"Oh come on. Another chapter from my POV?" Percy groaned
"Dude, we've missed your POV." Travis said with a grin.
"Well, I haven't." Percy shook his head
PERCY WASN'T SCARED OF GHOSTS, which was lucky
"Thanks to me, I suppose." Nico said with a dramatic hair flip which was a bit different than his usual because his hair was in a ponytail. Percy snickered.
"Yeah well. No doubt about that." He snorted
Half the people in camp were dead
The Roman demigods chuckled.
"Those are Lares." Dakota said in amusement.
"I didn't exactly know then." Percy defended.
"I know." Dakota grinned
Shimmering purple warriors stood…like "Greggus!" and turned invisible
Percy gave a dramatic gasp to add some mood. Everybody burst out laughing.
"Its technically Graecus right?" Will asked. The Romans nodded.
"It's kind of creepy that the Lares can identify a Roman from a Greek. It could cause some problems for Percy if they tell somebody and they believe them." Annabeth pointed out
"That is true but not everybody believed them and Juno brought Percy so there would probably be a reason for that seeing as it isn't just escorting him to camp. Octavian was a pain as well but that was a general and he's always a pain." Frank said with a shrug at the end.
"Octavian was definitely a pain." Percy nodded in agreement.
Percy wished he could turn…all this attention made him uneasy
"Too much attention always makes you uneasy." Thalia chuckled at Percy. The demi youngers and some of the gods nodded as well.
He stayed between Hazel and Frank…like fourteen-karat gold.
"Thank you." Hazel smiled at Percy who grinned at her.
"This is a great description as she's a daughter of Pluto and has more control over the jewels part." Nico chuckled.
"I like it." Hazel nodded. Everybody chuckled.
"They're Lares. House gods."…but larger than apartment gods?"
Everybody looked at Percy in amusement while he just grinned sheepishly.
"They're ancestral spirits,"… steroids and joined the Marines
"Hey!" Frank pouted at Percy.
"Sorryy." Percy said with a sheepish look.
"Mhmm. My face goes well enough with my body now." Frank said. Hazel chuckled fondly.
"The Lares are kind of like mascots,"…Graecus means Greek."
"Well, you have a natural sense for Greek but you do understand Latin as well." Jason said to Percy who nodded.
"That's true. Greek is hardwired into my brain seeing as I am Greek but I was able to grasp Latin thanks to Camp Jupiter and Chiron too." Percy said with a grateful grin at Chiron who smiled at him.
"Nico too right?" Jason asked Nico who nodded.
"I can understand both almost equally well but sometimes I do have problems with certain Latin phrases. Mostly, I understand Greek but I had to be kind of fluent in Latin when I started visiting Hazel at Camp Jupiter so people wouldn't get too suspicious when they asked me to switch from English to Latin." Nico informed
"That's pretty cool." Michael grinned at Jason, Percy and Nico who returned it.
"I think Nico knows the most languages out of all of us?" Will said
"Piper knows French too. Leo and Chris know Spanish." Jason said thoughtfully.
"Yeah but we don't know Latin so that limits it down to two languages." Chris said
"Leo and Annabeth know Morse code as well." Piper remembered.
"And Frank knows Chinese." Hazel said
"So Leo, Frank and Nico are kind of tied." Percy said. Leo and Nico grinned at each other. Frank nodded with a smile.
"Though Chiron knows the most." Annabeth said. Everybody chuckled at that.
"That is true." They said
"Though now you guys know all the languages in the world." Apollo grinned. The demi youngers high fived each other.
"I taught Percy morse code." Annabeth said. Percy grinned at her.
"It was easy though." He said
"It would be because it was used at sea too." Poseidon smiled at him.
"Oh cool." Percy grinned.
"Is that bad?" Percy asked…Is your family from there?"
"Well, news flash." Connor chuckled. Everybody laughed.
"I am Greek and yes, you could say that my family is Greek too. Well, my dad is but my mom isn't Greek." Percy said with a grin.
"Good to know." Frank chuckled.
"Don't know. Like I said…He sounded pretty worried.
Everybody snickered.
"Way to be subtle." Dionysus said amusedly. Frank turned a little red but grinned sheepishly.
They stopped at the center…HADES 2310 MILES (pointing straight down)
Everybody burst out laughing. The Underworld gang was laughing the hardest.
"That's way too accurate." Nico choked out. The Romans winked.
RENO 208 MILES, AND CERTAIN DEATH: YOU ARE HERE!
There were a lot of weird expressions at that.
For certain death, the place looked…designed by a fussy math teacher
Everybody snickered. Annabeth shook her head fondly at Percy.
The barracks had shady porches…something that looked like a hamster.
"Talking about animals, I still find it amazing that you have unicorns." Silena said with a smile.
"They're pretty cool. We love that you have pegasi though." Hazel chuckled with a grin.
"We could drop by both camps and enjoy with both." Frank suggested. Everybody nodded.
Along the Via Praetoria, rows of shop…we have war games after dinner."
"Are the war games like capture the flag?" Connor asked curiously
"Kind of. Not really." Percy said with a tilt of his head
"Capture the flag is kind of more fun and like only two teams are there. The war games are based on cohorts." Nico explained "And there's a different concept to it. But like we have Capture the Flag, they have war games." He said.
Connor nodded.
"Capture the flag is the best." Travis grinned.
"It is very fun." Frank nodded.
"We played it at the very start when we came here. I still remember it." Clarisse said with a grin.
"Our team won." Ares grinned and the ones on the team high fived.
The thought of dinner made Percy's…Reyna would let him get an order to go
Everybody chuckled. Poseidon rubbed his stomach.
"Now I feel hungry." He muttered. Percy snickered and grinned sheepishly at him.
The crowd dispersed reluctantly…scowled at them, and they cleared off.
Artemis grinned at Reyna.
"The power of the scowl." Dakota said. Reyna smirked.
"Thalia's scowl or Reyna's?" Nico muttered to Jason and Percy.
"Thalia. Definitely. Reyna's is deadly af but Thalia's makes you feel like that you're going to be a fried guy in two seconds." Percy muttered back quickly.
"Hazel," Reyna said…caused enough trouble this week."
"Hey!" Clarisse protested. Ares gave Reyna a glare.
"He deserves to tell what happened. That's why we don't do things according to ranks. It makes one feel below the other." Castor said.
"That's the way Roman things work. Its not really that bad but I might have been too harsh. I was angry about Percy so I took it out on Frank. Sorry." Reyna said and apologized to Frank which he gave a small smile to.
Frank's ears turned red…demigods who had gotten on Reyna's bad side?
The Greek's eyes widened a little and they looked at the Romans questioningly.
"We don't use it. Its just there. It's a hideout if anything." Frank clarified quickly. Everybody visibly relaxed.
In the center of the room…Their fangs looked sharp as razors.
"Ah. Aurum and Argentum." Nico said with a nod.
"Freaked me out the first time." Percy muttered. Reyna chuckled.
"Silver and Gold," Percy said…that that was a stupid question
"Not really but maybe at that time." Reyna said thoughtfully.
"Yeah. I was a bit more focused on not getting run through with your dagger." Percy said amusedly.
Reyna set her dagger on the table…a new home and regain his memory.
"That's fairly normal. You think Lupa was in on Hera's plan?" Dakota asked
"She might have had a hunch. She didn't know the whole plan." Hera said
None of it seemed to surprise Reyna…one didn't feel like the right place
"Trust the instinct." The demi youngers chorused.
"Your instinct is mostly always accurate. Just try to blend in for now." Hephaestus advised.
"That's what I tried." Percy nodded "Had to go on a quest." He said.
Also, he was reluctant to share his…have kissed me a lot, Percy thought
Mostly everybody wolf whistled and Percy and Annabeth turned bright red and looked at each other with grins.
"What I find really adorable is that Percy's only clear memory is that." Silena squealed. This caused Percy and Annabeth to turn even redder.
"They're the definition of kind of 'I'm supposed to hate you' to 'friends and best friends' to 'I love you till we die' trope." Aphrodite added with her own squeal. Piper just looked weird sitting there and just smiled at Percy and Annabeth.
Poseidon chuckled at Percy and Annabeth and Athena still wasn't looking too pleased.
He feared that if he spoke about…which made him uncomfortable
The Greek demi youngers grinned widely.
"The same modesty." Beckendorf smiled
All he'd done was carry a hippie bag lady.
Everybody shook their heads fondly at Percy who gave them a smile.
Reyna studied him…You're what, sixteen?"
"Dun dun dun. You're correct!" Percy announced. Reyna gave a small smile.
"He's not even 18 in that." Poseidon glared at Hera.
"I think so," Percy said…"I've been told that I smell."
Everybody snickered. Grover looked highly amused.
"We've all been told that." Nico played along
"Been there, done that." The Stolls grinned and said in unison.
Reyna almost cracked a smile…Maybe she was human after all.
"Haha so funny." Reyna said, trying to keep a straight face but ended up laughing at the end. Percy grinned sheepishly at her and everybody was snickering.
"You must've been somewhere before…maybe for a long time.
"So you left him asleep for four freaking months at fates know where. He wasn't even at the wolf house." Poseidon said, his voice dangerously controlled but it shook with rage.
"What kind of person does that?" Artemis hissed at Hera. Hera grimaced and winced with some fear of her brother.
"I know you didn't care about Percy and I still don't know if you do but even if you cared nothing for him, no sister would ever do that to her own brother's son." Poseidon growled. "Percy's a person. He's your family. But like Hephaestus said you only care about perfect family. I thought that being your brother, my son might just be treated well by you and you would value his choices but apparently not." He stated.
Hera looked shocked as the wave of the harsh waves struck her. The elder gods looked at Poseidon and sighed. None of them said anything to defend Hera or argue against Poseidon at this point of time.
Percy was looking at his dad and sighed as well. He just gave him a side hug. The others didn't know what to say either. They looked uncomfortable or stunned and Ares quietly took the book from Amphitrite and continued reading.
But that didn't make sense…a good omen. Especially now."
"So every time I turn up at a camp, something major has to happen. Guess I just carry that vibe with me." Percy snorted.
"The people at Camp Jupiter were just not too friendly with the idea of a son of Neptune. Now they're good with it but like before." Dakota said
"I know that." Percy nodded.
"What's wrong with Neptune?"…Hazel shot him a warning look.
"Questions are good. I don't think I can be more clueless than I am in the book." Percy said
Reyna kept pacing. "You've fought…best he could and putting it back on.
The Greek campers smiled.
Poseidon's shirt was cut in multiple places now.
As for the necklace, the four…remember what they meant.
Percy flinched and shot Hera a vicious glare.
"Do what you want. Do whatever the fuck you want to do with the plan of yours. But you do not…you do not take away the memory of my friends and my family. Those are the memories that you are never to fucking touch in your life and in my life." He growled.
"I already know you took away these memories. Right now there is nothing I can change about that but you do not touch those memories ever." He said. The temperature around Hera dropped to a freezing point and the time around her seemed to slow. Dionysus swore violently and he ran to Percy.
"Control it. Calm down. Take a deep breath." He instructed. Percy realized what happened and his eyes widened as he regained control. He took a deep breath. He glared a little at Hera but then rested his head against the wall. Everybody stared at him but it wasn't in fear. Hera was frozen to her place and made million mental notes of not messing with Percy or doing anything to him without his permission. Dionysus sighed and patted Percy on the shoulder. The young god looked at Dionysus.
"It happens. Yours was much better than what happened to me. And it was much better than it could have been. It will happen to everybody during these readings. Don't worry about it. It'll get better." Dionysus said gently. Percy nodded. Chiron smiled at Dionysus, proud how much his friend cared about their students.
"Thank you." Percy said gratefully to Dionysus who nodded.
"That was deserved." Triton said to Hera and nodded at Percy. Nobody disagreed.
"Its all right, son." Poseidon said to Percy. The young god's friends nodded and gave him small smiles as well.
"Thanks guys." He said gratefully.
"I don't know," he said…like Imperial gold, but even rarer."
"Yeah, that's true." Beckendorf nodded.
"Imperial gold?" Percy asked…cross with curved arms and a head:
"That's mine or Pluto's sign." Hades confirmed.
"Hmm. I thought it would be a skull." Travis wondered out loud.
"Many people think that but officially that's my sign. So that would be the sign that would appear on the top of my childrens' heads when I claim them." Hades informed
Percy looked at his own arms…"We haven't given up."
"Thanks guys. I appreciate it." Jason smiled at the Romans who returned them.
Reyna grimaced…more to her than just a colleague.
"Perceptive Percy strikes again." Thalia said with a raised eyebrow. Piper snorted. Jason gave her an amused look.
"Elections only happen in two ways,"… "You have a feast for tuna?"
Everybody burst out laughing at that.
"Of course you would hear Fortuna as tuna." Nico snickered
"Tuna? Really?" Thalia chuckled with a raised eyebrow
"Hey, the first two letters weren't so clear." Percy defended and then pouted.
Everybody snickered.
"Fortuna," Hazel corrected…me that day is this week?"
"Another one of those typically short deadlines to finish a quest." Pollux stated
"Yep. Another one of those." Percy sighed.
Reyna's fingers tightened around…They had the same enemies
The Greeks and Romans smiled at each other.
"Well, the ones who were against us hoped that we would be each other's enemies. At least, it didn't turn into a whole civil war." Nico said
"That was Octavian. He's an idiot." Frank said.
"That's true. We're friends. No rivalry." Jason said.
"No rivalry." Percy smiled. The gods gave their children proud looks.
Besides, Percy remembered what Juno…compare notes…about your past."
"Octavian is literally the worst person you can trust to decide anybody's fate." Annabeth said
"I didn't trust him but he was the only augur we had. We needed somebody to deal with the prophecies and everything." Reyna sighed.
"Chapter's done." Ares said
"I'll read." Aphrodite said.
