A/N - Okay now really guys please read this AN. I CANNOT upload the whole story. I cross post the story on Ao3 and Wattpad which have serious and strict copyright policies. I would not like my story to get deleted again so I am not going to post the whole chapters. If you find it uncomfortable then you can search for the pdfs online and it gets easier that way. I'm sorry about this but I really can't upload the whole thing.
THE THING ABOUT PLUMMETING DOWNHILL…when you're halfway down, it's too late.
"Only you would realize it was a bad idea when it was too late. The rest of us would have probably freaked out at the start or taken our chances with the fighting." Thalia said, shaking her head
"Honestly, it was a pain to keep fighting them again and again and again and again." Percy said with raised eyebrows.
"Can we please just read? I just want to get to the part where he lands." Triton requested.
Percy narrowly missed a tree…as he shot toward the highway.
The sea gang kept grimacing and wincing.
"Wow. The 360 sounded kind of cool, not gonna lie." Travis said sheepishly.
"Hmm. Not too fun when its not supposed to be happening." Percy snorted
The stupid snack tray did not have power steering
"Isn't that a surprise?" Thalia raised her eyebrow
"Never would have guessed." Nico shook his head
"It should have power steering." Percy huffed. Thalia and Nico chuckled.
He heard the gorgon sisters screaming…push him off with the wipers.
Everybody flinched at the mental image.
"Percy, please just don't think about that mental image." Amphitrite shook her head
Miraculously, a gust of wind blew…but it was better than asphalt.
Everybody looked surprised.
"Wait what?" Hazel asked
"How did that happen? Like, in our lives, no situation like this occurs as a coincidence." Katie asked in confusion.
"Maybe dad finally came to his right mind?" Apollo suggested though even he looked confused.
"It could also be Aeolus." Hermes pointed out
"I doubt it would be him because he doesn't know Percy and nor did he seem to be on their side," Ares shook his head.
"So that leaves dad." Hermes said with a raised eyebrow
"Probably because he doesn't want to risk Percy dying and then Uncle P going crazy." Apollo shrugged. The demi youngers kept quiet during all of this. Percy gave a nod of thanks to Zeus who nodded back but the demi youngers saw just how much of sorting things out was still left.
Poseidon looked a little surprised but gave a nod to Zeus as well. Seriously, the people who saw bother Percy and Poseidon's nods couldn't get over how much the two were alike.
Percy groaned…no bones seemed to be broken.
Poseidon winced in pain as his hands started bleeding.
"Ouch." Will grimaced
He still had his backpack…five minutes before they reached him.
"Ugh." Pollux groaned
Next to him, a tall chain-link fence…they never seemed to last very long.
"I bow to your thievery skills." Connor said dramatically. There were a few laughs because of the nervousness.
The ones who knew the route to Camp Jupiter for a long time frowned at each other. Even Chiron was looking deep in thought.
"What's wrong?" Poseidon asked
"Well um… it's not supposed to take that long to reach camp…at least not if he's using cars. By foot, it shouldn't take that long either." Frank said tentatively. Poseidon nodded to him and then turned to Hera with his anger reaching a boiling point.
"Tell me that you did not distract him intentionally." He said in a voice which was the verbal definition of calm before a storm. A few people shuddered. Hera didn't say anything which clearly said 'guilty'.
"So she did." Thalia gritted her teeth. She exchanged a look with Percy and even he was looking a little annoyed and troubled. She knew he was trying not to let himself be mad and then he exhaled.
"Yeah." He shrugged. Poseidon clenched his fists and gritted his teeth and shot a glare to Hera which made her freeze. Zeus just took a deep breath, not choosing any side in this whole situation though if it escalated he'd probably have to stop it.
"Should I read?" Clarisse asked. The demi youngers were calm enough because they all got along fairly well and a little casually with Percy's dad especially the big three kids. Poseidon nodded.
He glanced east…Percy knew the door was more than that.
"You bet it is." Dakota grinned
"I'm relieved really." Percy chuckled.
Two kids in armor flanked the…iron spear tips, like old-fashioned harpoons.
"That's us." Hazel smiled at Frank who nodded with a smile as well.
"It was a good time to end up there as I didn't have to fight them alone again." Percy smiled "Thanks guys." He said gratefully
"Any day." Frank and Hazel grinned.
Percy's internal radar was pinging…This is dangerous.
"Technically because you're not supposed to be there." Reyna sighed
"That's true. The same thing happened to me as well, like you all read." Jason nodded in agreement.
"I'm just glad that that problem was sorted out." Percy stated
"Yeah. It would've been terrible if not." Dakota agreed
"By the way, who did you guys decide for Praetor?" Reyna asked Frank and Hazel
"Well, Gwen would be turning immortal as well so we decided on Lavinia and Remus." Frank announced. Hazel nodded with a smile.
"Lavinia might be hyperactive but we believe that she can do well as Praetor and maybe even introduce something new. As for Alexander, he's casual but can be serious when needed to be. We've known him for quite some time and he's definitely trustworthy." Hazel informed
"That's good. I think they'd be good praetors." Dakota nodded
"You two chose well." Reyna smiled.
"Honestly, I'm going to have fun seeing Lavinia as praetor." Apollo chuckled
"You're right, of course…she showed exactly three teeth.
Everybody wrinkled and scrunched their noses. Aphrodite and Silena gagged and turned green.
"That is absolutely disgusting." Aphrodite shuddered. Hera looked offended.
It isn't a maintenance tunnel,"…she'd made an excellent joke.
"Hera." Poseidon growled warningly. Hera recoiled as she saw the dark look in her brother's sea green eyes.
"Leave him alone." Triton growled at Hera.
"Well, now at least, hippie Hera goes with the Hippie Zeus." Hermes snickered
"Why are you dragging me into this?" Zeus said with raised eyebrows. "I haven't said anything." He said
"Just a matter of the design tastes." Hermes shrugged with a grin. Zeus sighed and shook his head.
"Percy." Thalia sighed, reminding him of the conversation.
"This is just in the book and all?" Percy said
"So even all that already happened!" Thalia shouted
"I don't know okay? I don't know what to do. Think. Lets just try to figure it out peacefully and thoughtfully. Just not in the middle of the reading." Percy said, throwing his hands up. Everybody looked at them in confusion. Only the ones who had had the conversation on the rooftop knew what they were talking about. Thalia sighed and then so did Percy.
"I'm sorry." She said
"I'm sorry too." Percy said with a small smile
"I'm just worried about you." Thalia said "Well, in the book." She added. Percy chuckled.
"I know you are but I'm going to be fine." He said. Thalia nodded.
"Yeah, we're not getting rid of him." Nico grinned. Percy and Thalia laughed and nodded. The gods had to smile at this. No matter how much these three bantered and sometimes fought, they always had a special place in eachothers hearts. And dare the big three gods and Demeter say, it was the same for them. The four of them looked at each other, each one reminisce seen in their eyes and they sighed.
"It is June, isn't it? They named the month after me!"
"Wait. Its June?" Reyna frowned
"What do you mean?" Ares asked
"I mean that Percy ended up at the wolf house two months ago but he was definitely missing for more than two months. What happened to the other months that he was missing?" Reyna explained. Everybody's gazes snapped to Hera after they understood what Reyna meant.
"You-" Poseidon started "How could you-" He growled. He almost snapped his fingers to drench Hera but she was already gasping as she was dripping from head to toe in water. Everybody turned to look at how did that. Amphitrite sat there with a glare at Hera. Poseidon gave her a proud look and turned his gaze back to Hera. Triton and Percy smiled at Amphitrite.
"Even I wasn't that fond of Percy then and even I would never do anything like that to him." Hades shook his head at his sister. He knew that he wasn't on the best of terms with Percy in the book but now the son of Poseidon was honestly like family to him. He and all the younger gods were now. They all had absolutely no hesitation against him when they came and they had never showed any and had accepted him as their family as well.
Even Zeus wasn't looking too fond of what Hera was doing. He knew that before he actually talked to Percy, he would have done the exact same thing to him but now that the young god was actually making an effort to talk to him, he wouldn't do what Hera was doing to him.
"You left him somewhere when he could have been safe somewhere. He's my son and I'm your brother. How could you do that to him…to me? Did you even think of that? Do you ever think of anybody except yourself and your grudges?" Poseidon said quietly, shaking with rage and if he looked deeper, some hurt as well and the sea gang and the ones who knew him could hear it as he spoke.
"He's a kid. He was a kid when this started and yet none of us made things easier for any of them and you're just making it a lot more difficult. And not just making their lives difficult. You're making it really difficult for me to not take some part of what I feel on you. And none of the young gods can do anything either because you're a goddess too and the queen." He continued, glaring at his sister. Hera recoiled every single time Poseidon said something.
Hestia looked upset at what her sister did as well. She could have easily given Percy and Jason some more time at Camp Half Blood and Jupiter but she didn't do that. Jason got friends and a protector but she left Percy for four months to fates know where. She wanted her old younger sister back and maybe she did see the change now but it did not stop her from being disappointed. Hera winced as she saw Hestia upset because nobody liked to see her like that.
The demi younger gods and the younger gods were looking either angry, disappointed or disgusted. Hephaestus and Ares looked at each other and shook their heads at their mother. They were both her sons and yet they had never gotten even some love from her. Ares remembered when he was in the jar and that his own mother had never looked for him. Hephaestus remembered that even though he was ugly, he was never given a proper chance and was thrown off a mountain. Honestly, he talked to Ares and Ares talked to Hephaestus more than they did to Hera. It wasn't too surprising to them when they heard about the conditions Percy was in.
The demi youngers were glaring at Hera with fires burning in their eyes. Percy had already know the situations that he was in but that didn't stop him for feeling annoyed as well. He had to do things the Roman way as Hera put it and even the Roman demigods were admitting that they didn't end up in circumstances as bad as he was in.
"Maybe we should continue." Chris said through clenched teeth from his anger at Hera. Everybody turned look at him and nodded. Clarisse shot Hera a glare and continued while the goddess just sat there without saying or doing anything.
"Okay…Look, I should go…as if she were in no hurry
"Stop wasting his time." Artemis snapped at Hera.
"You could leave me here at the mercy of the gorgons and go to the ocean."
"Leave you at the mercy? They would not even attack you. They would not be able to." Amphitrite spat.
You'd make it there safely…through the tunnel, across the river."
"And of course, you would make things harder for him." Annabeth gritted her teeth.
"You didn't have to dress up that way and look that way just to seem like an old lady. You could just age up and it'd be okay." Piper shook her head in disgust at Hera.
Percy didn't know what river…June looked pretty heavy.
Everybody except Hera and Zeus snorted in amusement. Some people snickered. Aphrodite still looked green at the attire that Hera had picked out.
Zeus had just kept quiet during the whole argument, not wanting to choose sides. For the first time in millennia, he was talking to his brothers like a brother and not a king and their fights were turning into sibling banter rather than fights which would involve declaring war. He had to admit that he liked it and it reminded him of the time when they had just started to rule after defeating the titans for the first time.
One the other hand, he didn't want to go against his wife. And he had known her from the beginning as well. Even when he would get all egoistical, she would still talk to him. He just found it better to stay quiet and not choose one or the other because this time…this time it was different and there were relations at stake…none of them he would like to let go of.
The gorgons were only fifty yards…"Because it's a kindness!" she said
"You don't seem to know the definition of that word too well." Nico said to Hera with a raised eyebrow. Despite, all the conversations that he and his friends had had about Hera and the fact that there might be some change in her (which they couldn't be sure of because she wasn't acting what they call apologetic), he couldn't help but say it. Nobody messed with his brother.
"Sassico in the house." Travis said with a quiet chuckle. Nico snorted.
"He learnt from the best." Percy said with a grin.
"You wish." Nico chuckled. Percy pouted at him but then even he started laughing. Everybody managed a chuckle at that.
"And if you don't, the gods will die…old life will be destroyed.
"That's a lot." Clarisse agreed "But you could have easily helped him get to camp another way. Not that you're doing much of help right now as it looks like Prissy is about to be gnawed to death in some time but you could've easily just taken another form and walked with him to camp if you wanted to go so desperately." She said, with a glower towards Hera.
Percy gave a small smile to Clarisse to which she nodded to. She and Percy honestly had a unique relationship. They went from enemies to friends who didn't get along to well to good friends who acted like enemies for the drama and now they were at the really good friends like the kind of friends who would always watch each others' backs but still acted like enemies for the drama and fun of it but everybody knew that they were good friends.
Of course, you wouldn't remember them…You'd be safe at the bottom of the sea
"What do you mean that it won't matter? That's literally the only thing that would matter to me. I'm not going to let anything happen to them if its up to me. And as for living under the sea…as much as I would love it, I would never love it if my family under the sea was dead." Percy asked dangerously with a glare in his eyes. Hera winced. The others sighed and gave small smiles to Percy. They knew for certainty that they would do all that for Percy because he meant a lot to them as well. He meant just as much as they meant to him.
Percy swallowed…Will you help a defenseless old woman?"
"Defenseless." Poseidon snorted
Percy doubted June was…Percy hated tests
"Don't we all." Connor agreed
"Tests are so annoying." Travis agreed
Since he'd lost his memory…he'd be _.
Poseidon glared at Hera as he felt Percy's anguish and frustration buzz through him.
"Hmm. Lets see." Nico said with a grin.
"You're Percy Jackson." Thalia said
"You probably feel frustrated and annoyed." Jason supplied
"And if the monsters caught you then they'd be dead." Nico grinned "And if you didn't kill them then you'd be spending a very good vacation in Elysium. Though now you're immortal." He said. Percy laughed. Everybody else chuckled.
"Thank you all for that information." Percy grinned.
"You're welcome." His cousins said simply with matching grins.
Then he thought about Annabeth…He had to find her.
Percy and Annabeth smiled at each other.
"I don't like that you have to carry Hera to camp for that." Annabeth sighed. Percy shrugged then grinned.
"I'd carry you to camp too." He said. Annabeth chuckled and turned a little red.
"Dude, she'd be the one carrying you." Nico snorted.
"It can happen both ways." Annabeth grinned. Percy and Annabeth chuckled and laughed then. Everybody else smiled and shook their heads fondly. Athena simply sighed.
"I'll carry you." He scooped…calloused hands clinging to his neck.
Aphrodite gagged. Hera shook her head which got her a few glares. Poseidon turned a little pale as he felt Percy's hidden disgust through him.
He made it across the first lane…across the freeway here in Berkeley.
There were a few snickers.
A shadow fell over him…"Whoops!" as a car almost killed them.
"What-?" Katie muttered
"You're crazy." Castor shook his head at Hera with wide eyes
Somewhere off to his left…Two prizes are better than one!"
"Is she really dumb enough to believe that she could kill a goddess?" Leo asked with raised eyebrows
"They do seem dumb but I think that they mean that she'd take Hera to Gaia or to the giants again." Pollux said.
Percy bolted across the remaining…just about anything—except the truth.
"Exactly! Its quite interesting and amusing." Hermes said "No offense." He added quickly to Rachel.
"None taken. And technically, I'm not a mortal anymore." She said with a small smile. Hermes returned it.
"That's there." He nodded
Percy ran for the door in the…His ribs ached.
Poseidon winced in pain and rubbed his ribs.
"And you just have so much fun in making things more difficult when its not needed. Try being in any of the demigods' situation yourself once." Poseidon glared at Hera "I know it probably sounds hypocritical but honestly, I understand what we all did." He added to the demi youngers who smiled at him.
"You changed. You weren't as bad as a few before either way." Thalia said. Zeus sighed. He didn't even look offended, knowing that it technically was the truth.
One of the guards yelled…gesturing frantically at Percy to hurry.
"We tend to kill the monsters first." Hazel said with a chuckle.
"You knocked an arrow. I thought you were pointing at me seeing as any demigod would if they saw a person just running towards them while carrying an old old lady." Percy shrugged.
"That makes sense. But the monsters were probably the bigger danger just then." Frank grinned
Fifty feet from the door…carried her backward a hundred yards
Everybody snickered and cheered.
But she just climbed over the cab…launched back into the air.
Now they groaned.
"Oh come on!" Clarisse said throwing her hands in the air as she paused.
Percy reached the door…"Welcome to my world," Percy muttered.
Frank snorted.
"Frank," the girl said…sounded like she was the one in charge.
"Yeah, she is." Frank chuckled. Hazel grinned.
"No doubt." Nico agreed. Hazel laughed now. Hades chuckled but anybody could see that he, Ares and Poseidon were just waiting for them to get to safety.
"Okay, you're obviously a demigod…Go!" she demanded.
"Hazel-" Hades started in worry.
"They had to get in dad. That was the only way." Hazel sighed.
Frank cursed in another language…who was definitely getting heavier.
Poseidon grimaced in pain but ignored it and turned to Hera.
"Hera, I swear-" He started
"Brother." Hestia's voice stopped him. Poseidon sighed and gestured for Clarisse to read.
"Very mean lady." Tyson said, glaring at Hera.
He didn't know how that girl Hazel…Percy's arms shook from the strain
Poseidon's hands shook and he glared at Hera. He tried to get up but a look from Hestia stopped him.
June mumbled a song in Latin…which didn't help Percy concentrate.
By now, some of the gods had to hold down their kids from going and hurting Hera while the sea gang was trying make sure that Poseidon wouldn't get up and end up hurting her either.
"Okay, this is escalating fast. You should continue." Apollo said to Clarisse who hesitated but nodded and continued.
Behind them, the gorgons' voices…"Detention?" Percy asked.
Everybody burst out laughing at that. Hera shook her head. The demi youngers and gods especially the Stolls, Apollo and Hermes were rolling on the floor in laughter.
"Percy is Percy with or without his memories." Beckendorf chuckled. Percy grinned sheepishly.
"How many times have you got detention?" Rachel asked amusedly
"You don't want to know." Percy laughed and shook his head
It took some time for everybody to calm down and once they did, Clarisse continued reading.
"Rome, child," the old woman said…right where it should be.
"Oh we went there." Leo sighed
"The camp was much closer than we thought at that point of time. No wonder that Jason was feeling such a strong pull. It wasn't about the city, it was about how close we were." Piper said with raised eyebrows. Jason nodded with a smile.
"Yeah." He nodded.
But Percy felt like he'd stepped…smelled meat cooking over a fire.
"It sounds really beautiful." Beckendorf smiled at the Romans.
"You stayed in Rome too right?" Lee said to Percy who nodded.
"It really is beautiful. Camp Jupiter has a very ancient Rome vibe to it and it would definitely be a hot tourist sport but CHB shows the whole beauty of Greece and all and I loved staying in Rome but CHB just feels like home because it is home to me. Nothing can change that so that's why I chose Greek too." Percy said. The Greek campers smiled and the Romans nodded.
"Rome is more of the military kind so everything is order there." Hazel said
"That's not my thing." Percy chuckled. Everybody laughed.
"Nor ours." The Greeks chorused. Jason shrugged.
"Honestly, I was fine with it but I just wanted to be me for some time so I chose Greek and also because it was like raw, you know?" Jason said. The demi youngers nodded.
"I find both amazing and unique in their own ways. I just prefer Greek." Annabeth said. Everybody nodded.
Something about this place felt…front from the claws of a gorgon.
Hades sucked in a breath and wrapped an arm around Hazel.
One of the monsters had tagged her with a 50% off sticker.
Everybody snorted in amusement.
"Definitely Beano." Travis nodded sagely. Everybody snickered.
"I slowed them down," she said… I can't get my dress wet."
"Disgusting." Artemis shook her head.
Percy bit his tongue… smelly, heavy, useless hippies.
Everybody except Hera and Zeus laughed. Hera shot Percy a glare which he ignored.
"You were asking for Persassy to strike." Connor told her with an easy shrug. The demi youngers nodded.
But he'd come this far…he couldn't afford to get an F.
"So no pressure." Percy snorted. There were a few chuckles.
"None at all." Dakota played along.
He stumbled a few times as they…Percy stopped to catch his breath
Poseidon took a deep breath as Percy's breathlessness washed over him.
The current was fast, but the…my turn to hold off the baddies."
Ares gave a small smile to Frank.
Hazel nodded and waded… The Tiber will wash it away."
"Wait what? So that's how he lost the blessing." Nico sighed.
"Honestly, as much as I loved the fact of the iron skin thing but the thing is that once they get your spot, no healing can cure it but if you get multiple cuts or stab wounds, you can survive with some medical attention." Percy said
"That's true." Will agreed.
Percy was too exhausted to understand…he'd been injected with caffeine.
Poseidon's eyes widened as an energy boost went through him. He looked a little amazed at how much of a boost the water gave Percy and raised an eyebrow at him who shrugged.
He reached the other side and put…pain as their claws dug into his skin.
Ares groaned in pain and winced as his arms started pooling with blood. Clarisse and Frank shot up in worry. Michael grabbed the book and continued reading.
"Its not too long. The claw part." He stated
"Then read." Clarisse said
The sentries yelled, but Percy…the current returned to normal.
Everybody cheered. The sea gang looked at each other in amazement. The demigod was tired as heck and just with one power boost he was able to do that. There was absolutely no wonder as to why this batch of demigods were turned into gods.
"That was amazing." Lee grinned.
"Thanks man." Frank smiled. Percy grinned at him and Lee.
"Of course." He said to Frank.
Percy stood on the riverbank…He felt exposed, raw…vulnerable
Poseidon shuddered as the weird feeling hit him and his clothes steamed a little.
"That would be the case as your blessing washed away." Hades nodded
"At least it doesn't hurt as much." Percy shrugged.
In the middle of the Tiber, Frank stumbled…helped him ashore.
Ares sighed as his wounds closed up. Michael tossed the book back at Clarisse. She glowered at him as he was smirking but sighed and continued reading.
Only then did Percy realize how quiet…old lady June looked unfazed.
"And that everybody was kind of like my claiming at Camp Jupiter." Percy declared. Everybody chuckled a little.
"It really was surprising. No demigod makes such an entry into camp with such extraordinary display of power." Reyna shrugged.
"Percy has a way with such claimings." Beckendorf grinned. Percy snickered.
"Well, that was a lovely trip,"…she'd seen him in her nightmares.
Percy grimaced.
"Ooh, I'm sorry about that." He said. Reyna waved it away.
"What's done is done. I don't blame you." She said. "You're a friend." She nodded with a smile. Percy grinned at her.
June laughed with delight…he almost impaled himself on his sword.
Everybody snickered.
"Genius." Travis snickered
"Far from genius." Will shook his head quickly.
Hazel was the first to speak…showing her that much respect.
"Yeah, you deserved that all right." Piper nodded.
"Juno, huh?" he said…Perhaps there's hope for you yet."
"Thanks." Percy said dryly to Hera.
She turned to the other kids…but now he is awake.
"You are the one who put him to sleep." Triton gritted his teeth.
His fate is in your hands…We'll talk about it later.
"Those are Percy's though." Clarisse pointed out to Frank.
"I was curious. Sorry dude." He said to Percy who chuckled.
"No problem, really. They came in useful for all of us later." He said
"Oh you're dad's not going to be happy." Frank grimaced. Percy winced.
"I forgot." He groaned.
"What?" Poseidon asked in a voice which was higher than usual.
"Lets just read on." Percy suggested weakly. Poseidon nodded tentatively, not looking forward to whatever his son did with those vials.
The girl in the purple cloak stepped…to run him through with her dagger
"Oh I did." Reyna clarified.
"I knew that." Percy said with a light squeak. Reyna smirked at that and then the two of them burst out laughing.
"You really didn't like me then." He shook his head. Reyna nodded.
"So," she said coldly…she wouldn't appreciate it.
Reyna nodded with raised eyebrows.
"Percy being observant number million." Nico declared. Reyna nodded in agreement with an amused look on her face.
"Right now, with the both the observations in the book, I'm not able to decide if that's good or bad." She stated
"I think good for probably both." Annabeth said with a smile. Percy grinned sheepishly.
"Hazel," said Reyna…"if she's brought us an enemy to kill."
"Yeah. Nope. You didn't like him." Nico chuckled. Reyna chuckled as well.
"Everybody warms up to him eventually though." Annabeth smiled. Percy grinned and winked at her.
"It was just so weird to see him after all those years." Reyna shook her head.
"Chapter's done guys." Clarisse said, holding up the book.
"I'll read." Amphitrite sighed and Clarisse handed her the book.
