If you've read any of my Torchwood drabbles, you'll know I live for variety and anything goes, though my writing is primarily on the fluffy side.

Summary: It's almost Halloween, time to procure a pumpkin or two

"Are ya gonna carve a pumpkin for Halloween?" Dee asked as he and Ryo left work.

"Probably, if the supermarket's got any decent ones left. I know Bikky would have fun carving one, he loves anything messy, and it would mean I could make a pumpkin pie and freeze it for Thanksgiving. They're always so much better made with fresh pumpkin. The canned stuff might be convenient, but it never tastes the same. What about you?"

"'Course. Wouldn't be Halloween without a scary pumpkin! I usually just toss the insides though. Hey, if I brought my pumpkin over to your place, we could carve 'em together, then maybe you could make a pie outta mine too, so all the good stuff wouldn't go to waste. I mean, I'd pay ya for a pie, wouldn't ask ya to make it for me for nothin'."

"You don't have to pay, Dee." Ryo looked thoughtful. "You know, it wouldn't take much more effort to make several pies; if we got enough pumpkins, I could make some for the orphanage as well."

"Seriously? You'd do that?"

"Why not? I like baking."

"That would be awesome! But I'm payin' for the pumpkins."

Ryo grinned. "Deal."
