THEY WALKED OVERLAND…rippling back and forth.
There were a few snorts of laughter.
"Did you just compare one of the most beautiful natural sceneries with a stove?" Artemis asked Percy who looked at her sheepishly.
"In my defense, I was feeling homesick." Percy told her.
"That's amazing,"… came here at their own risk.
"As amazing as that sounds, rules bind us with our world. They tell us what's right and what's wrong. What are certain limits that we cannot cross. They may seem like a pain but without rules, we'd never have progressed and we never would be able to either." Dionysus said. Everybody looked at him and he shrugged at the few questioning glances thrown his way.
"I don't talk much about it but that doesn't mean that I'm not aware." He told them.
Percy wondered if this…he put the thought aside
Everybody looked at Percy in light surprise but they all knew that Percy had had similar thoughts when the fight was against Luke as well but Percy was smart and everybody knew that. They all knew that he knew what the world would be like had immortals like the titans and the giants ruled them.
Gaea wasn't a gentle…destroy human civilization.
"Not just human civilization but all forms of civilization. She would go to a full-fledged war with the gods and though it has happened before, she would come back stronger this time around as she would be fueled with a stronger desire of revenge against us. Revenge is one of the most powerful motivator. It can be both positive and negative but in this case it would be filled with hatred." Hades shook his head
After another couple…MOOSE PASS GAS.
The monotonous mood disappeared at once and everybody roared with laughter.
"I'm sure they do." Leo said innocently.
"That's just wrong…—very sore blocks of ice.
Poseidon grimaced as he rubbed his feet.
Hazel put her head…So what do you think?"
"Exactly! If that doesn't make somebody proud then I don't think that anything can." Hazel exclaimed.
"You underestimate yourself, Frank." Nico told him.
Frank stared up at the…"We're all scared."
"It is something to be scared of. Honestly, it would be concerning if you weren't." Castor told Frank who sighed and nodded.
"Especially since its your first quest and its about defeating a giant. Trust me, we had to receive a lightning bolt and we were scared and worried. Doing this, well, its your right to be scared." Annabeth told Frank with a smile.
"To be fair to us, it was Zeus' lightning bolt. The world would be over had we not succeeded." Grover said with a chuckle to Annabeth.
"And this is why, children, always have good relationships with your siblings or cousins." Nico said in a voice like a teacher. Everybody snorted and Zeus, Poseidon and Hades looked at Nico in amusement but they looked like they agreed as well.
Thalia and Percy looked at each other with twinkling eyes and threw a cushion at Nico.
"I'm gonna kill you, mother-" Nico started as he got up and Hazel clamped a hand over his mouth. Everybody laughed.
"Yeah, brilliant relations." Percy chuckled.
"Eh, he loves us." Thalia said and Nico rolled his eyes.
"But the Feast of Fortuna…he'd never been so alone
"Yeah, that feeling's horrible." Hades said, looking at Percy with sympathy in his eyes. Poseidon winced and looked at Zeus who refused to make any eye contact and stared straight ahead, though he was vividly aware of Poseidon staring at him. Poseidon felt angry with Zeus but he mostly felt angry with himself as he thought about what had happened all those eons ago. He never should have let that happen. He had the power to stop it but he just stood by and watched.
"It's become home now. To lose it…well, it hurts." Percy shook his head.
"Its always like that." Hades sighed and told him. Poseidon winced.
"Well, nobody stopped you from asking to come back again. You just didn't do it." Hera told Hades. Hades looked taken aback. Nico and Hazel's eyes shot daggers at Hera. Percy looked at her with a calm face but everybody could see his anger lurking under the composure. Persephone looked like she was about to say something extremely nasty but before she or anybody could say anything, a sharp voice cut through.
"You will not speak to my brother that way, Hera." Poseidon growled at Hera, his sea green eyes dark, just as Percy's would get when he was angry, like violent waves. Hera's eyes widened in surprise and Hades looked at Poseidon with the same surprise and shock. Small smiles graced Percy and Nico's faces but they still glared at Hera.
"He is your brother as well. It shouldn't be something that I'm reminding you." Poseidon told Hera.
"Its not like you stopped anything that day." Hera told him. She wanted to take back what she had say because she had said it out of frustration but her ego stopped her and she felt angry that Poseidon put the blame on her.
"Something that I will regret for my whole existence." Poseidon told her, looking her straight in the eye. "Maybe its something you should regret as well." He told her. Poseidon looked at Hades who was also staring at him and he turned away, clenching his jaw, unable to meet his elder brother's gaze, not able to forget what had happened. He remembered how Hades had always been there for him whenever he had needed him. They used to be the best of friends and it felt like somebody had gut punched him every time he thought about how Hades would never do what Poseidon did to him and he'd just stood by and watched as his elder brother was banished from his own home for which he'd spent ages in a stomach and ages fighting for. Sometimes he thought that they didn't deserve him fighting in either war with them.
Hades looked at his younger brother who was refusing to meet his gaze. He had stopped believing that Poseidon would stand up for him ever again. He thought that those times were past no matter how much they were on speaking terms. He'd never thought that they could ever be best friends like they used to be. Nico squeezed his shoulder while Persephone held his hand while these thoughts swirled in his head.
Percy leaned towards Poseidon and kept his hand on his shoulder as well. Poseidon turned to look at Percy who understood at once the turmoil going within Poseidon.
"Do you want to talk about it? To me or to Uncle H or to anybody?" Percy asked him quietly.
"When we break." Was the reply. It was devoid of any emotion and Percy chuckled internally as he thought about just how similar his father and Hades really were. They really were, at least in the things that mattered the most.
Hestia took the book from her sister, sensing that she wasn't in any condition to read either.
Except for Hazel...he said to himself.
"Honestly, Percy's the best at giving motivational speeches." Grover commented.
"And philosophy ones too. I'd know. I took the class with him." Will said with a small smile.
"What class?" Demeter asked
"Oh, we had two sessions for everybody at camp related to philosophy and psychology after the first war and the second war. Percy and Will conducted them as they had the experience and the knowledge." Chiron informed. Everybody turned to look at Percy and Will. Apollo clapped Will on the back and smiled warmly.
"You majored in psychology as well, right?" Poseidon asked his son curiously who nodded.
"Yeah, along with marine biology." Percy answered. Poseidon nodded and gave Percy a smile.
"Its been ages since you guys had another one. I think another one would be pretty good. Honestly, I miss them." Pollux said to Percy and Will who looked at each other.
"You wanna do one?" Will asked Percy with a questioning raised eyebrow. Percy looked around him, remembered what had taken place a few moments ago and remembered the amount of fun that they'd had during the sessions though they discussed relatively heavy topics.
"Honestly, why not? It was amazing." Percy grinned. Everybody who'd been there for the sessions whooped and cheered.
"We'll have one with everybody then." Will smiled and Percy nodded.
"Rest up, Frank…time Hazel was born.
"Awful car but at least the guy was nice enough to arrange for your transport." Chris chuckled. Everybody nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, we didn't have to retrieve a shield for it either!" Percy joked and Ares barked out a laugh.
"Good one, punk." He said.
Hazel and Frank sat…experiences with cruise ships.
"I did get an awesome pegasus though." Percy chuckled
"That one cruise ship ruined cruise ships for me, if I'm being honest." Annabeth shook her head. It was for multiple reasons, it wasn't like she had trauma due to cruise ships but because of the fact that she'd seen Luke so far gone with her own eyes on that ship.
"Yeah, I'm not fond of cruise ships either." Beckendorf winced. Hephaestus, Percy and Silena grimaced. "But then, of course, it depends on the ship." He added with a grin, making everybody smile.
"Seward," Hazel said…the earth swallowed him.
"No!" the sea gang and a few others yelled. Poseidon swore violently in between heavy and quick breaths as the curse started to act up.
"It was muskeg." Annabeth said, shaking her head. Percy grimaced at the memory. Amphitrite immediately grabbed Percy's shoulder and held on tightly. She was so not fond of the idea of her stepson getting swallowed by the earth.
"You better be okay, Perseus Jackson." Poseidon choked out. Percy looked at him in worry but with a small smile.
"I'll be all right, dad. I'm right here." He assured him "But right now, you need to stop talking. Because it is going to be difficult to breathe." Percy said.
"Don't worry, I got this." Apollo said as he went and sat next to Poseidon, asking him to follow his breathing so that the sea god wouldn't have any further trouble.
"Chapter's done." Hestia said in a soft voice, upset about what was happening to her nephew.
"I'll read, Aunt H." Nico smiled at her warmly and Hestia gave him the book along with a smile of her own.
