Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters in Digimon or the pictures and just like to tell a story.
Long ago, a weird message spread throughout the surrounding area of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Most of the adults just ignored it, but not the children. All of the kids followed the instructions leading them to the basement of a train station. Inside, trains were ready to take them to a place called the Digital World.
The Digital World was another planet where Digimon lived. The terrain and features were very similar to ones in the real world except for everything there was made of data or fractal code. Even the Digimon were made of data. If injured enough, fractal code would start appearing around them.
As the trains left, 5 children's cell phones started to change and turn into Digivices. They were Takuya Kanbara, Kouji Minamoto, Tomoki Himi, Izumi Orimoto, and Junpei Shibayama. These children were the next Digi-Destined chosen by the Legendary Warriors. They didn't know it yet, but they were about to go on a life-changing adventure.
Upon arriving, they found out that this new world was in danger from a dark archangel named Cherubimon and needed their help to stop him from destroying it. Following the stranger's message, the children started to travel and found the spirits of the Legendary Warriors turning them into Digimon. The experience was amazing.
From there, they journeyed through the Digital World and battled all kinds of Digimon. They fought against Beast-type Digimon and the other evil Legendary Warriors. Internal fights were made, and feelings were challenged, but in the end, they overcame it.
During their travels, they came across their sixth companion, Koichi Kimura. The boy was otherwise known as Kouji's older twin brother. Cherubimon manipulated the boy and used the Powers of Darkness on him. Thanks to Takuya and Kouji, he was saved and turned into the true Legendary Warrior of Darkness.
With their new companion and teammate, they finally made it to their destination: the castle where Cherubimon resided. Inside, they found Ophanimon imprisoned. She was the person who sent out the message to all of the children in hopes of saving her corrupt friend.
The children all fought valiantly, but the evil archangel was too strong and overpowering. Just as all hope seems lost, Ophanimon broke through her cage and tried one last time to reason with him. It didn't work. Cherubimon dealt a fatal blow to her.
Using the last of her strength, Ophanimon changed Takuya's and Kouji's Digivices. Following her final words before turning into a Digi-egg, the children listened to their spirits and found a new strength. By combining the spirits of the Legendary Warriors, they achieved the power of Unified Spirit evolution.
With their new power, the children managed to defeat Cherubimon after a gruesome battle. They did it. They won and saved the Digital World. That's what they thought though.
Shortly after, they learned about the true mastermind behind the destruction of the Digital World: Lucemon. In ancient times, he was an angel Digimon who descended to the world during the war between human and beast Digimon. With his power, he ended the war and brought peace to the world.
Unfortunately, the peacefulness was only short-lived. Due to Lucemon's beliefs and pride, he thought the world would be a much better place if he had absolute control over it and became a tyrant. He was unstoppable until the 10 Ancient Legendary Warriors rose and rebelled against him.
After a decisive battle, the Legendary Warrior managed to defeat Lucemon and sealed him in the dark area. Exhausted from the battle, they decided to spend the last of their lives in deep slumber. Before sleeping, they released their spirits and entrusted them with the three angels Digimon: Sherapimon, Cherubimon, and Ophanimon. For a time, peace finally came to the Digital World.
Little did they know, Lucemon never gave up. He bided his time and when it was right, he took the opportunity to corrupt one of the angels, Cherubimon, to do his bidding. The poor angel never even knew he was being manipulated.
Due to the corruption, he fatally attacked Seraphimon and took Ophanimon hostage. He then spread his influence to other beasts Digimon and 5 of the Legendary Warriors to steal data in the Digital World and find the other spirits of the Legendary Warriors. This is what led Ophanimon to send out the message to the children in the Real World. It was a good thing too, because the chosen children were able to defeat him. Now, they had to face the new enemies.
As soon as Cherubimon lost, Lucemon sent two Royal Knights to finish what he started. They were the Passionate Warrior, Dynasmon, and the Indifferent Warrior, Crusadermon. The duo was powerful too. The first time the Legendary Warriors battled, they mopped the floor with them and blasted them to the moon.
Even after multiple rematches, the children were beaten every time. But they never gave up. They kept fighting and getting stronger until finally the Royal Knights were defeated. Just as Takuya and Kouji were just about to scan their data, Lucemon jumped in and took the Knights' data for himself, turning him into a stronger form: Lucemon Falldown Mode.
This new form was even stronger than the Royal Knights together. Not only did Lucemon defeat two transcendent, mega-level Digimon, but he also destroyed all three moons in the process. After he collected the fractal code of the Digimon who survived the moons' destruction, he went back to the dark area to fulfill the knights' promise of going to the Real World.
Thankfully, all of the children survived thanks to a little luck and the power of the three reborn angels in their rookie forms. They had to stop Lucemon from entering their world. Digimon weren't supposed to be in the Real World. If one ever went there, it would lead to a distortion and then the world's destruction. The children weren't going to let that happen!
Quickly, the Legendary Warriors all spirit evolved to confront and stop Lucemon. They all fought hard but even together, they were no match against the prideful angel. Just as Lucemon released the finishing blow to the Legendary Warriors ending them, Koichi jumped in and blocked the shot. He managed to save his friends but at the cost of his own life.
Thanks to his sacrifice though, the other children managed to combine all the spirits of the Legendary Warriors and formed a being that far surpassed the Ancient Legendary Warriors. With this new power, they bisected Lucemon and purified him, forming two eggs.
Unfortunately, things were far from over. When the kids purified him, they were only able to take the light data, but not the darkness forming a black egg. Soon, the egg took in the data of the dark area and changed to take the form of a purple dragon holding a black orb. It was Lucemon Shadowlord Mode.
The dragon then flew into the direction of the Real World still intent on invading it. The children quickly follow suit chasing after him. They finally caught up to him when they reached the basement of the train station. It was the place where everyone first left for the Digital World.
They had to hurry. Lucemon was almost through the real world. The train station was the final barrier before entering Shibuya. When they finally caught up to Lucemon, they used all kinds of attacks on him. Too bad it didn't work. The dragon kept regenerating whatever attacks were thrown at it.
[Tide of Despair] Noticing the interference, Lucemon exhaled a purple flame of destruction blasting the Legendary Warriors back down the train station. They de-digivolved back into their human forms with their fractal code showing.
Takuya tried to get back in there but was stopped by Kouji. They couldn't stop Lucemon if he kept healing from damage. But how were they going to stop him then? Takuya pounded a broken elevator in frustration, while everyone else was in despair about what to do.
Just as everyone was at the point of giving up, the spirits of the Legendary Warriors appeared before them and spoke. They were talking with them!
When the Digi-destined fought as Digimon, the spirits were always with them as well. They've been together every step of the way and knew their feelings well. Knowing that the spirits were still with them gave everyone strength. This final battle was not over yet!
The children's spirit evolved together one last time into their mega-level Digimon. When Lucemon was about to break free into the Real World, the kids managed to pull him back down to the empty space of the Digital World. This was going to be their final battlefield.
After learning the dragon of Lucemon was just a puppet and was being controlled somewhere else, the children decided to take a risk. They plunged into the orb the dragon was holding and found the true controller. It was Lucemon Larva form.
The children quickly punched the larva Digimon cutting off the link with the dragon. With no one to control the monstrous beast, the dragon started to enter a berserk state attacking anything around him. The kids quickly used this opportunity to pin the dragon down and slice him in half. The dragon was defeated as fractal code escaped out of his body going back into the Digital World. But it wasn't over yet.
The larva of Lucemon came from behind the children, giving them a fatal blow. Before doing it though, the spirits of the Legendary Warriors released the children out of their form taking the hit themselves. "Why, you!"
"This world is mine!" Lucemon said. "It exists for me!"
"Why, you!" The spirits replied. They then dispersed out of their mega-level form each taking a slash at Lucemon.
"I lost..." Those were Lucemon's final words before he let out a scream as his body dispersed into tiny light particles. The fractal code didn't even appear.
They did it. The Legendary Warriors finally defeated Lucemon. Soon, fractal code started to appear out of their Digivices going back into the Digital World. Landscapes started to form. The once-empty Digital World soon became whole again full of life.
Unfortunately, the children couldn't admire the newly formed world, because the gateway to the Real World was closing. The children would be stuck in the Digital World forever if they didn't return. Quickly, the spirits grabbed their partners and pushed them on the way back home.
They barely had time to say goodbye, but they would never forget the time spent in the Digital World. The memories and lessons would always be with them.
In the middle of the trip, Kouji found out from the Spirit of Darkness that his brother, Koichi, was still alive. There was still time to save him, but he had to hurry.
The children soon came out of an elevator. Looking at the time on the clock in the station, it still showed the same time when the kids left for the Digital World. It seemed like they never left. Sounds like the two worlds' times each run differently.
Quickly, Takuya led everyone to where Koichi was when he was here as a Digimon called Flamemon. They found the stairs where Koichi fell and some officers. After inquiring, the kids learned that Koichi was transferred to the nearest hospital and rushed there themselves.
Entering the ER room, they found the boy laying on the bed with an oxygen mask. His eyes or vitals showed no signs of life. Kouji slowly walked toward his brother in tears and told him he was back. He wanted his brother to wake up, and spend time together. He hoped for a miracle to happen.
A miracle happened. All of the children's Digivices started to glow. Some of the light went into Koichi. As a tear slowly left Kouji's eye hitting Koichi's forehead, the comatose boy's eyes started to refocus. He was alive again.
Koichi slowly lifted his hand to hold his brother's and smiled at him. "I wanted to meet you too."
Takuya, Tomoki, Izumi, and Junpei all smiled and ran happily toward the brothers. Their Digivices turned back into cell phones finishing their experiences in the Digital World. It was finally over.
Or was it? The thing about endings is. It just means a new beginning. This story isn't over yet.
There was something the Legendary Warriors didn't notice. When Lucemon: Larva was destroyed and released a bright light, there was a small red magic circle that depicted a symbol hidden within. It looked like symbols of the Legendary Warriors but with a different design and pattern.
The magic circle dissipated and blended with the scattered light before any of the kids or spirits noticed it.
Somewhere in the space between the Real World and Digital World, there was a flat, circular altar made of ancient rock with seven pillars surrounding it and a giant stone diamond right in the center of them. Above the pillars were magic circles emitting ominous energy. They each had different symbols and colors. The colors were specifically red, light blue, orange, blue, purple, yellow, and green.
Suddenly, the red magic circle started to crack until it completely broke apart into a gas-like energy. The energy slowly entered the diamond in the center of the room. The stone briefly turned red before going back to its clear colors. Soon, silhouettes began to appear in front of the other magic circles.
"So Lucemon was defeated." Someone said, "The voice came from the yellow circle and he didn't sound sad to see the angel gone."He must've faced a tough enemy. He was the strongest one out of us all. Only by a bit though."
"That's what he gets for going alone." Someone else said giggling. It was from the green circle this time. "He should've waited for the rest of us, but as usual, his pride got in the way."
"At least he was able to accumulate enough energy for us, and his defeat has lit a beacon for an opening to the Digital World." The purple circle spoke. It sounded like an old man. "Should we take advantage to invade? Is it time to wake him up?"
The purple silhouette directed his gaze to the blue magic circle. The blue circle didn't say anything, but sounds of snoring could be heard through it. It appeared like the blue silhouette was sleeping.
"I don't care as long as I get to devour." The light blue circle spoke up growling. It sounded like a hungry beast. "Let's go right now!"
"Not yet..." Finally, the orange circle spoke up. Judging from how none of the others immediately said anything after, this orange silhouette was the leader of this circle. Lucemon may have been the strongest out of all of them, everyone here knew the orange silhouette was the most diabolical. Even Lucemon didn't want to fight this guy and his mind games.
"Reason being?" The purple circle questioned finally. "From what I have observed from Lucemon's final moments, the Digital World just reformed. Now is the perfect time to invade and take over.
The red magic circle was connected to Lucemon and was bonded with another magic circle. When the prideful angel was defeated, the others were able to see almost all of the memories of their fallen acquaintance. They were able to understand the situation.
"Then what?" The orange circle replied. He also saw those memories too. "Unlike Lucemon, our power still needs to grow or those children would save it again. No, we need a better plan."
"What do you have in mind?" The yellow circle asked.
"We wait. We enter the Digital World slowly integrating with it, and then change it from the inside. We strike and take over once we have accumulated enough power there."
"What about those children?" The green circle couldn't help but speak up. "As you said, even if we take over the Digital World, those kids will just save it again."
"Who said anything about just conquering the Digital World?" The orange circle couldn't help but let out a grin.
"You don't mean..."
"You all saw the memories. You know what those humans can do and their ingenuity. We could use that." The orange circle continued. "It might take a few human years, but once we control the Digital World, those children are next. Let's make sure they never set foot into the place again."
The orange silhouette said some more details about the plan and what to do. Everyone agreed to it. Once the discussions were finished and roles established, the silhouettes started to fade going back into their magic circle until the orange one remained.
"Enjoy the years of peace Legendary Warriors, because it will be the last moments you will ever spend." Those were his last words before he disappeared as well.
