Trina frowned, taking a look at her phone again. She had received a text from Spencer Cassadine, asking her to come to an address of this quaint little cottage at the edge of what was known as University Village. She didn't know why he wanted her to meet him there, but it couldn't be something too nefarious in the bright light of day. Plus he was human and she could take him if he did have bad intentions.

"Trina!" Spencer exclaimed as he pulled up in his car, a black Astin Martin. "You're here!"

"Well you did send me a text asking me to meet you," Trina rolled her eyes. "My question is, why? Our second date isn't until tomorrow."

"That is true, but I thought that you might like to be the first to visit my new humble abode, thanks to my Grandmother, Laura! Well, not just mine. It's Cam's too...even though he doesn't know it yet. It's a surprise."

"Huh?" Trina frowned, confused as she watched Spencer get out of the car and press a button on the key fob to lock it.

"Well, long story short. My grandmother, Laura Collins, or rather Mayor Collins, stopped by Wyndemere last night with an early birthday gift for me. This beautiful cottage. This way, I can live in town and not have to go back and forth to Spoon Island. But not only is it mine, Cam's name is on the deed as well! I told Grandmother I'd tell him. He and Joss should be on their way here."

"Oh, that's cool! So you and Cam will be housemates?" Trina questioned, curiously. She couldn't help but think that this was such a privileged thing for Spencer. Not many college students would be able to receive such a gift from a grandparent. Then again, with Spencer's family being vampires, this was most likely a wise thing to do.

"Yes! I can't wait to tell him," Spencer happily grinned, the clear excitement in his eyes. "Come! Check it out with me."

"Ok, sure," Trina giggled as Spencer went to unlock the door. "Should I go in first, in case some ghostie or ghoul is in there waiting to attack?"

"That won't be necessary," Spencer snorted opening the door and entering to find a fully equipped living room. "Sweet! Grandmother already furnished it! Ok, not my taste really, but it's livable. I know Townie will like it."

Trina followed Spencer in and began to walk around the room, examining the furniture and the little knick-knacks that sat on the mantle and table. This place looked brand new, yet cozy. As if it was just waiting to be lived in. "This place is cute."

"So you like it? Is it a place that you would perhaps...like to visit and hang out in often?"

Trina looked at Spencer with wide brown eyes, noticing how this time he wasn't really smiling. He looked rather serious. She swallowed down her nervousness and nodded. Yeah. I'd definitely like to come and visit and hang out with friends...often."

"Friends huh?"

"Yeah. I mean...Cam is a friend...and I'm just assuming here...but we're friends too, right? Why else would you invite me here?"

"Maybe because we are a little bit more...than friends?" Spencer slowly approached, his dark eyes taking her in. He took her hands and pulled her closer to him, close enough to where all he had to do was lean down and kiss her if he chose.

Trina opened her mouth to answer when the door opened again and a stunned Cam and Joss entered.

"Spencer?! Are you here?!" Cam stared at his cousin curiously. It wasn't every day that he received a text from Spencer asking him to meet him at a strange address.

Spencer sighed, clear disappointment in his voice. "Perfect timing as always Cam."

Trina blinked. He was going to kiss her and she was going to stand there and let him! What was with her? She had never behaved like this around a boy before...she had never been so drawn to one and let things happen as she was doing with Spencer.

"Later," He smiled before pulling away and turning to greet his friend/cousin. "Cam! Welcome home, man!"

Cam frowned in confusion. What do you mean? What is this place?" Cam stared at Spencer, not getting what he was saying at all.

Spencer picked up the folder he had left on a table and handed it to Cam. "An early birthday gift from Grandmother to both of us," Spencer grinned. "She said I could let you know myself!"

Cam frowned and opened the envelope, ruffling through the papers until he saw the deed. "Property of Spencer Cassadine and Cameron Webber? Wait...are you saying that his place is ours?!"

Spencer's grin was bright and happy. "We're roomies, at last, Townie!"

"No way! I mean...this is perfect! It's near PCU, it's a nice size and it's not too fancy! We can have parties here and girlfriends and study sessions and no little brothers to get in the way!"

"No late-night trips home on the launch anymore!" Spencer happily exclaimed. "And yeah...girlfriends…"

He couldn't help but think of Trina. She wasn't his girlfriend yet...but by the way, they seemed to be irresistibly drawn to one another, he knew that was going to change and soon. He couldn't believe that she was going to let him kiss her again. The good night kiss from the night before was still fresh in his mind and he wanted more.

"That is if the girlfriends even want to hang out with you bozos," Joss laughed. "And I don't know what you're talking about Spencer. You don't have a girlfriend...unless there's something we don't know," Joss's smile was coy as she looked at Spencer and then at a blushing Trina.

"We're just friends," Trina smiled, stepping away from Spencer, quickly making her escape from his close proximity. It was too easy to lose her head with him so close.

"For now," was Spencer's reply, his voice flirty and sweet.

"You know, this calls for a home warming for the boys. Trina, why don't you and I go get some snacks while the boys here rummage up some music?" Joss suggested, having a feeling that Trina needed a little bit of distance from one tall, dark, and incredibly handsome prince.

"That's a good idea," Trina grabbed onto the offer.

"Don't be gone for too long," Cam chuckled as both Trina and Joss disappeared out the door. He turned to Spencer and gave a hesitant smile. "Are you sure about this, man? This is not going to be anything like Wyndemere. No servants, we have to cook for ourselves, no luxuries…"

Spencer nodded. "I'm definitely sure. Things have been kind of...weird at Wyndemere. I can't explain it. Something's going on with my father and it's just...creepy. If I didn't know any better, I'd be agreeing with old Luke Spencer. Besides, living with me won't be so bad, I promise."

"Hey, I never said it would be. I just want to be sure that you're sure about being away from that family of yours."

"I'm positive. So...what do you think of Trina? She's beautiful, right? Smart...sweet...I really like her."

"I can tell. You have never acted like this before. I mean, not even for Emma."

"We were kids when I was trying to win Emma from you," Spencer laughed. "Trina's not a little girl. She's a woman...she's a vampire slayer. She's so awesome...and I really really like her. I never felt like this before...or so quickly. It's like love at first sight."

"I think she likes you in the same way, man. Keep courting her. She'll be yours in no time," Cam chuckled, patting his cousin's shoulder in encouragement.

…..

They took Joss's car to the nearest grocery store. The girls were silent as Joss maneuvered the car onto the highway. It was Joss who broke the silence.

"So...you and Spencer...are you a couple now?" Joss asked, her tone light and nonjudgemental. Usually, she'd be concerned about her friend jumping into a new relationship so quickly like this with a girl he had just met, but she honestly liked Trina from the moment they had met. There was something warm and caring about her. She felt as if she could tell the slayer anything and the other girl wouldn't judge her, which was strange, because she had just met Trina, yet she trusted the girl more than she would any other girl in her friend group.

"Um...I...would say no because we just met...but…," Trina stammered, a little alarmed at how easily she found herself opening up to Joss. Honestly, what was it with her and the people in this town? Everyone will probably know all of her secrets by the end of the week with the way things were going.

"You find that you're drawn to him. You wouldn't be able to stay away even if you wanted to?" Joss guessed her mind more on her own situation than Trina's.

Trina blinked in shock, a little surprised that Joss got it, but not really. If that's what was happening with Dex, of course, she'd understand. The only difference was that Trina was single and was free to act on her feelings for Spencer. It wasn't the same for Joss.

"Yeah. That's exactly it. I bet he has a ton of girls lined up."

"Not really. Esme was his first girlfriend, but she had just been using him for his money. It wasn't like it is with you. I mean...we all can see the mutual attraction with you both. Plus, Spencer is never this...smooth with girls. With you...it's different."

Trina laughed. "He is rather smooth...and disarming. When he looks at me, I feel...desirable. You know?"

Joss nodded. "He really likes you. You both should go for it. I mean, nothing is standing in your way, right? You are single and so is he."

"Right...it's just the vampire slayer thing. I mean...we really don't have a long life since we have to fight vampires and other creatures of the night…"

"All the more reason to go for it. Life is too short to pass up an opportunity to find true love. If it comes to you...you should grab it. No matter what…"

Trina studied Joss, wondering if she was contemplating taking her own advice. Trina did like Cam and didn't want to see him hurt, but if Joss was having feelings for Dex...maybe it would be best for her to break it off so Cam could find someone that looks at him the way Spencer looks at her…

"You're right. Life is too short. We should all do what we can to be with the people we're attracted to and care for and not waste our time or anyone else's."

Joss simply nodded. "Yeah. You have a point there. Maybe it's time for everyone to do what makes them happy. It's just...sometimes our happiness can come at the expense of others and...I don't know if I can do that."

"It's a lot," Trina nodded, understanding Joss somewhat.

"Yeah. It is a lot."

…..

With the girls out of the way, Spencer and Cam went about choosing their rooms and now they were getting music and games together before the girl's return. Spencer had just finished placing a stack of CDs next to the stereo when Cam entered.

"Well, everything's ready. Now all we need is the girls. I had also ordered some pizzas...on your card of course," Cam smirked.

"That's fine," Spencer rubbed his hands together, taking one last glance around the room. "This looks cozy enough, right? A place where Trina can relax and be comfortable?"

Cam smiled. "It looks great man. The girls will love it. Especially Trina. Who you seem to be head over heels for already…"

"Is it that obvious?"

Cam laughed. "It's more than obvious, man. You're crazy about her already and I have to say, I think the feeling is mutual. She can barely take her eyes off of you."

"She did save me from Esme...and the date last night...when we danced...then she let me kiss her good night and that was the best thing ever."

"You kissed her already, dude?"

Spencer smiled. "Yeah. And I was about to again when you came barging in and interrupted. Great timing, man!"

"Sorry! Had no idea. I would have waited a few minutes if I had known," Cam laughed. "Are you sure that you want to room with me and have me cramp your new style?"

"There's no one that I'd rather room with, honestly," Spencer replied, his voice serious and his eyes full of affection for his cousin. "You really are the best friend I've ever had Cam. I can't tell you how much the letters you wrote to me when I was in Paris meant to me. You didn't have to write...but you did. There's no way I could ever repay you for your friendship."

Cam's smile was warm and he walked over and placed a hand on Spencer's shoulder. "Hey, there is no need to repay me for anything. We're family, remember? Of course, I wrote you. You gave me a place to vent about Joss and my brothers and Franco and you never told me to get lost or stop writing. You even gave some pretty solid advice there, Cassadine. Believe it or not, you mean a lot to me too and I'm glad we're housemates."

"We're back!" Joss announced as she and Trina returned carrying bags.

"Hey, why is Trina carrying more than you?" Spencer frowned, going to help the slayer with her armful of snacks.

"Slayer strength is my friend," Trina happily grinned, following Spencer into the kitchen where they began to unpack the food.

Twenty minutes later, the house was full of music. Cam was seated in a living room chair with Joss on his lap. Both of them were busy making out, ignoring Spencer and Trina who sat on the loveseat, eating chocolate-covered cherries and sipping on sparkling grape juice.

"This is all so good. I wish I knew that you were moving into a house beforehand. I would have brought you a housewarming gift," Trina sighed, taking a sip of her juice.

"There's no need for a gift. Your presence is gift enough if I'm honest. I really like you, Trina," Spencer sighed, sliding a gentle finger down her bare arm.

"How can you like me so much when we just met?" Trina asked, curious about what he was thinking. Was he as confused by this energy between them as she was?

Spencer shrugged. "I don't know. I can't really explain it. I just know that there's something between us, drawing us together. I don't know why or how it came to be...but this...attraction is there and I don't mind it at all."

"Really? It doesn't concern you?"

"Me, concerned about being irresistibly attracted to a gorgeous woman who's a superhero? Not at all," Spencer chuckled. "Are you concerned? I don't blame you if you are. I mean...my family is not known to be the pillars of society. As far as I know, crazy Luke Spencer could be right."

Trina winced at the mention of Luke Spencer and the rumors surrounding Spencer's family that is turning out not to be rumors. She really should tell him...but how could she? Besides, he was safe now, right? He was moving out of Wyndemere and away from the vampires...but of course, that didn't mean he was safe. It meant that he was going to be easier to protect, most likely.

"I'm not really concerned about being attracted to you. To be honest...I really enjoy your company and the kiss last night...it was the best I've had in a long long time."

"Really? Why do I have a hard time believing that, Trina Robinson? You're so beautiful, men should be lining up around the block to get a chance to kiss you."

Trina simply shrugged. "Sometimes the superhuman strength scares them off. They either turn out to be vampires, thrill seekers or can't handle it that I'm stronger than them. Being a slayer definitely puts a crimp in my dating life."

"Well, none of that bothers me. I think that you're really awesome."

"You're not so bad yourself, Mr. Cassadine. Vampire rumors notwithstanding."

Spencer just laughed before leaning down to claim her lips in another kiss. Trina moaned and leaned into the kiss, this time opening her mouth a little so his tongue could dart in and taste hers just as there was a knock a the door again.

"Oh my god," Spencer groaned as he pulled out of the kiss. "Who can it be this time?"

"I'll get it," Cam lifted Joss off his lap and went to open the door to not only Laura Collins but Trina's Watcher Dawn as well.

"Dawn?" Trina got to her feet. "What are you doing here?"

"Grandmother! Hello! Welcome!" Spencer cleared his throat, getting up as well and straightening his hair, a hot blush heating his cheeks.

"I got your message that you were meeting Mr. Cassadine and I ran into his grandmother who was on her way here and we decided to come together!" Dawn explained. "Mayor Collins is so interesting! More interesting than Willow, let me tell you. We could have really used her back in the Sunnydale days!"

"Huh?" Trina frowned, feeling confused.

"Come in, come in, grandmother! I told Cam all about this place being ours now. We were just having a small housewarming party, but you and...Ms. Summers are completely welcomed!" Spencer beckoned for the women to enter. "Grandmother, thank you so much. This place is awesome."

"You even like the furniture I brought? I know it's not as extravagant as Wyndemere…"

"But it's perfect! Cam wouldn't be comfortable with Wyndemere décor. He should be comfortable here too," Spencer grinned.

"Spencer's right, Grandma. This place is perfect! Thank you," Cam came over to hug his grandmother as well.

"I am so happy that you boys like it and are ready to put it to good use."

"It's definitely a much better meeting place than Kelly's," Dawn nudged Trina who just gave her watcher a glare.

"This is Spencer and Cam's place. Not scooby central 2.0," she whispered through gritted teeth.

"And is that blush red lip gloss Spencer is wearing...the same kind that is covering your lips right now, oh slayer of mine?" Dawn smirked.

Trina's eyes widened. "Oh my god…"

"How good is he?"

"Shut up," Trina folded her arms and walked up to Spencer, and silently took his arm. "May I see you in the kitchen please?"

"Sure," Spencer nodded. "Make yourself at home Grandmother."

He followed Trina into the kitchen and was stunned when she reached up and ran her thumb across his lips. He laughed, resisting the urge to suck that thumb into his mouth. "What are you doing?"

"You are wearing my lipstick," She explained.

"Oh, am I? Is it my shade?"

"Spencer, come on. I'm trying to save you from…," Her words were cut off when his lips were on hers again, and this time his arms pulled her up against his chest and she found that her legs just wouldn't support her anymore so she had to hang on to him to stay on her feet and she couldn't help it. She kissed him back.
