THE OLD MAN WAS RIGHT WHERE…I don't see.
"That was a poor joke." Connor stated
"Agreed." Hermes said with a small grin.
Have you come to kill me…"She isn't for sale."
"Yeah, you ain't living in the old times, mate." Travis nodded vigorously
"Oh, please! You're from…A minion of Jupiter."
"He may have the ability to see the future but he clearly lacks a brain." Zeus said, shaking his head. Percy snorted water through his nose as the poor guy was drinking some. Poseidon glared at Zeus who shrugged.
"Can't blame me." He said
"We're related to him?" Tyson asked Percy who nodded.
"Unfortunately, big guy."
"Does that mean that I cannot hurt him?" Tyson asked Poseidon who looked taken aback and couldn't find the words to say anything but Percy answered for him.
"In his case, no it doesn't mean that but he's already dead, Ty but I think Uncle H would be open to suggestions about…certain methods." Percy told Tyson who looked like he was going to burn with anger.
"I would but I don't think you'd need to give me any suggestions. I have plenty of ideas of my own regarding Phineas." Hades told Tyson darkly.
"Brother-" Poseidon started.
"Don't." Hades told him.
Artemis sensing the tension thought it best to continue reading.
Ella squawked…No minions. Nope."
Most of the people laughed at that.
"I feel bad for her." Silena shook her head.
Hazel put her arm around…screaming and twitching.
"She still like that with you, Perce? Because that'd probably gonna be problematic in the future." Jason grinned at him and Tyson.
"Hey, I get along with my sister-in-law just fine!" Percy said, putting his hands up in a surrender gesture. Tyson blushed bright red as he realized what his brother said.
"So do I." he said with wide grin and now it was Percy's turn to turn bright red and Annabeth shot Tyson a grin. Everybody else laughed and hooted.
"When's the wedding?" Thalia laughed. Annabeth stuck her tongue out at Thalia and Percy jokingly glared at her.
Frank stayed at Percy's side…it could cure your blindness."
"No goddamn way!" Poseidon, Ares and Hades yelled at the same time. Percy, Frank and Hazel grimaced, knowing what was going to happen next.
"Guys, relax. Maybe, there's something more to the plan." Hermes said but even his voice held question and he highly doubted that there was anything more to the plan.
Phineas held out his hands…I'm blind."
"That's a pity." Zeus said, his voice heavy with sarcasm. Thalia and Jason raised any eyebrow at each other, both out of amusement and worry.
"And I don't have your sense…We swear to drink at the same time.
"Perseus Jackson. You. Are. Grounded." Poseidon said all but shakily, gritting out each word. Percy winced.
"Shit." He muttered, knowing just how bad it was going to get.
"Sorry Perce, I probably should have risked it." Frank told him apologetically. "Its not like I could die anyways till the stick burned and I'm pretty sure that Gorgon's blood wouldn't burn it up." He said
"Stop that. It could have made it worse. We didn't how that concept worked and I guess…I guess it was my responsibility to put an end to that guy or maybe…I just wanted to and I wanted my memory back too, I guess. But anyways, what we did was right. We did have 146 options and this was the only one that made sense." Percy told him with a look in his eyes that made it clear that he didn't want to hear any arguments.
"It wasn't your responsibility and we all wanted to put an end to him." Hazel told Percy, ignoring the look in his eyes.
"Okay, fine. I agree. But that son of a bitch…he deserved everything. And I wasn't going to risk you guys to make him pay." Percy told her with a sigh.
"And he probably cared about hurting you more because firstly, he's your half-brother and secondly, you're a child of the elder gods and the one Gaea wanted the most." Beckendorf added.
"That made up half the reason too." Percy said.
Poseidon was soo not fond of this. He didn't want any of his sons dying and hated that both of them were on opposite sides and that Phineas would choose to be on Gaea's side.
"Right," Percy said…"Not an option."
"That takes guts, man." Chris shook his head.
Phineas smiled slowly…Annoying how that works.
"I like that part of the curse." Zeus said with a satisfied smile.
"Zeus, you're forgetting, he's still my son." Poseidon told him.
"I'm not forgetting anything, brother. I'm just making you realize just what an asshole your son is and just how much he deserved to be punished. According to me, Percy's doing the right thing. Maybe not by putting his life on the line which would be very valuable to those against us and the loss of which would distraught those on ours but by finding a way to get what we need and to get rid of him." Zeus said coolly.
"Again. He's still my son. Asshole or not. You can't tell me that you won't tell me off if I do what you're doing. You already cursed him." Poseidon said. "And yes, I understand that I do love Percy more but that doesn't mean that I don't feel a relation towards Phineas."
"You know exactly why the hell I cursed him." Zeus said, his eyes darkening slightly but his tone was the same. "And I cannot help that your son chose the wrong side or messed up. Not once. But multiple times. There are certain children of yours that I might care about but that doesn't mean that I have to care about them all except not like those of Phineas. You only care about certain children of mine and as for me doing the same thing, you would do the same to those children of mine who chose the wrong side so lets not create a whole argument over this." He said with finality in his tone.
"Guys, lets just read on and not aggravate the situation." Demeter said.
A completely unexpected gamble…just choose the poison."
"Goddamn motherfucker." Zeus growled. "Scared inside so he's trying to manipulate the other one and make them choose." He said.
"Whoa. Hey. Calm down. Relax." Percy said calmly but with a frown as he looked at Thalia and Jason who looked just as concerned if not more.
"What's wrong, dad?" Thalia asked him.
"Nothing's wrong. Just because I called him a motherfucker doesn't mean that anything's wrong." Came the reply.
"No. It doesn't mean that but this normally doesn't happen especially since Phineas didn't mention about choosing." Thalia told him
"Its always about choosing." Zeus sighed as his head hit the back of the wall. Only Thalia, Jason, Percy, Poseidon and Hades heard him. Thalia and Jason looked at Percy in worry and panic. Nobody had seen Zeus like that or heard him say stuff like that well maybe except his siblings. Percy's face remained calm but even he was quite worried and he knew just what this was about.
Hades also knew just what this was about and it just reminded him of how he was Zeus' elder brother no matter how annoying Zeus could get and then it just further reminded him of how he was supposed to talk to Nico and Hazel. Shit.
"Please continue reading." Percy said in a steady voice. His stomach growled just then.
"Was that an avalanche?" Connor asked with a raised eyebrow. Percy grinned sheepishly. "Sorry. I'm starving. Its been a long reading session." He said
"You're right. We'll take a break after this chapter. I think everybody's hungry. I'm pretty sure I heard a few other stomachs growl." Chiron smiled with a knowing look towards Clarisse who also grinned sheepishly.
Percy's mouth tasted like…He hadn't mentioned that.
"Goddamn it, Jackson!" Clarisse said angrily.
"What do you expect, Clarisse? It's a life or death potion." Percy sighed.
"I expect you to not goddamn take it and kill that guy and figure something out. Scam him. Find some loophole or go to somebody. Maybe ask the harpy if she knows." She said, glaring at him.
"We didn't have time." Percy told her.
"Do we have a deal?" …swept all the food off the picnic table.
"Bet you're feeling even hungrier now." Piper grinned at Percy
"Thinking about his food? Nah."
Phineas held out his hands…Because one of us is about to die.
Everybody was quiet just then.
"Did you just make a deal with Gaea?" Persephone said in a whisper.
"You need to know who to make deals with and that's especially with somebody who's stalking you and wants you alive for her own gains." Percy said simply.
"Percy, you made a deal with a primordial!" Poseidon said, trying to keep his voice controlled but unable to. "Do you know the implications of that?!" he all but shouted, trying to keep his panic under control.
"Yes. That's why I knew just what she would do." Percy sighed. Amphitrite put a hand on Poseidon's back to calm him down.
"I can't believe it. You had the guts to…how even." Leo said in shock.
"This has to be your craziest plan yet." Rachel said, matching Leo's and everybody else's shock.
"It better be." Poseidon told Percy.
Phineas curled his fingers…more than the one on the right.
"Well, I'll be damned. She actually listened." Hades shook his head in surprise, awe and pure shock about what his nephew just did.
Phineas grinned wickedly…His mouth tasted like gasoline
Poseidon immediately doubled over and dropped on all fours as he gasped for air and coughed.
"Oh shit. I forgot about this." Percy said as he immediately got up, knelt next to Poseidon and conjured a bottle of water.
"This isn't going to be good." Hades said grimly. Apollo nodded, worry etched on his features as he kept his supplies ready.
"Oh, gods," Hazel said…into his intestines.
A bit of blood trickled at the edge of Poseidon's mouth.
"That's not there in the book!" Percy told Apollo with wide eyes.
"His body's reacting worse than yours as compared to the book because gods have a lower pain tolerance as they rarely get hurt but he needs water." Apollo said, trying to calm down Percy and the rest of the sea gang who looked like they were panicking worse than Percy.
"Read on, Arty." Apollo told his sister. The faster they got this over with, the better.
"Percy!" Frank gripped…hunched over like he'd been punched.
Poseidon straightened up, the blood disappearing along with the pain.
"Well at least, he's not feeling Phineas' pain because that would be much much worse as he chose the wrong one." Chris said
"Seaweed Brain." Annabeth shook her head at her boyfriend. "I'm just glad that you're okay."
"Me too." Percy smiled at her.
Poseidon felt much better from what just happened but emotionally and mentally, he did not want to hear about any of his children dying especially not due to gorgon's blood because he knew just how bad it got.
"You—you can't!"… his fingers turning to sand
Poseidon flinched. Percy sighed, not saying anything.
"That's one horrible way to die." Rachel deadpanned.
Percy rose unsteadily…But the pain had stopped.
"It'll take a while, I think." Will told Percy who nodded.
"No one tricked you,"… more painful than gorgon's blood.
Everybody flinched at that.
"I don't think I ever want to know just what she meant by that." Nico said, shaking his head.
"I don't think that anybody wants to know." Thalia stated.
Hazel prodded the robe…I've ever seen, or the stupidest."
"That's me." Percy told Hazel with a small grin.
Frank shook his head…"We're running out of time."
"Chapter's over." Artemis said, shutting the book.
"Food time!" Percy grinned and got up.
