FRANK DIDN'T REMEMBER MUCH…he was striking down his problems.
"That is indeed the best way. Trust me when I say that." Nico said casually as sipped coffee and gestured it towards Frank.
"Agreed, brother." Percy nodded
"Oh yeah." Clarisse agreed
"I've seen these three train and they are not joking." Will shook his head
Snipers in Afghanistan…fence post and stuck there, quivering.
Ares winced and so did Frank.
"Get it all out." Lee said slightly encouragingly.
"Fai," said his grandmother…All she cared about was her stupid collection
"She cares more than you might think then, Frank." Ares told him. Frank nodded.
"I get that now. I guess back then it was just the anger." He sighed
"Stop this ridiculous behavior,"…That was cool
"It does sound lit." Michael grinned.
"I know right." Frank grinned back.
Grandmother sat next to him…what she told me about your father."
"Wise." Athena commented
"Wait ... what?" "Your father was a god," she said plainly
"That's one way to give it." Apollo chuckled.
"Straight to the point." Frank agreed with a smile.
If Grandmother had had a sense of humor…Was she going senile?
"She wouldn't like that." Ares chuckled.
"Oh, she didn't." Frank clarified.
"Stop gaping at me!"…gods want to date Chinese Canadians?"
Everybody couldn't help but snicker.
Grandmother's nostrils flared…to its roots and bring you great honor.'"
"I like her." Leo nodded with a grin. Everybody nodded in agreement.
Grandmother snorted…this one did not see the future clearly
"Oh, she was right, all right." Frank muttered
Whatever the case, she said…The Greek name for Death
"God." Hades corrected automatically
Now may I continue without…your son is destined to die.'"
"That's one of the not so sweet parts of the deal." Dakota sighed.
Frank could hardly breathe…If you do not believe it, burn it.
"Yeahh, no." The house of heroes echoed. All the gods chuckled lightly.
"Wasn't going to do that." Frank chuckled.
Frank closed the box…meet your father again."
Ares sighed guiltily.
"She thought…she thought he'd…she was kicking him out.
"She's just sending you to a safer place, dude. I know how it feels but trust me, it's always better." Percy told Frank who nodded.
"I wouldn't have got to meet any of you guys had I not gone to Camp. It did do things for the better." He said with a smile.
"You'd just let me go?"…to realize she was near tears.
"Even the bravest are vulnerable." Nico said.
"Its good." Percy added
"How's it good? Vulnerability is a weakness." Athena said with half curiosity and half a scoff.
"Its good because it shows you have feelings and that you're not a hardened wall of metal who feels absolutely nothing." Percy said with a hard look in his eyes but a controlled and calm tone. Athena knew not to say anything beyond that because by now even she had come to realize when Percy was getting annoyed and why so she just nodded.
She'd lost her husband years ago…stiff and correct as ever.
"I like her." Artemis nodded approvingly with a smile. "She's strong."
"Everybody likes her." Frank sighed
"When you arrive at camp,"… by their own merits," Reyna had told him
"I'll always be grateful to you for that." Frank smiled at Reyna.
"You don't have to. A person should always be judged for who they are." Reyna said, returning the smile
"Yeah, not everybody's the same." Annabeth agreed.
"But do not mention the name…her decision to let him join.
"Not true." Reyna clarified. Frank smiled.
All of this ran through Frank's head…but we could do it."
"That's amazing." Beckendorf said with awe
"Very impressive." Hephaestus agreed
"Makes it easier to travel or repair damages." Dakota informed
"Quite the skill." Demeter remarked.
"Let's not," Percy said… that captures the banners gets all the glory."
"We have to play this." Clarisse said, her eyes shining.
"Indeed." Ares nodded.
"Maybe we could plan it soon." Chiron suggested. Everybody nodded immediately.
Percy stumbled, trying to keep time…"Especially that," Hazel agreed.
"Handy." Half the people in the room said and grinned.
They marched to the center of the Field…would be watching with binoculars.
Everybody looked at Nico amusedly.
"What?" he protested
"Just the mental image." Hades told him with a chuckle causing Nico to laugh and the others to laugh.
Frank propped his pilum against his shield…"I don't know. Maybe."
Percy shook his head in slight annoyance.
The only thing that wasn't regulation…died all the time, and we liked it!"
"That's exactly what he would say." Reyna laughed.
"I can imagine it so well." Dakota snickered.
Hazel laughed. "Just stay with us...his hyperactive bug-juice fits
Dakota blushed and Castor and Pollux grinned identically.
"She's the only one, eh?" Castor wagged his eyebrows at Dakota. Pollux grinned and nudged Dakota in the shoulder teasingly. Dakota turned redder and grinned shyly. Everybody chuckled. Dionysus smiled at the three of them.
"She's the one." Pollux teased causing Dakota to turn even redder than considered possible.
Still, the campers grumbled and complained…like you controlled the river—"
"Exactly!" The entire sea gang except Percy exclaimed. Percy and Frank exchanged grins.
"That's going to help by a lot especially since we haven't had anybody with those powers. The three of your different fields combined would easily help win the games." Dakota grinned
"And that's teamwork." Reyna nodded. Frank, Hazel and Percy grinned at each other.
"Frank!" Hazel beamed…control the cannons from this far away."
"I think now you can right?" Hazel asked. Percy nodded.
"I think." He said
"We'll get you closer…"Never mind. It's fine.
"Sorry." Frank said apologetically.
"It's all right." Hazel smiled.
Percy, he's talking about the trenches…"I told you Pluto was cool.
"Why, thank you?" Hades said to Frank who gave a half grin.
He's the god of everything under… good enough to get Apollo's attention.
Ares winced. Apollo gave him a small smile but Ares didn't look like he felt better. Apollo frowned. He'd have to talk to Ares in the break about Frank wanting him and not Ares. Even though the kid had got past it, the book was certainly reigniting the guilt.
"The rest is up to me," he said. "Let's go.
"Chapter's done." Hestia said
"I'll read." Poseidon offered. Hestia gave her brother the book with a warm smile.
