Toshinori's Choice
Chapter seven: The tournament rages on, part one
Bakugo eventually defeated Ochaco in their match in the fighting tournament for year one in the UA Sports Festival, and as such Bakugo was able to move on to the second round. But from where Toshinori sat in the VIP viewing room to watch the matches with Tensei Iida next to him, the Symbol of Peace saw that the very well-fed girl had pushed the explosive boy much further than what Bakugo looked like he had expected. Hell, even Toshinori was surprised that, even though she still lost, Ochaco had been able to put up as much of a fight as she did against Bakugo.
Toshinori was attributing things here to the fact that, in this current timeline unlike in the alternate timeline, Bakugo was not his successor to using One For All. Also, Toshinori was feeling that Ochaco's soft, well-fed form allowed her to, at least to a certain extent, tank Bakugo's explosions better than what one of the more petite girls in Class 1-A could have managed. Toshinori also saw that Ochaco was moving around with a speed, agility, and grace that no girl as fat as her has any business being able to pull off. Did Ochaco's quirk have something to do with it?
Questions for later as Bakugo, regardless, had still won and proceeded to make his way off of the platform after Ochaco collapsed from exhaustion. After Ochaco was carried off to be patched up, the next match of round one went down, that being Kirishima versus Mina. The two students, seemingly knowing one another from prior to getting into UA, had a match that, although they were both serious, they still were respectful and kept the competition between them healthy. The match came to an end after about five minutes when Mina decided to yield, letting Kirishima advance to round two.
Following Kirishima's win, two more of Aizawa's students fought, those being Yugo Aoyama and Fumikage Tokoyami. During the match, Aoyama fired lasers from his belly button at Tokoyami, but Tokoyami with a somewhat panicked look seemed to be trying to warn Aoyama against this. As it turned out the apparent warning actually WAS a warning, as the continuous shots of brightly lit up lasers made Tokoyami's sentient quirk, Dark Shadow, pop out of Tokoyami's belly button, give a harsh and loud hissing scream, then it jumped Aoyama and pummeled him.
After Tokoyami was able to real Dark Shadow in, Aoyama meekly surrendered, apparently sufficiently scared. Toshinori would later get it from Izuku that Aoyama had been so scared by Dark Shadow freaking out on him that the blonde sparkly French boy had pissed himself out of fright. Tensei who sat next to Toshinori in the VIP viewing room actually gave a bit of amused chuckling at how Tokoyami had won, before remarking about how he's looking forward to seeing how the final match of the first round was going to end up playing out.
The reason being that the last round saw Tensei's little brother Tenya face off against Mei Hatsume from the support course. Apparently, Mei was able to get permission to have Tenya use some inventions of hers, and the entire match saw Tenya essentially field test Mei's gear before Mei gave a speech about how she was looking forward to being able to bring more such gear to the pro heroes to help them. Mei then, of her own volition, jumped off of the platform, yielding the match to Tenya and seeing him advance to the second round of the tournament.
"Woot!" Tensei cheered as he hopped out of his seat, "My lil' bro won his first match! That's the Team Idaten mojo working for him, I tell you!"
"Well we both saw kids we're respectively related to advance to the next round," Toshinori said, "And there's a bit of an intermission before the next round. We have time to go get something to eat, check on the kids who had advanced."
Pointing at Toshinori commendingly, Tensei said, "That's a good point." Toshinori was wondering just how the students who were eliminated were doing, as well as the hero course kids that didn't even make it into the tournament in the first place. The Symbol of Peace was planning to check on as many of them as he could before he and Tensei came back to the VIP viewing room to watch the round two matches in the fighting tournament for the first years in the UA Sports Festival.
...
Jiro, Tsuyu, and Hagakure were hanging with Yaoyorozu, Ochaco, and Mina as the former trio tried cheering up the latter trio. "We're really sorry none of you girls made it past round one," Hagakure said.
Shrugging, Mina said, "I ain't too bothered by yielding to Kirishima. I get the feeling he's an overall better fighter than I am, so he'll probably stand a better chance at winning in the next round."
Looking like she was thinking about something, Jiro said, "If I figure correctly, Kirishima will be fighting Bakugo in round two." Looking to the girls who were knocked out of the tournament, Jiro asked, "What do you girls think?"
"That I am feeling really embarrassed by how Shinso defeated me," Yaoyorozu scowled, looking ashamed and embarrassed.
"That I..." Ochaco said, looking unsure about what to say, "...That I made... a fool of myself in... in front of... ..."
Mina, seeing how her considerable classmate was fidgeting, instantly knew what was on Ochaco's mind. With the most sly and amused of smirks, Mina said, "You're worried that Bakugo embarrassed you in front of a boy you like, aren't you Uraraka?"
Nodding once in the affirmative, Ochaco went on, "I'm worried that he... that he may think I'm worthless after I had lost. I... I was planning on..." Ochaco let out a resigned sigh. "...I was originally planning on using winning the tournament to boost my confidence enough to help me confess to the boy that I'm in love with that I... well, am in love with him. Especially given how much he had come to mean to me, ever since I first met him in a park when we were both little kids."
"Ooh, a childhood crush," Hagakure gushed, "Tell us more!"
"Yeah, girl," Mina said, "We'll help you get with your dream guy! Just tell us more!"
Arching a wry eyebrow, Jiro asked, "You can start by telling us who this boy you're crushing on is."
...
"Midoriya, you seem a tad... wound up," Tenya remarked as he talked with Izuku and Shinso between the rounds.
"I, umm..." Izuku began, "...Well I'm planning to use winning the tournament to, umm, well, make myself confident enough to, umm, well..." Finishing off meekly, the green-haired boy said, "...Confess to the girl that I'm in love with while hoping like hell she'll take pity on my sorry rear end and agree to at least one date with me."
Shinso gave a knowing, amused smirk. "You're too hard on yourself, Midoriya. You're worth a hell of a lot more than what you're giving yourself credit for."
"Shinso is right," Tenya said, "You're one of the most upstanding boys in class, if not our entire year here at UA. Any girl would be lucky to have you knocking on her door."
Izuku looked to his friends, a look of hope in his face. "...You really think so, guys?"
Gesturing to Izuku, Shinso said, "You're loads better than that Mineta guy I was told I had replaced in Class 1-A. Apparently he was some kind of pervert from what vibes I got when I asked about it."
"Yeah, not gonna lie," Tenya remarked, a hint of disappointment in his tone, "Mineta was not acting properly as what's to be expected of a student at UA." As Izuku, Tenya, and Shinso were talking, the door leading into the room they were in was opened, and Todoroki walked in.
"Ah, I've been meaning to find you, Midoriya," Todoroki said, "There's something I wanna ask you."
Looking curious, Izuku replied, "What is it, Todoroki?"
Gesturing to Izuku, Todoroki said, "Your power that you displayed in your match where you won against Tetsutetsu from Class 1-B, it's very similar to All Might's. Also, I got it you actually did some personal training under All Might himself. I can't help but wonder." Izuku was a bit nervous, worried that Todoroki may have somehow got it that Toshinori is All Might.
...Only for that to fly out the window when Todoroki asked, "...You wouldn't happen to be All Might's secret love child, would you?"
"How in blazes did you reach that conclusion, Todoroki?" Tenya said, doing his signature hand-chopping motion, "And I assure you, Midoriya is in no way All Might's secret love child!"
Giving a hum of acknowledgement, Todoroki said, "Very well, my apologies." Turning to look at Shinso, Todoroki said, "On a similar note Shinso, while I have you here, would you be able to tell me if my theory about you being Aizawa-sensei's secret love child is accurate, yes or no?"
"No, I am not Aizawa-sensei's secret love child," Shinso answered dryly, "He'd be a teen dad if he was. And what made you think I was related to him?"
"You both have similarly tired looking eyes," Todoroki said, "You both love coffee, you both have a fondness for cats, and I heard he's personally teaching you some of his fighting style."
"To make up for how my quirk isn't useful directly in combat," Shinso explained, "His quirk isn't useful directly in a fight either, it's more for catching an opponent off guard so he can rush in and slug them in the face."
Todoroki nodded once in understanding. "Yes, I suppose that makes sense. My apologies once again." Todoroki was about to leave, but got cut off when he was surprised to see Toshinori and Tensei walk in.
"Oh, sorry Young Todoroki," Toshinori said, "I just wanted to check up on Izuku to see how he's doing."
"Yeah, and I'm wanting to see how Tenya's doing after he won," Tensei said.
Looking a bit embarrassed, Tenya said, "Well, I, umm, I feel more like I was just being used for advertisement before the win was simply given to me. I don't feel as if I had truly earned my position."
"Yeah, Power Loader warned me that his student Hatsume has a bag full of cats for a brain," Toshinori said, "Power Loader said that one can supposedly smell the crazy coming off of Hatsume." That assessment of Hatsume reminded Toshinori of the Toga girl who, by this point, ought to have gotten into contact with Dabi and joined his Crew. The Symbol of Peace worried how things will wind up going down once Dabi and his Crew start taking action, assuming he doesn't cut them off first.
...
"Aww poo," Toga said in a tone of complaint as she and the others in Dabi's Crew so far watched the UA Sports Festival's portion for the first years, "That cute girl with the brunette bobcut got knocked out in the first round."
The others in the bar, Dabi, Spinner, Rappa, Gentle Criminal, La Brava, and Lady Nagant, were also watching the Sports Festival. "That explosive boy has a lot of potential," La Brava remarked, "You think we can tempt him to join our cause?"
"Forget it," Dabi said, "I ain't recruiting members to my Crew from UA Daycare." The scarred villain arched a wry eyebrow of consideration. "...But a few of the kiddies competing there DID catch my attention. Maybe we can pick them up from daycare at some point?"
"I thought you said you weren't going to recruit new members to the Crew from UA's student body," Rappa remarked.
Turning to look at Rappa, Spinner said, "I think that Dabi has something else in mind when he said he planned to pick up one of the herolings from UA." Turning to look at Dabi, Spinner asked, "Who do you have in mind?"
Pointing to the TV screen, Dabi began, "Well the girl who was enthralled to walk off the platform and ring herself out is of interest to me. And the boy with ice powers is Endeavor's baby."
"Ah yes, you have expressed displeasure with the Flame Hero," Gentle remarked, "You're thinking to kidnap Endeavor's boy to do something to make a statement?"
Dabi nodded once in the affirmative. "Eventually. But I wanna wait on that, focus more on what the heiress girl can do for our cause."
Nagant arched a wry eyebrow at Dabi. "Yes, that girl you speak of is the heiress to the Yaoyorozu Conglomerate. But why are you interested in her? The most we can get out from taking her would be a sizable ransom, and I got it that our efforts are already being bankrolled."
"We can try to get a little extra scratch from taking the Yaoyorozu girl, yeah," Dabi began, "But that won't be the primary goal of picking her up from her play date."
"Then enlighten us, boss's successor," La Brava said, "Why go after the Yaoyorozu girl?"
Dabi gave an amused smirk. "It's won't be about money. It'll be about sending a message."
Over at where the UA Sports Festival was taking place at, the second round of the fighting tournament for the first years had started up. The first match-up in round two saw Izuku versus Shinso. Shinso was able to successfully land a brainwashing on Izuku but, rather than opt to make Izuku ring himself out, Shinso merely told Izuku to stand still. After that, Shinso rushed the enthralled Izuku, clearly aiming to land an unarmed strike that had hallmarks of the hand to hand combat skilled used by a very certain underground hero.
However, and to Shinso's surprise, Izuku was somehow able to break himself out of the brainwashing, and just in time to catch the reverse roundhouse kick. Looking around, Izuku saw that he hadn't been made to ring himself out. "...You didn't make me step out of bounds unlike what you did with Yaoyorozu," Izuku said.
After calming back down from his surprise, Shinso gave an amused look. "I get the feeling you're one I have to beat in a real fight if I wanna see any real growth as I try to become a pro hero. I know it's irrational, but I still feel I have to do it." The two boys then proceeded to have an unarmed fight, which eventually ended when Izuku had won by being able to grab Shinso and throw him hard enough to ring him out. From where he and Tensei were watching in the VIP viewing room, Toshinori got all the more excited when he saw Izuku make it past round two.
The second round two match-up saw Todoroki versus Ibara. True to what Tensei had predicted about the match-up, Todoroki won against Ibara rather handily, using his quirk's ice half to freeze Ibara's hair of vines in place. "It's like I said," Tensei said, "Grass against dual ice fire is NOT gonna be a good time for grass. Although that Todoroki boy has been using only his ice so far. Does he actually NOT have fire? I was kind of hoping to see the Todoroki boy use Flamethrower this time as opposed to spamming Ice Beam again."
Toshinori nodded in agreement. "If Young Todoroki really does also possess fire, but he's not using it for one reason or another, then it ought to be considered cause for alarm." Turning to look at Tensei, Toshinori said, "And you really ought to lay off the video games."
"You're Izuku's dad, not mine," Tensei replied.
The next match-up of round two saw Bakugo versus Kirishima, and it eventually ended in a win for Bakugo. However, similar to when he fought Ochaco, Bakugo had to give a fair chunk of effort due to facing a rather resilient opponent. Bakugo was seen panting a little bit out of exhaustion by the time that he had defeated Kirishima, and Toshinori from where he and Tensei sat could see a look of realization on Bakugo's face, a look that told Toshinori that Bakugo had just learned something that he'd have to give a lot of focus to later.
The final match of round two saw Tokoyami versus Tenya, and to Tensei's disappointment Tokoyami had won. The match was actually over fairly quickly; Tenya had tried to rush Tokoyami quickly, only for Dark Shadow to pop out, hang next to Tokoyami, put his left arm around Tokoyami's shoulders, and pull him to the side, causing Tenya to run straight through where Tokoyami had previously been standing. It was so sudden that Tenya wasn't able to stop himself before he had accidentally flung himself off the platform, resulting in a ring-out.
With the second round cleared, another intermission was called, giving time to treat injuries as well as let audience members get snacks and use the bathroom and whatnot. It also made Toshinori reflect on the round three match-ups; Izuku would be fighting Todoroki, while Bakugo would be fighting Tokoyami. Toshinori felt that he ought to go find Endeavor, he knew Enveador was here as Todoroki was competing, and talk to him to get his opinion on Izuku fighting Todoroki. The Symbol of Peace also wanted to try and look into matters concerning Todoroki's apparent lack of using the fire he supposedly had.
Toshinori could only hope things weren't too bad.
...
"Birdbrain ought to be easier for me to whump," Bakugo said as he sat on the side of a bed in an infirmary area, "He doesn't look to be the tanky type."
"Tanky type, Baku-bro?" Kirishima asked (he had already been treated) as he, Sero, and Kaminari all hung with and talked to him, "What makes you say that?"
Gesturing to Kirishima, Bakugo said, "You can harden the whole of yourself and be a really durable fighter who's really hard to hurt. And Round Face was able to take more of the damage that I can dish out than what I'm used to people being able to put up with. I'm guessing her being as fat as she is has something to do with it."
Holding a hand to his chin while wearing a look of consideration on his face, Sero said, "I did hear that the BMI Hero Fatgum is, like, super tanky, and that no villain or criminal thug had been able to so much as wear him down in a fight."
Looking to the guys in the crew he had formed, Bakugo said, "The point is that I just realized that if I'm dragged into a one-v-one against a tanky opponent and I'm not able to take them down quickly, then I could go down. If I hadn't been able to push out sufficient force, then I could have gone down to either Round Face or Kirishima." With a serious look on his face, Bakugo said, "I need to improve myself so I can contend better against tanky opponents." Bakugo looked down at the bottle of sports drink that he held; there was about a swallow's worth of grape sports drink left. "...I guess that means I owe both Kirishima and Round Face some thanks for pointing out where I need to improve."
"I bet that Uraraka will be surprise to hear it that you owe her your thanks," Kaminari remarked.
Sero was also amused with Bakugo being as humble as he was. ...Well, humble by Bakugo standards at least. "You want another sports drink?" Sero offered.
"Literally any flavor other than grape," Bakugo said before swallowing the last of the grape sports drink in his current bottle, "Grape reminds me of that perverted little shit that Aizawa-sensei booted from UA after day one before replacing him with Eyebags who I am, like, ninety percent sure is Aizawa-sensei's secret love child."
...
Toshinori in his All Might form was walking around, trying to locate Endeavor to have a chat with him. Eventually, the number one found the number two as the latter was heading down a stairwell to get to a lower level. "It certainly has been quite some time, Endeavor!" All Might called out, "Glad to hear that you're doing well after I heard you had some issues with your quirk!"
Endeavor, when he turned to look and see All Might standing there, gave an indifferent look that did have hints of being annoyed and pissed off in it. "...I don't like being reminded about how I had woken up suddenly in an alleyway somewhere on a pile of trash, and worse that I couldn't even feel my quirk in me," Endeavor scowled, "It's lucky that some miracle child was found and her quirk undid whatever was wrong with me."
Toshinori nodded once in understanding; Endeavor was one of the persons who needed Eri to 'rewind' them to restore their quirk. Gesturing to Endeavor, Toshinori went on, "Well I'm glad to see you back in peak shape, Endeavor! Japan needs all the good quality heroes it can get!"
"Get to the point, All Might," Endeavor said.
Toshinori was caught a tad off guard by Endeavor's bluntness, but he persisted on. "I got it that the round three matches will see your boy fighting the boy of my assistant Yagi. I hope that your boy is ready for one hell of a fight, because I can personally vouch for Young Midoriya's strength!"
"Shoto will win," Endeavor said firmly, "He will win, he will surpass all of his peers including that green-haired boy, and then he'll become a hero so strong he will surpass even you All Might. And he WILL be starting to use his fire."
So the youngest Todoroki child did have fire in addition to ice. That answers one question. "You have quite a lot of ambition for your son's future," Toshinori remarked, "Perhaps you can give me some tips on helping the newest generation of heroes reach the goal that I know they can reach? I bet that Yagi will be especially interested in such info so he could help Young Mido-"
"Trade secrets," Endeavor interrupted, "Can't risk all of the brats knowing so they could have a chance at surpassing Shoto."
"Oh come on, don't be stingy," Toshinori remarked.
"I'm surprised you're even bothering to ask me for advice to help others become stronger," Endeavor said dryly, a hint of sarcasm in his tone, "Aren't you the number one hero in this country?"
"I'm admittedly not all that good of a teacher," Toshinori confessed, "At least not yet. Hence why I'm seeking advice from you."
Turning away from the Symbol of Peace, Endeavor said, "Here's the advice that I have for you, All Might. Be ready to strain your neck as you look up, because Shoto will be shooting right to the top." The Flame Hero then proceeded to walk away, leaving All Might behind him. Toshinori wanted to say more, but he felt that he had to allow Endeavor to take off. Toshinori then decided to make his way back to the VIP viewing room to get ready to watch the round three matches. Toshinori had a strong feeling that the Izuku versus Todoroki match will be a highlight of the fighting tournament for first years in the UA Sports Festival.
Before the matches could begin for round three, Izuku was talking with Shinso and Tenya. "Assuming you win," Shinso began, "You'll fight whoever between Bakugo and Tokoyami wins the other match. That said, you think you can take either of them?"
"I will certainly give it my best," Izuku replied, right before he and the others were met up by Todoroki. "Is there something we can help you with, Todoroki?" Izuku asked.
"I'm just here to let you know that I'm going to defeat you in our match," Todoroki said, "And that I'll only be using my ice to do so." Giving Izuku a notable glare, Todoroki went on, "During the Calvery battle, you had made me break the oath I made to myself to never use the fire half of my quirk."
"Can... you at least tell us why you're reluctant to use your fire?" Shinso asked.
Todoroki looked at Izuku and his group as a whole. "...You guys surly know who my father is, don't you?"
Tenya nodded once in confirmation. "Of course. Your father in Endeavor, the number two hero in the country."
Nodding once, Todoroki said, "Yeah, he's been a number two forever."
"Don't you mean to say he's been the number two forever?" Tenya asked.
Todoroki gave another single nod. "Yes, that too. Anyway, Midoriya here is an awful lot like All Might, right down to how strong they are. I get the feeling he's got some sort of connection to All Might, which gives me all the more reason to beat him in our match."
Izuku felt that there was more at play here than a need to be the best, so he pushed further. "Is there a reason why?"
Todoroki, while still glaring, relented his expression a bit. "...Surpassing All Might in the rankings and becoming the number one hero has always been my father's goal. But regardless of what all effort and power he had, he could never surpass the Symbol of Peace. As such, he came up with the idea of having a quirk marriage from which he intended to produce a child with a quirk powerful enough to overcome All Might." Todoroki paused to gesture to himself. "You're seeing Endeavor's crown jewel, the fruits of his efforts, standing right before you."
"You're..." Shinso said, a surprised and mildly worried and alarmed look on his face, "...You're the result of... oh no..."
Continuing on, Todoroki said, "You guys notice the burn mark over and around my left eye? Yeah, my father's ambitions had grown so strong that it drove my mother crazy. She despised my left side and, on the day she snapped under my father's tyranny, she took a kettle of water and poured it all over my left eye, resulting in the scar that I have to this day." Pointing to Izuku, Todoroki said, "I will beat you using only my ice, as it'll be a personal triumph over the bastard I call my father, it'll serve as a total disavowal of him."
Izuku wasn't quite sure what to say; he was actually horrified that Todoroki had suffered so much because of his father Endeavor. Izuku had no idea that a dad could be so uncaring towards their child. Izuku had known nothing but gentle love and support from his step-dad Toshinori. Ochaco's dad was a goodly man who did right by those he worked with. Bakugo's dad Masaru was a good man who was a kind and gentle dad. And Tsuyu's stories about her parents who were tragically killed showed her late dad Ganma was much the same as Toshinori, Mr. Uraraka, and Masaru.
But Enji Todoroki? Just from what Izuku got from Todoroki just now about the Flame Hero, Izuku thought that it was a miracle from Kami above that Todoroki didn't snap under the abuse and go villain. As far as Izuku was concerned, Enji had no right to be a father, if what all Todoroki said was true. But the green-haired boy knew it was not his place to stick his nose into the family affairs of others. He did, however, plan to inform Toshinori and Aizawa-sensei about the whole mess. Looking out from the corners of his eyes at Tenya and Shinso, Izuku could tell they were feeling similarly as he did.
They wouldn't push that envelope, they would let adults they trusted handle things. But there was another envelope Izuku planned to push. "I have many people who all believe in me," Izuku said, "Who have helped me get to where I am today. I do not intend to let any of them down. I also plan to win so I can be confident enough so I can confess to the girl that I'm in love with, but that's beside the point." Looking to Todoroki, Izuku went on, "Don't think you're going to win, or at least win easily. I'm going to be going all out against you."
Todoroki's glare narrowed, his brows furrowed. "...I see." Turning around, Todoroki took off as he said, "Then I hope that you're ready to feel the chill, Midoriya. I'm going to be putting your goal of progressing through the tournament on ice." The youngest child of Endeavor then took off, the last words of his challenge still ringing in the minds of Izuku, Tenya, and Shinso.
After Todoroki was gone, Tenya said, "We need to inform Aizawa-sensei about this as soon as possible. I think Inui-sensei also ought to be brought in on it, he's good at helping others work through their issues."
"Yes, telling Aizawa-sensei about it as soon as we can is the rational thing to do here," Shinso agreed, "But he and the other teachers will be busy until after the Sports Festival is over. We'll have to wait until then." Turning to look at Izuku, Shinso said, "What do you think?"
"We should also tell my dad's boss about what we had just learned," Izuku declared, "I think that All Might will be rather concerned to hear what Endeavor has been up to, but he'll immediately agree to help out in whatever way he can." Tenya and Shinso both looked surprised, but immediately relaxed and felt that Izuku had a really good idea. Endeavor may be hard to handle if he's attempted to be brought in by force, but having All Might around to help make things go smoothly ought to be a very good level of insurance.
What Tenya and Shinso did NOT know was that All Might was also a very good dad, one who would be utterly infuriated to hear what another dad was doing to said dad's own family.
...
Although some concerning stuff had gone down, the concern had to be put off to the side for the time being as the third round of the fighting tournament for first years in the UA Sports Festival was starting up. Given that their match came first in round three, Izuku and Todoroki got up onto the platform, stood apart from one another as they stared one another down. One boy was damaged and hurting, but it wasn't physical. That boy had everything to prove to a man that saw him as nothing more than a mere pawn to help him achieve his goals.
The other boy, rather than be driven by pain and desire for revenge, was driven by love and support. He had never known the pain his opponent had grown up knowing under the abusive hand of a tyrannical man. The other boy had known the love, care, and support all children need when growing up. The other boy was fully planning to win this match, but now he had another reason for wanting to do so, a reason he added under wanting to live up to the faith others had in him, under wanting to make himself confident to confess to the girl he's in love with.
The other boy wanted to help save the first boy.
END, CHAPTER SEVEN
Author's notes;
This chapter covers the rest of round one and all of round two. Round three here will be seeing Izuku versus Todoroki, and after that Bakugo versus Todoroki, before the final fight of the tournament will be determined. But how the round three matches will go may surprise you. ...Well, one of them may surprise you, the other one will be a fairly easy one to call. Toshinori in the next chapter will also get hints that someone is being a worse father than he himself was in the alternate timeline, and he'll be taking measures to try and rectify things. But whether it will be enough is something yet to be seen.
