It seems I like to make people suffer, it's just they don't want to go back yet.
Something was bound to happen, people were getting restless, even ordinary people that worked the fields and barely made a living. At a certain inn, something peculiar happened, every passerby that happened to walk near that place late at night could hear a slight tune that sounded like a lullaby. The sweetest sound they could've hear. No one agreed on actual lyrics or even instruments. It just sounded like the best song they've ever heard before. That strange thing happened at 12 each night like clockwork. It even started to be known for everyone in town and some lucky travelers that made it at the right time.
There was something else about that song that none of the townspeople were aware of. They started forgetting things. It was little by little.
They no longer remember who was the owner of the inn. At first, they knew it was a lady, then everything was blurry at best and not even forcing their memory could they invoque something. It just vanished.
And eventually, it was as if it never even existed.
Magic was pleased.
The sweet song even faded from their minds along with that inn and those who lived there. As if they never existed.

Whenever someone was having fun; time seemed to fly by rather than pass by. Rowena felt happier than ever before even if that happiness came with the knowledge that it could be taken away at any moment. That happened to also make it sweater. She treasured every moment with her friends and husband getting to know each other. Their loved ones were together at last.
Narnia had story with travelers from another worlds. They eventually returned to their own worlds whenever they happened to lay eyes on Aslan. That was another reason to loathe that infamous lion. She never wanted to lie eyes on him if she could help it. She really understood why narnans worshipped him. He was their creator and savior in their hour of need.
But for her it represented the possibility of not being able to be in Narnia again.
That was inconceivable. Unacceptable.
Her research so far didn't provide any answers besides her knowledge f Narnia's history and finally understanding why they were so
Godric was getting restless, he liked Narnia and the narnians were good people, they treated them kindly and better than anywhere he had been before, that was saying something.
But he wanted to go back to his world, he had a mission there. A purpose. To save children, innocent children from the clutches of savage beasts that looked like humans. Magical children were vulnerable amongst the caos that reigned the land. Anywhere he looked he knew witches and wizards with some training had a possibility to get away from any of that. Even trained wizards and witches could be overwhelmed if they were attacked by a crowd. But defenseless children? They were bound to die atrocious deaths or suffer a fate worse than death. He knew such things were taking place back home and it really bothered him. He had to go back and do something.
Rowena hadn't been forthcoming about the portal back home. Their coming here was sudden and hey depended on her for their return. She had been researching and working on something
The door was opening and there was no denying it. It will be ready in 3 days. There was no more running away. She had to tell them.
Helga was worried, she told her as much. Rowena not only felt bad, she looked it. Sleepless nights have her eye bags and a perpetually tired look. Lately she had been throwing her guts out and the smell of anything meat had her nauseous.
Godric and Salazar spent their days to their own devices more than ever, it seemed the castle was to little to house them both whenever they weren't talking about the school. Tempers tan depth.
Rilian had to interfere more than once in order to keep it quiet and safe for Helga and Rowena.
Rowena's concerns proved right when Salazar confronted her on the library in the castle while she worked her secret project, he told her he knew she was hiding something. And that it was in her best interest to share it with the others before he found out what was it.
That was a lot o lo pressure. And not for the faint of heart. With that unbearable situation something was bound to happen. As it was, it turned out to be Sumer rather than later.
Castle servants and narnians alike saw their King running like the hounds of hell were after him. He ran, he wanted to get to his wife.
A palace maid relayed a message in the middle of a meeting and he left without so much as a goodbye. Their counselors surely will understand and if they didn't, he really didn't care.
On his way to his chambers Godric and Salazar found and followed him. No one talked and they made it to the hallway of the royal chamber, were Helga was staring at the door as of all the answers could be found there.
We were drinking tea and having a slice of apple pie. She'd eaten it before and as far as I know she didn't have food allergies. But then she started feeling bad. Before we made it back here so she could lay down. She fainted and that's when I sent a maid to let you know and asked for a doctor.- even if Helga was informing Rilian, Godric and Salazar hanged onto her every word.
When the doctor finally made it out of the room however, their worry gave way to joy.
It seemed happiness could never end.
As a matter of fact. It was bound to happen eventually, just not yet.
...
Rowena's desperation was almost tangible and no one knew how to help or console her. Her research and experiments rendered no results on what she wanted to get. Someway to stabilize her comings and goings between Narnia and her own world. Adding insult to injury she could almost feel the portal coming into being. The one portal that spelled return to their world. She really couldn't leave Rilian behind. So she had to find the answer before the portal formed. Now more than ever.
She was with child. What could happen to her child with the travel between worlds? Every time she visited Narnia she knew it could very well be her last. So far she hadn't crossed paths with Aslan or any other being that made her stay or go. She had done whatever she wanted and realism Narnian lore she could tell it was something unique. The kings and queens of old came and stayed for god. Or has to go back to their world and never came back.
No one had been able to do what she could. Go back to her world and come back to Narnia. She needed to understand how it was possible in order to make it happen.
She was running against time and magic. For her happiness and her loved ones. She couldn't afford to lose. At this point, she really hopes to get a chance at compromising.
...
The little girl felt herself falling asleep and as soon as it happened she left her world and flew far away from her beloved parents and her home. To a world that seemed a fairytale, with talking animals and fresh forest that breathed life itself. They were alive and healthy unlike the the ones back in her world. Magic thrives here. It's such a shame people here loathed magic. Well, you really couldn't have everything. Some people took it in stride and some other... they didn't take it well at all. She had to find someone that really hated not being in control and having things taken away from them. And she didn't look forward to it. But she had to. It was her duty, you see. As part of everything that ruled and managed the universe and as a guide, she was duty bound by her own soul contract to help other overcome their limits and to protect them from their mistakes.
Also, this soul was destined for great things. She really couldn't bear it if those things didn't happen for some unjustified resentment or Waimea perceived unfinished business.
When she finally laid eyes on her object, she smiled. Maybe she could drive some sense into her. Maybe the crisis could be averted with this. She really hoped so, otherwise she'd have her work cut out for her.
...
Rowena wasn't pleased. She couldn't get away with reseraching to her heart's content anymore. Everyonwhad a say on what she should and shouldn't be doing and they were quite vocal about it. She really hated all of that nagging and was barely holding back on lashing out at them.
This research was the key to her happiness and she won't let go of it. She won't have it any other way. She had been stuck and with a terrible headache, and happened to kay eyes on ber diadem, the one Rilian had given her. Silver reflected the moonlight on a painting hanging in the opposite side of the library. Her papers were spread on the floor.
The phrase on the back of the diadem seemed laugh at her.
Moonlight. Could it be that they shared the sun, moon and stars? That could hold the key to her dilemma? She didn't want to let go of anything. She wanted it all.
And she'll have it, damn it.
...
Helga could sense the impending doom and tried to keep her own suggestions to a minimum, just making sure she eas hydrated and properly fed.
She knew how she'd get if someone tried to prevent her work in the greenery. But then again... she understands both sides of the conflict.
Rilian was worried, rightfully so. Before Rowena's pregnancy announcement she was acting weird and Helga knew it didn't have to do with the pregnancy. Then again she really didn't want to pry. Salazar had no such qualms, Godric and she were having enough problems to keep him busy and far from their other friend. Rowena was the key to go back to their home.
Maybe that's why she was worried and overworking herself to an early grave. She must be working on something thar could take them back to their world. Rowena told ber some of her other visits to Narnia and she'd never been here this long. Or had visited rhis place along with someone else, even if she had the most experience out of the four, this was a first for her as well. God's know Rowena and Salazar didn't handle surprises well.
Mostly for their past experiences and their poor upbringing. Rowena wanted to understand things, those she could control, and more so, those she couldn't control. It was how she dealt with things.
Salazar was getting restless. For someone like him this was a revealing and frightening experience. At this point in time, Helga really hoped Rowena succeeded on her research, otherwise waiting for the portal might result in an overwhelmingly bleak experince for everyone involved.
I really hope she gets it soon, Salazar won't be able to hold it together. I'm surprised he hasn't been up to something that could cause trouble.
Holding in a sight, Helga closed the windows and settled in for the night.
