New fic time! (...Yeah yeah, I know I have other fics in progress, but honestly speaking ...I hit blocks on them (I WILL get back to my other stories soon...I just need to get my ideas for them in order and in line...promise).) So, instead of staying stuck with those, I decided to start working on this.
Pokémon and pro wrestling. I've had ideas bouncing around in my head for some time now to write another crossover fic of these two worlds, and I feel pretty good about what I have store for it. Just what do I have in store for my next crossover? Read on to find out, my dolls. And get ready for some holly jolly holiday spirit. =)
(Disclaimer: I own none of the wrestlers used in and mentioned in this story. They are the property of themselves, the WWE, and the promotions they wrestle for. I should also mention that I obviously do not own Pokemon in any way, shape, or form. That is the property of series creator Satoshi Tajiri and Nintendo. I only own the ideas that went into this two-shot. Now that this author's note is done, hope you guys enjoy. =) )
An almost sad sigh escaping her, April Mendez, known better to most people by her pro wrestling in ring name AJ Lee, walked down the almost crowded sidewalk as she looked at the sights around her. Stores were decorated for the holiday season, complete with lights, wreaths, and other such decorations. Streetlights were adorned with winding garlands, complete with bows….
…And there were many Pokémon in the city, many traveling along with many who AJ guessed were their Trainers that were out and about this December evening.
'Some people have all of the luck. They get to enjoy this time out with their Pokémon while I ...I'm still waiting for the day I'll finally catch my first,' the brunette thought.
Shaking away this slight downer of a thought, AJ went about attending to the main reason she was out and about this chilly Monday evening. And that reason was to so some grocery shopping. 'I'm running low on bread. And I'm going to need flour, milk, and eggs. And…. ...What else am I going to need?' the brunette thought over her mental grocery list as she continued on her walk to the grocery store. Having reached the store, she headed inside after grabbing a cart from outside. Once inside, she went about filling her cart with what she needed to at least carry her through the next three days-'I'll be taking off again soon anyway for our next show, so no need to go too crazy with buying food,' she thought. Feeling satisfied with what she got-her groceries being bread, flour, milk, eggs, some snacks, apples, bananas, and oranges-the brunette got in line and paid for her groceries. Leaving the store with her bags, AJ began her walk back to her apartment. 'Kaitlyn should be still be awake right now. I just hope Bulby won't tackle me when she sees my bags.'
Finally reaching her apartment after her many run-ins with fans-'You'd think I'd be used to all of this attention I get from fans. I guess not,' the brunette thought with a laugh-AJ fished her key out of her pocket before unlocking the door-
-"Bulby, no! Stop! Come back!" a voice could be heard yelling along with the sounds of quickly approaching footsteps.
AJ could only stay in place as one of the Pokémon belonging to one of her best friends stopped a bit in front of her. A laugh escaping her, AJ said "Thanks, Bulby. I'm glad to be back home."
"Sa! Bulbasaur!" the Pokémon nicknamed Bulby, a Bulbasaur, exclaimed.
Finally making her way to the front door, AJ's roommate and one of her best friends, Celeste Bonin, better known by her pro wrestling ring name Kaitlyn, first reached down and petted the bulb that grew out of Bulby's back before taking a couple of the bags AJ had. "So, it looks like grocery shopping went well."
"Yep. Surprisingly, there weren't many people out shopping tonight. Guess they just wanted to enjoy the December night."
"Could be," Kaitlyn shrugged. "Now, come on. Let's put the food away and try to figure out what we're gonna have for dinner tonight."
"Sa!" Bulbasaur exclaimed before taking off in the direction of the kitchen, getting laughs from the women.
"Bulby's so excited for dinner. Guess I'll cut her up a couple of these apples," Kaitlyn said before she followed after her Bulbasaur.
"OK," AJ said as she watched the other woman walk away. A sigh escaping her, the brunette found herself left with a sudden swell of jealousy. She would always consider Kaitlyn to be one of her best and closest friends. ...But, if she could be totally honest with herself, ...she hated that the two-toned woman was lucky enough to have a Pokémon team of her own. 'Why? Why does it seem like everyone around me has Pokémon of their own? It's not fair. It's just not fair,' the brunette thought as she made her way to the kitchen, where she could see Kaitlyn putting some apple slices into Bulby's food bowl. 'Oh well. Maybe someday, I'll finally have a Pokémon of my own. I wish, at least,' the brunette thought a bit hopefully before she set the bags on the kitchen island and then began to help her roommate out with their dinner for the evening.
Well, it looks like poor AJ is faced with a problem some people would not want to have in a world like the one she's in. Not having a Pokémon must be something that feels pretty bad. Maybe things in the Pokémon department will get better for her. But, when? When?! That question shall be answered in the coming chapters. Until then, don't forget to R&R please to let me know what y'all think of it. =)
