Here's the final chapter to 'Heart of a Hunter'. Enjoy :)

2 years later...

She was huffing and puffing a little as she ran and hid from the one pursuing her.

Her little legs pushed her down the hallway and she made a quick B-Line to one of the rooms on the left. The door slid open, and she ran in. As the door slid shut behind her, she dove under the mound of pelts on the large bed.

Bright blue eyes peaked out from a slit between two pelts. But she quickly retreated back under them when the door slid open and her pursuer entered the room.

The large male let out a few clicks as he scanned the area.

She waited, barely making a sound, as he walked around. Then she heard the door slide open and shut again. Figuring they left, she let out a sigh of relief.

Not a moment later, she let out a surprised squeak as she along with a couple pelts were snatched up into a pair of strong arms. They chuckled as she squeaked and kicked in surprise as she squirmed in his hold.

He then pulled the pelt off of her head and leaned in with a smirk.

"Found you." He teased.

The two-year-old pouted.

"No fair, Daddy. You barely gave me a head start." She whined.

Yeyinde just chuckled, "I don't do fair, my darling Hashori. And neither do the ones you hunt."

She smiled, "But I still was able to surprise you that one time."

Yes, she did. And he was proud of her. She may only be a toddler, but she was already showing she was quite good at homing in her tracking skills.

Most yautja children don't partake in hunting games this young. But it doesn't mean it's ever too early to start. And Hashori enjoyed these games he played with her.

"Yes, you did. And I'm very proud of you. Was not expecting a little ambush attack as I came in from the backyard." He said, with some laughter in his voice.

"Well, Uncle Bakuub said, I needed to get you when you least expect it." She said, in a very serious tone.

Yeyinde couldn't help but laugh at both her tone and response.

'Typical, her and my brother have been conspiring new strategies. What else is new?' He sarcastically thought.

Hashori loved spending time with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also liked spending time with her friends. Her mother made sure that her and her female friends could make as many play dates as they can.

It was then the door slid open again and Natalie walked in.

"What's all the commotion in here? You two ambushing each other again?" The young woman teased.

Yeyinde unwrapped his daughter from the pelts and stood up with her still in his arms. He walked over with a soft smile to greet his mate with a kiss.

"You have a fun outing with the girls, love?" He asked.

"Always, Da'dtou-di and I have also arranged another play date with her and R'ka-Thwei." Natalie replied.

Hashori's cheeks tinged pink at the mention of R'ka-Thwei's name.

"Sounds good. Anything else?" He asked.

"Oh, and she wanted me to pass along a message from Larja-Thwei to you. He wants to know, and I quote, 'When are you going to get your butt back in the ring and spar with him again?' Though he didn't exactly say butt, but I'm not saying the 'A' word in front of Hashori." She said.

Yeyinde snorted, "He's that eager for another beat down, is he? Alright, I'll contact him tonight and tell him I'll meet him at the training grounds tomorrow."

They may have finally become friends these last couple years. But their rivalry was still there and going strong. And they do enjoy pushing their limits with each other and enjoy the challenge that comes with it.

"Ooh! Can I come and watch this time!? Please!?" Hashori, asked excitedly.

Natalie and Yeyinde chuckled at her enthusiasm. They looked at each other in silent agreement.

"If you're a good girl and you finish all your dinner and help me clean afterwards, I think we can arrange that." She told her daughter.

"Yay!" Hashori said, throwing up her hands.

Yeyinde chuckled, then leaned in and nuzzled the side of her temple with his mandibles in affection.

The little girl wrapped her arms around her daddy's neck and hugged him. The young hunter placed his free hand on his mate's back and pulled her in to join the hug too.

Natalie smiled, as she wrapped her arms around his narrow waist and rested her cheek against his abs.

This is a life she had always dreamed about but was unsure she'd ever have. And to think, it all started when she was thrown into a cell with this amazing male she was currently embracing.

Within their time together, he became everything to her.

Yeyinde was thinking the same thing as he stood there embracing his small family. He never could've imagined this was how his life had turned out.

He was a young, proud hunter, who went to Earth to prove himself capable of hunting one of the most dangerous prey to his kind. And just like the rest of the yautja here, he went with the sole purpose of obtaining ooman skulls as trophies.

And while he did get a few, he will agree none of them mean a thing, when he came back with this beautiful ooman female in tow.

It's funny. She always seemed to be the opposite of him in almost every way. But that's just one of the many things he loves about her. Many may not view her as a hunter.

But one thing was certain. She did capture the heart of a hunter.
