''Mommy?'' Brittany turns in her chair as a knock on the door followed by Nicolas sad tired voice pulls her attention away from paper work regarding her restaurant and opens her arms.
''What's wrong little love?'' She coos softly as she hugs him close after he immediately rushed over to hug her tightly.
''I miss mami.'' He whispers sadly. ''When is she coming home?''
Brittany sighs sadly knowing they both take the almost 5800 miles separation between them and Santana quite hard and rubs his back. ''I have no idea sweetheart, we don't know how long recording the movie takes.''
''But she is gone for two months already.'' He mumbles pouting as he nuzzles his face in her neck, Brittany bites her lip glancing at the calendar and tilts her head in thought.
''I know little love.'' She whispers, she glances at the time and sighs knowing he has to sleep and slowly stands up. ''Come on.'' She murmurs leading him out of the studio, she walks down the hall to the master bedroom, leading him with a hand on his shoulder and kisses his head. ''Lay down, I will quickly change and join you.''
She watches him slide into bed, smiling sadly as he immediately grabs Santana's pillow to cuddle with it and walks out of the room after changing in a long shirt and shorts. She walks back into the room after grabbing his pillow and favorite worn out teddy bear, handing it him as he looks up at her and slides into bed beside him.
She wraps her arms around him as he immediately snuggles close, kissing his head as he nuzzles his face in her chest and calmly runs her hand down his back. ''You have to sleep darling, you still have school this week.'' She murmurs knowing he will be home for spring break the week after.
''I want mami.'' He whispers sadly. ''I hate that she is so far away for so long.''
''I do too Nic but your mami has to work and this is an amazing career jump for her.'' She whispers against his head. ''We will call her tomorrow after school, alright?''
''Can we face time with her?'' She hums softly, kissing his forehead as he looks up and smiles.
''We can.'' She whispers. ''Try to sleep now little love, I will stay in bed with you.''
''You don't have to work?'' He asks frowning. ''I am sorry for disturbing mommy.''
''You didn't disturb at all.'' She whispers as she pulls him close. ''I am right where I want and need to be, work can wait till after I brought you to school tomorrow.'' She runs her fingers through his dark locks as he hums softly and places her lips on his forehead as he cuddles even closer, she feels him relax slowly as he stops fighting against exhaustion and sighs softly in relief as he drifts off.
She reaches behind her after carefully pulling one of her arms back and grabs her phone, she unlocks it holding it up behind his back to make sure the light won't wake him up and scrolls down her contacts after taking a spontaneous decision.
To YWC-Crew: Hey Crew I won't be available starting tomorrow till Sunday in two weeks, Marley and Kitty are in charge!
She exits the chat knowing Marley and Kitty already voiced the possibility of her being away for longer and offering to run the restaurant even though they already do since years and taps Sue's chat.
To coach: Hey coach I want to come back on our conversation yesterday, do you mind pulling me out of rotation the coming two weeks? Nic is sad and wants to be with his mommy, so I will use spring break and fly over with him.
She exits the chat knowing Sue will accept it immediately and scrolls down searching for the last person on the list, she taps Brittany Snow's name and types out her message knowing she can tell her family during lunch the next day.
To Brittany Snow: Hey Snowy, feel like surprising our future wife's and fly down to Germany with the little one's? I can book our tickets tomorrow and we can try to fly in the middle of the night, I don't think I can sleep on the first flight over so I can keep an eye on Jay so you can nap.
She places her phone down knowing Brittany has to decide herself if she trusts flying over with their three year old and kisses Nicolas head as she slides down, she smiles lovingly as he sighs contently in his sleep and tucks the comforter around him after turning the light on deciding that she can sleep early for once too.
The following evening.
Brittany walks into the living room after throwing the suitcases she managed to pack after allowing Nic to play a round of Fifa on the console in the family room and leans against the doorpost watching him with a loving grin. ''Hey little love?''
''Yes mommy?'' He asks immediately pausing the game to turn around and look at her.
''How fast can you change into comfortable clothes, grab one of the handheld consoles and slide on your shoes?''
''I don't know.'' He breaths out frowning. ''Why?''
''What do you say to visiting mami till the last day of spring break?''
''Really?'' She laughs as he jumps up in excitement and nods her head.
''Really.'' She breaths out. ''Brittany and Jay will join us and our flight leaves in two hours, so go change quickly and we will drive down to pick Brittany and Jay up on our way to LAX.''
She laughs as he jumps up with a big bright smile, walking over as he stops to turn the PlayStation off and kisses his head. ''I will turn everything off, go get ready little love.'' She takes the controller out of his hand as he nods his head with a big smile and exits the game after saving it, she walks over to the TV to plug it out and walks out of the family room making sure she turned everything off.
''Ready!''
She chuckles as he sprints into the room holding his backpack and walks over to him. ''Alright, let's make sure we turned everything off and drive off.''
Three hours later Brittany walks back to her seat with Jay on her hip and taps his nose. ''Okay?'' She asks softly making sure she won't wake Snow and Nicolas, Jay nods his head giggling as she tickles him and cuddles into her as she sits back down.
''Look clouds!''
She hums gazing out of the window and smiles. ''We are very high up.'' She agrees. ''Do you want to try and nap with your mommy?'' She leans over Nicolas as he nods his head and places him beside Snow's reclined back in her seat, she smiles as she immediately adjusts her position so he can cuddle into her and looks down as she feels arms wrap around her waist.
''Hey you.'' She whispers lovingly as tired blue orbs flutter open, she sits down beside Nicolas as he tugs on her shirt and leans back, wrapping her arms around his waist as he crawls on her lap ignoring that he is almost as tall as her fiance. ''Can't sleep?'' She asks softly.
Nicolas shakes his head, nuzzling his face in her neck and sighs tiredly. ''No, are we really staying two weeks with mami?'' She pulls back to look at her as she hums, feeling her hand calmly run down his back and tilts his head. ''And work?''
''Marley and Kitty will run the restaurant and Sue allowed me to take a break.'' She murmurs. ''I also don't have a gig and I rushed through readying a few mixes for them so I won't have to work and we can do lots of fun things while we wait for your mami to finish work.''
''And nobody complained?'' He asks softly. ''I know you have to work a lot too mommy and leaving for two weeks will cause you to miss some days.''
''Nobody complained.'' She reassures. ''I miss your mami just as much and not seeing her for two months is too long.'' She explains. ''Sue, Marley and Kitty already noticed that I want to fly down with you so they already told me that they can handle things without me, and Jay will take over my gig this weekend, Avalon knows.''
''And what will we do?''
''What do you want to do?'' She asks chuckling.
''Well our history teacher currently tells us all about the war that happened far before any of us was born.'' He whispers. ''She mentioned Berlin a lot, can we maybe go on a history tour if they offer that?''
''Learning during vacation.'' Brittany muses. ''That sounds like an awesome idea, I will ask the hotel what Berlin has to offer.'' She murmurs as she kisses his forehead.
''And can we go sightseeing with mami?'' He asks grinning, Brittany laughs and nods her head.
''Yeah I already planned to ask her that, I am sure she has one or two days off during the week so we can leave the hotel and do fun things with her too.''
Nicolas smiles brightly, cuddling back against her front and sighs softly. ''Thank you for planning this mommy, te amo.''
''I love you too baby boy.'' She whispers kissing the top of his head as he cuddles into her chest. ''Try to sleep a bit more darling, we have a very long flight ahead of us.''
Nicolas hums and sighs tiredly. ''Can I spend one day with Brittany, Anna and Jay too?'' He asks softly. ''So you and mami can go on a date?''
He giggles as he hears her surprised hum and wraps his arms around her shoulders. ''You and mami weren't together during your four year anniversary.'' He whispers. ''Going on a date and celebrating it a bit later will make it amazing too.''
''You are so thoughtful.'' She whispers against the top of his head. ''We will see what mami thinks okay.'' She smiles as he hums and runs her hand down his back as she kisses his temple. ''Go back to sleep, little love.'' She murmurs. ''I will wake you before we land in London.''
She reclines back as he hums tiredly, running her fingers over the small of his back under the shirt he wears knowing it will soothe him to sleep immediately and glances aside shaking her head as a stewardess walks over offering her a drink.
She takes out her phone as she feels Nicolas relax and smiles lovingly as her eyes land on her background, she runs her finger over Santana's smiling face as she gazes into the camera with a big grin, tightly holding on to Nic during his ninth birthday the year before and scrolls down to open her gallery to scroll through the pictures they took together the past four years.
''Four years and still as crazy as ever.'' She muses through a soft chuckle as she stops at the picture of last Halloween, she smiles lovingly as she watches the three of them looking into the mirror with a grin, Nicolas wearing a batman uniform, Santana wearing her cat woman uniform and she standing in the middle wearing a Harley Quinn uniform and chuckles softly as she scrolls to the next on of the three of them trying to look dangerous still wearing the uniforms.
She kisses Nicolas's head as she feels him nuzzle his face against her shoulder with a soft content sigh and smiles lovingly as she lands on the picture Santana took of the both of them during the premiere of cat woman 2, she glances down at her rings as she notices Santana's rings sparkle against the bright lights and licks her lips.
She leans her head back against the headrest deciding to relax so she is fit enough to spend the evening with her fiance after tucking Nicolas in and sighs softly. ''I fucking hate the distance.'' She grumbles softly to herself. ''Now I know how she feels whenever I have to travel international for soccer.''
