Hello, everyone, and welcome to the fourth main story, and my fifth story overall! This story will also be concurrent with Hoenn Nuzlocke: The Gemstone in the Rough. Any side chapters will be in the Nuzlocke story. As with the other main stories, there will be a Hall of Fame for those who write at least three reviews either in the chapters or through PMs. Without further ado, enjoy the prologue for Hoenn: A Trio of Fates! :)

Prologue

After another week of study, Trinity Miller, the girl dressed in black, climbed the large yellow walls in Meteor Falls.

"Ugh!" the twenty-year old groaned. "I still don't know why they decided to make their home at the tallest part of the cave!"

"You can do it, Trin!" her Togepi, Loki, cheered.

The woman rolled her eyes. If only my Arcanine knew how to climb rocks…

Once they made it to the top, two muscular men wearing white shirts with long red robes hemmed with black approached her.

"Halt!" the one on the left shouted. "This area is off-limits to outsiders!"

Trinity brushed the dust off her pants. "Sorry to intrude, but my friend invited me here."

"Friend?" the man on the right questioned. "Who is this 'friend' of yours?"

A woman about the same age as Trinity peered out of a large opening. Once she saw who the guards were questioning, she ran over, her long, light purple hair flowing behind her. Unlike her compatriots, she wore a large, beige cape with black scales along the neckline. A long blue band spiraled around her left arm, and a small blue orb was nestled at the end of the topmost spiral.

"Don't worry. I was the one who invited her here."

"Lorekeeper Aster!" The men bowed, allowing Trinity to approach her long-time friend.

"Trin!" the female Draconid greeted. "It's so good to see you again!"

"As am I," Trinity said with a grin. "How's the Lorekeeper role treating you?"

"The year went by so fast! It's been a busy but rewarding role. Anyway, what brings you here?"

She sighed. "It's about my target."

Aster's smile slightly faded. "Oh, right. You came earlier than I thought. Please, come in. I'll get us some refreshments."

Trinity followed her friend through the hole, revealing the community of the ancient Draconid tribe. The members were either doing household chores or training with their chosen Dragon type or Dragon-based Pokémon, like Bagon, Swablu, and Dratini. Although she'd seen this before, Trinity was still amazed at the strong bonds between the people and their Pokémon.

Aster led her to a reed mat placed on the ground and a whistling black kettle over a small fire. Once Trinity sat down, the Lorekeeper picked up the hot container and poured the two some green tea.

As the guest sipped the strong yet tasty liquid, Aster picked up some rolled up pieces of paper next to her. "I combed through our archives and found these scrolls. They do mention the ancient family who created the Legendary Golems, but their descendants were never documented."

Trinity picked up the nearest parchment and read its ancient contents. "I'm not surprised; the three siblings split off after their creations were sealed away and formed their own lineages that no longer reside in Hoenn."

"Then what are you hoping to find?"

The black-clad woman looked at her friend. "A connection."
