It was a new year at PCA and that meant only one thing, move-in day. Zoey had just said goodbye to her parents before she and her brother were dragging their stuff across campus and into their new dorms. It seemed like with every new year they had more and more bags to bring with them. Grinning at the clean whiteboard that showed the 101 room number on it, she opened up the door to take in the sight of her new room. It was the same layout as the previous years but some of the perks of being a grade up is that the dorms get bigger and bigger.
The bed frames were much bigger, making even the bunk beds look huge. They had a little kitchenette in their room, with a sink and microwave built into the wall above. The closet was so much bigger, meaning she and Lola would not have to fight about their outfits getting mixed up or not hung up.
She and her friends were in their final year of PCA and it seemed like the school treated the upper students with the best necessities. Dropping her bags on the only single bed in the room, she sat down on the mattress and took a moment to catch her breath. Just before summer break the girls had all talked and agreed Zoey would get the single bed again and Lola would get the top bunk and Quinn would have the bottom. Lola was really enjoying having the top bunk to herself, always taking pictures of herself on it and sending them to her sister to flaunt it.
She smiled, thinking about her two best friends and already wishing they would hurry up. She wanted to hear about their summer.

"Zoey!"

Ask and you shall receive as they say because Lola instantly walked through the door. Dumping her bags all over the floor the two girls ran at each other to embrace, screaming in joy at seeing one another.

"How are you?" Lola asked, jumping about as they let go of each other. "How was your summer in Hawaii with Chase?" She winked, giving her friend a playful nudge.
Rolling her eyes in a playful manner Zoey nudged her right back. "Hawaii was great. It was such an amazing time just being there with Chase. He loved it too, even when he got totally sunburned and stung by jellyfish it was such a special time." What she was saying didn't sound all that pleasant, in fact, it sounded terrible but by the smile on her face, she considered it all to be a magical time.

Lola merely shook her head. "That boy has the worst luck when it comes to most things in life." There was no argument there. Chase was the nicest guy around, but he was usually always getting hurt in some bizarre way. "Oh well, come help me put my new mattress on my bed." She motioned to the piece of furniture that was leaning against the metal platform.
Laughing at her friend's behavior Zoey did just that. "You know, you don't have to get a new mattress every new school year."
"Ew, using the same mattress after a full year of sleeping on it. Sounds gross." Lola shuddered, the thought sounding almost as bad as repeating outfits within a one-month time span. Grabbing one of the edges of the mattress she moved to get ready to lift it when she noticed something. "So, where's Quinn?"
Zoey shrugged, rolling up the sleeves of her hoodie. "Not sure, I don't think she's here yet."
"You sure about that?" Lola pointed at the bottom bunk where a neatly made bed was already there, mattress, sheets, pillows, stuffed animals, and all. "Cause it looks like she beat us here."
"That's weird," looking around, the blonde girl finally took notice that the bed was in fact made and a few of her items were already set up and put away. The only things that weren't set up and already put away were her science stuff. "I didn't see her when I came in."
"Maybe she's in the cafeteria or saying goodbye to her parents," Lola suggested, not really sure and not really caring. Their friend was already set up but she wanted to focus on her bed so she could easily fall asleep in it tonight without any issues.
With some grunts and a few bumps, the two girls were somewhat managing to throw the new and much heavier mattress on the bed. "Did you really have to buy such a heavy one?" Zoey grunted, using both her hands and even her head to keep the furniture from falling.
"I couldn't help it. The salesperson said this would be the best one for my back. I can't act if I have a bad back." Lola replied, whimpering at the heavy piece of furniture that she was slowly starting to get frustrated with.

Without either of them noticing it the door to their room opened and in walked Quinn and her boyfriend Logan. She was bringing in her backpack while he had one of her duffle bags and her suitcase. Smiling at one another she motioned for her boyfriend to help the two struggling girls. Soundlessly dropping the bags on the ground, he took three steps towards them and with an effortless motion threw the mattress onto the bed. "Need some help there girls?" he teased, flexing his muscles for them.
Looking at the boy in confusion for a moment it quickly melted into excitement when they realized that the glass-wearing girl was with him in the room too. Running over with cheers the three best friends embraced. "Quinn!" they hugged each other tight, each of them talking at once, commenting about every little thing.
"Sure, no need to thank me," Logan muttered, going over to bring his girlfriend's duffle bag and placing it on her bed. He smiled when he saw how excited Quinn was. Seeing her look so happy made up for the two girls not acknowledging his strength.

"It's so good to see you guys again," Quinn stepped out of the hug, all but jumping in her spot as the three best friends reunited. "I missed you both so much." Talking every day on the phone and messaging each other just doesn't make up for being together in person.
"We missed you too!" Zoey smiled, happy that they were all here to have another awesome year.
Lola nodded, the smile never leaving her face. "Yeah, but you should have told us that you were getting here so early. We would have gotten here sooner so we could all hang out."
"What are you talking about?" Quinn dropped her backpack carefully onto the ground by her feet. She had a few unfinished experiments in her bag that needed to be handled with special care. "Logan and I just arrived less than five minutes ago."
Zoey and Lola gave each other a confused look before stepping aside to point to the already-made bed. "Then why is all your stuff here and put away?" the blonde asked, gesturing to more of their room that already had her stuff in it.
Just as confused as her two friends, it didn't take long for Quinn to realize what had happened. "Logan," looking at her grinning boyfriend she moved to stand in front of him, her arms crossed in a teasing matter. "What did you do?"
With a light shrug of his shoulder he reached over to open the mini fridge in the room, already stocked full of Blix drinks and other snacks that he knew were her favorite. "Not much. Just hired a moving company to bring all your stuff from home into your dorm and had an interior designer set everything up." He looked around, checking out the made bed, artwork set up, clothes all neatly put away or hanging up in the closet. The science stuff he said to leave alone because he knew that only she would know exactly how to set it all up without exploding. Besides, he knows how much she loves to set up her own lab and he wouldn't take that away from her.
Her lower lip popped out as her heart skipped a beat at how sweet he was. "Aww baby." She embraced him, throwing her arms around him and kissing him to show her gratitude.

Zoey and Lola rolled their eyes at the PDA. While they had come to accept their two friends who originally hated each other's guts now love said guts they still hadn't grown used to them being all lovey-dovey whenever they were together. Just because they accepted it and were happy for their friends didn't mean they wanted to see it.

"Won't your daddy just cut you off again for spending so much money?" Lola teased him, picking up her own bags and bringing them over to the closet. She had a lot of clothes she needed to organize and put away before classes started.
"Actually, the interior designer was his idea," he told the girls, one arm wrapped around his girlfriend as he drank the orange beverage in his other hand. "He even paid for it."
Zoey found that hard to believe. "Seriously?"
"Yeah," Logan grinned, taking a quick sip of the drink that everyone on campus has easily become addicted to. "When he saw I hired a moving company to bring in mine and Quinn's stuff here he sprang for the interior designer to set up both our rooms. Said he wanted us to have more time together before we started focusing on school."
If possible, Quinn felt herself falling more in love with her boyfriend. "Really?" she looked up at him, her cheeks a light shade of pink at the sweet gesture she just learned about. "That was so sweet of your dad. I need to go call him now and thank him." With another quick kiss, she grabbed her phone out of her bag and left the room to make her call.

With her now gone it was just the three of them in the room and the two remaining girls were flabbergasted by what they just learned. Not only had Logan done an incredibly nice gesture for someone else but even his dad, who usually stopped his over-the-top behavior when it got too much, played a hand in it.

"What's your problem?" Logan scoffed, falling onto the made bed of his girlfriend and getting himself comfy. He grinned, the fluffy pillows were just as he ordered them, firm but still very soft and great for snuggling. He reached up to fiddle with some of the bins on the wall containing her stuff and even a few of his trinkets. He made sure the designer put a bottle of his cologne in the room with her. After she complimented on it, he always had a bottle on him, making sure he smelled just the way Quinn liked him. Spraying a bit of it on himself and the pillow, he snuggled down more into the bed.
Lola gave him an annoyed look. "Since when does your dad go along with your crazy ideas?" She was not pleased that he was acting as if he lived in the room. She recognized that a few things in here were actually some of his stuff.
"Yeah, I thought he said he would cut you off if you spent money on trivial things." Zoey was right there with her, already knowing that with his stuff in their room, he was going to act like he owned the place.
"He did, but that was before Quinn and I got together," he scoffed again, not seeing what the big deal was. Glancing over he saw both girls standing together, arms crossed and looking at him. Sighing to himself he sat up, arms resting on his knees. "Back when we were hiding our relationship our parents were the only ones who knew about us. At first, my dad didn't really care too much but after he got to know Quinn and she helped me get my grades up and helped me become more "mature" the two of them really bonded. He likes Quinn a lot," he gave air quotes at the word mature, still not really understanding what his father was talking about when he told Logan that. He was glad that his dad approved of his girlfriend and really liked her, but he still didn't get what he meant by Quinn having such a positive effect on him. He was still the same awesome guy he's always been. "Last year I didn't even reach half of my credit card limit and my grades went up a lot. My dad was so impressed he gave me a raise in my allowance." He flashed them his brand-new black card, its slick plastic design glimmering in the lights of the dorm room. A smirk formed on his face when he saw their jaws drop. "He said he doesn't care what I buy or what I do if I'm doing it for Quinn."

"So, because you two are dating now your dad gave you more money and is even telling you to spend said money all because he likes your girlfriend?!" Zoey almost didn't believe any of this was happening because it sounded too crazy to her. Logan did not need to have an increase in his allowance to buy more stupid stuff for him to flaunt.
Lola didn't know if she wanted to scream or groan, so she settled for doing both. "Don't think just because your daddy is going to let you get away with acting all Logan means we will," she pointed a freshly manicured nail in his direction. Doing her best to appear threatening to make the boy see she was very serious. "I don't care if you are Quinn's boyfriend. You can't just come into our room and act like you own the place."

Not appreciating her tone or how they were looking at him, Logan stood up from the bed to stare them both in the eyes on equal ground. "And what are you going to do about it? Tell Quinn that you don't like me being here, her boyfriend who she loves very much? That doesn't sound like something best friends do." He crossed his arms, feeling very smug and confident.
Zoey glared, crossing her own arms at him. "Would you relax? We're not gonna say anything bad about you too Quinn."
"Much," Lola added.
"We just don't want you acting like you own the place when this is our room too." Zoey was glad that her friend had found a guy who really appreciates her so much but sometimes she really wished it wasn't Logan. His attitude was something they weren't sure they could ever get used to. "All we're asking for is some boundaries."
Realizing they weren't looking for a fight Logan took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly, lowering his defenses. They may be out now as a couple and their friends accept them now, but he was still ready to fight anyone who tried to mess with their relationship. "For Quinn's sake, I'll lower my awesomeness to like 90% since it bothers you guys so much but that's as low as I can go. This much cool and swagger doesn't disappear easily." He gestured to him, grinning at the offer that he thought was very well thought out. He was such a great boyfriend.

"Fine."
"Deal."

Sighing in exasperation the two girls went back to work of unpacking and setting up their dorm. They knew Logan and knew that was the best they could get out of him. After he left, which they hoped would be soon, they could talk to Quinn about keeping her boyfriend's attitude to a bare minimum. Even they had to admit he was a much better human being after getting together with their friend. They didn't fantasize about shaving his head in retaliation every day now so that proved he was growing up, just like his father said he was. They would just need to set a few ground rules that they wanted him to follow if he was planning on being in here so much.

"Good," Pleased with himself, he set the half-empty bottle of Blix on the mini fridge and grabbed the suitcase he had brought in. They were a few personal items that Quinn had on her when she was visiting him that hadn't come with the movers. "And if you guys are still bothered by it then I'll just talk with Quinn again about getting her own room."

Lola dropped half her clothes back into her suitcase and Zoey fell forward on her bed, what he said caught her off guard when she was putting her sheets on and she couldn't concentrate enough to keep her balance. "Excuse me?!" the blonde all but cried out.
"You tried getting Quinn to move out?" Lola didn't hold back on her tone and yelled.
Rolling his eyes at their overreaction he turned around, hands up in a mock surrender of defeat. "Relax, I wasn't telling her to move out. I just suggested that she apply to get her own room while still marking down that she was your roommate. This way whenever we want some privacy from you guys, we'll have our own place to go and make out in." he sighed, a little sad that his girlfriend had turned down his idea when he first suggested it to her.
Grabbing onto her friend and roommate's arm Lola covered her mouth with one hand and started to gag. "I think I'm going to be sick." Zoey didn't say it, but she felt sick to her stomach too.

"Baby, you won't believe –" Quinn came rushing back into the room, a huge grin lighting up her face but stopped midsentence when she saw the state of her two roommates. "What's wrong?" she put her phone back into her pocket, brown eyes looking at each of the three teenagers in the room.
Logan was the first to react, crossing the room to get to her, throwing an arm around her shoulders to hold her close to him. "Sorry sweetie, that's my fault. I told them about my make-out room plan, and I think I freaked them out." He kissed the side of her head.
Nodding in understanding she returned the hug, wrapping one of her own arms around his broad back. "Guys don't worry. I'm not going to leave and stop being your roommate. I love you both too much to go."
"Yeah, but you love me more, right?" he teased her, bending down to nuzzle his nose against hers.
"You know I do," Smiling at his cute behavior she gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "But we don't have time for silly games, your dad just told me that he made us a reservation at Vacarro," after she had called his father to thank him and the two talked briefly, he told her that he went ahead and planned this treat for them before school started and they didn't have the time to go out to eat every night. Sniffing him briefly, she stuck her nose in the crock of his neck before pulling back and grinning. "You smell really good."
He grinned, shrugging playfully, knowing exactly what she was talking about and pleased that his plan had worked. He did make sure before starting this school year to buy a supply of this stuff so he could always hear her compliment him on his scent. "Come on, let's go."
"We'll see you guys later." Quinn waved goodbye to her two friends that were still standing stiff in the middle of the room. She would bring them back a delicious treat to make them feel better.

Moments passed after the couple left but the two were still frozen in their spot.
"Zoey," the aspiring actress weakly called out to her friend. "Did that really just happen?"
"Uh-huh," the blonde was at a loss for words.
"And it's going to keep happening every day because he's going to be in here every day, isn't he?" Lola had to fight down the gag that wanted to come out.
"Uh-huh," Zoey really didn't know what else to say.

On one hand, they were so happy for their best friend and roommate. Quinn was a special girl, very special, and she deserved a guy who recognized that. Mark hadn't been the guy for her. While he had treated her right, somewhat, and was kind, he didn't understand just how special she was and that was part of the problem. Logan recognized her quirks, accepted them, and seemed to love her for just being herself. After they realized he wasn't messing with their friend or just trying to use her, they accepted him as her boyfriend and did agree that he was much better than Mark.
But he was still Logan Reese, the same spoiled, stuck-up, and self-centered guy that they had a love-hate relationship since they first met him. He has grown up a lot since they met him but having to put up with his attitude all the time, even in the space of their own room was not something they were looking forward to.
Groaning in unison they collapsed back onto Zoey's unmade bed.
