The almost full moon began to shine down on my older brother and me as we stood before the half-burnt fossil we once called home.

" Home sweet home I guess, right Derek?" I say as my older brother looked at me. He looked at me with a solace look of annoyance but smirked with a slight chuckle.

" Let's just hope that we can find Laura and book out of this haunted town. That doesn't mean that I'm going to let your studies slip Raven." He said as I hitched my duffel a bit easier on my shoulder. Being the kid sister to Derek Hale wasn't something easily dismissed. I let my eyes glow at him and his green eyes began to glow their cold steel blue color, he let a small growl out.

" Grumpy werewolf is what you are." I said before going on the porch and going inside. The house was run down and smelt of soot. I walked up the stairs and found my old room. I walked in and seeing the burned walls had stood strong through the fire made me sigh. I set my bag down on an old burnt dresser before getting the air mattress blown up. I turned to the doorway to see Derek standing there.

" You start at Beacon Hills High School tomorrow." He said as I huffed.

" Can I just not go?" I asked as he stood stoically.

" You are sixteen, not an adult. No matter your authority." Derek said as I made my eyes glow, seeing them reflect in a slightly broken piece of glass, the red ruby of my status shining back at me. I let them fade back to their forest green shade.

" Fine." I said before shooing him out and shutting the door. I got on the mattress and let sleep envelop me.

The rain fell hard as I ran with her through the alleyways. Poison wafting the air as it wrecked my sensitive nose. My eyes glowed golden yellow in the reflection of the glass panes. My fellow friend wasn't doing so well.

" I can't keep going." She said as I looked at her with a sad shocked expression, begging her to keep running with me.

" Whoever did this could find us!" I exclaimed. She looked at me with eyes that understood what she had to do. I see her open her mouth, but no words escape as the reloading of a gun caught us off guard and a howl escaped somewhere.

" Wake up Lottie!" My brother's voice rang out my nickname as it gave me a start. I looked at my surroundings and remembered.

" Complete dick move Derek!" I called out before getting a grey tank top on, I snagged a pair of worn jeans and my black converses. I got my keys to my black Honda Motorbike Cbh250 and black helmet. I also grabbed my leather jacket and headed downstairs. I see my brother with my bag and a plastic bag that smelt of food.

" Got you a breakfast bagel." Derek tells me as I put my jacket on.

" Thanks, I'll eat it before I go." I said as I smirked. I grabbed the bag, opened it, and wolfed down the content. I looked at him, he had this worried look on his face, what wasn't he telling me?

" Last night, someone was bitten. He looks like a teen. He might be going to your school." Derek told me as I was kind of surprised.

" There's an Alpha here? Was it Laura?" I asked him.

" I don't know." He said as I was more confused.

" Just go to school, please, I'll keep looking." He said before I nodded. I waved him off with my phone in hand. I place it in my bag and get on my bike. I started it up, I did miss New York, but my older sister Laura was here for the cause of the fire that was our home.

" God this is just going to make living here harder the more people know that three Hales came back after six years." I said to myself as I began heading to school. Being a Hale around here was something that would probably stir up trouble. It's not just the fact that I'm a Hale, I'm also a werewolf. Newsflash! The supernatural exists. Most if not almost everybody has no clue we exist. It's the ones that we know that we have to be wary about. All because of fucking hunters. I revved up my bike and before too long, I made it to the school. I took my helmet off and attached it to my bag. Kids headed inside as I sat on a bench. Another girl sat next to me.

" Newbie too?" I asked as she smiled.

" Yeah, San Francisco." She said with dimples highlighting her smile.

" New York, but originally from here, but not for what seems like a long time." I said as she smiled a friendly grin.

" Allison Argent." She replied, an Argent! Here! Wait, maybe she doesn't know. About the hunter's life. I gave her a friendly smile.

" Raven Hale." I said taking my hand out, she grabbed it with friendly intention. My name is Raven Charlotte Hale, I'm 16 years old, I stand at 5 '6", fair skin with some decently long black hair that runs down to my middle back. She didn't seem shocked or anything when hearing my last name so I guess for now I'm in the clear. I hear her phone ringing.

" Mind if I get this?" She asked, I nodded and she picked the call up.

" Mom, three calls on my first day is a little overdoing it. Everything except a pen. Oh, my God, I didn't actually forget a pen." Allison said as she shifted through her bag. I sadly only had one pen.

" Okay, okay. I gotta go. Love ya." She said before hanging up. I see an older man come up to both of us.

" Sorry to keep you both waiting." He said as I stood up. I'll text Derek later about Argent or Argents being in town.

" So you were saying San Francisco isn't where you grew up?" He asked Allison, she shook her head in response.

" No, but we lived there for more than a year, which is unusual in my family." She replied. I smiled as he looked my way.

" And you were in New York, ?" He asked as I nodded. We walked inside the building.

" Well, hopefully, Beacon Hills will be your last stop for a while." He told us.

" After this class, go to the office and grab your schedules." He said before opening the door. I smelt another wolf and hints of blood as I looked at a boy with curly brown hair and a slightly crooked jaw. Found you!

" Class, this is our new students, Allison Argent and Raven Hale. Please do your best to make them feel welcome." The Vice said with a grin. I saw an empty seat next to a boy with the deepest doe brown eyes and a buzzcut. He had an agape mouth, probably due to my last name, but then he smiled. I felt my cheeks burning.

" We'll begin with Kafka's Metamorphosis, on page 133." The teacher said before we opened our passages. The class went by smoothly and not too long after, the bell rang. I got up and the boy with the buzzcut smiled at me. Something about him made my inner wolf howl with excitement. I went to my locker to grab my book for my next class when a strawberry blonde came up to me.

" Those jackets are absolutely killer. Where'd you get them?" She asked. I smelt Allison behind me.

" My mom was a buyer for a boutique back in San Francisco." Allison said as I shut my locker door and leaned on the metal door to hear and watch the conversation.

" I lived in New York with my older brother and sister so I did a little shopping at well-known shops." I said as she smiled at us.

" Aren't you Raven Hale?" She asked as I nodded. She let in a smile.

"And you two are my new best friends." She said with a smile on her face which only lit up more as this tall blonde-haired male came up.

" Hey, Jackson." She said with a grin before kissing him. Ah, boyfriend and girlfriend.

" I'm Lydia Martin, Beacon Hills It girl, but with you back in town, it will be a friendly competition." She said with a smile.

" So, this weekend, there's a party." Lydia said as I perked up. A high school party? Wait, Friday is the full moon! I should be fine. But about the kid with the slightly crooked jaw.

" A party?" Allison asked as I stood a bit more. I saw the boy with the buzz cut looking my way.

" Yeah - Friday night. You should come." Jackson said with a friendly grin.

" Uh, I can't. It's family night this Friday. Thanks for asking." Allison said as I could hear her heartbeat pick up, liar, but not my reason to pressure her into what was so important to not go to a party.

" I have to ask my brother, we just got in town yesterday and he's overprotective." I said as they nodded.

" You sure? Everyone's going after the scrimmage." Jackson said as I was interested.

" You mean like football?" Allison asked him.

" Football's a joke in Beacon. The sport here is lacrosse. We've won the state championship for the past three years." He said as I nodded. Derek, when he was in school, played basketball.

" Because of a certain team captain." Lydia said as she patted Jackson's chest.

" Well, we have practice in a few minutes. That is if you don't have anywhere else." Jackson insisted on us coming to the practice.

" Well, I was going to." Allison was about to finish.

" Perfect - You're coming." Lydia said to us before she took both Allison and my hands and dragged us outside, where it was slightly cold, to a lacrosse field. I smelled the faint scent of blood. I see the crooked-jawed boy in the goalpost. I looked to see the buzz-cut boy in his jersey, number 24.

" Who is that?" Allison asked as she pointed to the boy in goal, the transitioning werewolf.

" Him? I'm not sure who he is." Lydia said before I looked to see him looking our way.

" Why?" Lydia asked as Allison blushed.

" He's in our English class." I said as I saw the referee blow his whistle. The boy in goal winced painfully as I slightly twinned. Yup, he's transitioning and this in fact was the boy who Derek was talking about, great! Babysitting duty is sure to come. Fuck me! I see the boy get hit in the face by the ball and fall, only to get up. Soon he is catching balls. Oh god.

" He seems like he's pretty good." Allison said as I saw the faint line of blush on her cheeks.

" Oh, very good." Lydia said with interest in her voice. I saw Jackson block another player from going next. He was proving a point to this kid. I watched as Jackson gave a hard pass to the kid and as I predicted, he caught it. People cheered and screamed. Practice ended and the day finished up. I got to my locker and put my books away before grabbing my helmet and my bag. I shut the door and there stood the buzz-cut boy.

" Hey." He said with a grin. I gave a friendly smile in return.

" Hello." I replied as I felt a small heat on my face, my heartbeat slightly racing.

" You are Raven Hale?" He asked as I nodded.

" Name's Stiles. Stiles Stilinski." He said as I smiled. So he is an officer's kid. I remember the man with the same last name questioning my brother and sister after the fire.

" Nice to meet you Stiles." I said with an innocent smile. He smelt nice and I felt drawn to him.

" So you know about that party Friday?" He asked as I nodded.

" Yes." I replied as he rubbed the back of his head, I could practically smell the nervousness flowing off of him.

" Think you would like to go with me to it?" He asked as I thought about it for a moment.

" Sure, why not, I have nothing really going on." I said as his eyes lit up.

" Great, that's great, I'll pick you up at 8. Where do you live?" He asked as I blushed. Wait! I'm still at my old burnt home.

" Why don't I have my brother drop me off at your place? I still haven't fully settled back home." I said as I shut my eyes and rubbed my arm.

" That works! Here's my address." He said with a grin that made me heavily blush. He put it on a piece of paper. I smiled and put it in my bag. I saw the boy with the crooked jaw walking towards Stiles.

" Hey, Scott! You won't believe this!" Stiles exclaimed as he walked quickly to his buddy. So the boy's name is Scott. I went outside and got on my bike, plugging the keys in and going home. As I parked my bike next to Derek's car, I saw my brother on the porch.

" So learn anything that will help us?" My brother asked as I took my helmet off.

" Yes I did ya grumpy wolf." I said walking up to the porch. I opened the door and went inside.

" Scott McCall, a 16-year-old boy, plays lacrosse. He's the one who was bitten." I said as I pulled my phone out and showed him a picture.

" Good, anything else?" He asked as I sat down.

" The sheriff's boy asked me out to a party. Friday, a full moon. I think I'm going to go." I said with a grin and my eyes flashed.

" You mean Stilinski? The spaz." He said in a slightly annoyed tone.

" Yes, I have to start being a whole person Derek, not just a werewolf waiting for her head to come off." I said as he nodded.

" You know I'll be watching you." My dearest brother said as I walked to the steps.

" You always do." I said before heading up to my bathroom and removing my clothes. I showered away the grime. I soon dried off. I'm still surprised that the water pressure works here in all places. I dried off and got dressed in some pjs. I went to my room and pulled my mirror out. I made my eyes change. I stared at the reflection that my once green eyes became the ruby red that I had taken to become the Alpha I became only one year ago. I calmed and let my eyes return to their normal state. I then proceeded to let myself go into a deep slumber as if the day had drained me of all energy.

I was in a forest of fog, the mist shifting my focus as my name was being called. I smell blood staining the trees and I see the liquid crimson dripping as I see bodies piled up. I see Laura, bloodied and reaching for me as I see her eyes were dulled. I hear deep growls of anger and vengeance snarling out as a bloody paw of a creature slammed her down. Its ruby eyes were staring at me and a howl of the violent declaration had washed over the night air.

I woke in the morning to songbirds singing in the morning air. I smiled before getting dressed in a black crop top with a red-stained pattern on it and some black leather pants. I got on some knee-high black leather boots. I walked out of my room and went downstairs to see that Derek wasn't there. I shrugged and grabbed my bag. I got to my bike after putting on my helmet and rode to school. I saw that practice for lacrosse was happening. I also saw a frantic Stiles talking to Scott. I took my helmet off and listened closely.

" Scott! Scott, wait up." Stiles exclaimed as I heard his heart racing, I smelt fear and worry off him.

" Stiles, I'm playing the first elimination, man - Can it wait? " Scott asked as he relaxed.

" Just hold on, okay? I overheard my dad on the phone. The fiber analysis came back from the lab in L.A. They found animal hairs on the body from the woods!" Stiles said as his breath wasn't so easily caught by his words.

" Stiles, I gotta go." Scott said as he got up and went to gather with the other players.

" Wait, no! Scott! You're not gonna believe what the animal was! It was a wolf." Stiles said out of breath, wait a wolf? This caught my attention rather quickly. I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. He turned to me and sighed.

" You ok?" I asked as he sighed.

" Yes, as much as I can be." Stiles said as he relaxed, his heart beating rather calmly as I smiled.

" Are you excited about the party?" I asked as he had a line of blush bordering his face, he scratched the back of his head as he smirked.

" Course, I'm glad I can take you to the party." He said as I saw Scott flip over three guys. Stiles looked surprised and shocked.

" That's impossible." He said as I looked curiously.

" He has asthma." Stiles said before sitting down. I sat with him.

" Something's going on with him." I said as he looked at me.

" He should be on the floor if he has asthma." I said as Stiles nodded. My phone goes off. I saw it was a text from Derek.

Where is this party at? D. I sighed. Great, overprotective and watching over my ass.

" So where is this party at?" I asked as Stiles looked at me.

" Oh, here." Stiles said before telling me the address. I put it on my phone.

" I gotta head to class, but before I go. Think I can grab your digits?" Stiles asked as I smirked.

" Of course, being a Hale, I do love a good companion." I say with a grin. I give them to him and he sends a quick text to me. I label him as he is. Stiles. I waved him off and went to class. My first is art. I loved to paint. I've been taught by an old friend when Derek, Laura, and I lived in New York. Hopefully, Derek finds Laura and we figure out what the hell we are even doing back. Laura left quickly, only giving Derek a word and none towards me. I began to sketch out what came to mind as our project was on landscape. I sketched the Preserve to the best of my knowledge. It wasn't long before the bell rang. I put my sketch away and went to class. Everything bled and blended together before the end of the day caught up to me and I found myself soon walking out of the school. My phone goes off with a text from Stiles.

See you at 8 :). Stiles.

" Mmm." I said with a grin. I couldn't help but smile, those brown eyes. I felt my heart skip a beat, my inner wolf stirring awake. What could this mean? I calmed as I got to my bike and put my helmet on and rode home. I got off my bike after a moment, all I could think about was my family. My anchor to keep in control, sure Derek had anger; I had the family that was burned away. I remember Mother's laugh, Father's smell of cloves, the cheers of my siblings, and mostly Uncle Peter's coy attitude. I'll see him soon. I walked inside and saw Derek at the table looking over notes. I sat down.

" Party's at 8:30, Stiles is expecting me at 8." I said as he looked up at me.

" Will you tell me?" I asked as he looked down and then back at me. He was hiding something.

" After the party. I have to see what the McCall boy will do." He said as I got up. I went upstairs and showered. I put on some makeup, a lush red lipstick with a smokey party-eyed look. I grabbed a black crop top and a black women's mesh splice skirt with a pair of heels. I snagged my leather jacket and put on some diamond earrings I had. I felt good and went downstairs. I see Derek is ready to take me to Stiles' place.

" Remember this is recon." Derek said as I flashed my eyes.

" Let me be a teenager." I said as he smirked.

" Just don't be stupid." He said as I walked out the door.

" When have I ever?" I asked before heading to the Camaro. I got in the passenger seat. Derek got in the driver seat and took me to Stiles'. As we arrived, I sighed.

" I'll be close." Derek said as I got out of the car.

" I'm in control, not some newbie wolf going on some fucked up blood bath." I said as Derek snickered.

" Swear you got your bad mouth from Dad." He said as I smirked.

" But of course." I said before shutting the door. Derek then speeds off. I smiled as I saw Stiles in his tie and purple shirt.

" Wow! You look." He said as I walked up to him.

" Hot?" I asked as he smirked, the signature blush again bordering his face.

" Yeah." He said with a smile. I smiled back.

" Shall we?" He asked as I smiled. I walked to his car and he got me inside. He drove us to this large house. I smiled as I see the moon peaking. The power of the moon empowered me, but its pull was so little that I have no trouble. Stiles let me out of the car. We go through the house and into the backyard. People danced to the music. Stiles leads me as I feel people's stares upon us. I see Scott walking in with Allison. I smelt my brother's scent. I see him and waved.

" Who are you waving to?" Stiles asked before looking where I had.

" Thought I saw someone." I said as the music was loud. Stiles smiled and took my hand.

" Dance with me." He said as I smirked, my inner wolf stirring up yet in complete control. The way we moved felt so familiar like a dance I'd dreamed of. I felt his hands on my sides, it felt powerful and like electricity. I felt his hand go to my face. His eyes drifted from my lips to my eyes. I almost wanted to. However, things went downhill right then and there.

" Scott?" Stiles' voice pulled me out of this trance. I snapped back to reality as he took my hand. We see Scott leaving the house.

" Is he ok?" I asked as he looked at me.

" I don't know." Stiles said before looking at me. I see my brother talking to Allison, he looked towards me before taking the Argent girl to the Camaro and going away.

" Was that your brother taking Allison?" He asked me.

" Maybe taking her home?" I asked as Stiles took my hand.

" Where are we going?" I asked Stiles as we got to his car.

" Checking on my friend." He said as I nodded. If Stiles got hurt because of Scott, I would blow it right then and there. Stiles drove slightly erratically, but I wasn't worried. We soon got to this two-story house.

" Wait right here." He said as I nodded. I waited in the car as I received a text from my brother.

The girl is safe at home. Don't get caught, hunters are out tonight. D.

Great! I soon smelt Scott's scent, it had anger and worry in it as I saw a person land on the ground. Scott! Fully transformed! I see him run into the woods and then Stiles running out of the house. He gets in the car.

" Fan fucking tastic." I said as I sighed.

" What do you mean?" Stiles asked as I looked over at him.

" Seems your friend is a werewolf." I said as Stiles got back into drive.

" Wait! How do you know?" He asked as I looked over at him.

" What did Scott tell you up there before he jumped off the roof?" I asked as he turned down the road.

" That Derek is the werewolf that bit him." He replied.

" Wait what!" I said as he looked at me. I huffed and I felt my fangs come out as I lost the slightest bit of control, but my eyes remained human. I see Stiles' looking over at me.

" Wait, you are one!" He screamed at me. I calmed down and let myself change back.

" Look Stiles, I'll explain later, but right now we have to make sure Scott doesn't kill anyone. It's his first full moon!" I said as he focused back. We got to this big house in a cul de sac.

" Wait here." He said before running out of the car. I see him talking to someone before rushing back to the car.

" Allison is safe. Then where the hell is Scott?" Stiles asked as I patted his back. I got a text from my brother.

Found Scott, near the preserve. Get home now. D.

" Scott is near the Preserve." I said as Stiles calmed down.

" But, I'll explain more, but right now, go comfort Scott." I told him before he got me to the Preserve entrance. I waved him off and I went home. I got back to the house. Derek looked distraught.

" What happened?" I asked him with eyes glowing.

" Argents are in town." He said as I could tell from his chemo signals that something else was up.

" What else is new?" I said in a low tone. The next sentence that came from his mouth made my heart stop.

" Laura has been killed." He said as he looked up at me. I began shaking. I felt myself shift as I felt hot steamy tears going down my cheeks. I howled out in agony as it sounded like pain and suffering. I felt like I lost a part of myself. I collapsed as I changed back. My older brother brought me into a hug.

" Shh, I got you." Derek said as I sobbed loudly. It felt like my heart was repeatedly getting ripped out as I cried out for my lost sister. He carried me to my room and laid me down. I cried for what felt like years as I slowly came to terms with my sister's death. I didn't realize I fell asleep and I didn't dream at all. I woke up to a text from Stiles.

Did you get home safe? Stiles.

I sighed from under the blanket.

Yeah, just dealing with some news. RH.

I saw those little dots as I waited for a reply. He makes me calm and easy. I sat up and wiped away the fallen tears.

Hopefully, you'll be ok. I hope we can talk more about the situation that has happened to my best friend. SS.

He was using the initial things that Derek and I use during texts. I felt a slight blush on my face. it felt lighthearted.

Of course. RH.

The weekend was nothing but slightly moping around my room, Derek checking on me and making sure I was alive. Monday morning, I woke up and showered. I have to focus on finding Laura's killer. I have to be the easy-going Hale, put on a brave face. I went to school and parked my bike next to Stiles' jeep. I cried all I could this weekend.

" You ok? I haven't heard from you since Saturday morning." Stiles said as I took my helmet off.

" Yeah. Just settling back into Beacon Hills. " I said as a slight blush appeared on my cheek. He made my heart skip a beat and the blush on my cheek just felt hotter. He smiled that signature grin.

" Would you come to my morning practice?" He asked as I smiled.

" Yeah, I would." I said with a grin as we walked into the school together side by side. What I didn't know was the events that would follow after that weekend would change everything.
