Dee had outdone himself on Valentine's Day, buying Ryo the biggest box of chocolates he'd ever seen. He'd barely been able to fit the box through Ryo's apartment door, what with juggling a huge bunch of flowers and a bottle of wine as well.

Ryo had been speechless when he'd opened the door, expecting maybe a modest single red rose when Dee arrived to pick him up for their date. All he'd been able to do was step aside to let his lover in, saying a bemused 'Thank you' as Dee had thrust the goodies into his arms with a wide grin.

"Didn't mean to go quite so over the top," Dee had admitted, "but I figure you deserve the best for puttin' up with me. Better hide the chocs so the brat doesn't get 'em."

"Hide how?" Ryo had eyed the massive heart-shaped box uncertainly.

"Uh… Under your bed?"

That had turned out to be a better idea than Ryo would have thought. Almost a week later, here he and Dee were, sprawled across the bed with the still half-full box of chocolates as Dee selected a couple to incorporate into the evening's festivities. Chocolates never went to waste.
