I can already guess what the message is. There's an Elusian force at the border, they're calling for my father to meet them, and it's King Hyacinth himself, correct?"
"I- wow, you must be psychic or something!" Amber said, wiping his brow. "Or like an-an augur! Yeah, that's a more legendary sounding word. An augur, Prince Diamant!"
"And there we go," Jack said, massaging his temples before turning to Alear. "I'll help prepare for the journey, for as much as that's worth. Before long, it's probably the only thing I'll be good for."
Alear tilted his head in confusion, but before Jack heard him say anything, he left.
"You have an odd sense of self-worth, Jack."
It was Lucina who said that, floating beside Jack as he looked out from the battlements of Brodia Castle and out into the craggy peaks of Brodia itself. The sun had long set over the horizon, but there was still the remnants of an orange haze about the mountains. Despite that, the stars looked bright and numerous, like an ocean of gemstones.
Jack snorted, leaning his weight against the battlements. "It's not about self-worth. Not this time. King Morion living up to his namesake."
Lucina's brows furrowed before they widened in realization. "Insulting a monarch now, hm? I suppose he's not unworthy of it. Still, this all reminds me of Basilio."
"Oh, yeah, him," Jack said, nodding. "Basilio and Robin had a plan, though, didn't they? An absolutely insane plan that I'm genuinely surprised worked, but a plan nonetheless. King Morion just wants to run out there and fight despite knowing he could die, leaving his sons fatherless and his nation without a king. Regna Ferox at least had Flavia."
Lucina's lips thinned. "Yes, the situation is not entirely the same. Still, the similarities are there. Do you blame yourself for being unable to stop him?"
"Not really," Jack said, shrugging. "If his own children couldn't, then what hope did I have? I'm just… frustrated, I guess. I thought this'd be it, you know. This'd be the place where things change completely. Sure, the context is different, but it's almost like the world wants to keep going this direction."
Lucina stopped floating and sat upon the battlement closest to Jack, her hands around one of her knees.
"I thought the same as well when my aunt died, despite everything I had done to try and prevent it. I thought I had saved the world, if only in passing. I did not account for one thing."
Jack looked up. "And what's that?"
Lucina's eyes softened. "That people have wills and wants of their own, and sometimes, no matter what, they will do what they want instead of what is good for others. King Morion was never going to stop himself from fighting King Hyacinth. King Gangrel was never going to stop trying to kill Emmeryn. I think what you do beyond this point will have a greater effect on how this will all end. You have saved lives, yes, and that is to be commended. But is it enough?"
Jack stared at Lucina for a few seconds before looking down and nodding his head.
"That makes sense, I guess," Jack said, rubbing his neck. "With Veyle firmly on our side, the battle at Destinea Cathedral will not happen the same as it did in the game. And if King Morion's gambit pays off, then it won't happen at all. You're right about that first part, too. We still haven't seen hide nor hair of the Four Hounds."
"The months, perhaps years ahead will be arduous for you, Jack," Lucina said, "but I believe you have what it takes to get through it. And I'll be by your side until the end, should you wish."
Jack smiled. "Yeah, I do wish for that. Thank you. Being able to talk with you of all people has been… well, it's been nice."
"I feel the same," Lucina said, placing a hand against her chest. "It has been too long since I've spoken to someone who shares a similar burden to my own. I'm glad I can help you through it."
Jack nodded, pushing himself away from the battlements and looking down at Brodia Castle, where several members of Alear's army were preparing to move come the morning. He saw Chloé and Céline, Alfred and Boucheron, and many others. Jack wiped his brow.
"I think I could use a drink," Jack said.
"Hey, Prince Alcryst-"
"Bwuhh!?"
Jack realized his mistake almost as soon as he spoke. Alcryst nearly threw the crate he was carrying over his head and onto the floor. In a massive display of dexterity and speed, however, he recaught the crate and placed it on the ground gently, nearly hyperventilating as he leaned over, completely still.
The small wagon Alcryst was right next to, just outside of Brodia Castle, hovered over him almost like a tombstone. Jack winced as he thought that, looking up at the alien moon before looking back down.
"Shit, dude, sorry," Jack apologized. "Didn't mean to scare you."
Alcryst stood up completely and waved a hand as he turned around. "There's no reason to apologize. If anyone should, it's me. I shouldn't be scared so easily…"
Jack snorted. "I don't know, chief. I'd get pretty scared if someone called my name from behind with absolutely no context."
Alcryst looked like he was about to say something disparaging about himself, but he noticed what Jack was holding and raised a brow.
"What's in that bottle? And why are you holding two cups?" he asked.
Jack shook the bottle in his right hand. "This is apparently Firenese Brandy. Céline said I could have some, which is pretty cool of her, honestly. I was hoping I could find someone to enjoy it with."
Alcryst looked down. "I doubt I was your first choice."
"You were my third, but third's still in the top ten," Jack replied, "besides, what could go wrong? I need something to calm my nerves, and I don't wanna do it alone. Besides, you could use something to relax yourself, right? Maybe smooth over those self-deprecating comments of yours."
Alcryst's eyes narrowed. "It's not self-deprecating if it's true-"
"I'll stop you right there, Prince Alcryst," Jack said, leaning his head forward. "When it comes to self-deprecation and self-hate, I'm a goddamn expert. I know it when I see it. You're stronger than you know, but it's not up to me to get you out of that funk. You'll see it, one day. Now, am I gonna have to drink this brandy by myself, or am I gonna have a drinking buddy?"
"Why me?" Alcryst asked, lips curved into a small frown. "You and I barely know each other. It doesn't make sense."
"Let this be the start of our friendship, then," Jack said, holding out a cup. "What do you say?"
Alcryst looked at Jack, then looked at his outstretched hand, then back up at him again. He sighed, before finally taking the cup.
"Maybe you're right. Maybe it'll help," Alcryst said, falling to the ground with his back against the wagon. Jack joined him, sitting beside him with the bottle between them both. "I can't stop thinking about them. About father and Diamant. I-if anything like what you said happens in the future, I don't- I must do something. If for nothing else than for both of their sakes."
"And you call yourself a coward," Jack mumbled, unplugging the bottle and pouring brandy into his cup. "Cowards only think about themselves. You're sitting here worrying about everyone other than yourself. You're a good person, Alcryst."
Alcryst said nothing, merely holding out his cup as Jack poured the brandy into it. He took a sip.
"That… burns," he said.
"Brandy's like wine times ten or something," Jack said, "anyway, wanna toast? To the prosperity of Brodia or whatever?"
Alcryst looked at Jack's outstretched hand again, before letting out a small, near-imperceptible chuckle.
"To the prosperity of Brodia," Alcryst said quietly, knocking his cup against Jack's.
I'm really looking forward to Engage's DLC. Even more so, I'm looking forward to my plans on how to incorporate it lol. If the frequency of my uploads is any indication, then I am loving writing this fic.
Anyway, Ivy's appearance here was brief but don't worry, she'll be back. As for that explosion that blew open the gates to Brodia Castle so quickly... well, we'll see that soon, too.
