Welcome to Kalos

Somewhere in the Kalos Region in a city called Lumiose City, a plane was landing on a runway at the Kalos International Airport. Once it does and comes to a complete stop, an airport employee was moving passenger stairs over to the plane and places it in front of a door of the airplane. The door opens up and passengers started exiting the plane. The last three passengers to step out were Kevin, Jonny with Plank, and Rolf.

"We're here, Plank!" said Jonny. He then looks up at the sky. "Whoa. Look up there, guys!" He points up at a flock of brown, birdlike Pokemon (Pidgey) flying overhead. Kevin and Rolf also look up at them.

"Are those Pokemon?" asked Rolf.

"Maybe. Ed's Staraptor and Double-D's Noctowl looked like birds; so those could be Pokemon." said Kevin.

"So where are we supposed to go?" asked Jonny. Just then, they hear a voice calling out.

"Kevin! Rolf! Jonny!" said the voice. They look around and soon see Professor Sycamore walking up to them.

"Hi, Professor Sycamore." said Jonny.

"Hello." said Professor Sycamore. "Welcome to the Kalos Region."

"Thanks, dude." said Kevin.

"If you would all come with me; I'll take you to my research lab." said Professor Sycamore. They all walk towards a jeep that was parked near the runway and climb into it. They soon start moving down a city street. Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny look around in amazement at how large the city they're in right now is.

"What city is this?" asked Kevin.

"This is Lumiose City; the largest city in the Kalos Region." said Professor Sycamore. When they stopped at a red light, they look around for a bit before seeing a souvenir stand. To their surprise, they see posters with the Eds and their fully evolved starters on them and Ed, Edd, and Eddy statuettes and action figures in it.

"What's with all that Ed, Edd, and Eddy stuff?" asked Jonny. Professor Sycamore looks at the souvenir stand and smiles.

"That souvenir stand sells stuff from other regions. As you can probably tell, it's selling stuff from the Sinnoh Region." said Professor Sycamore.

"Are the Ed boys really that popular in the Sinnoh Region?" asked Rolf.

"Yes, they are." replied Professor Sycamore. "They left quite the impression on the people there."

'I can't believe how popular the dorks are.' Kevin thought to himself with a look of astonishment. Professor Sycamore notices the look on his face.

"Are you okay, Kevin?" asked Professor Sycamore. Kevin shakes himself out of his stupor.

"Yeah. Just can't believe how popular those Eds have become in over a month." said Kevin.

"It is quite amazing." said Professor Sycamore. "You three have a lot to work towards."

"Do you think we can become that famous?" asked Jonny.

"If you become strong enough trainers and impress everyone here enough, then you might be able to become just as famous as the Eds are." said Professor Sycamore.

"That's just more reason for us to work as hard as we can to become strong Pokemon trainers." said Kevin.

"That's the spirit." said Professor Sycamore. The light soon turns green, and they continue on their way. They soon come up to a large building. "Well boys, here we are."

"This is your lab?" asked Kevin.

"Yes, it is." replied Professor Sycamore. After parking the jeep, Professor Sycamore, along with Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf climb out of it. They walk to the front door and enter it. Once inside, Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf looked around. The front room had several bookshelves in it, a large stairway that led to two walkways, entryways that lead down hallways, and large windows.

"Nice place." said Kevin.

"Thank you, Kevin." replied Professor Sycamore. Professor Sycamore turned towards one of the entryways. "Sophie. The new trainers are here."

"Coming." said a woman's voice. Seconds later, a woman with long blue hair, wearing a light blue dress shirt under a white lab coat, a gray skirt, black high heeled shoes, and half framed glasses walked out the entryway. Jonny blushes at the sight of her.

"I know, Plank. She's very pretty." said Jonny. He, along with Kevin and Rolf then see three Pokemon following her, making them smile. The first Pokemon was a yellow, fox-like Pokemon with tufts of orange fur coming out of its ears and an orange tipped tail. The second was a brown Pokemon with darker brown arms that had a green shell extending from its head down to halfway down its tail. The third was a light blue, frog-like Pokemon with a mane of bubbles going from its chest to its back. "Wow!"

"This is so cool!" said Kevin.

"Rolf is also amazed by these Pokemon!" said Rolf. Professor Sycamore motions towards the fox-like Pokemon.

"This is Fennekin, a fire type Pokemon." said Professor Sycamore. He then motions towards the shelled Pokemon. "This is Chespin, a grass type Pokemon." He then motions towards the frog-like Pokemon. "And finally, Froakie, a water type Pokemon." Professor Sycamore then turned towards the boys. "So which of you wants to pick a Pokemon first?"

"Me first!" exclaimed Jonny, running over to the Pokemon. Jonny begins looking at each Pokemon until he stops at Chespin. Seeing the shell around its head reminds him of his superhero alter ego, Captain Melonhead. "I pick Chespin."

"Ches." said Chespin.

"Very well, Jonny." said Professor Sycamore. Chespin walks over to Jonny while Professor Sycamore gives Jonny Chespin's pokeball. Rolf steps forward.

"Rolf will choose next." said Rolf. He looks at each of the remaining two Pokemon while scratching his chin. Seconds later, he points at Fennekin. "Rolf chooses Fennekin."

"Fen." said Fennekin.

"Very well, Rolf." said Professor Sycamore. Fennekin walks over to Rolf while Professor Sycamore gives Rolf Fennekin's pokeball. Kevin then looks at Froakie.

"I guess you're with me, Froakie." said Kevin.

"Fro." said Froakie. It hops over to Kevin while Professor Sycamore gives Kevin Froakie's pokeball.

"So, what do you think of your Pokemon, boys?" asked Professor Sycamore.

"They're so cool!" said Jonny.

"Rolf also is pleased with our Pokemon." said Rolf.

"Our Pokemon are so radical." said Kevin.

"I'm happy to hear that, boys." said Professor Sycamore. Sophie reaches into her lab coat's pocket and pulls out a small red square device with a black circle at the center surrounding a transperent blue circle and hands it to Professor Sycamore.

"What's that thing?" asked Kevin.

"This is a Kalos pokedex." said Professor Sycamore. "This is to help you three learn about the Pokemon here in the Kalos Region." He hands it Kevin.

"That doesn't look like the Eds' pokedex." said Jonny.

"Each region's pokedex look different from one another." said Professor Sycamore.

"Oh." replied Jonny. Kevin examines the pokedex all over.

"How does it work?" asked Kevin.

"It's quite simple." said Professor Sycamore. "Just hold it towards the Pokemon you wish to learn about." Kevin turns towards his Froakie and holds the pokedex out towards it. The pokedex slides open to Kevin's surprise and an image of Froakie appears on it.

"Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokemon. It protects its skin by covering its body in delicate bubbles. Beneath its happy-go-lucky air, it keeps a watchful eye on its surroundings." said the pokedex. The pokedex then shows Froakie's information.

"Okay. This says my Froakie is a dude, he knows Pound, Growl, and Bubble; and he has the Torrent ability which Double-D said powers up his water type when he's almost wiped." said Kevin.

"Whoa. Can I try, Kevin?" asked Jonny.

"Go for it, dude." said Kevin as he hands Jonny the pokedex. Jonny holds it towards his Chespin.

"Chespin, the Spiky Nut Pokemon. Such a thick shell of wood covers its head and back that even a direct hit from a truck wouldn't faze it." said the pokedex.

"Wow! Neato!" said Jonny. "And this says Chespin is a boy, he knows Tackle, Growl, and Vine Whip, and he has the Overgrow ability which powers up his grass type attacks when his energy is low. Cool!"

"Let Rolf try the pokedex do-hickey." said Rolf.

"Here you go, Rolf." said Jonny as he hands Rolf the pokedex. Rolf holds it towards his new Fennekin.

"Fennekin, the Fox Pokemon. As it walks, in munches on a twig in place of a snack. It intimidates opponents by puffing hot air out of its ears." said the pokedex.

"Rolf's Fennekin is a girl, she knows Scratch, Tail Whip, and Ember; and she has the Blaze ability which makes her fire attacks stronger when she's very tired during a battle." said Rolf.

"She munches on wood?!" exclaimed Jonny as he holds Plank close to him. "Keep her away from Plank!"

"Don't sweat it, dude." said Kevin. "The pokedex says she only munches on twigs."

"Well as long as she doesn't munch on Plank, I guess I'll be okay with her." said Jonny. Rolf hands the pokedex back to Kevin who puts it in his back pocket.

"Are you boys ready to get started?" asked Professor Sycamore.

"You bet, dude!" said Kevin.

"Right on!" said Jonny.

"Rolf also is excited to get started." said Rolf.

"Very well." said Professor Sycamore. "Do you boys know how to return your Pokemon to their pokeballs.

"We saw the Eds do it during the Lily of the Valley Conference, dude." said Kevin. The boys hold out their pokeballs and red beams of light come out of them and hit their Pokemon, converting them into energy and sucking them in. They all start to head towards the front door. Professor Sycamore turns to look at Sophie.

"I'll be back shortly. Keep studying the Mega Evolution data, Sophie." said Professor Sycamore.

"Yes, Professor Sycamore." said Sophie. She smiles and waves at Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf. "Good luck, boys." Jonny smiles and looks away with a blush.

"Thanks, Ms. Sophie." said Jonny. Professor Sycamore and the boys exit the lab and hop back into the jeep they arrived in and start heading south out of Lumiose City.

"Where are we going, dude?" asked Kevin.

"Since you boys are just starting out as Pokemon trainers, I thought it would be a good idea for you three to start on an easy route to get you some experience battling wild Pokemon." said Professor Sycamore.

"I guess that's a good idea." said Kevin. As they drive further south, they go through a small town.

"What's this place?" asked Kevin.

"This is Santalune City. There's a Pokemon gym here you can challenge when you feel you've gained enough experience where I'm bringing you." said Professor Sycamore.

"Cool." said Kevin. They continued heading further south through a forest, which Jonny and Plank stare around at.

"Wow! Look at all the trees!" said Jonny.

"This is Santalune Forest. There are many different kinds of Pokemon here." said Professor Sycamore. They soon leave the forest and soon arrive at another town where they stop.

"Here we are, boys. Aquacorde Town." said Professor Sycamore. The boys step out of the jeep and look around.

"This looks like a nice place." said Kevin.

"Yeah." said Jonny.

"Rolf also likes how peaceful it is." said Rolf. Professor Sycamore opens the jeep's glove compartment and pulls out a Town Map.

"Here. This is a map of the Kalos Region for you to find your way around." said Professor Sycamore.

"Thank you, Professor Sycamore." said Rolf as he takes the map.

"Hey, Professor. Do you know where we can buy some pokeballs?" asked Jonny.

"Yeah. Double-D gave us pokedollars a couple days ago." said Kevin.

"There's a store right over there that sells pokeballs and one that sells potions to trainers." said Professor Sycamore. "There isn't a Pokemon Center here though, but there is someone here who will heal your Pokemon for free. Speaking of Pokemon Centers; do you know about them?"

"Yeah. They're places that not only heal Pokemon for free; they also have free food and rooms for trainers. The Eds taught us this a while back." said Jonny.

"If the Eds taught you all that they know about training, then I'm certain you'll do just fine." said Professor Sycamore. "And when you do get to a Pokemon Center, you should register for the Kalos League there."

"Thanks, dude." said Kevin.

"Well, I'll leave you to get started. I have some work to do at my lab." said Professor Sycamore.

"Very well. Rolf wishes you a safe trip home." said Rolf.

"Thank you, Rolf." said Professor Sycamore. With that, he starts driving back to Lumiose City. The boys look at each other.

"Well, dudes. Our journey starts now." said Kevin.

"Do you think we'll be okay?" asked Jonny.

"Relax, Jonny the Wood Boy." said Rolf.

"Yeah, dude. The Eds managed in Sinnoh when they didn't have any pokedollars or experience at first. We have some of the know-how about Pokemon they taught us and some pokedollars. I'll bet we'll do just fine." said Kevin. Jonny gets a look of resolve.

"You're right. Thanks, Kevin." said Jonny.

"No problem, dude." said Kevin.

"Rolf wishes to buy supplies for our journey." said Rolf.

"Good call, dude. Let's buy some pokeballs and potions." said Kevin. The boys head for the pokeball store to start their journey. Back at Peach Creek, Nazz was sitting on her porch with a bored expression on her face.

"This is so uncool." muttered Nazz. "The Eds, Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny are on Pokemon adventures. I would hang out with Sarah and Jimmy, but I can't find them anywhere. Their parents are getting a little worried. I hope they're okay. I wish there was someone I can hang out with. I'm so bored that I would hang out with the Kanker sisters, but they're in the Lemon Brook Juvenile Detention Center." Nazz lets out a sigh. "Why can't I go on a Pokemon journey?" A look of determination suddenly replaces the bored expression on her face. "Wait! Why can't I go on a Pokemon journey?!" Nazz runs into her house. "Hey, Mom! Can we talk?"
