I may not own Power Rangers, but I do own this season. Karate Force and its characters are mines.
I hope you enjoy it.
"Ok mom, I'm heading out!" A boy's voice called from the front door of a two-story black house.
"Ok honey, have fun!" His mother replied from the kitchen.
In a quiet suburb of Milwaukee, a 16-year-old boy was racing through the neighborhood on his skateboard. He was pale-skinned and had medium-length red hair and blue eyes while wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, and brown sneakers.
His name was Max Cruz, and he was just on his way to the skateboard for yet another day of flips and turns, while also trying not to fall off and break a few bones. His insurance may get sick of his constant injuries. He just woke up already feeling a surge of energy, and he couldn't wait to get rolling.
It felt great. The sun was shining, and the streets were quiet, minus the sound of a bird chirping.
His mother chuckled as Max practically went cheetah on his way out.
But Max felt as if he was forgetting something. Something very important…
Then it struck him like a lightning bolt. He skids to a stop before pulling up his phone to check the time and date.
"Oh, crap…" Max muttered to himself. It's Saturday! I'm going to be late for class again! He thought to himself before turning his direction towards a different location.
Sensei is going to kill me!
"Dean-Jamal Tee! Get down here this instant!"
In a small, white house in the cul-de-sac of this small town, lived an African-American boy with short, puffy dark brown hair fluttered his eyes opened and groaned at the sound of his dad's voice.
Not this again! He thought to himself before hopping off his bed and getting himself ready for the day and preparing himself for whatever his father was going to scold him for this time.
After flicking his hair back, he tried on his ordinary attire, which consisted of a purple, unbuttoned plaid shirt with a black t-shirt underneath along with blue jeans and brown moccasins.
"DJ, get down here now!"
The boy, commonly known as DJ, groaned as he left his room and darted his way down the stairs.
DJ's relationship with his father has been quite tainted ever since his mom passed away in an accident while driving drunk when DJ was six years of age! Ever since then, DJ and his father would bicker a lot more frequently. Let's just say they went from getting along almost all the time to just 60 percent of the time, and DJ did not want to start this beautiful day with a made it down to the kitchen, where he saw his built-looking dad sitting at the table, with a piece of paper in his hand.
Mr. Tee looked up at his son and narrowed his eyes. "Do know what' in my right hand?"
DJ rolled his eyes. "Let me guess. Is it my grades?"
Mr. Tee smirked. "Wow, you are smart. I guess it is quite shocking how you got all Cs!" He glared at DJ.
DJ rolled his eyes. "Whatever, dad…" He muttered just loud enough for his father to hear.
Mr. Tee's expression softened as he realized a fight wouldn't solve anything. He stood up and looked deep into his son's light hazel eyes, which DJ got from his mother.
The father sighed. "I'm begging son. Just tell me what I can do to help you. Please" He begged, tears glistening in his eyes.
DJ sill kept his stubborn expression on his face. However, on the inside, he felt a strong spark of guilt. He wanted to say something, but his mouth remained shut.
"If you don't want to talk now, then we can talk later." DJ's father said firmly.
DJ's expression softened as he wanted to tell his dad that he wanted to settle this now, but before he would say anything, he felt his phone buzz.
He picked it up and found it to be a text from one of his best friends, Max. It read: DJ! It's Saturday! Sensei gonna be pissed if we are late again!
"Oh crap!" DJ yelled as he rushed to get his bag and made his way towards the front dad followed him about ten feet behind before calling out.
"Have fun in your kung-Fu class, son." He spoke with a forced smile.
DJ turned and narrowed his eyes at his father. He spoke through his teeth. "It's. Karate. DAD!" He spoke as turned back and slammed the door on his way out, leaving his father shocked and heartbroken.
Maya Garcia was in the driver's seat of her new but dusty car her mother picked out for her from the dealership shortly after she got her license. She was a beautiful tan-skinned girl with dark brown eyes. Her hair was a deep shade of black and was tied into two pigtails. A yellow shirt with sleeves covering 3/4 of her arms along with black shoes and tan khakis. She was parked across the street from her friend Max's house as she groaned.
Of course, he's gonna make me late for class! She thought, slamming her fist against the wheel. Those two idiots are the reasons for my tardiness.
Just then, the passenger side door opened. Maya looked to her right and sighed as her friend Max hopped in the seat, his breath short from running.
"Sorry I am late!" He exclaimed.
"You're always sorry…" Maya rolled her eyes.
Max gave Maya a confused look. "Why are you always grouchy?" He asked.
Maya scoffed. "Because, I-" She stopped as the back door behind Zack opened. They both looked back and saw DJ hop in, his breath also short from running.
Max grinned and gave DJ a fist bump. "DJ, my man! Now we can get going. Right, Maya?"
Maya growled quietly as she pulled out from the driveway and drove off to the dojo in the city.
Max was playing on his phone when he looked up and noticed Maya still had that hard look on her face. "Maya, what are you this angry?"
"Yeah," DJ spoke up, "you always seem to be in a grouchy mood recently.
Maya sighed. "Guys, I'm starting to question my friendship with you."
Max was baffled. "What do you mean?"
"I mean I had to put up with your shenanigans for the past 8 years we have been friends."
"That's nonsense!" DJ exclaimed.
"Yeah, remember the cool party we threw for your 14th birthday?" Max asked.
Maya tried to hold back a smirk but failed. "You guys forgot that my little brother was traumatized by that clown."
They all laughed for a bit and sighing.
"You know what," DJ began, "we have been a part of this school for many years, and we did have some good times, right?"
"Like the time we snuck out of class and sneaked into the girls' bathroom?" Max pointed out, snickering.
"Yeah, and we put white dye in Ellie's hair spray."
Maya laughed. "She looked like a ghost for a whole week. We nicknamed her 'ghost girl' for months."
They all burst into laughter. Max looked over at Maya and spoke. "Can't you go any faster?" He looked over at his phone to check the time. "We're gonna be late."
"Then next time drive yourself to class!" Maya exclaimed.
"Yeah Max, you have a license but little to no experience with driving," DJ spoke.
Maya looked at DJ through the rearview mirror and spoke. "Didn't you just recently failed your driver's test recently, Deej?"
DJ's eyes widened as he spoke loudly. "I promise it was an honest mistake I made that caused me to failed.
Max rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Yeah, driving the car through a McDonald's drive-thru window is an 'honest mistake."
DJ chuckled. "Hey, at least I was HONEST about it!"
Max laughed. "Touche."
DJ looked over at Maya and spoke. "Maya, we're friends and if you feel underappreciated, then I think we must say thanks for everything you have done for us, sister."
Max put a hand on Maya's shoulder and smiled. "Yeah, we're family right."
Maya looked over at Max, then at DJ, then at Max before returning her focus onto the road. She smiled and finally caved in. "Yeah, we're family."
They continued driving towards class, unaware of what was awaiting them that would alter their lives.
In a dark chamber in the middle of who knows where. A sinister man sat comfortably in his titanium throne. He wasn't completely human, but he sure looked like one. He was a Humanitor. Humanitors inhabit the dark place of Kartae. Several of them have spread out throughout the globe as undercover identities, but each Humanitors was armed with powers, and they are evil to the bone. The powerful figure was bald and looked extremely built. He wore what looked like a steel vest, and he was armed with a flute, where if you were to pull out the reed, it would grow a long blade great for battle.
He chuckled as he stood up from his throne. "Time to visit my friend Uni. I am sure he will enjoy seeing me crush his world."
That's the beginning of the first episode. Of course, there will be character development in this story.
