As Tegan denies the Mara deal, she goes into a downward spiral, she doesn't answer any calls. Everyone is growing more worried about her by the minute. "Nyssa wherever you are I promise I will find you." She says on a brisk morning just as her door opens. "Nyssa," she turns around to find the wrong younger woman. "Oh, it's just you Ace."
"Yes, it's me. Your friend, who is worried about you," replies the brunette.
"Well, when a monster that took control of you not once but twice comes back and tries to use your best friend."
"You mean the love of your life."
"I was married twice."
"Both ended in divorce. All of us know you still love Nyssa." Ace sits next to her older friend. "Tegan tell me what all happened. We have many people that can help you find her. Why didn't you call me when this happened?"
"You were busy with Graham."
"You are my best friend, basically my sister and Graham is my," Ace realizes that she still has her ring on.
"Fiancé." Tegan spies the ring, "the night Graham told me he was planning to pop the question was when this happened. You got the love of your life; I got a tease of mine. It felt so real seeing her again, holding her in my arms. Seeing the TARDIS."
"I take it this seeing this TARDIS dream was different from the others?"
"So much different and felt much more real."
"You are coming back to England with me and staying in the spare bedroom. The two of us are going to talk to Kate about getting some help. Maybe see if she can get into contact with Mel on UNIT Moonbase."
"Ace."
"Nope, I will not take no for an answer," Ace gets up and heads to Tegan's bedroom and grabs a bag from the closet and starts packing it.
"I am fine."
Ace turns around, "you are not fine Tegan. You locked yourself away from everyone for two months. I need my maid of honor and she needs her love."
"Your what?"
"Are you being an idiot, who else would it be? I expect to be your matron of honor once we find her and you two get married."
"Ace there is no guarantee that we can find her." Tegan sits on her bed.
"Look at all we have to help you. We have K9 too."
"You don't use him too much."
"I know, but this is serious, we will get your girlfriend back." Ace goes to Tegan's dresser Tegan's eyes go wide as Ace riffles through them until she has enough undergarments for months.
"She isn't my girlfriend."
"She may not be physically, but she is mentally."
"How long do you think this is going to take?"
"Hopefully not long. You deserve your happy ever after."
"Ace, neither of us are a princess. Well, Nyssa is technically one before the Master destroyed her planet and took her father's face. I am sure that is the Master you met way back when."
"Well, we have met another one that we have. Now come on, help me pack."
"Ace, I will be fine here."
"In a different country, below the equator away from everyone that cares for you. We are done having this conversation. You are coming with me." Ace turns back to finish packing. "If you won't help me, you know you won't like I pick out."
"Ace please."
"No, you need friends right now. I know if I was in the same place, you would be forcing me to stay with you. Now come." Ace zips up the bag.
"I don't have a ticket or know where my passport is."
"I found it while packing your bag," Ace tosses it to her. "I can get an extra ticket easily."
"Ace."
"Come on," Ace walks out of the bedroom and picks Tegan's keys off the table. "Tegan Jovanka, you know I can make you come out." Tegan gets up and takes the keys from Ace and exits the house. "I will call Graham before we board." Tegan rolls her eyes.
Ace leaves Tegan for a moment. She goes to the bathroom, "hello again. You see I have people on my side. You will not defeat me. I will eventually get my Nyssa back." She walks away from the mirror and the Mara shows up. "Are you done talking to him?"
"I am, he sends his love." They board the plane, sitting next to each other. "Tegan, can I ask you something?"
"You're actually asking me something today? Not demanding."
"Back there is because I care about you."
"Fine, ask your question." Tegan is not too happy.
"Why didn't you call me when everything happened or even your son?"
"How did you know about that?"
"He called me, I thought you were just spending time with him, but when he called me I cleared my schedule; kissed Graham goodbye and took a flight over here."
"You didn't have to do that."
"That's where you are wrong. My best friend was in need and avoiding all of us. I came here to find out that her long lost love is still alive, and she thought she not only saw her again, but held her in her arms."
"I just don't." Ace faces her quickly.
"Just stop that thought right there. You deserve all the happiness in the world."
"You are one of the few that think that."
"I am not. You have a large family. Many have been asking me where you have been."
"I have been in my house."
"Don't forget to avoid all of us."
"I needed to process it."
"Well, now you can process it while being around friends and being spoiled with food."
"Graham?"
"Yes, and he can help you; you know. He did lose Grace."
"It's different he still got a life with her, then found you."
"Well, let everyone help you, then you and Nyssa can spend the rest of your lives together."
"Ace, before we head to your place can we go to the pub. I want to get sloshed before I see two people madly in love."
"Of course." Ace smiles at her friend, knowing to send Graham a text that they will be home later.
